Can't wait for the follow up movies- Throne And Liberty is ruining my life; Throne and Liberty - Why I stopped playing; and not to forget Throne and Liberty in 2025 - Is it worth playing?
Give it 6 months. Most people would be making "pro" videos if they were given 50-100k payout. I remember all the crypto promoted by celebrities and athletes.
Throne and liberty is actually fun. Its a new mmo. The gameplay is fun. I am enjoying the rpg story. Its pretty. Well animated. The voice acting is legit good. And there is a lot of it. And the action gameplay is really engaging and fun. I love my greatsword/staff charatcer.
@@celuiquipeut6527 What makes it any better than all 30-50 other offerings out there? Shiny armor? Does it have an amazing story? Does it have far better combat? Does it have far better UI and ease of socialization. Does it have far better enemy or quest design? What makes it good enough to try beyond any of the other several dozen F2P or cheap MMOs?
Thanks for this - I was going to skip T&L, but now I'm playing and really enjoying it. In the tutorial I love being able to try out all the weapons and combat skills at the dummies and practice the rotations for as long as I want before starting the game. I've settled on Longbow / Dagger. I especially like the Dagger starting skills, and I think they'll complement the Longbow well.
There's a "loading screen" and it's when you are casting the teleport. But it's very seamless because you think you are casting that it doesn't look like a normal or regular loading screen. It's very well thought in that area and a few more.
"Dare I say I think this might be an MMO that respects your time." The Game: Go grind bosses both in dungeons and in the open world for a 3% drop rate item that might not even have a stat you want, and then when you do get it with a stat you want, do it again 12 times to max out that singular piece of gear. Repeat ad nauseam or drop several hundred dollars to just buy the correct stats from the Real Money Only Auction House.
If you're efficient and know what to do you can max out fairly fast. Got nearly fully trated bis (from dungeons) weapons without spending anything in less than 2 weeks because i learned on kr before. Make sure to use your trait unlock and trait conversion stones on the right pieces and traits and snipe cheap items on the auction house to use for stacking blessings or resell 👌
Pity system from tokens? farming blues to level traits? doing contracts to get tokens for trait rerolls? Selling good trait drops on marketplace to buy your own traits???
My only problem with the system is how almost every "type" of gear has very clearly optimal passive and the other ones arent worth any sort of thought besides hyper specific builds
There's been Maintenance twice this week, being 5 - 6 Hours for each. I believe the last one was toward solely Login, Server & Auction House stability. I will say, with the game only being released 5 days ago and the team quickly addressing Bugs / Load times, the game may get a lot smoother quicker than we thought (personally).
Throne and Liberty: It's already P2Win all over. Pay to Skip, pay for gears, pay for upgrades, pay for instant boost, game mechanic is crap game loop is crap. Upgrading gears, equipments and skills is a slot machine gambling mechanic, disgustingly Devs are selling powerful items at Auction House, encouraging you to spend money on Lucent, bypassing P2W cash shop controversies.
So far I really like it. I also really like morphing. It is something different and to me feels good. If they could improve it more i will not miss mounts at all.
Tbh I also abit amazed by the quality of the main story (I'm still pretty much at the beginning tho), they deliver it SERIOUSLY with voice over & cool splash art, and at some part it's touching, even. Also another little things like feeding stray cat/dog, I found it refreshing. It's ok-ish but well polished.
I really dont think its a problem, other mmos doesn't allow you to just fully switch class, this game atleast makes it physically possible to switch, better than nothing
Agreed. I just want to go full nuclear mage, not have to switch to a shitty bow for half of the combat. Also number of abilities is really low per class.
@@ozoz189it can still be fine a lot better. Archeage is a fairly similar style game in many respects, and that has a much better class system, which also allows you to switch fairly easily (provided you have gear to accommodate the class you switch to, so switching between mage and melee requires 2 almost completely different sets of gear, which is expensive but possible, while switching between dps mage and cc mage for example, is super easy).
