It's actually significantly more incredible if you know about Brachydios lifestyles, which showcase that the parents are indifferent towards the hatchlings. Said hatchlings who try to use the slime mold too young actually blow themselves up, horrifically maiming or outright killing themselves in an uncaring world. This is because their body hasn't grown the shell needed to withstand the blowback. The training montage is your rider in the "timeskipped training between hatching and saddled up" where you personally worked your ass off to help your brachydios toughen up and be able to use the slime mold to 100% effectiveness. The montage is now the memories of how it was YOU who did all that, and how THEY want to repay your gift.

yeah I loved Narugas animation in the end. Kinda miss it from Silverwinds tho I have to admit that ones finish is still cool. whole thing gave me Omnislash vibes :)

Just love these animations so much, they're all so expressive and alive looking, and each show off every individual monsters personality and abilities! One animation can tell you everything you need to know about a monster!
If Stories 3 ever comes out, it'd be nice if some of the kinships were to revamped or changed to look like the Stories 1 kinship (Hot take: Rathian's was better in the first game). An interesting thing they could do with Silverwind is make him move so fast that his after-images are attacking before finishing-off with the tail slash of Stories 2.

I miss my diablos on the first game... I rarely used other monsties because he tanks almost everything except any ice attack... And glad to see the elder dragons that was supposed to be on the English 1.3 update of the game we never had...

The Brachydios was the most epic of all, because for those who don't know, at birth they end up abandoned by their parents and become the prey of other monsters and the training flashback shows us how we can stand out from the others, since while they raid Other adults in the wild, there will be others who will grow greatly, thanks to the hard work and the support of your loved ones.

No not really, they do change explosion when both monstie use a element attack of the same type as the other (fire + fire = flame tower ), but don’t get recorded into the kinship gallery though
