A funny and vigorous video you created here! Not all points covered, but most of them. Much better than the first comparision video from that other channel. Good job 👍
What happened to the video you guys posted a few days back?!?! Did someone from one of the companies very nicely ask for the video to be pulled?!?!? The issue with the high res Wav, AIFF & FLAC files has happened to me a few times in a club & festival setting!! You could have also switched the memory sticks over to see if pioneer can read the music analysed on engine prime & vice versa. It was a great vid nontheless.
Denon have made the smart move. They can't push Pioneer out of the clubs directly so they have dropped the price to get into the bedrooms of up and coming DJ's. 10 years down the line those kids will be demanding Denon in the clubs.
You’ve actually made a really good point here. And a tactical master class by Denon. I owned the CDJ200nxs a year back and sold them as they wasn’t really getting used (work really took over my spare time) but getting back into it and the SC6000 looks far superior
Let's not get it twisted... Pioneer is so behind and people only accept it's limitations because it's the standard... ha ha ha so much for pushing yourself forward as a DJ and setting yourself above the rest.
@ilck-ym-blals7385 Hey, erm... not really. I looked around at all the reviews on the tech and made a choice. I saw a pair of Denon Sc5000Ms on Facebook for £1000 5 years ago... and a Denon X1800 for £500... They were amazing for the price. The tricks you can do on them with ease and the creativity they inspire were great. The downside I guess as always is you stick to what you know if you're from Pioneer and also I guess if you just standard mix then you wouldn't really change. You can pick up a cheap controller in essence for 250 and it wouldn't matter.
If you’re not a fanboy of either you would say the denon is the better player and should become the industry standard. The only Pro Djs who aren’t looking into the Denons are the ones who’re either stuck in their ways or too scared to change! If you want to be ahead of the game get the best tools that can enhance you’re set and forget about the brand.
I'm pretty much locked down on rekordbox. Too many years sorting my collection, beat grids, memory cues etc. BUT without a doubt the Denons absolutely crap over on Pioneer in terms of features. I hope to see more of them in clubs in the future
@@kereamohau All recordbox playlists, Playlists folders, Memory Loops, HoCue points, BPM, Waveform and beatgrid can be import in to Engine Prime. Only memory Cues do not import yet.
Denon have said let’s give the consumer what they want a multi player with shit load of extra features because it’s cool and the way to go forward Which is brilliant. Pioneer on the other hand has said do we really need all fancy features on the players and would it work in a club environment may be not so let’s make the cdj more user friendly and also change what is important to to cdj to perform better in a club environment.
@@johneccles9051 Why do they perform "better" in a club environment? They both play music, they both work pretty reliably. That's what they need to do! That's the bottom standard. So it's just a simple limitation of possiblities with Pioneer. And that's a real shame cause it's way more expensive. Let's be honest here: Just everybody thinks that Pioneer is "better for clubs" because they were the only option for the past 10-15 years. But that has changed since 2017 with the launch of the Denon SC5000 - which is still ahead of the CDJ-3000! So where's the point for Pioneer? Just the brand name and the rekordbox environment - that's it. And after all I hate these statements like "Denon is for wedding and stuff like that". Which wedding DJ needs for decks, hot cues, hot loops, instant doubles, instant roll effects, slip mode and all that? THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT A GOOD CLUB DJ NEEDS! These statements are just for the purpose of degrading the Denons. And that's the real shame: That (even in the so called professional dj tech media) the DJ world is full of hardcore Pioneer fanboys. Of course, Pioneer was good at the times, but come on it's fallen behind.
No love for Pioneer anymore, or getting emotional coz pioneer took their customer base for granted. See how slow CDJ-2000nxs2 was............. Now they launched CDJ 3000.... CDJ 3000 must havee launch 4 years ago, but they did now coz of DENON DJ Sc5000 and SC6000 eating their market shares. Thank to DENON DJ big time for given great competition to Pioneer. Now company who will provide great product and justified price tag will survive... Before in the race Pioneer alone was running.
@@VictorKibalchich my view is this, people should just play on whatever makes them happy. We all can go back and forth on something that just really comes down to preference.
@@d.holland209 yeah, I agree, this Denon Vs Pioneer stuff is childish nonsense. Reality is though, if you play in a club, even a small one, you will find Pioneer CDJs

