ALSO THE VIGOUR, AGILITY, ABSOLUTE TIMELINESS ON EVERYBEATH OF EVERY INSTRUMENT AND VOICE, ACCURACY AND THE LOVELY SMOOTH MOVEMENT OF THE MUSIC DIRECTR AND CNDUCTOR 👏 ONE IN A THOUSAND MILLION
Händel's Messiah is genius. And bold. Also scriptural. Wonder if he recognized the significance of the words; most were foretelling what is now unfolding, from a divine standpoint. The RMP has delivered this tough musical work beautifully, harmoniously, and with great clarity.
We thought we had a favorite performance of the complete Messiah until we watched this one! Suddenly, we had a new favorite!! We especially appreciated the worshipful presentation, giving honor to our great God incarnate, our Lord Jesus Christ. Beautifully done, flawless. Absolutely loved the pipe organ at the end, "transporting us to Heaven", giving us a little taste of what we have to look forward to when we are taken home to Heaven. The standing ovation and subsequent encore piece was the icing on the cake!
What a fresh and invigorating performance! And what a blessing to my spirit to be reminded of our coming King, the Lord Jesus Christ! Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Love the enthusiastic Wailes, "viking" style conductor, the confident young percussionist, those sweet, mellow violins and, of course the soloists...Bravi a tutti! Something delightfully good will, cheery Australian about this...
Georg Friedrich Handel left his mark on his time thanks to his intense and majestic compositions. In this vast fresco composed in 1741, Handel displays all the nuances of his consummate art of sound painting, recycling if necessary some of his Italian duets composed the same year. He drew his inspiration from the music of his native country, Germany, he was inspired by his numerous travels, particularly to Italy, and he was attached to the traditions of his adopted country, England. This oratorio is the subtle balance between the recitatives, few in number, the arias and the choruses contributes to the support of the dramatic action; the intensity is maintained, as is often the case, with great sobriety of means in the writing by virtue to the chord orchestration. His talent and this clever mix have made him one of the greatest composers still performed firmly in the prestigious operas. Many of the master's oratorios are still performed nowadays, but it is truly Messiah which left its mark on the history of music. Music accompanies life! *Lucien*
Outstanding performance. Solid tempos without rushing. No mannerisms. Excellent conducting direction and clarity of line and dynamics. Fully appropriate (and wonderful) use of the Grand Organ as an integral part of the full chorus sections. While not a period instrument performance esthetic, one nevertheless can sense that in spirit and intent this performance is perhaps rather amazingly close to the original 1742 Dublin performance goals, with a good bit of old George Handel's long career as opera and theatrical compose made evident here. Great video and sound, too! Listening to several Messiah performances this Christmastide, and this one is #1!
What a Heavenly performance. This is magnificent. Outstanding if I may say so. When I hear this it makes proud to call Jesus my savior and know how great God is. Thank you so much for uploading this wonderful concert of the greatest piece of music ever composed.
I saw and heard Sir Bernard Heinze on more than one occasion when he conducted Messiah in the Sydney Town Hall with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Hurlstone Choral Society. He always had an organist at the grand organ, a sine qua non for Messiah in my view.
Fabulous performance - I loved it all! I’m so glad there are time stamps in the description so that I can easily find my favourite movements 🙏 The encore was very special - the baritone running off to get his music, then giving the concertmaster his bouquet. Purists may disagree but the audience obviously loved it - what a brilliant idea, and so heartwarming 💖
I have heard quite a few Messiahs, I’m in awe with Georg Friedrich Handel unbelievable how people can listen to this of pure scripture, what a genius he was! 💖. Now I can’t sing for nuts but Anna Voshege don’t flame me but she seemed to be frowning when she should be showing delight and happiness. Also I was shocked that the solarists stayed seated during the Hallelujah Chorus, sorry tradition and respect too.
A superb performance, and very high audio/visual production values - thank you. We really enjoyed the local Christchurch Choir/CSO production in the superbly restored Douglas Lilburn auditorium (Christchurch Town Hall) last Saturday, although sadly there was no recording available.
2 Chronicles 20:20-30 in JESUS name! Thank YOU! LORD! FOR THE BREAKTHROUGH/DEFEAT OF THE ENEMY/COMPLETE VICTORY/REST IN OUR HABITATIONS...this is also prayed for ISRAEL as well as our situation...thank YOU! HOLY SPIRIT! FOR SETTING THIS TRAJECTORY OF EFFECYIVE PRAYER UP...
Fiona Campbell, what a beautiful voice, and she knows how to embellish in the right way, I don't really like it when she uses her chest voice a lot, it could be more discreet, but other than that she's perfect, her vibrato, everything about her is very beautiful

This performance is just brilliant . I have watched it twice over the course of the last week and what a delight indeed!

I've watched and listened several times now. This is the best Messiah I've heard.
It is obvious that the soloista have had acting lessons. This adds to the grandeur of Messiah.
All opera singers are trained in acting

Beautiful voice and arpeggio

As a Victorian who no longer lives in the country, it's really great to hear the Grand Organ 😊
Great time for listening to Handel's Messiah just before Christmas. Thanks.

I understand that the audience is touched by the powerful Hallelujah... but please... no applause during the entire work!
Es el número final de la 2da parte. Al igual que al finalizar la 1ra parte se aplaudió y, ¿cómo no aplaudir eso?
Great nice beautiful perforance congratulations

In Finland a school desided to cancel this performance for school kids, because it's "religious propaganda". I kid you not.
