Great tutorial thankyou...inspires me to paint local coastal scene down in New Zealand 😊
Thank you Claire!!! Have fun!!
Excellent tutorial! Thanks
Thank you Pamela!!!
Thank you for showing not to be afraid of water. That may be why my acrilic basics won't MOVE. Great rendition. ❤
Thank you, I’m glad it was helpful!! Keep pushing!
Your painting was so much more expressive and interesting than the photo! I learned so much watching you!! Thank you!
Thank you very much Cindy!!!
Wow your painting is more vibrant than the photo!
Thank you very much!!!
You really captured the shadow and light. You make acrylics look so easy to blend. I love how you describe the colors you mixed. I look forward to following your guidance. Thank you.
Thank you so much!!!
One of my favorite artists on UA-cam. It’s hard for me to find loose style in acrylics. You also give great tutorials. Love how you talk through it all.
I Totally appreciate it, thank you!!!
Thanks for the tutorial, but I still have issues getting the right color!. Will it be bc I do not have the same type of red and brand of Colors.?
@@justicenoapart that may be or the mixing is off! If you’re using a cad red vs alizarin crimson it will make a difference! Cad red is more opaque and will make a muddy dark, so you have to use less of it. Alizarin crimson is semi transparent and makes a nice dark when used with ultramarine blue and a little burnt umber! Other than that, cad red shouldn’t be an issue. When using with greens to tone down the greens, just use little amounts of red.
Very nice painting. I feel like resting under those trees, enjoying the seascape. Thanks for the tutorial.
My pleasure, thank you for watching!!!
Alan Dershowitz say thank you for the excellent videos you are posting. I am perfectly serious when I say that you’re a very quiet, laid-back and informative videos and style of teaching has helped me more than any other video series. I haven’t watched in ages.I am subscribed. I have been drawing and painting forever, and basically started out as being self-taught. I have been teaching some and I plan on utilizing some of your techniques and information to help me be a better teacher… And a better artist. I started playing air painting about a year ago and your videos are also helping with that. I’m sharing it with quite a few other artist friends I have, and I would love to see your channel grow.
I thank you very much for the compliments, I’m humbled, I try to break down the info to its simplest form, making it easier to digest! I hope I can continue to inspire you in your work and show you what is possible. Thank you for sharing my work with others, I truly appreciate it Alan!!
Thank you! Amazing color mixing. Great rendition! Yours is better! 🌞
Love your style of keeping it loose. I always get caught up in the details and these videos help a lot!!
That’s where things go sideways and get discouraged! Only take what is important from the scene and leave the rest, or at least blur it out!
This video was lengthy, but WORTH IT! Thank you for the instruction and inspiration!
lol, thank you, and that’s why I try to keep it short, but then you’ll miss some important details!
A sunny calm day on a tropical beach is unbelievable.
It’s always nice!!
Gorgeous!!! I totally agree with the poster who said your painting is much prettier than the reference photo!
Thank you very much Desiree!!!
You are such a good painter!! I thoroughly enjoy watching anything you tackle. You make it look so easy and inspire me to pick up my paints. And you do have some pretty funny commentary here and there. Thank you for your videos.
Thank you very much Lisa, I try the best I can!!
Amazing! I had not seen your way of layering, blending and drying as you go. It adds a whole new dimension to acrylic painting. Really your 'eye' mixing colors also amazes me. Many thanks to you! Best to you Fran NM USA
Thank you so much Fran!! It’s all about the illusion of detail!
Awesome, the high lights of the tree structure really completed your idea. Thanks
Thank you!!
Thank you. I really enjoyed the video, your style and explanation. I would enjoy it more if I could see your reference photo the whole time. I do enjoy seeing you mix the colors on your palate.
Thank you! Will do!!
1:45 i am enjoying your art immensely. Love your easy manner. A voice i like to hear. Learning so much. Thank you. I am 85 years old and love to paint. ❤
Wow, thank you!, I’m very flattered!!! I’m glad you’re picking up that brush!
Hi Gebahi, have only just discovered you a couple of days ago and I am so excited that I did! Loving your style of painting, there are other wonderful artists that I also am following but only one who paints in a mostly impressionist style and he too is an amazing and talented gentleman.I’m looking forward to now be following and learning from you as well.thank you so very much your time, your manner of teaching and the fun and enthusiasm,it’s catching!!!