I left pioneer after 20 years of buying their CDJ for Denon Sc 6000 is way better than CDJ 3000 and half price from pioneer. Pioneer don’t did nothing new the only they do it it was up level the price but is the same staff. They lose a client. Don’t get me wrong I do think pioneer is one of the best brand for dj and I never think about to change. But there are losing market. I bought 2 Denon Sc 6000 for 3000€ each pioneer is 3.500€ that’s ridiculous. I see a lot of people only buying because all pros djs using pioneer. 7000€ bye Pioneer
Right let’s straighten a few things out here ! Firstly I’ve had 2000 nexus for well over 5 years . I switched over to 6000M around 6 weeks ago . I was one of the first people in the country to purchase them and it was a complete blind buy as I couldn’t test them due to Covid Yesterday I went to Dj on a radio station to do a guest mix they had the nexus 2000 Mk 2 decks and Djm 900 nexus 2 mixer . When I used the pioneers which acccording to most review sites the new Cdj 3000s feel the same but with a larger screen . The cdjs feel like a cheap plastic toy !!! They are not in the same league as the Denons I do not use rekord box or any of the software I use my ear to mix . The main issue with pioneers is the jog wheel when comparing it the Denon the jog wheel is absolutely rubbish on the pioneer it feels non responsive And as for this non sense of pioneer being a professional industry club standard player and Denon cannot step up to that , well only because pioneer have monopolised the market then Denon 6000M would be a much better choice for any DJ as it feels better , the deck is solidly built , jog wheel is amazing , pitch control feels solid and responsive . Also the decks can analyse tracks instantly , built in Wi-Fi gives you access to millions of tracks via subscription services There is not ONE benefit the pioneer offers over the denon not one and as a man that’s had both I am telling him The 6000M is the best , it’s better value , had more features , better build quality , and is a lot faster and responsive , not to mention you can put a 4TB hard drive in the base of each deck And you guys doing these reviews come on stop taking the piss and telling people ‘ oh well there both as good as each other ‘ if your scared of being repremanded by one of the manufacturers for a having a preference , Don’t make the day video instead of playing it safe and mugging of potential consumers
"i use my ear to mix" is the dumbest argument for not caring about lack of rekordbox. no DJ that plays for a GOOD living feels that way, and again, you are not the pioneer market. they couldnt give a fuck. but enjoy the denon's, you are who they're for
interesting info: pioneer has no sealed electronical boards but Denon has. So Denon is better protected for liquid attacks if we talk about "pro gear" features.... :D Just look a little in the future: pioneer will fight to catch up to the Denon level of the year 2020 while Denon can continue to push foward the level of possibilities... R.I.P. Pioneer! It was a nice ride!
C'mon, man. The "they aren't aimed at us" argument is a defence for the price Pioneer charge. Surely people must know Pioneer could sell these at the same price as Denons players.
and I'm willing to bet if the CDJ 3000 was the same price as the Denon they would sell more 3000s. Iphones are more expensive than androids but androids have more features yet Iphone sells more and holds a way better resell price as do the CDJ's
@@dominickd16 I think they would as well. I feel if Pioneer came in at the same price as Denon with this player, a lot of the good work Denon have put in over the last few years would have been undone
@Wex Yeah, and Denon is also still fully supporting their SC5000/M devices without compromises (even gave the limited MCX8000 a final good update). While ALSO providing more features, similar quality and a much better price. And Pioneer? You pay for overpriced devices with oldschool components, get 2-3 firmware upgrades, then nothing more happens, except Pulse telling you "get the Mk2 and stfu".
Sorry Pioneer, but another vote for the Denon SC 6000m. Better price and looks like it performs just as well or even better and love the motorized platter.
Glad you mentioned the pitch faders, I really thought Pioneer would have improved the firmness on the new players I've always thought they felt a little 'flimsy' on my old cdjs. They still look great overall but the Denons will prob be next for me
I was having this conversation with a mate the other day, we both played on vinyl for years, still have technics but fully adopted digital DJing years ago (so we're not being anal vinyl djs) BUT why does nobody copy the pitch faders from technics? I don't care about motorised platters, but I do really miss the solid feel of the technics pitch fader
Details like the Pitch faders or water resistance (twitter.com/denon_dj/status/1112243403713069056) are often getting ignored by the 'club standard' discussions. Even more reasons to support more competition! 👍
That's pretty much whats happening. Pioneer electronics sold off the last of their shares in the DJ arm early this year, they have nothing to do with DJ any more. Pioneer DJ is run by Alpha Theta who is owned by an investment firm. It's much like the current Nokia phones, they are made by HMD Global and they pay money to have the Nokia branding. Alpha Theta are paying to use the Pioneer DJ brand name but they don't have access to all the Pioneer electronics engineers who used to make the equipment. They also need to price the gear high to help get back some of the initial investment in Pioneer DJ. It's all about the brand name and issuing limited edition colors of older models from here out for Pioneer DJ.
@@slinkytrips that explains so well why the Pioneer XDJ XZ is although technically inferior to the Denon Prime 4, yet more expensive. I remember thinking when seeing the comparison, WTF the pioneer is more expensive and they can't even make it a metal chassis like the Denon!!! At least if the hardware or price had been on par with the Denon, it would have been a "swallowable" pill. That explains also why they released RekorBox on a paid subscription coz it's easier to hire developers and write a DJ app than good electronic engineers to improve the hardware. And on a paid subscription so cost effective to milk the user base. So that the acquisition has been made, riding on the brand milking the use base is the name of the game.
