Tigrex really emanates ''fuck them powers, run your hands'' energy, peak design.
I really like tigrex and diablos their the definition of simple yet effective.
I friggin plowed through Stories 2 with them always being my go to monsties, and encountering them in World and Rise never fails to get the blood pumping
Diablos is my favourite monster. Both are the definition of “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face” Nergi just takes this concept and cranks it up.
@@bignelly9476 it's always the OG monster that are so hard, and they have a unique moveset that separate them from the other monster.
the other monster? it's just like fighting another Rathalos
@@kennethsatria6607 Tigrex was a vital part of my team throughout a lot of my Stories 2 main story playthrough.
I like Diablos, but I don’t like Tigrex. Tigrex is not difficult, I just find him annoying.
In a world where your fellow monsters possess the ability to control the weather/produce natural disasters, imagine still being feared by seasoned hunters for having none of these abilities, just a pure brute.
Can't go wrong with Tigrex. Sometimes less is more. Also he fr just og Deviljho.
Pretty sure Jho came first, did Tri come out before FU?
@@TheRedMan77 tigrex debut was in freedom 2 in 2007 meanwhile jho debut was in mh3 in 2009
@@marclagria6335 Got it.
I still miss the behavior Tigrex had in MHFU where if you left the area in the middle of the fight, and you have it marked on the map, you can see it waiting for you at the area entrance. Most monsters would just go back to the middle of the area. Tigrex just waits for you.... Menacingly.... for you to come back. It was such a nice counter point to Nargacuga. Narga was agile, swift and had the rage mechanic, only fighting smarter and more aggressive. Tigrex literally just tries to bulldozer you and punish you if you weren't mindful of janky hitboxes. He literally becomes a train with teeth, and there are no breaks in rage mode.
The monsters that always rely more n raw strength over elemental gimmicks have always been my favorite type of monsters. Tigrex, Deviljho, Rejang, Diablos, Nergigante, I love em. I also remember reading somewhere that Tigrex have to be careful when doing their signature roar, otherwise their lungs expand so much they can actually break their own ribcage from it.
Yeah but Rajang has the thundah beam
Imagine being so simple in design and yet such a nightmare to even seasoned players.
While tigrex is simple he manages to kick my ass more than most monsters.
The ranged attack of the brute tigrex is just screaming
That's quality content. Thanks a lot for making those videos
Thanks man I really appreciate that
0:41 "...the simplicity of the *Tee-grex* "
Me: *happy Tigrex fan noises*
Eww no, Tie-grex all the way.
OMG I'm so proud of you , I know your channel it's new but I know it's not easy all dedication you put on it Goid luck.
also in mhfu, tigrex has the longest sleeping time about 3 min, when other monster just around 40s
Ol Rexy understands the value in "Longer naps = longer times to bite and slap" ya sees
Yes, this is the exact reason I love the Tigrex. Dude is a menace just out of brute strength alone and has such a nice design
Yeah i still remember him being the flagship in MHFU. The way they teased him, the introduction in some random hunt and how the last quest of the village was for you to actually fight him. This monster has quite the presence.
I think you're thinking freedom 2 where Tigrex was the flagship. Monster hunter Freedom Unite was where Nargacuga was the flagship my friend.
In the PS2 era there was no Tigrex
It first appeared in Freedom 2; it was quite different from anything else.
I’m happy to find another person that leans into the “T-Rex” pronunciation of Tigrex’s name. I’ve grown quite tired of hearing everyone else’s use of the “Tiger” variant.
Sometimes being angry, very angry...is enough 😤😡
I actually really like this video it's a rare gem to find something like this on a small channel. Just make sure you check your final volume, other thab that keep it up brother m
Thank you that really means a lot. And i will, thanks.
Who needs elemental magic or complex mechanics when you can just use pure, unbridled hatred and rage screams to kill your prey?
My first flagship and to this day one of my very favourites.
Small thing, but it isn’t actually nomadic. It nests in warmer climates, deserts, jungles, arid, tropical environments. It travels outside that range for food sources. For example, it travels to snowy tundra locales because it loves popo and it’s in the Rotten Vale for the copious amounts of meat and carrion laying around.
Tigrex is imbued with psycho energy
Tigrex is one of the first monsters that really taught me how to deal with hyper offensive threats in these games. It doesn't rely on grace or subtlety, so most of the fight is just watching it try to run you down. Which thankfully makes it incredibly predictable and allot of it comes down to tracking where it will be for the openings... and then much much later on you fight Rajang for the first time. And then your taking turns trying to not get mixed up by the most brutal member to ever breath life into this forsaken fantasy world.
lol I remember my first encounter of him in early quest in MHFU
My favorite damn monster in the entire series. I didn't like him at first, because when I first got the game, I thought he was too hard, but nowadays have him on my list as a personal favorite. That said, he is at the TOP of my list when it comes to most RESPECTED monsters. Dudes on par with a virus dragon in gore magala, the surprisingly agile(while in the air at least) fire breathing king of the skies Rathalos, and even the explosive kitty magnamalo. Dude's a fan favorite, and will stay that way for years to come. Hell, if rathalos is the poster boy for monster hunter in that he's the first thing you think of, Tigrex is the next immediate thought
I started with unite so I love this guy and laugh at how many just die against it and diablos
It would be one of my favorite fights if it's hitboxes weren't measurable in Burj Khalifas
I like this. You should make a series out of this!
