I just dont understand why you chose to mix a song with the same song to demonstrate. Why wouldn't you use to distinctive songs we can hear the base line change

Just picked up a numark party mix controller as a beginner and realized it only has bass and treble EQ. How much of a hindrance is not having a mid control going to be? Mostly interested in tech house and possibly some deep minimal drum & bass / dub. Is there anything software wise that would make up for it?
Id say its imperative specially if your not using effects. Deep tech is specially best mixed with all eqs to allow nice blending between long intro outtro tracks that are used in tech tracks. www.mixcloud.com/Tom_O/on-a-mental-hiatus/ This mix is all eq mixed as an example.

I think you overexagerated the percentage of bass. High can be way more than 5% depending on the genre of course.
