I theorized that Sunny’s parents know the truth; but seeing Sunny’s their only child left, they decided to keep the truth hidden. Hence his Mother’s line, “My only daughter… is gone. And you… you are my only son. I can’t…lose you as well.” lose referring to police, my POV. She’s gonna be devastated to to hell and back :”D

This time, Kel becomes a truly depressed individual, not even having the urge to be optimistic again Aubrey would likely abandon the Hooligans, leaving them sad but acceptable, yet they disband Hero would become so sad, he does not just take care of himself, he flat out refuses to get out of bed or eat anything
@@elizabethramirezthezenshii9691 Hero used to be a Hikikimori after Mari's death, seeing her brother fall in the same way as her (in his eyes) and having Basil die as well... he wouldn't survive the process. Even if he was better at hiding his emotions than Sunny, he wouldn't be able to cope in the state that would have happened. Aubrey would become a new Hikikimori, though I really don't know how that's going to go considering Aubrey isn't exactly the most stable person after even the death of Mari. There's nothing needed to describe Kel's situation, you've got it alright.
I’m pretty sure that the Bad Ending is the worst one since the squad would see his deformed corpse on the ground upon leaving the hospital, Basil would also oof himself too

The only thing we know for certain is that Sunny dies, it’s possible that Basil decides to live or is stopped by the group before he can jump and instead admits everything to them. Sunny confronted the past but couldn’t overcome it and died Movies and media make it seem like the bodies of suicide jumpers splat or contort when they hit the ground when in reality, there’s usually little to no blood and they just hit the ground really hard. Sunny’s body would be a big shock to the group and a horrible sight, but it wouldn’t be deformed from the fall In this neutral ending we know that Basil and Sunny die, Aubrey blames herself for Basil’s death, and Hero is hit very hard by Basil’s death (as seen from his shaky text). No one in the group knows the truth of what happened to Mari; to them, 3 of their closest friends committed suicide and they couldn’t save any of them. Sunny doesn’t even confront the past in this ending, he just dies Edit: second paragraph is partly wrong. If you reach terminal velocity after 12 seconds of falling, your body will definitely explode when you hit the ground. Most hospitals are not tall enough to allow you to fall for that long though, so Sunny’s body would still be relatively intact
You can see how broken they are after Basil's suicide. They just got back together like the old days and suddenly it all falls apart. Aubrey thinks it's her fault and feels guilty. Kel snaps and loses his joyful spirit. Hero who overcame the grief of losing Mari falls back down. Polly feels worthless as she was Basil's caretaker. Just imagine their reaction when they learn Sunny committed suicide as well. I think anyone would lose it at this point.

i actually found this ending on my own it’s optional to get the knife if you don’t pick up it you just move but the sound of ambulance sirens are heard throughout the whole credits and if you do pick up the knife this is what happens…

If sunny picks up the knife, then he kills himself in his sleep and the sound of his phone plays through the credits. But if sunny doesn't pick up the knife, then he gets to wake up next morning and moves out of his house but this time the sound of an ambulance plays through the credits implying that basil died
If you don't pick up the knife, sunny gets followed by his "manifestation of guilt" and is kept with trauma he never confronted anyone about,he leaves his friends too.
basically this is the knife ending where sunny kills himself in his sleep. he kills himself while not realizing due to him not saving basil. at least thats how i interpreted it. so ye he felt a big load of guilt which already made him suicidal. He was already not mentally well after the mari incident but now that this happened again he kills himself to get over it in his sleep.
There's a chance that you can see an even more messed up looking version of her instead of the Something behind you. I think it's called "HellMari" in the game files.
As horrible as this is for their friends, imagine Sunny’s mom too. She already lost her daughter, no husband, and wants to move to get a fresh start with her son. Only to discover he killed himself on the moving day she got back home…

Nowhere does it say she consistently left him alone for the whole 4 years, it's just these last few days before moving out where she got unexpectedly busy and couldn't come home right away. The steak was only rotten because the electricity got cut off, again, unexpectedly, and his mom being away meant she couldn't do anything about it. It was all a matter of wrong time and wrong place.