Thank you so much, I truly appreciate it Christine!!
Where in Florida are you at ? Are you in any Exhibitions..
@@user-kl7fm2lt1r I’m in west palm beach! I thought of doing exhibitions but really can’t find the time.
I just discovered your tutorials too!
Thank you so much! I forgot to just relax and paint. I was trying too hard to be perfect
You're an awesome teacher! ❤
@@margarethisbeloved4018 that’s the pitfall of a lot of beginners, feeling the need to be perfect right out the gate, and being too detailed! Your initial stage should be loose and use it as a roadmap to the next stage of the painting. By painting loose, you enjoy the process carefree and paint what’s important or what catches your eye in a scene in a quick fashion. From there Lyon can adapt and add more detail if you choose to!
Great painting and video. Really enjoyed watching. Thank you. 🙂
Thank you very much, I appreciate it!!!
I’m new here and absolutely love your style of painting. You give me hope !! And encourage me to relax and not to paint so uptight. Thank you.
I’m happy thank you, hopefully now you can relax when painting and not stressed about your next stroke!!
Thank you for this demonstration working in acrylic’s, it’s my favourite medium. Lovely work.I tend to be too rigid and tight with my technique. This video is a good example of how to loosen up! Hello from Ontario 🇨🇦
Thank you, I’m glad you find it refreshing, it’s just more relaxing and has more feel to it! I’ve always loved loose paintings and they capture movement.
This is a great painting demonstration video. Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much!!!
I love to watch you paint, I learn so much, The train sound off in the distance in the background , the lack of annoying music is so relaxing! ❤❤❤
Thank you very much Teresa!!!
I appreciate you all for the support!!
Thank you so much for demonstrating this way of painting! So beautiful.
I'm glad you like it, thank you!!
I've been seeing this painting go by as I'm trying to find watercolor help.....YOU are the most down to earth, best artist I've seen!!!!! I'm going back to acrylics. Best teaching , AND your in Florida!!!!! Could tell by the sea color and sand!!!!!! Great videos!!!!!!! So glad I clicked it!!!!!!
Thank you so much Mary, I really appreciate it!!!
I painted this painting with you and I really enjoyed it. You’re amazing.
Thank you, I’m really happy to hear that, I’ll try have more for you!!
Loved this tutorial , looking forward to trying it.
Most definitely try it, and have fun doing it!!!
Painting it at the minute and learning so much from you.Plus not using an awful lot of paint which I used to do before.I’m using Windsor and newton student range but will invest in Liquitex heavy bodied after Christmas. It’s amazing when I’m mix up the same colours you use , the ones I have don’t give the same hue but I’m managing around it and it’s Realy great.Even now the picture has great depth and the tones are great and I was delighted to get the clouds finished yesterday. So thank you so much again for your brilliant channel💕
@@user-ik2it2tq2q I’m happy that you’re seeing progress in your work!! Build that confidence, once you do that, all will start falling Into to place. Once you get the liquitex, try redoing the same painting and hold them side by side and see!
I love your eye for colors & details and your own impression
Your teaching skills are awesome but for much more advanced painters. I’m scared to even start painting! But enjoyed watching you paint🫶👨🎨
Don’t be scared Debbie, once you jump in is the only way to practice and work on any mistakes! How are you going to know that you’re doing something wrong when you haven’t started! You’ll learn from many mistakes, just as I have. When a baby walks for the first time and falls, does it stop trying to walk ? No, it keeps trying and quickly starts figuring out what not to do and what works, like going slow and working on balance! So please dive in and and see what what you can do and just learn to adapt, you might surprise yourself and realize you’ve wasted so much time pondering instead of working on what could have been a great success! I just want you to go for it!
Makes it come more alive by putting in the branches , good idea 👍🏻 ❤
Thank you, noted!!
Beautiful results from your style of work! Always a pleasure to see!
Thank you!!!
Stunning. You sure know how to mix the colors you need.
Thank you very much, I appreciate it!!!
Me. Gebahi you are best painter I have seen thank you for teaching and explain in details. Greetings from Bosnia
Thank you very much Munevera, I appreciate it!!!
It's so beautiful, full of realism, I want to go and sit under the shade of those trees. Thank you for such wonderful art.

