I have always listened this piece from the Tabernacle Choir. This is Heavenly music and I love it still meaningful even after all these years. Thanks Mr Handel.
What a beautiful performance of a true masterpiece worshipping god and the Good News of Jesus Christ. Greetings from Germany, the home of Georg Friedrich Händel!
So often those who present this work concentrate on the beauty of the music, at the expense of the message. This presentation emphasizes the message. He Lives! The Messiah lives.
I agree with you, Vernon. I'm not a fan of Handel's offering of "The Messiah," as it is often done poorly and for the sake of doing it, IMHO. As a musician, I don't find it particularly interesting nor beautiful; however, the text is unmistakably strong, as it is direct scripture. Having said all that, my favorite chorus is "And With His Stripes We are Healed."

My husband Paul (now deceased) sang the Messiah with our local choir, every year for about 12 years. What a blessing it was to know this music intimately, and now to hear the great Tabernacle choir sing it. I'll be singing along.

I too performed it in college. Was the most challenging piece I had to do at the time, but soooo satisfying when I was able to complete it! Sooooo rewarding!!
I am ashamed I've never listened to the *entire* performance until now. The parts I had listened to I have always loved so I don't know what to me so long to discover this. I shall never miss out again: listening during the Easter Octave is now a tradition for me.
Incredibly talented artists donating their talents to witness the Savior of all humanity is a blessing to the World. Thank you. Each of you who performed in any way.
When my mum was with us, and younger, she sang for 25 years with the Huddersfield Choral Society, and they performed the Messiah every Easter and I was privileged to always have a ticket. I haven't heard it for some years now so I came across it this morning and thought - oh wow let me listen. I practically know if off by heart. The choir sang it well but not with the "welly" that the Choral gave this great work. But I am extremely grateful this Easter Sunday morning for this amazing experience and memory. @@schizoidman7916 It is a Yorkshire expression, I think. It means they really go for it and sing from the heart and soul. This reminds me of the early 70's in high school when our Concert Choir performed this. We started preparing about 5 months. It was difficult for 14 & 15 year olds. Our director constantly challenged us. I still love singing opera. Great rendition of The Messiah. I appreciate disciplined singers.
The Tabernacle Choir wonderfully expanded their repertoire when they added the full orchestra, as well as a full bell choir. I have sung in three performances of the Messiah in California, Washington and Nebraska, and have come to love the way the music and words from the King James Version of the Bible bring the Good News of the Savior, Jesus Christ, to life in the listeners' hearts.

This is the first time I have watched this video, but it will certainly not be the last. The music and lyrics of The Messiah are to cherished frequently.
This reminds me of the early 70's in high school when our Concert Choir performed this. We started preparing about 5 months. It was difficult for 14 & 15 year olds. Our director constantly challenged us. I still love singing opera.
Great rendition of The Messiah. I appreciate disciplined singers.
We sang it too in high school one year! Best choir experience ever!
Thank you from Slovakia!
Handel's Messiah is one of the most incredible pieces ever done! The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square is the most incredible choir and does such an excellent job with Messiah! This touches me every time I listen to it. Thank you for this!
Mr Handel Alleluia ! Praise be to God The Almighty Father for your God given talent we can feel The Presence of The Eternal Father with your absolute Powerful Music
Wow! I take it Mr. Handel was 'tight' (close) with GOD. No mere mortal could make such divine music. Happy Easter 2021 all!
素晴らしい演奏をありがとうございます。
みなさまのおかげで、今日も生かされています。
挨拶と美しい言葉を胸に、自己の心の陶冶という高い目標に到達すべく、今後とも精進します🇺🇸
I guess he could "handle" it!
This reaffirms my knowledge of the Saviour Jesus Christ. I'm grateful for such moving performances which move me to seek to reconcile with God and to feel His presence through the Holy Spirit. I know that my Redeemer lives.
I feel the same. I don't deserve what God has done for the rebellious human race. I don't want to neglect such a wonderful salvation. I bless the Name of the Lord. No word would ever been significant enough to thank Him.
Thank you dear Jesus 🙏🏾
Amen!
The best classical album under the sun is Handel's messiah 🌟🌟🌟🌟🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
God Almighty really guided Handel to arrange this music.
This is how I like to celebrate Easter, and also Christmas. Handel's Messiah is inspired.
Ein Meisterwerk von Händel meisterlich aufgeführt. Danke an alle Mitwirkenden.
Ich stimme zu! Es ist eine wunderbare Aufführung der Darsteller und es bringt Gott Ehre.
IN THE MIDST OF WAR, PAIN, FEAR, & HORIFFIC LOSS,; GOD CHOOSES: HOPE, LOVE, & COMFORT BEYOND OUR UNDERSTANDING TO SHOW US AN EVERLASTING AND ABSOLUTE LOVE FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!🤗❤️😇😍🌈🌈🌈💥⚡️🙏😉👱🏻
I have participated in choral performances with some of these songs. And I felt that God was standing over the roof of the hall and listening to our performance. The Holy Spirit has inspired their author, for God's glory!
Christ is risen . Rebirth and Happy Easter to the Whole World. Hallelujah . Amen
From my childhood, we sang this every year at Easter...What beauty is in this piece!! F. Becker
happy easter too everyone around the world
thank you for this very beautiful music .... our ever favorite! super performance! ....from a Filipina who's enjoyed this every year for almost 50 years and never tire of Handel's genius re God's love narrated with music!
I was so blessed to sing this lovely cantata in special chorus in high school, when God had not dismissed as He is today. Absolutely lovely!
Me three!😘 I went onto University Music School, but ended up an ER/TRAUMA RN for 40 years.......I’ll always remember being inspired and blessed, singing Glory to My Savior and My God! 💕💜✝️✡️🕊🙏🙋♀️🌹
Imagine hearing it in heaven. I suspect it is on the playlist!
Thank you Jesus. Thank you Handel,. Thank you the Tabernacle Choir & Orchestra
Halleluja! The emperors of darkness will not be able to destroy such glory and faith - not even with their tightest evil technologic controls - Christ is risen - and truth shall at the end prevail, with beauty, honesty and divine musical triumph.
The audience appreciation after the Hallelujah 🤩🤩✝️🕯️🎶👊🏻
I can’t imagine anyone thumbing down on this.
The scripture tells us that not everyone but only a few will accept or acknowledge Christ's sacrifice on their behalf.
The Book of Mormon revealed that there will be opposition in all things, light and darkness but the God of the universe Jesus Christ will prevail .
I would imagine it's the lack of masks; people probably aren't looking at the description and realizing that this is a recording.
It just never gets old, too heavenly
The solemn comfort of this masterpiece is irreplaceable
OUR BELOVED CHRIST .HUMANITY IS IN HIS HANDS.HE SAID:"I'LL BE WITH YOU TILL THE END OF TIME!
❤❤❤
I'm listening at Christmastime and my Daddy used to play this every Christmas and Easter. What a comfort, and this is performed beautifully as well! My eldest son has performed the 1st tenor aria and serves as a testimony that you can never start your children's and grandchildren's appreciation for the classics.(He was listening in diapers with Grandpa.)