This whole 'fed him nothing' argument is BS too, because as far as we know the mother has been working AND putting food in the house for Sunny, it was just that *one* steak that was expired simply because the power had been cut off to the house, meaning that steak could’ve been perfectly fine had the power not cut off. Secondly, if she didn’t care then she wouldn't have gone through all the trouble of buying a NEW HOME in an entirely new city in hope of letting Sunny get a new start in life. After all, the only reason she *wasn't* home during the 3 days was because she was busy with something that was most likely to be the new house she had bought and moving procedures.
This is the true bad ending of the game. Even in the "bad ending" there's the possibility that the gang can save Basil, but here, we get none of that. Aubrey blames herself for Basil's suicide, and by extension, most likely sunny. She's already not in the best mental state, so this most likely breaks her, and the hooligans don't provide her a good enough support structure for her to cope with it. She probably tries to hide away from the world, like she did after pushing Basil into the lake. I'm don't think she's going to off herself immediately, but she most certainly is going to be completely traumatized by it. Hero already feels an immense amount of guilt for not being able to save Mari. Seeing two more of his friends, one of which he knew was deeply troubled do the same is the final straw. I doubt he lives much longer without following suit. Kel is now having to deal with his friend group in complete shambles, permanently. Despite his best efforts to bring the group back together, most of his friends are dead, including his brother. The one that isn't has shut herself off from the world. He still has the rest of his family, including his little sister, so I don't think he's a goner, but he certainly isn't in the best state either.
No, Kel would have it much worse. He's already been neglected by his parents, because Hero is their star child. Therefore, if Hero dies, it would break Kel completely. He lost his brother, and will continue to be neglected by his parents. I wouldn't blame him if he chose the easy way out tbh.

4:52 This ending hit the hardest for me. It’s something you see “SUNNY” do throughout the entire game but you can reassure yourself that nothing bad comes out of it. But to see that he actually went through with it irl in his sleep is so saddening
Ok, so Sunny and Basil committed suicide. But, the others very possibly did after the game as well. I mean, Aubrey clearly thought Basil killed himself because of her, so she'd blame herself for both deaths. Kel has now seen suicide happen twice and he doesn't know how to cope with such negativity in any way other than moving on, which is difficult to do if it happened twice. Hero would feel inadequate for not saving Basil and Sunny, and added on with his remaining guilt from Maria's death, well. That doesn't seem too good for him. So, basically, they're all fucked

I don't think Sunny's mom is neglectful, I mean, in the game it's said that she isn't there because she's setting up the new home. Plus, she always says "Mommy Loves You!" Imo I don't think the parents know the truth, I didn't find anything that showed that they Did (other than maybe that one scene where the guy chops the tree, but that could just be Sunny's cognition)
This is basically how i think the whole squad will die For aubrey we can see her blaming herself for basil's death and then saw sunny's body the next day so i think she would be assuming its the cause of her bullying and sunny killed himself cause of two deaths of the people most close to him so she will have her own something too which i think will force her to join them I cant get creative enough for hero and kel's
With Kel and Hero, I think a fight after Aubrey's death would make Kel run away. He gets Mauled by a pack of coyotes or something. Hero eventually hears of it and blames himself for Kel's death. Blames himself for Mari, Sunny, Aubrey, And Basil's death. He killed them in his eyes, which causes his downward spiral. His parents eventually Kick them out because what will they do with a problematic young man? He's given up on all education and his future. He's homeless and Hopeless, and can't manage to get the courage to end it no matter how much pain he's in.
Hero would obviously blame himself for not being there enough... Going too hard on himself And then have the same but worse mental breakdown like when Mari died Kel....i mean he already feel cursed because he thinks these things keeps happening to him... Which means he made "it" worse... Which id the exact opposite thig he wanted to do when Mari died... He wont understand the true situation so seeing it as a curse would just ruin his happy go lucky attitude and possibly....ruon his life
I just realized Kel is probably crying the most in this scene because all of his emotions from the past four years were bottled up, but this one event just caused them to spill out
You're a 16 years old who just got outside after 4 years not going out of home, try to interact with your friends after so much time and on the last day, in a sleep over, you see your best friend corpse. Add that feeling by the fact you think you caused his death and multiply by the trauma you had 4 years ago.
I don’t think the good or bad ending could happen without trying to save Basil because he is integral to your discovering of the truth, especially with how involved he is with said events. A lot of Black Space is just Sunny taking out his anger and guilt out on Basil, one because he was partially responsible, but also because Basil's very existence is a constant reminder that "something" is wrong.
I love seeing these comments theorizing and stuff and honestly I think the representation of "something" is a really good metaphor for how committing su*cide/death in general can just pass the pain on to other people. so even if basil and sunny are free of their something in death, it will still move on to haunt their friends.