While Pioneer are currently number 1 when it comes to large venues and festivals I can see the playing field evening out over the next couple of years. At the moment very few are buying top end gear and that includes clubs/venues or rental company's. There just no market for it. The only ones that are buying gear are younger DJs. Pioneer couldn't have picked a worse time to launch a new player. Most if not all DJ's are at home playing with little or no prospect of a gig until at least next spring at the earliest. While Pioneer will certainly shift a few units to the bigger DJ's as well as some smaller ones, it will still be relatively noting. Most's DJ's are on a budget at the moment and as such will look at bang for buck. That's where Denon steps in. I spend a lot of time on FB groups, be it Pioneer, Denon or just DJ related groups and what I have noticed over the past few months is the huge increase in the amount of younger people showing off their new Denon gear. And it's not just regular Denon gear it's SC5000 and SC6000. The vast majority of them claim they would not go with Pioneer because for what you get it's just far too expensive when compared to Denon. What you have to consider is that all these young DJ's that are now using Denon players will be the same DJ's that will be playing in our clubs in the not to distant future. Personally I think at this time Denon are right where they need to be. From the looks of it they will be back in the DJ booth sooner than any of us expected. Now that doesn't mean that I want Pioneer to disappear. I think there's room for both of them and there need's to be for our sake. No competition is bad news for all us DJ's.
The DJ store here in Bali has been selling out of the Denon Prime 4 players. It's now the most popular unit after the DDJ 1000. The XDJ RX2 has basically slowed to a crawl in terms of units sold. For the average consumer, Denon is the way to go
Totally agreed. Pioneer is sticking to their old business model of launching the flagship then "trickling down" derivative products to release for the home DJ market. IMO this is a huge mistake because, as you said, no one is looking to buy 3000s right now. They should have instead spearheaded this new line with an awesome home unit that would at least be potentially affordable for most DJs. We're *all* bedroom DJs in 2020 - the club market doesn't exist anymore and I have no idea what the future is going to look like. I know tons of DJs but I only know of one working DJ who ever shelled out for a full nexus 2 system at home and he bought it because he was a promoter and got sick of having to constantly rent them out.
a year later, and the 3000s are out of stock everywhere, and when they're instock at different retailers, they go out of stock in a day. terrible take, but go fanboy denon. the lot of you love to type on a keyboard about all the ways on paper denon is superior and yet they haven't been adopted at all
This is the killer video ever... Would be good to see DENON DJ sc6000 instead sc6000m vs CDJ- 3000. How SC 6000 looks. Thanks for the video.. Wow denon is the champ.....
It would have been good to have both for sure, but felt the motorised platter was a good talking point to have in the video. Plus, the units sold out so quickly, this was the only one we had available for the video!
mmm and has the cdj3000 sold as quick as the denons and thats also your only one? most djs will buy denons purley over value for money. these djs will become the future stars and will demand Denons! food for thought.
@@personifiedelements1 no idea. it was a brilliant video and a great shoot out. my guess is they probably pulled it as they want to sell the pioneers at get in the mix store here in the uk?
Great and also funny video! A very solid comparison this time! ✌️ Two comments: "Only Pioneer for festivals" --> I beg to differ, the SC5000 already provided a better build quality than the NXS2, plus the shown safety features and even serious water proofing. They are definetly very solid and no toys. "Top DJs demand a familiar layout" --> Not to mention all Primes accept Rekordbox media, the overal layout+GUI is very similar and undesired featurs (like dual-layer, Wifi and pads) can be deactivated entirely; shouldn't those high-payed guys show a bit more courage & diligence by trying out something new? In the end, both players a great, with Denon having the much better value for money.
Thanks for the comment! The debate and opinions in this video are very much just that of Rodney and James themselves, but you do raise good points. The layout is very similar and you're right, the addition of dual-layer and WiFi etc is a bonus for those who want to use them, it makes sense to include these features and it be the end-users choice whether to use them or not.
It's funny how in all the reviews I've watched, I'd say 99% of commenters have said the Denons are better and yet, the Pioneers will still be the industry standard. Just shows how marketing and sponsorship rules, and quality means next to nothing.
Yeah, but at least Denon is paying attention to details. I hope stuff like this helps to make them become more accepted in the big booths: twitter.com/denon_dj/status/1112243403713069056
So, funny I just convinced a club owner to ditch his 10+ year old Pioneer rig for a full Denon DJ install and all the regular artists love it. Some minor learning curve here and there but now it's a huge win and a welcomed replacement. Don't be fooled by hype, marketing wank, and haters - Denon DJ has always be on par and the new SC5 & 6000 series are top notch; in many ways edging out Pioneer.
apple delivers newest tech and newest innovation at a high price. pioneer delivers just apple prices but Alcatel Innovation and Xiaomi mid level phone performance.
I don't know what happened with the speed test video.. but these guys are awesome. They' ve been fair... and showed the truth.. straight.. that's something that many can't handle.. Nice job guys respect.
Denon knew they could, so they did... Pioneer Aldo knew they could, bit didnt think it worth the effort, so they didnt... And that seen to continue. Good on Denon for keeping IT real and affordable❤
DJ Laidback luke has already used Sc-5000 in clubs and festivals, and surely he will use Sc60000 next as covid 19 came. Sorry and please don't miss guide people that sc6000 are for mobile dj's. and it is for the younger genration or upcoming ipad genration that is really. They are for every purpose. DJ's who are used to pioneer CDJ's can easily work with SC6000, there is very little learning curve.. Plus rekordbox library can be easily analyze onboard or on the go on Denon Sc 60000.
@@VictorKibalchich Just because YOU don't share others' taste doesn't make him a "terrible" DJ, silly. I think he is doing a great job while staying likeable and authantic, compared to many others of his kind. Also the comment was about that he (and others) already use the Denons on stage without any issue. Heck, the Primes survived a heavy rainfall while all four CDJs died on stage. So much for "only Pioneer is reliable", haha sure...
Pioneer is all about 'they do not need to' have wifi, 4 decks etc, but it is always nice to have an option, sucks that kind of monopoly on the market and lack of innovation. Especially with Beatport link wifi is necessary
What's happened to the "WE ARE SHOCKED CDJ-3000 VS SC6000 Speed Test video" Where is it? Who deleted? And Why? Because Pioneer CDJ 3000 no read device no analysis!?
Denon all the way. Hands down 25 years dj ing denon was always in use some pioneer for a bit but always sold my Pios and kept the denon, they Just Last.
Totally agree!! Whilst the Denon mixers are questionable, the players are bloody amazing. I feel like a setup with a DJM V10 or another mixer of individuals', choices ( a 92 maybe?) and 3 6000s would be insane.