Kira/KiraTV put it best - "Take what content creators opinion on this game very, very liberally with salt. A lot of them are in top guilds and are playing a completely different game than you." (When talking about guilds/getting spoon fed gear) Games that allow you to use cash shop currency for an auction house is bad design
how is it worse than buying 3rd party sides who bot ingame currency for you? you people really gotta stop QQing about p2w, its always been there and it wont go away, and it sure af isnt something limited to korean/asian games
Actually, that use bring them currency don’t allow player to play trading and only a lot of sell shit through the auction. House are the best solution they discourage or don’t encourage dumping because there’s no way to trade between players games like warfare frame where you actually trade directly to the player and they can’t platinum that that’s best for games where you have to go to the auction house and buy it with premium currency. That’s perfect, the only thing they have to do is give us a little seed currency to get us going
@@YuIivee are you trying to imply that everyone buys 3rd party currency? Cause thats definitely not the case lol. Games like this one allowing you to just straight up buy the gear you want with a credit card is horrible design, it just means that someone with a fatter wallet than you will always be ahead of you, all other things even.
I really love that you live the dream of many ppl here. Playing/testing games, doing money with that, living in Bangkok having a nice life. Wish u the best. Continue your way, we love you :)
I was desperate for a good character creator. I ask that of other MMOs, but no other game did it. BDO comes close, but it still results in weird angles. BDO's character creator is difficult to use. All other MMOs have trash character creator. Also, BDO environment suffers from pop-in.
I'm still playing Pax Dei for the housing. If Throne & Liberty gives us instanced empty plots of land and we could build castles like in Pax Dei, I would only ever play TL.
they are desperate for anything. Most of the games coming out these days suck. It's why Palworld kicked off so damn well cause it was a new refreshing game, with similarities to Pokemon. And it's why this is taking off cause it's a new refreshing game with similarities to Runescape
The idea of changing into an animal to sprint (or at least gain more speed) sounds cool for a Druid class. Making it a thing for everyone is really weird though lol.
its really not that big of a deal. its a lot quicker that wait to summon a mount, you can just transform into an animal automatically on the run, makes the gameplay experience a lot quicker. i dont know why people bash on it, i think is an excellent thing for an mmo
@@LuminorBeats gameplay isnt everything, if i'm a warrior I don't want to be a damn animal shifter... Immersion and theme plays a role. Also, there's plenty of games that dont interrupt movement when mounting. Example, in swtor you can mount while moving if you have that feature unlocked and it feels pretty good, well... for an old game of course.
@@joaoelvas8951come on, its a fantasy mmorpg, who says a warrior isnt supposed to shapeshift? is there a law for it? every game has unique aspect, if you wanna analyze every aspect in a rational way, nothing is gonna make sense. ffs people play the fucking game im sick of everyone complaining for such minor things.
@@LuminorBeats sure dude, enjoy it yourself, it's just my point of view, if I find it lame then so be it, I'm not gonna force myself to enjoy it. Why are you so mad lol
@@joaoelvas8951 It's 2024 and you can't say you dislike a feature without labeled a complainer. I too dislike this feature, very immersion breaking and generic, but I get why they did it, for convenience. It basically just saves them some coding for a character and mount animation together, that's why they did it, it makes it easier.
@@Fishy-i2g It just felt excessive to me. Like if you're trying to tell other people about the game focusing on like movement inertia and guard cancels as major cons about the game just feels like nitpicking
@@Fishy-i2g "game is crap" is as generic as you could state it. I grew up mainly playing Runescape and haven't enjoyed other MMO's in a long time. This one caught my eye and I love it. The world is wonderful, the quests are interactive and fun, the level system is nice, gear and stuff isn't too difficult to obtain, areas aren't locked by level or money to explore. Tons of unique mobs and content doesn't seem to fully die out the higher level you get. Saying "it's crap" and leaving it at that just seems like you got nothing to do but hate anything that people enjoy.
I felt the same way about the mounts but when my little brother saw that you turn into the animals instead he went crazy and loved the game, as gamers we can all relate to that moment you see something you absolutely like in a game and say to yourself I have to play it and as I'ved grown older I have learned to appreciate other people tastes, it might just be meant for a different generation
I used to be so dedicated to watching all your videos of Bigdamage. I was so determined to discover the next MMO that was going to make me feel something special. I hate to say it but for a long time I've kind of accepted that there isn't going to be anything like the experience that vanilla WoW gave me, and I have stopped clicking on your videos. Yet I never turned off my notification bell. Then I saw the title of this and something was different. After watching, your opinion of this game is very different than most positive reviews you give, and for the first time in a long time, I am downloading this game to try it out. *Crosses fingers*
My biggest concern with Throne and Liberty is the same I had about Lineage 2 in 2004, that we'll find something we love, a game we really enjoy... and zero feedback to improve it will be shared since its an eastern dev and western complaints. But we'll see where this journey goes!