Hero: Hero would once again become a hikikiomori, But so much worse, as he not only lost someone he had loved, he lost 2 friends which he had honored and protected, This state would lead to the fact that Hero would most likely permanently become a hikikiomori... And in extreme cases... Might even kill himself to see his other 3 friends again... Kel: Kel has broke... He couldnt stand to truly be happy anymore... He does the normal routines but can never recover the lose of so many people he had tried to save... over a long long period of time, He might try to become happy again like before... But he will never be truly happy ever again... He will forever be scarred... Aubrey: Aubrey not only thinks that Basil's death was her fault, but now also thinks that its her fault for Sunnys death, In the mindset, Aubrey thinks that she technically lead Basil to kill himself, which lead a chain event to Sunny killing himself after, All of this was too much and she would lock herself away, Never talking to her hooligan friends, Kel, Hero and anyone ever again...
I mean I doubt kel would ever fake a smile anymore with two of his close friends dead so umm yea at that point I feel like kel would entirely change his personality to sunny emotionless and maybe even becoming an introvert like oof two people dying can just change your personality so much to the point where kel can no longer become canon in a neutral meme ;)
Realistically, violence would no longer be enough for a semblance of control. She'll turn to hard drugs and or alcohol as a form of escape and attempt to drown her sorrows. She'll never be the same

when i tell you i am absolutely in love with this game, i mean it ive always loved psycological horror, and this game is honestly just perfect for it. the story is portrayed so nicely, accompanied with a genuinely stunning soundtrack and sfx. the storys timing and atmospherical portrayal was just on point. the characters are all relatable and serve their part in the story. before i got to the big twist, i got spoiled so unfortunately there wasnt a big shock to me :"D. but omocat is genuinley such a big inspiration to me, especially because of this story. i dont get why people think this is poorly portraying dissociative identity disorder (DID), (which it literally has no connection to) since its pretty much all just a dream. but point is, this game is a true masterpiece in my eyes, and i really think it doesnt deserve all the hate it gets. omori will forever hold a place in my heart, and be my biggest inspiration, as will omocat and their team. sorry if this comes across as rude or pushy, i just felt i had to state my opinion on the omori dispute :')
Same. Also, DID is a diagnosis thing, but this game does portray a lot of dissociation related psychological phenomena, through lucid dreams and stuff. As someone gone through dissociative shit myself but not in the form of the dreams and all.
When you get the moving out ending in Hikikkomori the same sirens from the normal route can still be heard. I theorize that either Basil kills himself just like the night before Sunny moving out or Aubrey's conflict escalates to the point she actually (maybe unintentionally) murders him in a fit of rage.
Imagine if Aubrey found out he wasn't even the one who used the marker on the photo album. I think she'd just die from the heartbreak. Bullied him for 4 years to suicide (From what she believes) and he didn't even do the deed.

this ending literately did something to my stomach. the phone ringing at the end gives me chills. I just love the game and how every ending is well made.

This ending is even worse when you realise that basil and especially sunny died with the guilt and trauma of Mari's death and also died without telling the truth about Mari's "suicide" to Kel, Aubrey and Hero, which was their only wish because it would've lifted off a huge load off their backs but in this ending they died unsatisfied. Plus, when we talk to Hero before going into Basil's room he says 'Everything is going to be okay. *I think* ' note that he said I think in the same font as Basil's during the boss fight in the good ending, meaning that Hero is probably the next victim of something but with a heavier sense of guilt and trauma. If we look at Aubrey, she thinks Basil and Sunny committed suicide because of her bullying and she too, will probably commit suicide with that guilt as in headspace during various fights, Aubrey shows her emotions and depicts her emotions better than the others (we're excluding Omori here) and is VERY sensitive so it makes sense that she wouldn't be able to handle the feeling of guilt and will commit suicide too. Kel will lose all of his optimistic charm which helped him move on from Mari's death, making him more deppresed than ever. But y'know what's worse? Even after putting themselves to rest, "something" will probably still haunt Basil and Sunny in the afterlife and make them suffer even more, this time with no escape. But it switches over to Hero, the cycle will continue killing off the whole friend group. This trauma will most likely pass on to their parents too and will become and endless hard-to-break cycle.
I think that Hero, Kel and Aubrey would feel very guilty of Sunny's suicide, because they left him go home alone. Especially Hero's guilt would probably kill him
I can't stop crying. I've been crying for a hour just because of how bad I feel for Aubrey, Hero, and ESPECIALLY Sunny and Kel. I NEVER thought I would see Kel cry. And plus, at 3:08 , I realized what Sunny was gonna do.
i think if aubrey were to see sunny’s death on her own, she would also begin to see a “something” like basil and sunny, but rather than the “something” being mari, it would vary between the two (more likely sunny i think… didnt she have a crush on him when she was little?) this game is so interesting