Thank you! this is kind of a series, talking about the design of a creature in general. I’ve got several more planned.
Tigrex is a fun hunt
Tigrex is literally the very first monster I encountered as a kid
During freedom 2
Plus it's a dinosaur ish thing too so it's awesome
Good vid, very watchable. Keep it up👍
Sometimes it's the simple fights that catch you slipping. Tigrex and Diablos force me to concentrate because one wrong move against these streamlined monsters will most likely result in you being carted. "Get directly on the cart. Do not pass Go. Do not collect 200z."
I love monsters like him, whose gimmick it is just to be overwhelmingly brutal. Tigrex and deviljho too, even tho it has dragon breath its main thing is hungry and unrelenting. Nergigante I like aswell, the elder dragon killer - how does it do it? It's simply extremely aggressive and backs that up by being able to regenerate faster than it's opponents.
My favorite monster in the series BY FAR. I can't put into words how much I adore this amazing creature. In a world with world-ending monsters throwing super beams and affecting the flow of time, Tigrex still manages to be MENACING. He is angry, feral, powerful, uncontrollable. You have beams? I have mooscles! You have huge explosions? I have mooscles! You have elemental AOEs? I HAVE MOOSCLES!!!!!!
I seriously believe that even an Elder or Alatreon would get stunned by Tigrex, at least in the beginning of their encounter.
who would win?
4 overpowered hunters with giant weapons, mantles and stacked buffs
one hungry boi on a roadtrip
5:24 Tie-Grex moment
It’s tiger and Rex isn’t it so it would be tie grex
@@phatphungus6453 The rest of the video is just "Tea-Grex"
@@phatphungus6453 The MH team has always called it Tigarekkusu=Tea-grex.
Tigrex has been my favorite monster since i started playing Freedom Unite, it's simple but also memorable and unique.
In my playthrough of Stories 1, my strongest monstie is a Brute Tigrex named Brutus. Infused him with water element and lots of atk boost, he OBLITERATES nearly anything he fights, especially something weak to water like Silver Rathalos.
great vid man! Didnt even realize that it was made by a small channel. I hope you'll take off one day!
Thank you so much man that really means a lot
@@martianmetal Oh! maybe could you do a video about rajang? there might not be a lot to talk about him, but i always see him interesting not because of his ability to turn yellow/super saiyan, but how his face reminds me of a literal demon/satan/devil
@@TheKZKAI you know i haven’t thought of Rajang but honestly that’s a great idea. There actually is quite a lot to talk about him. It may not be soon but I definitely will make a vid of Rajang someday, thanks for the suggestion
Tigrex isnt a brute wyvern because monsters are classified by their skeleton types, with the exception of elder dragons. All brute wyverns are bipedal tyranid type monsters.
Nice video. Really like your style! Keep it up :)
Thank you, i definitely will
Ok, 2 bits of strangeness & 1 example of minor misinformation, but overall a fairly enjoyable video. I'd give a like.
"fun fight" you said...
A lot of the points you made here are the same reasons I love nergigante
i love the Nergigante. i still haven’t beaten it but it still is one of my favorite monsters
This monster reminds me so much more of a Tyrannosaurus Rex and even has the same role of being an apex predator which is really cool 🥰❤🦖
Odogaron’s claws are so detailed and cool, just wanted to mention that before I talk about tiggy
Yeah tigrex is a really good monster, even his old world form which looks kinda derpy sometimes, has a perfect amount of pure savagery
Honestly I think if they brought molten tiggy back and heavily emphasized his strength while using the blast aspect to just make him look cooler/feel more powerful, molten would be my favorite monster
(To make it clear what I’m thinking, here’s an example/description of the strength being emphasized while blast makes everything a bit cooler)
Imagine if when molten tigrex got extremely mad (maybe at like 40% health) he did the thing from his lore and started pumping his muscles so much that his skin started tearing apart, and you can see the dense muscle through cracks/patches/patterns (there’s many ways you could show this) around different parts of his body
Then, because his scales are what cause the blast, them ripping causes patches of scales to be blown around in the arena (which could either be the ingle isle or the same arena as what he used to have), then this way you could have him do a bunch of insane, raw physically powerful attacks (possibly amplified by bits of blast on some) while looking cool as hell, but also make the area you’re fighting in, that much cooler
Then eventually he releases a huge gush of heat causing all the blast scales/skin to explode violently and you can see his glow disappear while his muscles and skin start to go back to how they were
Once enough time has passed, the gashes in his skin will have quickly healed for the most part and he repeats the cycle again
Man I really want molten to come back
It's really fun to hunt it with CB
Wish normal tigrex has grimclaw movesets just without the steam explosion
TIGREX WOOOOOOOO
Is not tigrex a fanged wyvern now?
