Black Friday Sale now live: www.clubreadydjschool.com/club-ready-dj-course/ I added so much new content and bonus material - I have been devoting so much love and energy to it these past few months, hopefully you like :)
Andrew is the Bob Ross of DJing... "Just have a little fun with it... maybe put a little slip roll in here... there that sounds nice... maybe a little filter effect in there... Yeah just have some fun with it" Awesome guy!
There is usually a splash out or fade on the last beat of most songs too. I usually set my 8th cue point to that beat so that at any moment I can jump to that and press play on the next song at the same time. Instant transition with no effort or worries :)
I've not even watched this yet and I already know it's going to be massive. Last night I spent about 3 hours working out the best way to get some dubstep in to my drum and bass mixes and then you drop this... Fate!
I’ve been getting back into having fun DJing and learnt so much from your videos. Now I just watch them for your positive energy and infectious attitude. Such a top dude!
Dude, I absolutely accidentally discovered this video, but the vibe that you give is what made me watch this whole thing from start to finish! Awesome tips explained in an easy & understandable way! Great stuff man.
i get a feeling you love music more than this DJing "thing" and you DJ just to ensure the music is not compromised and end up damaging our ears or spoil the mood. I love your channel very much. Keep it up.
Honestly your energy is so radiant and encouraging I would probably sit here and watch a tutorial on best practices for corporate tax filings as long as you were teaching. Couldnt hurt to know Im sure. Keep doing what youre doing.
I was looking for videos on how to mix different genres and bpm's and your video came first. I honestly have butterflies as this Saturday i play for my first private party..I've always played House music but now I'm playing other genres and watching your video has REALLY HELPED ME. I cant wait to go and practice. Thankyou so much.
It’s all about the crowd i totally agree I do parties and there all open format so it’s anything from 70 bpm to 135. This is a good break down for a beginner DJ. Being a club DJ is so much easier your playing one genre of music maybe 2 todays DJ don’t use headphones and SYNC! I don’t knock it but definitely learn how to mix without it.
Another cool high bpm transition is creating a un-quantized loop on the first track where there's a vocal and matching the size of that loop to the faster songs beat grid, then you create a vocal loop which can be beat matched to the next song.
Well explained- I’m mostly open format and have to execute all 3 transitions on a daily. Makes it fun especially when you’ve never done a particular transition before and you don’t know if it will be on point or sound like something you might need to take back to the drawing table.
A lot of music is being commercialized now. Personally I tend to listen to tracks that the general public doesn’t. You don’t always have to mix harmonically just try your best not to get too crazy with the variations. If your playing House you can mix Tech House, Deep House, Electro House, Dance and some Electro Pop. I’m not crazy about using transition tracks but there are a lot on record pools. These days I have one record pool and buy WAV tracks on Beatport / BeatSourse. Lol, Drunk people aren’t going to hear 150 BPM to 110 BPM. As always a pleasure to watch your videos Andrew.
I haven’t even got my own mixer yet and I feel you have taught me how to DJ 😂, Serioisly the best teacher on UA-cam and the positive energy in your videos is amazing. I’m loving every single one of them. Seriously please just keep doing what you are doing and you will have 1M subs in no time, saving up for you course when I get a mixer 😁👍
I just discovered slip rolls the other day as I was looking through the setting on my controller but didn't really play with it too much yet. After seeing your video I'm totally going to try it out to jump to a higher bpm for the second track
How has this channel not hit over 100k subs, this man is so experienced on the decks I’ve done a DJ course beginner and intermediate but I am seriously thinking about doing this course I think I will learn lots from his course!!👍🏻👍🏻
Logged in just to say huge respect. Been a club Dj for over 6 years and your advice for newcomers is spot on. Sometimes you have to sacrifise your “planned set” or “comfortable mixing” to change up those genres to adapt to the moment. A lot of young djs believe all they need to do is come in and play their prepped 1hr set. Keep pushing that advice and you will slowly make this industry better. Top work mate, subscribed
You are an absolute legend! You have to be one of the most natural, positive creators out there. I recently bought a DDJ400 and this is my go to channel for tips and inspiration. I have my own YT channel - nothing to do with DJing. I've always tried to come across as natural and positive as possible. This channel is the best as not only am I learning about DJing, I'm actually picking up presenting tips as well! All the best dude 🙌
I usually multiply it. Like if I had a 70.5 bpm on a song, I’d find some with a 141 to match it. I haven’t learned a lot yet given I just started but the best is to come
Love this!! I hope I can add a bit. Backspin once and then drop it. I also tried to increase the tempo in the breakdown and then switch in the verse. Sometimes you are lucky and one song fits into the other because it is about twice as fast.