And I thought the bad ending was fucked up… this is worse on a whole different level, the phone ringing from his mom, showing that she has just lost yet another child to “suicide”. And think about how Hero, Kel, and Aubrey would react. Imagine losing two of your best friends to suicide in less than 24 hours.
Less than 24 hours... Hell, less than 12. For all we know, Sunny shishkibabed himself mere minutes after he got home. MFer can fall asleep light a match in a hurricane, I doubt it would have been long. Granted, they'd not know for probably 24 hours, so your comment is more accurate.
Bruh, um, it..was weird.. it was like I couldn't control my bladder I guess so I was trying to control it, which made it worse because I was actually pushing in real life..so
I know that this "canonically" isn't the true ending, but a bunch more games can be spun off from this. Like imagine a sequel which is just the aftermath of this ending. The studio that makes this game could mess around with shifting POV's, to each of the remaining friend group. I think it'd be the most interesting from Aubrey's POV since you can probably tell from all the theory comments about her blaming herself for the suicides. Then imagine a prequel from Mari POV where we see her getting more and more troubled, with the finale of the game being her getting pushed off the stairs by Omori, leading to this game. It might not be too hard to imagine, since she was barely talking with the friend group anymore, and she might've been getting stressed out with piano practice and whatnot.
A Hero spin-off with this ending, a Kel spin-off with the abandon/moving day ending, and an Aubrey spin-off with the bad ending would be the bee's knees.
In this ending, there’s absolutely no possibility of the truth coming out. At least in the bad ending, Basil could still reveal it even though unlikely. Now both of them are dead and even if Sunny’s dad knows the truth, he’s fully out of the picture.
Aubrey has started being alcoholic, afraid to directly commit suicide. Hero had committed suicide; blaming himself for Mari’s and Basil’s deaths and for sending Sunny home alone. Kel was sent to psychiatric hospital. That’s what I think would have happened after this ending.
Everyones talking about all ov the main characters but no one is talking about how utterly sad it must be for the mother. Losing both your children to 'suicide' would be the worst feeling ever
The artstyle makes the game so much sadder. It gives the audience that "childhood" essence. Which makes you relate to the characters, its really well done.
This is just my theory but: Sunny will probably try to kill himself soon after moving out,after choose the option not to pick up the knife. "There was no Light Bulb here" The lightbulb represent the idea of escapism, headspace, as long as it's still there, Headspace still exists and Sunny still can escape the truth. However, after Sunny breaking it, Headspace no longer exist, thus why there's no more entrance to Headspace. Even with Sunny's moving out, I don't think there will be no hope left for Sunny to live. He can not escape, he can not move on, thus there's only one option, like the one you see in the Bad Ending.
this ending always made me feel so empty because of how much i love my family, and i can definitely see if this happened to a mothers son it'd be heartbreaking, especially after she thought sunny was doing alright or recovering a bit
I really like how it prompts you "save Basil" and not "enter the room". Sunny knows something terrible is going to happen and he has the choice to embrace yet another time escapism or just face reality.
this is honestly the worst ending. Hero, Aubrey and Kel believing Mari killed herself for 4 years, then Basil and Sunny doing the same thing soon after they get back together after Mari's death... I'm sure it would break Kel, Aubrey would probably get way worse, and Hero would go back to when Mari just died. I wouldn't be suprised if our remaining 3 did the same after this ending
The way the credits roll silently on the black screen with only the ringing of the phone... Genuinely the most chilling ending in the game. Even the infamous My Time sequence, while horrific, is almost peaceful in it's finality, as Sunny gives in and lets himself fall into the dream forever. But here, there's only a hollow, anticlimactic ache, the ringing of the phone a foreboding, inescapable reminder of the real world that the boys have left behind. Not to mention how much more brutal and graphic the suicides in this ending are compared to the bad ending; we don't even see Sunny hit the ground in the bad ending.
Sunny's immediate reaction to Basil's death is horrifying by itself, as it's implications are... well, regression and further repression, plus him falling apart very soon after. Add that onto the list of things that make the neutral/bad endings an absolute suffering for everybody...
Yeah he instantly tries to forget that he saw Basil like that, which would likely cause him to have repressed every memory related to Basil. Then since he experienced so much trauma, he would just let Omori keep him safe and that’s why he ended up killing himself through White Space.

