Simon is brilliant! I only discovered him maybe 5 months ago, but it was a revelation. I'm so grateful he even exists. Not only is he ridiculously funny, but like you said....he's a truly enlightened fascinating human being. But...while I'm only halfway into this video...the audience seems pretty receptive and into it. They don't seem that cold to me. Also...I think miking an audience well is _hugely_ important to recorded stand up comedy. The sound of the audience is integral to really enjoying a stand up performance. Poorly miked stand up is _horrible_ to watch. Even if the audience was truly loving it in the moment....if all I hear is crickets after each joke...it's just _awkward_ as fuck lol.
I saw him on Netflix! As an American, this type of comedy isn't used much, and never people talking about their sexuality on stage! This guy is seriously funny and an open person!
In all seriousness, being a famous British comedian is the highest achievement any comedian can aim for. Becoming famous in America always seems like a downgrade to me.
@@therabbithat I can't really argue with that, as I don't know any Brazilian comedians. Are there any good examples on UA-cam I can check out? With English subtitles, I'm afraid... my Portuguese is not great. In fact I have no idea if I'm spelling 'Portuguese' correctly.
A friend of mine (definitely not me, that would be disgusting), finds Mr Amstell really quite oddly beautiful, like a moth to a flame I am, I mean he is drawn in and there doesn't seem to be anything I, I mean, he can seem to do about it!

Hey Simon, it actually does matter where you are from. You with different genes would be a very different you. People with certain genes made certain cultures in particular geographical areas. Just saying.

He isn't a big deal in the UK. I have loved Simon's comedy for years & have been rooting for him to "make it big"....so happy to see him on my Netflix home page!!!!
Yes I always rated him. Reminds me of Jesse eusebberg
“This has nothing to do with you... this is an issue with your mother!” 😂😂😂😂😂
Why hasn’t he aged since the late nineties