LazyPeon when he isn't paid; This is filled with microtransactions, I hate it, this is the worst. LazyPeon when he is paid; This is filled with microtransactions but ALL MMOS ARE.
"Boiling Frog Syndrome " Equipment and skills upgrading is designed like a slot machine gambling mechanic. Devs are selling powerful items at Auction House, encouraging you to spend money on Lucent, bypassing P2W cash shop controversies.
I dont know if you didnt know this fact, but if you have received any form of payment from something you are reviewing you LEGALLY have to disclose it. And yes they do care about things like this they crackdown on it almost instantly and all the time
You are so objectively right ! One thing I have (to kind of) disagree. But that doesn’t change the animation lock stuff etc. I was able to set the combat up exactly like WoW combat and it made the game soooo much better and enjoyable for me
Just because every Korean MMO is P2W does not mean it's okay for this one to do it too. That's like saying committing fraud is okay because everyone else is doing it.
@13:59 min Dude.. thats also mostly due to PVP.. imagine PvP scenes where players constantly re-enter "dog mode" after being 1 second out of combat. This way they prevent a perma sprint combat situation, especially for casters who would take advantage out of it. It is intended that dog mode is limited and you cant sprint at any time, especially while being in combat and PVP.. learn to handle/ration your endurance, easy as that. Primarily dog mode is there to conveniently travel fast around the world and not for being used frequently in combat. Same goes also for PvE.. you shouldnt have endless endurance while running through a camp of mobs to get away too easily but that would happen if you dont lose endurance after being 1 second out of combat. Its a penalty system.
then they could just make it so that you can't do that in pvp combat, but still can after pve. "and not for being used frequently in combat" but if it's active for 10 seconds after combat, that's kinda shit ngl.
@@besmen42 same goes for PvE.. that would be an advantages for ranged classes to kite around constanly in wolf mode without struggling to get hit.. besides: i dont want to constantly transform into a wolf as part of combat/farming ..and personally its not a turn off for me.. plenty MMORPG endurance systems, like in Dark Age of Camelot work like that for reasons.. and really no reason for complaining in my opinion. Its like i would complain why you cant easily change weapons 1 second after combat, too... these are game rules and people act like: "change it >I< dont like it" .. learn to handle your endurance smart, is part of your "skill" level. Besides as i said before: The different shift forms are primarily there to travel around faster.. wolf form may be an "oh sh%t" button when you are at low health in combat. But then again i think its handled well that you cant endlessly/easily sprint away then and may run out of endurance and die. That should be part of the gaming experience to die, if you arent good enough to handle a combat sitatuation
Now as a 30 year old dad who had his dose of MMO's back in 2008 playing Lineage 2, and trying to scratch the same itch since then: this game is perfect. An hour or two a day getting lost in a beautiful fantasy world with thousands of other players, meeting new friends, making memories. It has it's quirks and I hope they listen to your and others criticism and not ruin it, but all in all it's a blast.
@@sketchyx8307 lmao we do know we played all other MMOs since lineage and they were all trash. Now I admit I liked ff14 but it doesn’t really feel like an MMO.
One thing I've noticed is that dungeons are class-specific. For example, if you need a tank set, you'll go to A, and if you need a healer set, you'll go to B. This results in dungeon queues being a mess because there's literally no reason for a healer or tank to go to other dungeons, unless they want to specialize in something else
The morphs are great. They're intuitive and make running around in both dungeons and pvp a kind of communication. You can see immediately when someone isn't morphing at a correct time during a boss mechanic, or when your group needs to move during large scale pvp combat.
0:26 YES! Combat and movement is terrible, character controls sucked for me so much, that I quit after half a day. I feel devs were busy adding billion different things and systems to the game so they had no time to make those things feel good for a player.