For real Though some of the most fun videos to watch, I can’t tell you how many different channels I’ve watched, this is by far the most beneficial video I’ve seen. I gotta agree with everyone else, this was the most fun ive ever had while watching a tutorial video and the vibes, energy, you can hear and feel the true passion and love for what you do! Thanks for making these and can’t wait to see what else you have in store!
I've been asked to Dj at a party with like barely any experience. I don't even own a deck. However I can use one and I've been stressing a bit due to the inexperience. I've been scouring UA-cam for decent transition videos but they all are so complex and your video is absolutely brilliant mate. It's easy-going, well explained and you make me feel so at ease to kill that party :D Thanks for that bro! Take care
Can I just say: with the RMX 1000 effects is so much easier to get out of a track making the same effects that he did. Even when you think you are making a mistake with the out of track effect it sounds good. Give it a try, it's not cheap (glad I got a discount) but I just love it and I would take everywhere with me, the effects sound more professional
Another fantastic tutorial.. I like the idea of the slip roll blend transitions & yes people love hearing tracks they recognise and.. I speed up slow down the pitch.. because it fun, I have VDJ and Nurmark party mix and still the same transition, how ever it’s easier doing on a controller as you have more control..
There's a simple way to mix 2 tracks when there's about up to 20 BPM. Simply mix them an 1/2 way BPM Example to go from 100 BPM to 120 BPM, I increase the 100 BPM track to 110 and decrease the 120 BPM to 110. Or Vice-Versa. It's not rocket science and won't sound as ridiculous as increasing a track from 100 to 120 BPM
@@timclarkmain4561 Indeed, on vocal tracks you gotta have to be careful and use smaller steps. And BTW I like how you call it "stair steps". It illustrated so well the method
I’m 20 & I have a pretty great song selection especially for clubs but I feel like I get too focused on the bpms and mixing that I forget to feel the crowd and play the right song
Andrew, any plans to do anything with Vinyl soon? I'm an oldskool tragic, denying my mid life crisis through a pair of 1210's and spending a fortune reliving the soundtrack of my yoof on Discogs...
Don't sell your TT. It's all fun. I am looking for the best of both worlds and want to share that. I am also good with my vinyl and would love it if Andrew put down a vinyl mix! His course brought me a lot of development.
This sounds awesome but my old Technics 1200's died long ago - would involve me buying more - perhaps buy my course - haha - contribute to the cause ;) xoxox
OMG you are literally a life saver. Thank you so much for breaking this down and giving me some cool stuff to play around with. Also I love that you look like you're having so much fun with it 😂 that's how it should be!
Love u dude! You look like a guy who I'd like to learn from. You are so passionate about Dj-ing , as we can tell it quite easy. Keep it up bro! and again love yours lessons!

Its rare to see DJs adjusting Bass to give a smooth sound transition from one track to the next. Nice to see!!!
This guy doesn't feel like a teacher to me; he's more like the most encouraging and influential father figure ever!
The Bob Ross of DJs! Always super positive, I love watching Andrew's videos.
You probably the sweetest guy out there teaching DJing! Thank you for the lesson! ❤️
Been djing for 15+ years and you just added new elements into my dj life 🙏