So if I get you right: Denon is a “prosumer” equipment better than the “Pro gear” for lower price just because clubs and huge venue are “used to” buy and put Pioneer gear on their booth?.... what an Apple way to think! Let’s open our mind guys. I’m what you would call “bedroom dj” and using TraktorS4 Mk3 controller... but as soon I feel comfortable I ll swap to... Denon.
I am fully with you, man. It's always, every fuckin time, the same questionable excuses. "Only Pioneer for festivals". This is nonsense. I agree, keep saying it’s not for us... what! It’s not for DJ’s... no it’s just for festivals and super clubs... lucky Technics didn’t do that eh... put the price up for 1210’s because it’s not for normal DJ’s, you all need to use belt drive TT’s... funny marketing idea... lol
First off, the guy on the right is clearly bias against the Denon- I’ve been in the sound industry since the days of Bozak and Urei- keep in mind Denon was the first to develop a real dj’s CD player. And how many of us had the Denon dual rack mount?? Pioneer became the “standard” because there was no real comp for years. Now, since Denon has developed a giant killer, everyone is scared to call out Pioneer. I have both the Pioneers and the new Sc6000s as well as a Prime 4 and I tell you they are fantastic! He hangs on the fact they’re not professional enough, but in the next breath says he can’t afford either one.... This is a professional deck all the way. Denon can and will become a force- you can not deny that all of the “bells and whistles” trump the 3000 in droves! I seem to remember when the first cdj1000s came out, dj’s hated them. Bottom line though, if you’re moving the crowd and making real money at it, it doesn’t matter what you’re playing on! My ten cents...
I have two sc6000M's, they are professional decks, no question. Made extremely well. They are IMO superior to the Pioneer 3000's, which I have also used many times
I’ve been djing for 47 years and I chose Denon. Many Dj’s have become so used to relying on laptops and software programs to assist them and they have forgotten about the art of djing. Denon answered that with a spinning platter a scream that allows us to leave the laptop at home and store your music on the fly. So what’s the issue? There shouldn’t even be a debate here. Because, Denon gave us the solution… 💪🏾
Ok! So who is a pro DJ if I may ask? What can a pro DJ do on a Pioneer that they Can't do on a Denon? Switching over to the car industry for a sec...What's the better choice, a Fully Spec'd, Full Options car like the AMG/BMW-M lines or a Basic Entry level car? To me Pioneer is looking like an entry level product right now and to say it's aimed at the Pros...is an outright insult. Owning a pair of the SC6K players has led me to lay my CDJs to eternal rest...
It's less about what a "pro DJ" can do on either of the players, and more about what a "pro DJ" will face when booked to play at a club. In this case, "pro DJ" just meaning a successful DJ who plays regularly at clubs and festivals. Now, it's fairly clear that if you want to push your mixing performance abilities to their limits, Denon provides you with more tools to achieve this with their players. But, the issue lies in the fact that you won't have access to this gear when you come to play out at an event unless you bring it yourself, or if you're a big enough DJ to request the setup you want. It's also worth considering that many DJs wouldn't make use of all the performance features of the SC6000s, though them being there isn't a negative of course. The difference in layout isn't all that great, and someone who is using their SC6000s at home shouldn't find it too difficult to adjust to the CDJ-3000 when presented with it. However, having to adjust to different equipment, which as it stands they WILL have to do, adds a degree of discomfort which is not something you want when playing to a live audience. It's a tough situation and one that will take time if it's going to shift in Denon's favour.
You lads are one of my favorite entertainment duos of all time. Much love to you guys and thanks for the info disguised as laughs. Super happy with my SC6000M, cheers guys!
Honestly though, wouldn't a more fair comparison be between the SC6000 and the CDJ-900NXS? Those two are closer in price, SC6000 - $1,499, CDJ-900NXS - $1,399
@@BlueHawk80 The 900NXS was already mediocre at its release, by now it is an absolute disappointment for that high price. Hell, the SC5000 is vastly superior and still 300$ less 🤷♂️
Denon Dj all day long .....pioneer could of been so much better. Time to replace my CDJ's 1000's 😂Will be getting the Denon ones ...can't wait ... will look beautiful next to my SL1200LTD's.
It’s true. Pioneer doesn’t have to compete with denon or anyone. But come on. Denon blows that cdj3000 out the water. I mean didn’t know about unplugging the power cord and it still stays on. Man I love my pioneer and I own them. But was gonna sell my kids to buy them but now I could just sell my wife and get two denon. Lol. But foreal. That’s impressive with the Denon. Thanks guys. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍😎
Prime 2, 4 and 6000s have a SATA slot, you can add HDD/SDD up to 1TB (officially, in reality even more, whoever needs that much). You can transfer files via USBLaptop after installing, and all units can access on drive via Link. It's a neat bonus for DJs who want it.
Pioneer I found have always lagged behind on certain stuff and not having a hard drive capable player in this time might hurt them. We are in the time where having hard drive to access music is a need. If pioneer made this with hard drive capabilities. Pioneer would have killed Denon
Denon wins hands down in every feature and implementation. If anyone says Pioneer players are better they are drinking the “koolaid” and ignorant to far superior gear just because their mates think Pioneer is “cool” and the “standard”. They aren’t. They just happen to have had a solid deck in the industry for while. The times have changed….
Muscle memory on the Pioneer's Hot Cues??? But, Pioneer has moved them on the 3000. A horse and cart used to be industry standard before Car's came along so a horse and cart must be better right? 😉
The Denon is way ahead of the Pioneer. It doesn't matter where you DJ. The product is just better. At this time. Stop making excuses for Pioneer making bad decisions.
It tells a afoul lot about a product if the only pro for a product is that it’s club standard and Technically the Competition is technically superior in every sense of the word.
I am trying out the SC6000, but I am missing the fact that, on the CDJ, I can press on the platter to get the vinyl brake effect (and can do it partially), whereas the SC6000 stops playback completely, and instantly, regardless of the dialed in setting. Can someone tell me, on the SC6000M, how hard is it to stop the playback vs. just slow it down a bit temporarily? Like, will just a bit of pressure stop the vinyl from spinning instantly, or does it have enough grip (and power in the motor, which I assume it has) where you can press it pretty firmly and it will just slow down but not stop (let's say just a 5-20% slowdown)? Really appreciate it. I don't want to get a SC6000M and have one of each, although maybe that's the way I have to go, then trade the one I don't like back in. It's really too bad there's no way to have the screen AND the motorized platter, that would be awesome!