Nahh.. it's not like he chose sleep over Basil. If Sunny doesn't save Basil, it's either that he overslept or more likely: he was too afraid to confront the truth and soothe Basil. Sunny is uncomfortable speaking, how does he go from that to talking someone down from suicide? If I were him, I'd be extremely worried too, but I'd try it anyway of course. It would just take immense strength, from Sunny, who's been using repression and denial since Day 1. Doesn't exactly scream mental strength and he knows it. It's not that he chose sleep over Basil. It's that he chose fear. If he doesn't stop Basil, it means he used denial to pretend Basil would be okay. Because Sunny was scared of the truth again. Always. In this ending, anyway.
It's just awful, mari, basil, and sunny. And imagining them hearing about how sunny took his life the same night, it makes you wonder if the rest are going to as well, probably in order as, mari, basil, sunny, aubery, hero...kel.
I know this is rather gruesome to say but I genuinely want to know and see the others (characters) reactions and thoughts to Sunny’s suicide on top of Basil’s (more than just what has instantly happened. I want to hear what the characters do afterwards over the span of their lifetime or for however long the grief has lasted for each of them). As someone who as depression and has…tendencies, I find it intriguing and interesting when a character is the same way and thinks like I do that it might be the best option to just disappear, and then know what the people around me do about it in their life once I have passed by my own hands. It’s just a weird and fucked up thing I’m drawn to.
When i got this ending I cried. Mostly at seeing Basil dead. It physically hurt, and i alnmost felt suicidal in that moment. I connected and related to this game so much, that my therapist told me to never touch it again, as it pulls me down. I love it. So much. But this ending is the single most horrible thing i have experienced
Man this is just horrible to see because they literally lose two friends the same day to suicide. Hell, I feel like the three others might have wanted to kill themselves as well, especially Aubrey since she feels that it's her fault that Basil died.
Aubrey seriously takes the hardest hits here, because the suicides cause much heavier issues, along making her feel like she was to blame for them. And along with none of them knowing the truth... well, it's destructive.
Honestly, a post game of this would be extremely interesting. If I had to take a guess as to how a post game would play out, I'd say Hero would live on, but similar to how Sunny did, as a Hikikomori, which would result in him being thrown out forcefully by his parents, living in Basil's former house via his Caretaker, who would obviously be empathetic due to what happened. Kel, who, keep in mind, hasn't properly coped with Mari's death, would have to cope with 2 more deaths and with the pressure his parents are putting on him after throwing out Hero. Weirdly enough, from a logical perspective, Kel would be the most likely to kill himself. Obviously, it would be the most impactful one for Hero. Sunny and Basil were both clearly traumatised, Kel seemed cheerful by comparision, and had helped him through hard times. Hero's death would extremely likely follow soon as a consequence. The only thing we know for certain is that Sunny dies, it’s possible that Basil decides to live or is stopped by the group before he can jump and instead admits everything to them. Movies and media make it seem like the bodies of suicide jumpers splat or contort when they hit the ground when in reality, there’s usually little to no blood and they just hit the ground really hard. Sunny’s body would be a big shock to the group and a horrible sight, but it wouldn’t be deformed from the fall
In this neutral ending we know that Basil and Sunny die, Aubrey blames herself for Basil’s death, and Hero is hit very hard by Basil’s death (as seen from his shaky text). No one in the group knows the truth of what happened to Mari; to them, 3 of their closest friends committed suicide and they couldn’t save any of them. Sunny doesn’t even confront the past in this ending, he just dies
Edit: second paragraph is partly wrong. If you reach terminal velocity after 12 seconds of falling, your body will definitely explode when you hit the ground. Most hospitals are not tall enough to allow you to fall for that long though, so Sunny’s body would still be relatively intact

If you don't pick up the knife, sunny gets followed by his "manifestation of guilt" and is kept with trauma he never confronted anyone about,he leaves his friends too.

