There's nothing shocking or off about it at all, but knowing that it's all gone now makes it seem so important. Also, Sunny feels so shockingly alive and human in this scene. He has opinions and gives descriptions on things, and uses more casual and friendly language. It's totally different from the way Omori and current Sunny describe things.

This makes me realise something, you know what wouldve been cool? If we saw the perspectives of OTHER characters before Omori came out, so like you had AUBERY's and KEL's perspective and maybe even BASIL, before getting to the heartbreaking reveal later when OMORI came out and we learn the truth about everything in the previous games.
it really caught me off guard when I got to this point and suddenly it was in first person. it was very interesting to finally get some insight into sunnys thoughts though. and a bit sad, seeing how different things became.
As soon as I saw the house, as soon as I heard the music of the piano, my eyes were wide open. And as soon as I interacted with the trash can, I burst into tears. As I interacted with every object in the room, I couldn't stop crying. I COMPLETELY forgot this part of the game existed, and recently played Omori again and was thrown back into another set of tears as I interacted with this scene for what truly felt like the first time. Even now I still don't remember interacting with this the first couple times I played, but I must've since it's a compulsory scene. The affection Sunny describes everything with. The way it sounds like Mari is playing the piano, playing the same song her ghost recalls playing over and over again when she was alive. It really feels like this is Sunny's home. Man, do I love this game.
