I really like how you're fixing it, making it safe, while daily driving it. Very cool stuff! And thank goodness you caught that fuel hose when you did..
Old Augusta, Georgia ? I spent some time out there. There is a middle of winter in the middle of Covid so I didn’t see anything. But yeah dude if you take care of those couple little issues, you can run the cheapest ethanol, gas you want in your classic car
Another good video, thanks Ryan. I run solid lines in my cars away from std heat sources and reduce the risk of v-lock by splitting a length of hose lengthwise and wrapping the hard line with the rubber hose. Its an effective workaround 👍🏼
Thanks for the 2 Tips: Carry a Fire Extinguisher and the return fuel line; for vapor lock FIX ! BTW, Your Channel has risen to # 2 on my list...with ColdWarMotors resting at a SOLID Number One. Cheers to you Ryan ! ...Newk from Kentucky
thanks dude...me to. when i smelled fuel and realized i didn't have a fire extinguisher specifically after doing work on the fuel lines i thought i was in for it
man... i usually ...according to murphy's law.. carry everything i used for a repair with me, like a fourleaf clover wrapped around a horseshoe ... until it becomes a fixture in the car... every three years when i clean the car out i find spare points or something....this time... nothing...and... murphys law
A insulated spacer under carb. Whos the WhA hoo with the rubber line on exhaust manifold. Open flame or spark does flammables! Dc motors operate underwater without shock. And distilled water doesn't conduct AC.
Funny that you say that because it started to come up in the video. I pulled out of fan spacer because you are correct. And because you pointed it out. Even made mention of it in the video. I even had the perfect 2 inch spacer right on the shelf…. Then I realized with the fan clutch I needed studs not bolts. So it did not happen and the clip hit the cutting room floor
My lessons with fuel systems in old motors - new tanks, new lines, secured lines, and plenty of filters... good, see-through, filters. An extinguisher is a great 'real world' insurance in any motor, be it for yourself, or unfortunate others... Ask me how I know... Same goes for electrics - all new or serviced and tested electrical parts... especially high amp cables. Ask me how I know... Same with coolant hoses - ALL NEW... Ask me how I know... You know; nostalgia's great, but a safe, secure and fully functioning Hot Rodder is greater... Good Lux 777 wi' yo' pro-gex!!! ;o)

thanks man, the moment i realized i had a leak... then immediately realized i didn't have a fire extinguisher i was pretty worried
Thanks for explaining the vaporlock, and how to fix it. Out east here in Disgusta, we enjoy the same amount of heat, with added humidity.