This whole 'fed him nothing' argument is BS too, because as far as we know the mother has been working AND putting food in the house for Sunny, it was just that *one* steak that was expired simply because the power had been cut off to the house, meaning that steak could’ve been perfectly fine had the power not cut off.
Secondly, if she didn’t care then she wouldn't have gone through all the trouble of buying a NEW HOME in an entirely new city in hope of letting Sunny get a new start in life. Even in the "bad ending" there's the possibility that the gang can save Basil, but here, we get none of that.
Aubrey blames herself for Basil's suicide, and by extension, most likely sunny. She's already not in the best mental state, so this most likely breaks her, and the hooligans don't provide her a good enough support structure for her to cope with it. She probably tries to hide away from the world, like she did after pushing Basil into the lake. I'm don't think she's going to off herself immediately, but she most certainly is going to be completely traumatized by it.
Hero already feels an immense amount of guilt for not being able to save Mari. Seeing two more of his friends, one of which he knew was deeply troubled do the same is the final straw. I doubt he lives much longer without following suit.
Kel is now having to deal with his friend group in complete shambles, permanently. Despite his best efforts to bring the group back together, most of his friends are dead, including his brother. The one that isn't has shut herself off from the world. He still has the rest of his family, including his little sister, so I don't think he's a goner, but he certainly isn't in the best state either.

With Kel and Hero, I think a fight after Aubrey's death would make Kel run away. He gets Mauled by a pack of coyotes or something. Hero eventually hears of it and blames himself for Kel's death. His parents eventually Kick them out because what will they do with a problematic young man? He's given up on all education and his future. I don’t think the good or bad ending could happen without trying to save Basil because he is integral to your discovering of the truth, especially with how involved he is with said events. A lot of Black Space is just Sunny taking out his anger and guilt out on Basil, one because he was partially responsible, but also because Basil's very existence is a constant reminder that "something" is wrong.

I love seeing these comments theorizing and stuff and honestly I think the representation of "something" is a really good metaphor for how committing su*cide/death in general can just pass the pain on to other people. so even if basil and sunny are free of their something in death, it will still move on to haunt their friends.

when i tell you i am absolutely in love with this game, i mean it
ive always loved psycological horror, and this game is honestly just perfect for it. the story is portrayed so nicely, accompanied with a genuinely stunning soundtrack and sfx. the storys timing and atmospherical portrayal was just on point. the characters are all relatable and serve their part in the story. before i got to the big twist, i got spoiled so unfortunately there wasnt a big shock to me :"D. but omocat is genuinley such a big inspiration to me, especially because of this story.
i dont get why people think this is poorly portraying dissociative identity disorder (DID), (which it literally has no connection to) since its pretty much all just a dream.
but point is, this game is a true masterpiece in my eyes, and i really think it doesnt deserve all the hate it gets. omori will forever hold a place in my heart, and be my biggest inspiration, as will omocat and their team.

I theorize that either Basil kills himself just like the night before Sunny moving out or Aubrey's conflict escalates to the point she actually (maybe unintentionally) murders him in a fit of rage.

SUNNY in a mixed hikikomori route where you open the door on three days left but dont on two days left. if you obtain basils photo album on 3 days left then dont open the door on 2 days left, i believe that all the photos would be scribbled out, signifying that SUNNY was the one who used the marker.

this ending literately did something to my stomach. the phone ringing at the end gives me chills. I just love the game and how every ending is well made.

This ending is even worse when you realise that basil and especially sunny died with the guilt and trauma of Mari's death and also died without telling the truth about Mari's "suicide" to Kel, Aubrey and Hero, which was their only wish because it would've lifted off a huge load off their backs but in this ending they died unsatisfied. Plus, when we talk to Hero before going into Basil's room he says 'Everything is going to be okay. *I think* ' note that he said I think in the same font as Basil's during the boss fight in the good ending, meaning that Hero is probably the next victim of something but with a heavier sense of guilt and trauma. If we look at Aubrey, she thinks Basil and Sunny committed suicide because of her bullying and she too, will probably commit suicide with that guilt as in headspace during various fights, Aubrey shows her emotions and depicts her emotions better than the others (we're excluding Omori here) and is VERY sensitive so it makes sense that she wouldn't be able to handle the feeling of guilt and will commit suicide too. Kel will lose all of his optimistic charm which helped him move on from Mari's death, making him more deppresed than ever. But y'know what's worse? Even after putting themselves to rest, "something" will probably still haunt Basil and Sunny in the afterlife and make them suffer even more, this time with no escape. But it switches over to Hero, the cycle will continue killing off the whole friend group. This trauma will most likely pass on to their parents too and will become and endless hard-to-break cycle.
I wonder how this would affect Aubrey's friends (yknow, the bully gang)

