I know Simon should get most of the credit for the feeling of this show, but Miquita was ace too. Perfect stooge who couldn't quite contain her laughter.
I'd forgotten about this era. My memories go up until 2002 when I left school then start again about 2010 when I got married. From what I do remember this was hangover TV before going back out again the next night in that window when you could still smoke in pubs and clubs and when you woke up half the hangover was from the Lambert and Butler or Marlboro Lights if you thought you were cool (Lucky Strikes if you actually were...). Even though it was Popworld it was heavily weighted towards guys with guitars who wanted to be Joy Division and called themselves Pop out of irony. Most nightclubs you'd go to it'd be R&B club music like Usher. I'd like to say I miss these days, but I don't (genuinely I was a functioning alcoholic, I stopped drinking and smoking in 2009 and never looked back).
Simon Amstell's words were so fresh, new and fucking hilarious. He was great back then and his standup routine is top notch. Also, I fancied Miquita Oliver like crazy.
I think Goldfrapp sounds like a cross between a Bond villain and a mucky Australian milk/coffee, why I left this comment on this thread will be be a mystery forever.
I know who does she think she and the audience are. Those cheesy self help speeches probably work in America. She’s here promoting her tacky music so she can make lots of money.
if you wanna feel good about loving quality music, just notice how much of these pop artists and songs are completely forgotten today. 20 years from now, same will happen to the current bullshit music
The Dead 60's interview with the pull-down projector screen, so hilarious!!! What can you see? Despair. Interesting. Nicki from the Love Bites is such a cutie!

God the world has changed so much since 2005. There could never be a show where the presenter takes the piss of pop stars like this. They would all go on twitter after and complain.
So unusual for me to comment on celebrity these days but f**k me, ive just done a simon anstel marathon of best bits, and he could possibly be the funniest sharpest guy in british comedy history! Absolute genius without a single swear word either!!! Now that's talent ❤