What 'billion' things are you talking about? Black Desert literally had one of the best action combat while also allowing you to build an economical empire, the game just sucked in other many ways
@D201-o4k oh my bad I didn't realize I was talking to such a legend in the scene my apologies big dog. I'll just continue to enjoy throne while bdo continues to die . R.i.p
I am downloading the update for this game as i type and you are the first persons content i have watched on the game. I really like the look of it. 100% going warrior they look cool
My biggest complaint right now is something you didn't address: dungeons. Right now they are the best way of obtaining a lot of the endgame gear in the game, and that gear is split amongst several different dungeons. There are dungeons with good dps loot, others with good healer loot, and still others with good tank loot. This means that matchmaking for the dungeon you need takes WAY longer than it should, because each role only wants to run the dungeon that gives them their type of loot. Matchmaking regularly takes 15+ minutes, usually trying to find a healer or a tank. Party finder is okay, but there's no way to role queue within it, I've ended up accepting Wand/Staff players thinking they are a healer, when really they are geared for dps. Something needs to change with dungeon loot to address these issues.
looks like you need to be a healer. As a healer main i like sipping my coffee and looking at dps mains complain about matchmaking timers taking too long while my queue pops almost instantly, every time XD
@@KazekageWilli I get why someone might see this and scoff, but even if it takes some headache to find the right group - you will never have more fun in any game, than in the one you're playing with your guild. :3
I prefer morphs over seeing mounts. With the tech this game uses, having hundreds of players on my screen along with their character models and mounts would probably push my computer to its limits. The morphs work fine in my opinion. Other mmorpgs like WoW don’t have nearly as many players on-screen at once, nor does it have the same graphical demands, so it can get away with it. Even then, I can’t stand seeing everyone on massive mammoths or flying mounts cluttering up my screen.
Yes but they need to do 4 things first: _get rid of downed mechanic in PvP . (Or nerf it in the ground) _Give meaningfull reward that aren't just skins. (And stop vomiting green and blue rewards that fill up your inventory.) _implement GvG!!! FFS the game is called guild wars but there is no GvG ... Or node wars in pve maps like in TnL. WvW could be great if winning was actually meaningfull. _stop with the enormous amount of different currencies.
Great video, I agree with most of your points. I wouldn't want them to remove morphs for sprints since its a unique mechanic although they can make the "shifts" more fluid. It feels like there is a massive jitter whenever I transform. I do think the progression needs to be explained better, if you need to watch a UA-cam video to avoid setbacks I think that is a redflag.
I was hyped for this game while watching early release. No lifed it for 4 days. After I got over the initial learning curve, I realized the game was fundamentally flawed. I don't care if the game is p2w, but there is absolutely no way for a f2p player to catch up to p2w players no matter how much they grind. This is because the progress in this game is timegated like a mobile game with its dailies and weeklies, and anything outside of that is remarkably unproductive. So you are not even allowed to grind hard. When archboss weapons come out they are so much better than anything else its not even close. And they are basically only available to p2w players. This creates a clear class difference. If you are f2p you only serve as means for p2w players to feel satisfied with their purchase as they smash your face in.
I dont know why koreans add that trash to their mmos black desert also had "energy" like a damn facebook game wtf lol luckily i saw it on the first hour and didnt wasted anymore time playing it
You can improve gameplay a lot by changing some settings(options -> Character), check/activate "auto target when using abilities" and "skillqueue". This is almost like playing without needing a target.
Wait, so you ask for them to add a QoL behind a cash shop Paywall? do you even hear yourself? How about this, Add the ability to an NPC that you can go to and reset your profession that you've built for In Game GOLD you absolute dunce instead of calling for a very obvious PAY2WIN QoL option. EVERY OTHER SUCCESSFUL MMO HAS FREE PROFESSION CHANGES BEHIND IN GAME CURRENCY. Just because its "Pay2Win" doesn't mean, lets go all in by adding more, thats a VERY SLIPPERY SLOPE. IF YOU'RE WILLING TO BUY THAT FROM THE CASH SHOP YOU OPEN PANDORAS BOX FOR EVERYTHING ELSE. Cosmetics only from here on out or the games dead.
Before I go into Throne and Liberty, I'll wait for your video next month. Seems like the game could use some bit of work but it seems promising if the Devs are taking feedback and improving the game.
