    As an acrylic painting newbie I really like the way you teach. I've tried one of your paintings...I think you called Moody Seascape from around two years ago and it came out really nice. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

      I really appreciate it very much, thank you!! You just have to break down the information you’re seeing and simplify it!

      Mainly the building, but it was just to show how you can capture a scene fast loose without too much details!

    I'm a drummer who has decided to try my hand at painting. You have inspired me to proceed! The ability to follow you in real time through the whole process is the key. I've seen others who speed things up or have background music, which can be soothing but prevents any verbal instruction. I love the way you not only thoroughly demonstrate, but you explain why. I've mimicked about a dozen of your paintings and they actually look pretty good! I've tried one so far on my own, using a reference photo, and it isn't bad! Some issues I've encountered are keeping the right amount of paint and water on the brush, how to avoid paint clumping, how to clean the brushes, and I struggle some with stroking techniques. Trying to stay loose as you say. Also, knowing when to use lights, darks, and muted colors to create depth confuses me some. At any rate, thank you so much for your wonderful inspiration. I can see myself becoming a decent painter and being quite satisfied with this Impressionistic style as an end in itself! I love the way it conveys the whole vibe...the feel, the essence.

      Thank you Tommy, I’m really glad that my videos helped advance a bit!! I know what it feels like at the beginning, that’s why I try to cover everything and why I do it, some just don’t and I used to get frustrated. I had to piece all the information form here and there! But I’m glad you’re advancing. Starting October, I’ll be starting Zoom classes where people can interact and ask questions. Classes will be up to 1.5 hours and we can interact instead of typing, and the fee will be $35/class and up to only 10 people. I’ll be posting classes on my Facebook page:

      Are you done posting videos on UA-cam since you’re doing the zoom

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks  11 місяців тому +1

      @@ganjajay good question, yes! The difference will be that you can vocally interact with me and ask questions and I can take more time to explain the answer, and each class will be about 1.5-2 hours long. And I can teach individually on Zoom as well!

    @Gebahi Artworks I live on the gulf coast too and have been wanting to do plein air with my acrylics, but haven't a clue how to keep them from drying out so darn fast. I don't use Golden Open either. I notice you don't use much water with yours. Is that the way you also do en plein air? Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks  Рік тому +2

      Good question, I do like the Golden open acrylics for this purpose, I’ve used them in plein air before and they work out great giving you enough time to blend! But if you don’t have Golden Open Acrylics there are other ways. One, you can use a slow drying medium for acrylics, and/or I have a video on the subject, here is the link:
