      Thanks for the tutorial, but I still have issues getting the right color!. Will it be bc I do not have the same type of red and brand of Colors.?

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks  11 місяців тому +1

      @@justicenoapart that may be or the mixing is off! If you’re using a cad red vs alizarin crimson it will make a difference! Cad red is more opaque and will make a muddy dark, so you have to use less of it. Alizarin crimson is semi transparent and makes a nice dark when used with ultramarine blue and a little burnt umber! Other than that, cad red shouldn’t be an issue. When using with greens to tone down the greens, just use little amounts of red.

    Alan Dershowitz say thank you for the excellent videos you are posting. I am perfectly serious when I say that you’re a very quiet, laid-back and informative videos and style of teaching has helped me more than any other video series. I haven’t watched in ages.I am subscribed. I have been drawing and painting forever, and basically started out as being self-taught. I have been teaching some and I plan on utilizing some of your techniques and information to help me be a better teacher… And a better artist. @@margarethisbeloved4018 that’s the pitfall of a lot of beginners, feeling the need to be perfect right out the gate, and being too detailed! Your initial stage should be loose and use it as a roadmap to the next stage of the painting. By painting loose, you enjoy the process carefree and paint what’s important or what catches your eye in a scene in a quick fashion. From there Lyon can adapt and add more detail if you choose to!

      Don’t be scared Debbie, once you jump in is the only way to practice and work on any mistakes! How are you going to know that you’re doing something wrong when you haven’t started! You’ll learn from many mistakes, just as I have. When a baby walks for the first time and falls, does it stop trying to walk ? No, it keeps trying and quickly starts figuring out what not to do and what works, like going slow and working on balance! So please dive in and and see what what you can do and just learn to adapt, you might surprise yourself and realize you’ve wasted so much time pondering instead of working on what could have been a great success! I just want you to go for it!

    I just completed this tutorial, painting along with you. As a novice painter, I recently discovered “loose” style painting. Your painting and teaching is relaxing and I’m pleased with my finished work. I like your limited color palette, and your quick sketches to start. I admit struggling some to keep up with the mixing 😊. I’m debating which of your tutorials to do next. Any suggestions? My thanks!

      I’m glad your enjoying this Beverly!! Sorry I can’t slow down the mixing, have to paint a little quickly because of the drying times. Here is a video you might want to try:

      Thank you very much!! You can add details to your liking as you have built the foundation already. So much details you add is to your preference! I put just enough to give the illusion of detail. You’ll see that in my new tutorial coming out today at 2pm eastern time!

    I think I’m in awe of your brushes. I cannot believe how your paint glides over the canvas. I would have gone through twice as much paint as you have to get the same coverage. How do the bristles hold up for you? Are they holding their shape well? By the way…beautiful painting!

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks  Рік тому

      Thank you very much Beth!! They are holding up very well, they hold just enough water in the Bristles. They hold their shape if you clean them after each session, sometimes I neglect to, Lol!! For sharp lines I use either a liner, which they do sell in that line, or I buy some cheap synthetic brush for sharp edges, such as in the ones I use in the new video that’s about to come out tomorrow!! Stay tuned and click subscribe and and notification button, you’ll be made aware as soon as it’s uploaded!

      Thank you, it was a combo of liquitex professional and Golden heavy body acrylics, but the brush is what was holding the moisture real well!! They became my favorite, the link to those brushes is in the description!