53 seconds were enough for me to understand that it's actually a paid review and that there is no need to watch it further. Same sh*t as it was with New World - at first everyone agrees that the game is trash, then Amazon gives them money and "Boom!" the latest New World update is actually pretty good. I wish there was a blogger on UA-cam who better concentrate on honesty & donations from their viewers, so that no company could buy their opinion...
To be honest, my takeaway from this video is that the game looks great but plays really bad and the core of the game isnt great. That plus it being p2w just makes it even worse. Which I find funny with the title being "I was WRONG". If you just want to be super casual and run around and look at the pretty views it sounds like a great game. But if you want solid gameplay its best to skip this game.
Views, all he cares about is views on his videos. Needs to keep making new video's for new views so has to keep changing opinion with the wind. In a few weeks / months he will change his mind again.
@@Fishy-i2g Not the way I really see it, I see it more of a bad take over it being simply for views. A game can be "bad" and you still enjoy it. Hell I've been there myself. What I ment with the comment on the title is that hes saying that he was wrong but still the pretty much only positives he gives about the game is that it looks good.
Good video. I have been enjoying this game as well. Also, you are looking very good. Nice job, you make me feel guilty about the well rounded figure I have been keeping. :)
Meh. Coming from the guy who got dunked on for his awful XIV opinions and had a fit that GW2 wasn't essentially WoW, this is effectively the bare minimum from you.
Clunky gameplay, pay to win, rough game, quite playable free to play, a lot of improvements need to be made. Dude this sounds like your hooked cause you made progression not cause the game is good. When I'm behind a slot machine the moment I'm playing I like the machine but when I quit and walk away I know it is ridiculous. Addiction to plain bad things is a real thing.
I love the game so far! Targeting needs work for sure. My biggest gripe is healing…you have to find a campfire somewhere to get healed up…it’s annoying. Let us make our own fires whenever we want, they can even disappear when you get up and leave. Anyway, loving so far and I can’t wait to see the improvements they make!
I saw your comment about targeting issues...did you look at the astral vision box on the left side, shows you all mobs within specific range, i think this can be edited to a closer range, and also set the timer above for your needs to auto use so it refreshes what is in range...i use this to target specific mobs. not sure it will help but not sure if you looked at that. thank you for video
I haven't paid anything (other than for EA access) and I've farmed over 5k lucent.... I've made almost $100 of cash shop currency in 2 weeks like..... you don't have to pay to win. and I SMACK in PVE and im decent in PVP. Over 100 kills but I don't usually worry about PvP. First of all: this video is a 10/10 as there are none showing the things TheLazyPeon is commenting here. I'm now playing the game and I'm loving it. HOWEVER-> There are some important things not being said anywhere, big drawbacks that break the game atmosphere: 1) The fact that everyone can turn into a cartoonish wolf which color is different for each player, it makes the world full of colored wolves jumping and running around everywhere and it breaks the atmosphere a bit on those beautiful landscapes. Also too many flashy effects for every action. Even using the grap hook triggers a purple magic flashy animation. 2) All videos show the Eagle form flying on amazing panoramic views, reality is that Eagle form can only glide downwards and cannot really fly or ascend. Meaning most times you cannot almost use it unless you are already on a very high place so you use it to shortcut to the bottom. People may think they can fly around like World of Warcraft flying mounts but is not the case at all by any chance. 3) The game DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO WALK, you can only run. This is mindblowing as something so basic was not included. This breaks the atmosphere a lot, and prevents you from calmly enjoying the moment many times. It makes you feel that the game must be rushed, as you can only run everywhere and changing into a Wolf only makes you even faster. 4) When running (meaning all the time) and on Wolf form (even more) the FOV is too wide and big. Normally this is what we all like, but on this case it is so wide that the game forces "speed effects", like lines going on on the sides of your character, and turning the view into a tunnel effect. This sucks, and you cannot turn it off or change FOV in any way. So you have splendin fully detailed landscapes but when you run (all the time) it adds this effect that blurs the borders and makes impossible to check the details in the background. 5) You are permanently followed by Helpie, a floating cartoonish goofy doll that works as a tutorial sometimes. You cannot turn if off or remove her in any way. This also breaks the cool RPG medieval atmosphere, having a goofy anime doll floating following you everywhere. (You can turn off Amitois, but not Helpie) 6) For those who like to play support, healing others suck. Targeting other things than enemy is a pain in the ass that consists on having to presh multiple buttongs just to select your party ally and then heal him. Also, you cannot heal anyone that it is not in your party (and dont say all MMOs are like that because that is false. In fact you coudl heal everyone INCLUDING MOBS on Lineage 2. And also on WoW you can heal everyone, not only party members). But the big problem is the targeting part. P.D.: I love Lineage 2 and this game feels 10/10 on how beautiful it is sometimes. But these things ruins it many times and most of them are things that should be easy to solved adding Settings to address them.
