    I have now test these tyres for 4000km on my 2018 KTM sas. Great tyre on many ways works on wide range of roads. Only thing I would love to see is that front tyre should have deeper wider thread pattern, still the same type of pattern. On loser gravle road you going to miss more biffier front tyre. But overall I like these tyres they are very good.

    Old video, still a great rear tire. This is the best rear tire I've found for my year round use (98% paved, 2% FS roads) on my SuperTenere in northwest Washington. It's predictable on gravel and excellent on wet pavement, regardless of temperature. I've been badly disappointed by frequent lack of traction with the Trailmax Mission rear and Motoz GPS rear tires on cold, wet pavement.
    I'll go back to this Michelin. I got 8,117 & 9,888 miles from the two I've used. The greater mileage was achieved on longer roadtrips as opposed to backroad romps.
    *I run a Trailmax Mission front, didn't like the Anakee Adventure front much on gravel.

    • @chaparralmotorsports

      Hello, the Metzeler Tourance are a good option. They deliver a relatively quiet ride on the pavement, provide really good traction, offer predictable handling, and you can get upwards of 10K miles on the front and a little less on the rear depending on your riding style/terrain.

    Anybody with any common Sense would know that tire will not do well in sand snow or mud. It's just not made for that but it's great to see a dual compound adventure tire that should be a standard for a given by today's technology.

      Michelin didn't brag about the Anakee IIIs on wet pavement, so I had some doubts when riding on mine, although I never went down on them. They do brag about the Anakee Adventure's performance in the wet, which is reassuring.

  • @fiveowaf454
    @fiveowaf454 2 роки тому

    I have the Anakee 3 tires on my GS, they came standard, and I really don't like them. Firstly they are very noisy on the road for a tire that doesn't have a heavy tread. Secondly and more importantly they provide very little feedback while at the same time inspiring little confidence, they are truly horrible on tar snakes. The only reason they are still on the bike is because I'm not sure what to fit instead, I don't want to be out of the frying pan into the fire. I like the look of the Anakee Adventure, but my Anakee 3 experience makes me nervous of them.

    Hard to trust anyone doing a tire review that says anything positive about the Anakee 3. In 34 years of riding, I’ve never encountered a spookier or less confidence inspiring tire than the Anakee 3. They had terrible grip. Cornering and wet conditions were the worst. They were OEM on my ‘15 R1200GS. I threw them away after 1,500 miles. I can’t trust a review that doesn’t point out the Anakee 3’s dangerous grip issues.

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  5 років тому

      Thank you for your comment Duane M. I ran the Anakee 3's when they were first released on my 2008 R1200GSA. I rode them on a 5 day trek in late 2012 covering nearly 3k miles from the San Fran Bay Area up to Yosemite, into the snow (they sucked)... Up and over to Mono Lake, North into Oregon and then down the coast through the Avenue of the Giants and ... back home. The Anakee 3 worked great for me in all situations - except for Snow. They were LOUD and that was the reason I took them off... I have not run them since that ride... as there are (in my opinion) more off road capable tires in the same genre of tire... And because I like a more knobby / aggressive tire. -- Kyle

    • @janot3661
      @janot3661 5 років тому

      I fully agree with Duane M. Anakee 3 was the worse tyres I ever used on my 1200 GS ADV. Especially the front tyre. No grip in cornering, no grip on wett conditions.

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  5 років тому +1

      I used the Anakee 3 in try conditions only in Death Valley when the tire was released. Other than being LOUD on the highway, It did surprisingly well. I did ride it in the Snow and it was MISERABLE. I could not keep the bike off its side.... and like 5 miles took me ALL Day. It was rough. Thanks for taking the time to comment and share you opinion / feedbak. - Kyle

    • @fiveowaf454
      @fiveowaf454 2 роки тому

      Your experience with Anakee 3's mirrors mine, it's hard to put my finger on exactly what it is that makes them feel so unnerving, but I don't feel confident to push the bike at all there is no feedback from them, yet I sense a lack of grip. In addition the noise level for a tire that is so close to a road tire tread wise is ridiculous and irritating. Still trying to decide on what to replace them with.

    • @1silvervespa
      @1silvervespa Рік тому

      I ran two sets of Annekee 3's With ZERO issues they ran fine .
      Unless you got them on wet grass they moved you .
      And Noise I never ever heard them ....
      I think a lot of BS from people who ride 99 % dirt and roads are suggestive. ..
      As a road and dirt road tire they worked fine .
      I switched up to Adventures and they are holding up just fine.
      I think some brand loyalty out there is more hype than reality .
      I hear many complaints on the popular names made me think there's no trusting feed back on fourns at all ........
      Cause it just did not match up with real world riders .

      Understandable. These are 80/20 (road/offroad tires) so they are not geared for heavy offroad terrain or use. Although in our testing we found them to be quite good amongst 80/20 tires, coming in second only to the Shinko 705s. Thanks for watching and commenting.