Argggg!!!! Do I get the Pioneer to set myself up for big club/festi gigs which will likely be a blue moon thing or get the Denon and pursue private gigs as a mobile DJ. Also, whihc road is better, Rekord Box or Serato.......
Pioneer DJ is like the Apple of the DJ world, their products might not always be on the bleeding edge of technology but generally look the best and when a feature is implemented it usually works better than the competition.
Have been Denon DJ since the DNS-5000 and the DNX-1500. The first motorized plater. Play two tracks from same cd. Remove cd track keeps playing. Denon had everything I wanted when I was first looking into my first buy past turntables. Still with Denon on the SC3900's and DNX1600 and DNX1700 after I fix the power. Out of warranty and not sending it out. I know how to fix all my gear. Cue button on one SC3900 stopped working so I replaced all of them with one size taller button and the response is so much better.
Not forgetting. If you are a mobile DJ, as with the Prime4 as well, you can stick any SATA drive in the spare bay. HDD or SSD. So you could have 4TB of music on-board if you really wanted too. You only have to have the Drive in 1 player. Any other players on the Ethernet Bus can access that music instantly.
Spends time on extremes of ejecting usb sticks...ignores the fact that the Denon also has to option of an internal hard drive so that wouldn't be a worry for a dj.👀
I think denon are looking at a long term takeover plan. Like they said, the denon gear will appeal much more to new DJs. Eventually, these newer DJs will step up the ladder and the standard will change
I’m sorry, but if a “professional festival Dj” can’t learn how to use the Denon player then I just can’t imagine how hard it is learning how to use the new iOS on their iPhones. Come on. It isn’t that difficult to develop muscle memory on multiple devices. Give them some credit! Every “amateur” I have ever known can flex between multiple rigs between warehouses and clubs. Pioneer screwed the pooch. When will the market admit it 100%? I was a “pro” for a time (if that’s what you call it when you are paid to play clubs, parties and events) - and I still LOVE mixing. Occasional gig, mostly for fun. In EITHER scenario the Denon player wins.
You can if you like, though you will be missing any functionality you gain from linking 2 or more players together - dual waves forms and USB link for example.
I am happy Denon stepped up their game to show Pioneer they need to Work at wanting to be number one .....Because they owned the market all this time I am glad we given something else to choose from .Choose what works for you as a DJ
I grew up with Pioneer and love their products but the company was sold. They’re just trying to catch up with Denon now. Pioneer is not what it used to be.
I wish Denon, or Rane or somebody would make something like the 6000m, without the screen and standalone mode. I like the Rane 12, but they're bigger than I like. And I don't need or care about the touch screen or standalone capability of the 6000m. A 7-8" version of a Rane 12 would be an instant buy from me. And not the Rane One, because I want 2 controllers + a mixer, not an all in one unit. But of these 2, the Denon is infinitely better, and it's a lot cheaper too. It's crazy how much the 3000's sell for just because they're made by Pioneer. If there was a Numark equivelent, it would be probably 95% as good for around $800 lol. I love my Reloop Rp8000Mk2, and I love vinyl but I think sooner or later I'll buy a 6000m.
As far as I know the Dennon SC6000 (m) can actually preview tracks while they are playing as long as you have connected the player with a dennon 1800x/1850x mixer!
I have been waiting for these Denon’s since April this year. What’s with the delay man just release them already. Pioneer have panicked and released the 3000 because they know their market share is in tatters when the SC6000 hits
So the only point for Pioneer is that it's the one is use in club? of course is been in the market long before, Denon it's future of Djs and I would use it over Pioneer in clubs Festivals and anything else, best product , best technology for the fair price. just amazing. 100% DENON.
I'm waiting for Denon to beat Pioneer on Sample tools like djs1000. How to sync them in case (denon prime and djs1000)? Would Akai force be comparable ?
The Akai Force works seamlessly with the Denon players as they have Ableton Link on board. I use the Force with my Prime setup to playback loops and also to sync Analog synths and Drum machines. You can even hook up the sends of your Mixer to allow you to sample and loop live from the tracks you are playing. With Pioneer, even the CDJ3000 does not support Ableton Link natively, you have to have a Laptop running Rekordbox connected
Both players are for Pros but Pioneers I think are for those permanent installations (clubs, bars, festivals with multiple djs) and you could buy a DDJ-1000 to get some familiarity with the CDJs. SC6000Ms I personally bought them because I rarely use CDJs and play on Turntables whenever I can. Newer DJs will probably prefer the SC6000 as they seem to be more a controller-based feature set player. The fact that I could use the Denons as a controller for Serato & Virtual DJ along with a Rekordbox USB and Streaming is a HUGE reason why I love the SC6000Ms. BUT I would not be mad playing on the 3000s at all. They are both GREAT decks.
Well if Pioneer want to get picky about CPU's, with their dual core CPU. The Prime2, Prime4, and SC6000 all use this 4 CORE RockChip. RK3288 The earlier SC5000 uses a Dual Core arm. The Rockchip RK3288 is an ARM architecture System on Chip (SoC) from Rockchip. It is the first SoC, that uses the 32 bit ARM Cortex-A17 processor. It is a quad-core processor with a NEON coprocessor and hardware acceleration for video and 3D graphics. It is used in a number of Chromebooks and other low-power, low-performance devices. The RK3288-C is used in the "Veyron" board design of several Chromebooks
As a computer geek / part time DJ, your insight into the CPUs impresses me and provide very insightful knowledge about the gears.! No doubt that you must a geed too
@@aurora2319 lol hardly a geek. Its common knowledge that Denon put on their webcast at launch. Shame they did not do their homework here. PS part time ?, cheek. Im a full time Radio station DJ.
Pioneer has a total scene monopoly, which would be a definite fight to push aside. Laidback Luke uses Denton and he's a festival DJ. Denon offering more at a lower price whilst pushing the technology commands attention.
Pioneer is done. It’s dinosaur products. Denon is the standard. Who would pay more for less and slower, cheaper build quality than a Denon. Denon destroys every aspect of pioneer. Stop this nonsense with all the decks at clubs and festivals are pioneer. Festivals these days have both. Night clubs are changing over already and most night clubs are not open any more due to covid and who cares what you playing on if you doing live streams. Denon is the new president in DJ players. Their mixer can do with a little more improvement, but they can work on that next as they way ahead in terms of players.
The Denons are just better. I am a professional DJ and hope to see them becoming the new standard. I often play on the 5000 with my crew, we have a pair in our studio.Arriving at a gig and stepping back down to a CDJ-2000 nexus feels old, slow and utterly annoying to have trouble reading flac files etc. Uffff so boring. I was waiting to see the 3000s and now I can just confirm my preference for the Denons - I am going to buy a pair of SC6000M asap.