I think that Hero, Kel and Aubrey would feel very guilty of Sunny's suicide, because they left him go home alone. Especially Hero's guilt would probably kill him
I can't stop crying. I've been crying for a hour just because of how bad I feel for Aubrey, Hero, and ESPECIALLY Sunny and Kel. I NEVER thought I would see Kel cry. And plus, at 3:08 , I realized what Sunny was gonna do.

i think if aubrey were to see sunny’s death on her own, she would also begin to see a “something” like basil and sunny, but rather than the “something” being mari, it would vary between the two (more likely sunny i think… didnt she have a crush on him when she was little?)

And I thought the bad ending was fucked up… this is worse on a whole different level, the phone ringing from his mom, showing that she has just lost yet another child to “suicide”. And think about how Hero, Kel, and Aubrey would react. Imagine losing two of your best friends to suicide in less than 24 hours.
Less than 24 hours... Hell, less than 12. For all we know, Sunny shishkibabed himself mere minutes after he got home. MFer can fall asleep light a match in a hurricane, I doubt it would have been long.

Kel's reaction is the most heartbreaking thing in the game. Normally he's just so happy-go-lucky, rarely not wearing a wide grin, an then... that.

I know that this "canonically" isn't the true ending, but a bunch more games can be spun off from this. Like imagine a sequel which is just the aftermath of this ending. The studio that makes this game could mess around with shifting POV's, to each of the remaining friend group. I think it'd be the most interesting from Aubrey's POV since you can probably tell from all the theory comments about her blaming herself for the suicides.
Then imagine a prequel from Mari POV where we see her getting more and more troubled, with the finale of the game being her getting pushed off the stairs by Omori, leading to this game. It might not be too hard to imagine, since she was barely talking with the friend group anymore, and she might've been getting stressed out with piano practice and whatnot.
A Hero spin-off with this ending, a Kel spin-off with the abandon/moving day ending, and an Aubrey spin-off with the bad ending would be the bee's knees.

In this ending, there’s absolutely no possibility of the truth coming out. At least in the bad ending, Basil could still reveal it even though unlikely. Now both of them are dead and even if Sunny’s dad knows the truth, he’s fully out of the picture.

Aubrey has started being alcoholic, afraid to directly commit suicide.
Hero had committed suicide; blaming himself for Mari’s and Basil’s deaths and for sending Sunny home alone.
Kel was sent to psychiatric hospital.
That’s what I think would have happened after this ending.

It gives the audience that "childhood" essence.
Which makes you relate to the characters, its really well done.
This is just my theory but:
Sunny will probably try to kill himself soon after moving out,after choose the option not to pick up the knife.

The lightbulb represent the idea of escapism, headspace, as long as it's still there, Headspace still exists and Sunny still can escape the truth. However, after Sunny breaking it, Headspace no longer exist, thus why there's no more entrance to Headspace. Even with Sunny's moving out, I don't think there will be no hope left for Sunny to live. He can not escape, he can not move on, thus there's only one option, like the one you see in the Bad Ending.
this ending always made me feel so empty because of how much i love my family, and i can definitely see if this happened to a mothers son it'd be heartbreaking, especially after she thought sunny was doing alright or recovering a bit
I really like how it prompts you "save Basil" and not "enter the room". Sunny knows something terrible is going to happen and he has the choice to embrace yet another time escapism or just face reality.
The fact that the only ambient noise in the credits is Sunny's alarm clock... it's HAUNTING...

Hero, Aubrey and Kel believing Mari killed herself for 4 years, then Basil and Sunny doing the same thing soon after they get back together after Mari's death...
I'm sure it would break Kel, Aubrey would probably get way worse, and Hero would go back to when Mari just died. I wouldn't be suprised if our remaining 3 did the same after this ending
This is so tragic even worse is that they died taking the truth to their graves no one will ever know what truly happened and they are all traumatized

The way the credits roll silently on the black screen with only the ringing of the phone... Genuinely the most chilling ending in the game. Even the infamous My Time sequence, while horrific, is almost peaceful in it's finality, as Sunny gives in and lets himself fall into the dream forever. But here, there's only a hollow, anticlimactic ache, the ringing of the phone a foreboding, inescapable reminder of the real world that the boys have left behind. Not to mention how much more brutal and graphic the suicides in this ending are compared to the bad ending; we don't even see Sunny hit the ground in the bad ending.