Beautiful work 😊, I li’ke how easy you describe what your doing and for me it all makes sense 👍🏻🙏
Thank you so much 😀!!!
This video inspired me to begin doing small, loose learning/practicing paintings using simplified landscapes. I want to loosen my style to a more painterly feel with a secondary goal of being able to do some respectable plein air panting. Thank you for your excellent teaching.
Go for it!!! I love this style as well, definitely helps when plein air painting!!
Awesome pic!! You make it look so easy and explain every step so well. Big Thank you!
My pleasure Eileen, thank you for supporting my channel!!
Wonderful painting tutorial and great artwork 👌 👍
Thank you very much!!!
I used to use acrylics and now paint with oils. I paint with an pleinair group of artists and many are trying acrylics. I send them your tutorials all the time, I wish You were around years ago when I used this medium. There wasn’t much instruction back then. Thankyou for giving hope to those who struggle in the dark.💜🌈
Anytime Roxanne!! You can also try Golden Open acrylics, great for plein air! I’ve done some videos using Open Acrylics!
Love your work and it’s beautiful I was painting with oils but Iam a messie painter so when back to acrylics Love Golden open paint thank you somuch
@@selmawrightson6949 thank you very much Selma!!! Golden Open does have it’s advantages.
Yep

@@louisepoole6044 thank you very much Louise, I appreciate it very much, I’m trying to put out simplified content more often!! Do you prefer acrylic or oils?
@@GebahiArtworks
I enjoy both oils and acrylics....so choose your paint!😊 Thanks for asking. Much appreciated 🙂🦋 Would love to see an oil painting of 3 butterflies done in Impressionism 🦋🦋🦋😊, simple of course🌠🌻🌿
@GebahiArtworks
Hi Gebahi, what I was meaning to say...about the butterflies...just a couple butterflies 'on the wing'...in flight in a patch of mixed wild flowers? Just a wish...but anything you paint is awesome...So paint!😊🦋
Another winner! It’s beautiful☺️
Thank you! 😊
I love love love how you describe how to paint I just started painting when Covid hit, i am 76 yrs young and I wish they had a college I could go to and learn how to paint i know nothing about values you explain everytthng so well. Ilove how you paingt, its like you put these colos on the canvas and looks like nohting then you have a master piece. Do you use a little water on your paints when you paint.
Thank you very much John, I really appreciate it !! I’m glad at least that you picked up a brush and as you keep practicing you’ll notice the difference. Keep the first painting and compare it to later paintings and see how far you’ve come along!
Beautiful - must try out a seascape like this.❤
Have fun!!!
I'll definitely be trying this one...great painting!
Have fun!!
Just ordered those brushes. I like LONG handle brushes also.
I truly you’re going to like them , they smoot when applying paint! Thank you for your support!!!
Excellent tutorial was so enjoyable I learned a lot
Thank you very much!!!
Always love your work. Gouache also works. Thank you.
Thank you very much!!!
Very good tutorial
And great artist
Many Thanks
Thank you very much Matt!!!
I just completed this tutorial, painting along with you. As a novice painter, I recently discovered “loose” style painting. Your painting and teaching is relaxing and I’m pleased with my finished work. I like your limited color palette, and your quick sketches to start. I admit struggling some to keep up with the mixing 😊. I’m debating which of your tutorials to do next. Any suggestions? My thanks!
I’m glad your enjoying this Beverly!! Sorry I can’t slow down the mixing, have to paint a little quickly because of the drying times. Here is a video you might want to try:

I just discovered you this morning on my UA-cam recommendations. I loved watching this. Very well explained. Your final piece is more beautiful than the photo. I also appreciate your links below. Looking forward to watching your other videos.

Thank you so much!!!
Very interesting approach Will look out for more demos
Cool, thanks!!!!
Very good, enjoyable video .In the end, you started to add all the details though❤
Thank you very much!! You can add details to your liking as you have built the foundation already. So much details you add is to your preference! I put just enough to give the illusion of detail. You’ll see that in my new tutorial coming out today at 2pm eastern time!
I totally love this .
Thank you very much!!!
Just love it!
Thank you!!
Love this, haven't seen you post anything for a while, great to see you again.😊
Thank you very much Margarita, between work and doing home renovations I tried to sneak a few tutorials in between!!
Thank you.
My pleasure!!
New video coming out today around 2pm eastern time!
I think I’m in awe of your brushes. I cannot believe how your paint glides over the canvas. I would have gone through twice as much paint as you have to get the same coverage. How do the bristles hold up for you? Are they holding their shape well? By the way…beautiful painting!
Thank you very much Beth!! They are holding up very well, they hold just enough water in the Bristles. They hold their shape if you clean them after each session, sometimes I neglect to, Lol!! For sharp lines I use either a liner, which they do sell in that line, or I buy some cheap synthetic brush for sharp edges, such as in the ones I use in the new video that’s about to come out tomorrow!! Stay tuned and click subscribe and and notification button, you’ll be made aware as soon as it’s uploaded!

Thank you Jim! They synthetic bristle brushes made by Princeton. They are the catalyst series!
Great ❤🌻
Thank you!!!
Beautiful ❤😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful; helpful; wonderful technique. What kind of paints? They seem to stay moist for so long!
Thank you, it was a combo of liquitex professional and Golden heavy body acrylics, but the brush is what was holding the moisture real well!! They became my favorite, the link to those brushes is in the description!
New to painting. Need more info on managing pallette...acrylics and water.
Thanks