More even like 5 years. But I agree, yeah
You’ve actually made a really good point here. And a tactical master class by Denon. I owned the CDJ200nxs a year back and sold them as they wasn’t really getting used (work really took over my spare time) but getting back into it and the SC6000 looks far superior

Exactly. And those who buy it pay for those DJ's getting their gear for free. So actually, when buying Pioneer, you pay for other people's stuff.
Let's not get it twisted... Pioneer is so behind and people only accept it's limitations because it's the standard... ha ha ha so much for pushing yourself forward as a DJ and setting yourself above the rest.

Were you originally a pioneer fan? I must admit I am a sucker for brands an I usually just go for what I know but I'm thinking of switching to denon 🤔

Pioneers are good stuff but they give away players for free to the DJ Mag Top 100 players. As such, all the rest pays too much money to cope for that.
Toyotas are very practical and reliable!!!
@@tttthundercatttt But they’re also affordable unlike the CDJs! 😁
@@decoynick1730 if you can’t afford pioneer, just stick with the cheap stuff, let the professionals buy the professional gear.

Thank to DENON DJ big time for given great competition to Pioneer. even playing small clubs, you'll find Pioneer not Denon in there
@@VictorKibalchich my view is this, people should just play on whatever makes them happy. We all can go back and forth on something that just really comes down to preference.

