Hi......today I tried applied Dorlands wax one coat over my blue background...then applied another colour yellow...I noticed that however I rubbed the yellow with water I didn't smudge with blue and wax accepted gouache as it is...it's beautiful and useful...that means I could apply a layer of gouache without messing up with underneath layer? Is this real? Please comment. I usually use Dorlands wax for final varnish of my watercolour and Gouache.
@@sujanithtottempudi2991 it just says fixative on the can, they sell it in art store! Just ask your local art store if they sell a spray fixative. People who draw with graphite pencils use it to layer their drawing without smearing the under layer!
Love the color mixing explanations.
I’m Floridan and can associate with your tropical paintings. Love the way you explain the color mixing. I’m going to give it a try at your style.
Thank you very much Carmen!!

More gouache pls....Thank you.
Thank you Mike, I’ll do my best!!
Hi Karim really love this painting, is it best to use gouache for smaller pieces and use acrylic or oils for larger ones 😁
I would say so! I wouldn’t go higher than 11x14 without a lot of pre mixing. Any higher and I would use acrylics or oils!
@@GebahiArtworks thanks Karim great advice
@@jeffsayer2888 my pleasure!

I don’t think it’s a good idea to paint gouache over wax! Maybe a fixative would have been better for that purpose.
@@GebahiArtworks which fixative can be used?