Sunny's immediate reaction to Basil's death is horrifying by itself, as it's implications are... well, regression and further repression, plus him falling apart very soon after.
Add that onto the list of things that make the neutral/bad endings an absolute suffering for everybody...
Yeah he instantly tries to forget that he saw Basil like that, which would likely cause him to have repressed every memory related to Basil. Then since he experienced so much trauma, he would just let Omori keep him safe and that’s why he ended up killing himself through White Space.

Nahh.. it's not like he chose sleep over Basil. If Sunny doesn't save Basil, it's either that he overslept or more likely: he was too afraid to confront the truth and soothe Basil. Sunny is uncomfortable speaking, how does he go from that to talking someone down from suicide? If I were him, I'd be extremely worried too, but I'd try it anyway of course. It would just take immense strength, from Sunny, who's been using repression and denial since Day 1. Doesn't exactly scream mental strength and he knows it.
It's not that he chose sleep over Basil. It's that he chose fear. If he doesn't stop Basil, it means he used denial to pretend Basil would be okay. Because Sunny was scared of the truth again. Always. In this ending, anyway.
It's just awful, mari, basil, and sunny. And imagining them hearing about how sunny took his life the same night, it makes you wonder if the rest are going to as well, probably in order as, mari, basil, sunny, aubery, hero...kel.
I know this is rather gruesome to say but I genuinely want to know and see the others (characters) reactions and thoughts to Sunny’s suicide on top of Basil’s (more than just what has instantly happened. I want to hear what the characters do afterwards over the span of their lifetime or for however long the grief has lasted for each of them). As someone who as depression and has…tendencies, I find it intriguing and interesting when a character is the same way and thinks like I do that it might be the best option to just disappear, and then know what the people around me do about it in their life once I have passed by my own hands. It’s just a weird and fucked up thing I’m drawn to.
I got the bad ending where basil dies and you leave. I didnt know you could get a knife out of the kitchen... TIME TO REBEAT
When i got this ending I cried. Mostly at seeing Basil dead. It physically hurt, and i alnmost felt suicidal in that moment. I connected and related to this game so much, that my therapist told me to never touch it again, as it pulls me down. I love it. So much. But this ending is the single most horrible thing i have experienced
Man this is just horrible to see because they literally lose two friends the same day to suicide. Hell, I feel like the three others might have wanted to kill themselves as well, especially Aubrey since she feels that it's her fault that Basil died.
After that Kel, Aubrey and Hero gonna have their own whitespace
This game is one of the best games iv'e ever played. as simple as the grapics may seem.. the game, the story.. everything just draws you in..

Aubrey seriously takes the hardest hits here, because the suicides cause much heavier issues, along making her feel like she was to blame for them.
And along with none of them knowing the truth... well, it's destructive.
The domino effect isn't always good.
Honestly, a post game of this would be extremely interesting.
If I had to take a guess as to how a post game would play out, I'd say Hero would live on, but similar to how Sunny did, as a Hikikomori, which would result in him being thrown out forcefully by his parents, living in Basil's former house via his Caretaker, who would obviously be empathetic due to what happened. Kel, who, keep in mind, hasn't properly coped with Mari's death, would have to cope with 2 more deaths and with the pressure his parents are putting on him after throwing out Hero. Weirdly enough, from a logical perspective, Kel would be the most likely to kill himself. Obviously, it would be the most impactful one for Hero. Sunny and Basil were both clearly traumatised, Kel seemed cheerful by comparision, and had helped him through hard times. Hero's death would extremely likely follow soon as a consequence.
Aubrey, who is the last person standing, is probably at her limit already after Basil killed himself, so Sunny, Kel and even Hero killing themselves would push her over the edge, making her kill herself in the end as well.
In short, the entire post game would be a chain reaction of Sunny/Basil dying, ending in the death of the entire group
So... Can we all agree that there's a good to fair chance that they all commit die after that?

At best, Hero and Kel make it out, but as much as I love Aubrey, unless Kel and Hero learned their lessons and stay with her, she's... Yeah, she ain't living much longer.