100% nailed. Leaving Pioneer was my best decision ever. Next to starting DJ at all, ofc :D
I TOTALLY AGREE!!
I was one of the first people in the country to purchase them and it was a complete blind buy as I couldn’t test them due to Covid
Yesterday I went to Dj on a radio station to do a guest mix they had the nexus 2000 Mk 2 decks and Djm 900 nexus 2 mixer . When I used the pioneers which acccording to most review sites the new Cdj 3000s feel the same but with a larger screen . The cdjs feel like a cheap plastic toy !!!
They are not in the same league as the Denons I do not use rekord box or any of the software I use my ear to mix . The main issue with pioneers is the jog wheel when comparing it the Denon the jog wheel is absolutely rubbish on the pioneer it feels non responsive
And as for this non sense of pioneer being a professional industry club standard player and Denon cannot step up to that , well only because pioneer have monopolised the market then Denon 6000M would be a much better choice for any DJ as it feels better , the deck is solidly built , jog wheel is amazing , pitch control feels solid and responsive . Also the decks can analyse tracks instantly , built in Wi-Fi gives you access to millions of tracks via subscription services
There is not ONE benefit the pioneer offers over the denon not one and as a man that’s had both I am telling him The 6000M is the best , it’s better value , had more features , better build quality , and is a lot faster and responsive , not to mention you can put a 4TB hard drive in the base of each deck
And you guys doing these reviews come on stop taking the piss and telling people ‘ oh well there both as good as each other ‘ if your scared of being repremanded by one of the manufacturers for a having a preference , Don’t make the day video instead of playing it safe and mugging of potential consumers
How did you manage to get a pair.? Do you know anybody who has the SC6000 in stock now.??

Details like these, that the Pioneer plebs keep on ignoring while calling Denon gear "not durable for clubs". Good one!

C'mon, man. The "they aren't aimed at us" argument is a defence for the price Pioneer charge. Surely people must know Pioneer could sell these at the same price as Denons players.
strongly agree
and I'm willing to bet if the CDJ 3000 was the same price as the Denon they would sell more 3000s.
@@dominickd16 i bet you bought the apple monitor stand $999 am i right?
Sorry Pioneer, but another vote for the Denon SC 6000m. Better price and looks like it performs just as well or even better and love the motorized platter.
I think the Pionner CDJ-3000 is a great device... if we were in 2010.
IMHO From a technical point of view, the Demon is better. Pioneer is just doing the bear minimum to stay the game ridding on their brand popularity
So that the acquisition has been made,
riding on the brand milking the use base
is the name of the game.

18:19 if you’re a nightclub but can’t afford both setups, than you can’t afford to hire a DJ; best to stick with Spotify. 😆

Laidback Luke is a terrible DJ though, plays absolutely the worst dance music possible
@They Caged Non what's the point of skills if the selection is wack
@They Caged Non maybe he can make more money playing the worst lowest common denominator stuff, fair play, but it doesn't earn my respect as an artist
@@m-stat9 his music is objectively awful. I bet Andrew Weatherall is spinning in his grave. Is this why we fought the acid house wars? For this dreck?
Pioneer is all about 'they do not need to' have wifi, 4 decks etc, but it is always nice to have an option, sucks that kind of monopoly on the market and lack of innovation. Especially with Beatport link wifi is necessary
I get the whole "familiarity" point of view BUT, I would definitely future proof my rig with the Denon SC6000M
What's happened to the "WE ARE SHOCKED CDJ-3000 VS SC6000 Speed Test video"
Where is it? Who deleted? And Why?
Because Pioneer CDJ 3000 no read device no analysis!?
Love this video. Don’t know how many times I’ve watched. Got the Denons with the x1850. Great kit!
Great to hear, thank you!
@@cicada42069 denon mixers where in the same league its Just the fx where all pioneer cause all clubs endorsed them or got them free but doing so became a standard and had all of us wanting them.
Not an fx type a guy so denon, xone 62 where my weapons Till i discovered the urei and since i never looked back.
My 2 cents.
Old denon before it was sold where the bomb.
I hear horror stores with the New stuff.
I bought them and returned them.
I kept my dns3700 and its that.
Time code is more Than enough the rest is details.
To be fair denon were the industry standard for a short while before pioneer.
Denon was the standard, Pioneer duked them out, Denon comes back strong af !
3 Sc6000s with a model 1 mixer. A man can dream....
SC5000 already had better build quality than the NXS2, plus safety features and better water proofing. "Top DJs demand a familiar layout". Not to mention the Primes read Rekordbox Sticks, the overal layout+GUI is very similar and undesired featurs (like dual-layer and pads) can be deactivated at any time, shouldn't those superstar-DJs show some courage and brain by trying out something different?
Horus128 imagine if producers would use only synth from let’s say Arturia for example because they “know the layout” .....
@@benoitpeeters7511 Oh dear, this would be an even more sad world to live on...
I agree, keep saying it’s not for us... what! It’s not for DJ’s... no it’s just for festivals and super clubs... lucky Technics didn’t do that eh... put the price up for 1210’s because it’s not for normal DJ’s, you all need to use belt drive TT’s... funny marketing idea... lol
Not for us!! Ain't that some shit. So if it's not for us DJ's, then who is it for?!! Hell of a statement!!
Really enjoyed this video. Great arguments. Also props to the video editor. Top job.
Denondj are best always forever
I seem to remember when the first cdj1000s came out, dj’s
hated them.
Got the Denon on order . Can not wait !
The Pioneer CDJ 3000 would have been a great choice, in 2017... future is bright for Denon !

