    This video showed me i get that twinge of sadness even when watching others break down camp, signaling an end to an amazing hunt and camp! Well done men!

    Kickass video most people skip over camp during a elk hunting video ty for touching on how your camp is put together.

      I noticed that as well. Figured I’d do a camp focused video. Hopefully it helps someone when they’re planning for their next hunt 👍🏻

      It definitely made the rest of the hunt much more relaxing knowing I had already punched my bull tag.

    It's almost like a camp we set up in 2021 in the San Juan mountains. We have all the same things minus electric bikes. We made a heated shower shelter out of an eazy up and tarps.

    Nice video, we just got back from CO for 2nd season. Looking to invest into this type of setup for out of state hunts. The amount of hotels I've stayed at would have already covered the cost. Thanks for some ideas.

      On top of the cost savings, we saved 45 min to an hour of drive time each way from town. It was a much more efficient use of our limited time.

    I made the freezer in the back of the trailer mistake once, loaded balanced and empty……filled it with meat, and forgot it’s the weight of a small cow. 8 hr trip turned into 24 it was so unstable.

    • @justmitchell17
      @justmitchell17  15 днів тому

      It did fine as it was offset by all the other gear loaded over or in front of the axles. But you definitely have to consider how you load it for sure

    So glad you focused on these tasks and preparations! It’s all commonly skipped over. What’s the music artist?

      Thanks! I’m unsure who to credit for the music. It’s a generic free music through my editing software.

      No worries,… keep up the good work!… if you search wall tents on UA-cam,.. there’s limited content. This focus on preparation is in a class of its own. I’m a rancher in Wyoming and the individuals we open up hunting to are all across the “table”… some prepared,.. others, no idea, of what to expect!… we should collaborate on this topic!!

    I have a cold drink hack that has worked for us. We did it on the ski slopes. But you put all your beers in a paper bag and then put em in the snow or at the base of a tree. They don't freeze or turn to slush. It's magical. Now if you're in a single digit temperature climate I can't help ya with that. But the paper bag shit works! Oh, and Elk is by the thousands in Montana. Seriously they just walk through the yard. A town Marshall dropped on right off his front porch. Packs by the hundreds running a muck eating all the cattle's hay.

    I wish I could shrink my camp setup down a bit and make it easier/quicker to setup and takedown. I have nowhere near the stuff you have. Nice camp

    • @justmitchell17
      @justmitchell17  7 місяців тому

      Just depends on what kind of camping you want to do. I camp a lot out of an ultralight backpack (extremely minimal) We just wanted more comfort for the week.
      Took us about 4 hours to setup/tear down.

    nice setup. what do you use for your porch setup?

    • @justmitchell17
      @justmitchell17  6 місяців тому

      The porch was built into the tent from Davis. We ordered it with the extra poles and the rain fly to cover the 7’ overhang.

    Joolca hottap with the shower stall would complete this. I have a 2 burner tabletop griddle that does not work well in cold, won't produce enough heat. I wonder about a covered area around the firepit, maybe a popup with a vented roof. I have one but don't think it would handle snow like that.

    • @justmitchell17
      @justmitchell17  7 місяців тому

      Huh. We had an issue with the griddle being too hot and burning on the camp chef 3 burner at 9700’. Had to turn it down some.

    • @madman432000
      @madman432000 7 місяців тому

      @@justmitchell17 Probably just a cheap griddle on my part. Cast iron griddle on camp stove works great.

    Just got back from 2nd season rifle in Craig. It was brutal. The winter killed a lot of elk. The GMU is 13. Y'alls set up is definietly not single A.

    Male version of "high maintenance."

    • @justmitchell17
      @justmitchell17  21 день тому

      Driving straight through for 27 hours to sleep in a canvas tent on the side of mountain on public land DIY hunt in subzero temperatures with a foot of snow 45 minutes from the nearest town is the exact opposite of high maintenance. But thanks for watching👍🏻

    The fact you have a million plus dollar operation helps. Stay out of colorado. You richies have destroyed the hunting.

    • @justmitchell17
      @justmitchell17  7 місяців тому +2

      I fail to see how the cost of our wall tent affects your hunt🤔
      We’re just a couple hardworking guys who invest (several thousand dollars) in reusable gear so we can take one low budget DIY hunting trip a year across the county. OTC Colorado is the cheapest elk hunt in the country and we stayed on public land for free. Your bitter, resentful narrative doesn’t really fit here bud……