Molten Tigrex where?
Anyway, that's quality.
I actually haven’t heard of the Molten Tigrex, i always thought that Brute was the only variant. Idk if I’d cover him since he seems to just be a tad different besides just skin color though. And thanks
Just going with Base game versions; not Frontier or Online, or spin-offs.
Tigrex: Base Species; special attacks: powerful roars, charges, rock throws, basic bites, single & double 360 tail swipe.
Pretty Basic, but classic.
Brute Tigrex: Subspecies; special attacks: Same as Base Tigrex but uses more powerful roars, can be more aggressive.
Molten Tigrex: Rare Species; Special Attacks: able to produce Blast Powder similar to Teostra. Striking powder with claws or by simply just roaring will cause powerful explosions!
Starts off slow & easy to dodge, but as fight goes on, it gets angrier, & becomes faster & stronger. Also is incredibly huge!
Grimclaw Tigrex: Deviant; special attacks, rock throw now curves instead of going straight, can cause tremors & underground explosions when striking ground with claws.
Frenzied & Afflicted Tigrex: Tigrex that are infected by the Frenzy virus & Qurio. Frenzied Tigrex uses Frenzy Virus, Afflicted Tigrex can use Bloodblight. But over all Same basic Tigrex; just stronger.
The whole heat segment is redendant, when an animal is that big and heavy body temperature is always hot by default....the thing's bigger than a freaking Mammoth
He’s for sure been nurfed - much easier in the later games
my son tigz
yatta!
This monster gets too much hate
Tea-Grex or Tie-Grex? 🤔🤔
i like both. and in the narration of some of the games, it’s said with both types
Meanwhile Magnamalo is straight out of God Eater or something, kinda like Vajra.
not a fan of unrealistic monster tho, but still there are a lot of good monster design in mh rise
While magnamalo itself is a cool monster, i don't feel like he belongs in monster hunter. Another example would be valstrax. World started off great, trying to create an ecosystem, with a fitting set of monsters and maps and i wish we could have had more of that. Anjanath for example feels like a very basic but fitting newer design, similar to tigrex.
Monster Hunter in general seems to have turned into a much different game now(mostly for the worse imo) and the fast paced and flashy combat will probably be complimented by even more flashy monsters. At least we still have our palette of iconic older monsters to fall back on(hopefully).
@@wulli_ Valstrax isn't as bullshit as Magnamalo. From an ecology point, Valstrax is just a very big migratory bird, in constant search of bio-energy. While Magnamalo is very wobbly from an ecology point, his design is mostly accurate story wise. Because he's related to the Rampages, which explains why he has so much weaponry, he needs to feed its inner gas thingy (the will o wisp) and impress his future females. But this doesn't explain why and how the species evolved for so many weaponry before the Rampages = A species can't evolve/adapt to an event only occuring all 50 years (or this means Magnamalo can hibernate)
Also what are you talking about ? Stop panicking and talking like MH is suddenly doomed. It's not because Magnamalo is an overthetop design, it means that MH in general is doomed to be flashier and less realistic. Moreover, Magnamalo is THE ONLY flashy monsters since Valstrax and Bloodbath Diablos (4th gen). So calm the heck damn, MH Rise/SB is not even a true main game, this is a team B game. The next MH will surely take the example of MHW. People had the same opinion with MH Gen and its anime fights, but we all shut up when MHW arrived. So stop worrying, nothing has shifted, this is just *ONE* game trying and experimenting new things like MH Gen
@@bobisuncanny2760 My problem mostly lies with their looks. Just one example is the incredibly vibrant red all over valstrax and his attacks, which looks very unnatural. This iteration of his looks especially exaggerated in that regard.
His ecological background is also just a wildcard to put him into every habitat, as was needed of him when he was first introduced. That however, is no excuse for him not fitting in thematically with the other more realistic monsters.
Personally, I prefer the more realistic theme for monster hunter, which is where it has it's roots. Visually, this valstrax just does not feel aligned with that.
I still like both valstrax and magnamalo as individual monsters and overall it is not a big issue, it was just meant to contrast the video.
So I am not panicking because of magnamalo, but because of a multitude of other fundamental changes to the game in this generation, compared to the old ones. I feel like I could go on for a while, talking about all my issues with both world and rise.
Rise clearly took inspiration from world, so why wouldn't they in turn adopt features from rise into their next game.
This is where my anxiety stems from, imagining the worst of both games and maybe adding in some new "experiments".
I hope you are right, that we will get the best of both worlds instead and I am just being a pessimist^^
None of this shit even mattered before World came along and tried to make everything uber-realistic
I like your style of video for these. Informative with a good mixture of facts/lore and your own personal opinions - all while not being bloated or overpadded. This's good stuff.
Thanks so much, that means a lot. I’m really glad you like it.
to be that fucking guy - it's not an "over the head" lift of a baan, it's a side toss, considerably lower str requirements for that
I’m actually not a fan because it’s design is too simplistic.