@getinthemix Where did the performance video go? And when can we expect the second part?
You lads are one of my favorite entertainment duos of all time. Much love to you guys and thanks for the info disguised as laughs. Super happy with my SC6000M, cheers guys!
Honestly though, wouldn't a more fair comparison be between the SC6000 and the CDJ-900NXS? Those two are closer in price, SC6000 - $1,499, CDJ-900NXS - $1,399
Absolutely! But then the Denon would absolutely rape that Pioneer, heh
@@BlueHawk80 The 900NXS was already mediocre at its release, by now it is an absolute disappointment for that high price. Hell, the SC5000 is vastly superior and still 300$ less 🤷♂️

Keep up the good work 👍👍👍😎
This was a great video. Top Work!
Hey. What happened to your other video review of these two units?
Pioneer DJ probably wasn't too happy and told them to remove it.
@@KevinBasher that is actually true !!!
Denon is King 👑👑👑
Doesn't the denon hv ssd storage?
Yes it does
Prime 2, 4 and 6000s have a SATA slot, you can add HDD/SDD up to 1TB (officially, in reality even more, whoever needs that much). You can transfer files via USBLaptop after installing, and all units can access on drive via Link. It's a neat bonus for DJs who want it.
That is a big point they overlooked
Pioneer I found have always lagged behind on certain stuff and not having a hard drive capable player in this time might hurt them. We are in the time where having hard drive to access music is a need. If pioneer made this with hard drive capabilities. Pioneer would have killed Denon
Yes
Denon wins hands down in every feature and implementation. If anyone says Pioneer players are better they are drinking the “koolaid” and ignorant to far superior gear just because their mates think Pioneer is “cool” and the “standard”. They aren’t. They just happen to have had a solid deck in the industry for while. The times have changed….
Thank you!!!
Muscle memory on the Pioneer's Hot Cues???
But, Pioneer has moved them on the 3000.
A horse and cart used to be industry standard before Car's came along so a horse and cart must be better right? 😉
It took a long time for djs to move to cdjs in the first place, it's not like they were always popular.

I"m just watching these videos like i can afford any of them. lol
I got pioneer but the denon is much better for the scratch dj so I would pick denon.
Exactly! Club standard isn’t a good enough excuse!! Are they trying to say it’s more reliable?? 🤷🏾♂️ I’m lost…
The best I've heard regarding this. Is that "Do you want to spend your money on technology or nostalgia?"
Thanks for your research. I would like to listen to both players playing music if there is any differency soundwise.
Argggg!!!! Do I get the Pioneer to set myself up for big club/festi gigs which will likely be a blue moon thing or get the Denon and pursue private gigs as a mobile DJ. Also, whihc road is better, Rekord Box or Serato.......
I love this, it helped me tremendously. Thank you all
You guys did great on this fam 👏🏼
The CDJ-3000 is the final nail to pioneer's own coffin. Rest in Peace.
Great debate just purchased sc6000 and x1850 from you guys cheers
Most interesting & entertaining comparison video out there.
This was very funny and informative, top video boyz. 👌👌👌
Glad you enjoyed it!
Pioneer DJ is like the Apple of the DJ world, their products might not always be on the bleeding edge of technology but generally look the best and when a feature is implemented it usually works better than the competition.
Good joke. "Works better", like here:
ua-cam.com/video/pE6tUpG6XMs/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/ODG3_Wzs3Gw/v-deo.html
Have been Denon DJ since the DNS-5000 and the DNX-1500. The first motorized plater. Play two tracks from same cd. Remove cd track keeps playing. Denon had everything I wanted when I was first looking into my first buy past turntables. Still with Denon on the SC3900's and DNX1600 and DNX1700 after I fix the power. Out of warranty and not sending it out. I know how to fix all my gear. Cue button on one SC3900 stopped working so I replaced all of them with one size taller button and the response is so much better.
Great video guys
Not forgetting. If you are a mobile DJ, as with the Prime4 as well, you can stick any SATA drive in the spare bay. HDD or SSD. So you could have 4TB of music on-board if you really wanted too. You only have to have the Drive in 1 player. Any other players on the Ethernet Bus can access that music instantly.
Denom IS the Beats
I have a hibrid setup, 2cdjs and 2 denons, everyday I find myself liking the denons more.
Spends time on extremes of ejecting usb sticks...ignores the fact that the Denon also has to option of an internal hard drive so that wouldn't be a worry for a dj.👀
Brilliant as always guys.
You will have noticed that Maceo Plex in his latest lockdown sessions has moved over to the Denon Sc6000M
Imagine owning a denon and to become pro you have to downgrade to pioneer
I would like to see a comparison of sc5000 and the cdj3000. My opinion is that the sc5000 is a better player.
I think denon are looking at a long term takeover plan. Like they said, the denon gear will appeal much more to new DJs. Eventually, these newer DJs will step up the ladder and the standard will change
The standard is a play button, a pitch fader, a jog, a mixer. Stop.
Best review ever. Thanks guys!
Our pleasure!
It doesn't matter if it's a Denon or a Pioneer, the main thing is that it's a Denon 😂😂😂
Can you use your spotify account trough wifi on the Denon ?
Or god forbid people actually carry their own gear to their gigs. Lazy asses.
What happened to the speed test SC6000 vs CDJ3000 video? Anyone have a link to this thumbnail? ua-cam.com/video/oy5cYz4UM2g/v-deo.html
Can you use one of each? Or do they work with different programs?
Lads were did the speed test video go? Please dont tell me pioneer sent some brown envelopes?🤣
RK3288
The earlier SC5000 uses a Dual Core arm.
@@jonnyvr Correct. The SC5000 is based around the Rock2.
"The earlier SC5000 uses a Dual Core arm."
Wrong.
@Star Lord Not really, my 4yr old Denon MC7000 has a 32bit DAC.