These are some really good points, I had no idea you can't walk, I assumed you could, I'm gonna add a few of these points in a follow up addendum to this vid
Am I wrong to think new MMO's, Throne and Liberty included, are just bad? I'm comparing all new MMO's to an MMO from 10 years ago? Yes Black Desert has the most robust character customized, and best combat system still to this day in an MMO. That was 10 years ago. BD was an evolution in MMO's and everything else since is just going backwards. Early EQ2 had some of the most in depth crafting I've ever seen and no mmo since has come close.
BDO combat only works when your ping is low, it enters desync hell if your ping is above 250ms or so. BDO is not a bad game. But definitely not the one that outshines other MMO
My favorite feature of Throne and Liberty is that when you discover the game is actually a waste of space on your hard drive it only takes seconds to uninstall that bad boy. Its brilliant!
I'm so happy to lag again in a MMORPG! The lack of layering and the near total seamlessness of the world is very refreshing. I agree with a lot of point especially how they need to improve readability of the overhead display in combat.
This game is trash and here is why: Rare lithograph is not in the game, meaning you cant craft rare(blue) gear. Auction house is extremely limited you cant sell anything only some very few limited stuff. You can't do dungeons over and over since you are limited with Dimensional Contract Tokens. There is no battleground pvp 6v6 or 12v12. You can't transmog your gear or dye your gear. You can only transmog and dye shop gear. And you cant mail or trade stuff with other players.
Dungeon limits are what's done it for me. I wouldn't mind getting some good materials instead of gear. I just need some Incentive to spam dungeons, which is what I like to do in MMOs. Open dungeons are weird to me since they can become contested.
Show me a phone that can run it... How can be it mobile port, when there is no mobile version? Like they developed it for phone and instead of publishing it, they said! OH! Let's drop it on PC and consoles instead?
What I'm liking so far, especially as a PS5 player is how clean the UI is. Black Desert was busy enough on PC but it's downright unplayable on console. Like even opening a generic npc merchant window is an assault on the eyes. This game though? Sure there's a lot of stuff there in the menus and all but it's not overwhelming. It's all in how you present things that gets you to pull in players
P2W? yes! Do you have to turn down the graphics? yes! Combat clunky? yes! Bad single player experience? yes! without skins you look like a jester? yes! Console version a bad joke? yes! Pissed off pre-orderers and no real compensation? yes! boring asian/western blend story? yes! you need a party because party hunting is like getting punched in the face? yes! boring repetitive endgame like in countless other asian mmorpgs? Yes! does the game need more P2W mechanics to make it better? Definitely! I was wrong, the game is a masterpiece!
If you don't want to game with other humans play BG3 or a different single player game. MMO is by definition a game which should be played with multiple players.
After trying it, I'd say they've done a very good job with the feeling of the world, it just feels very nice, even though not very varied or just not exactly to my taste, but the green and vibrant areas are gorgeous, and it feels BIG, as it should. But unfortunately, I didn't enjoy anything else, especially the combat and movement, as Peon mentions in the video... and for me, the first priority is exactly that... also I don't appreciate having very flashy effects on every skill since it makes the important ones feel just the same, and there's just too much flash on the screen if you're playing with multiple players.
@@freefloydfreefloyd6176 The difference between Stoopz and Zeals is that Zeals still pretends to care about his viewers while feeding them obvious lies lol
"the combat while clunky does feel impactful" The biggest load of BS I've ever heard. It's floaty, unfeeling crap that has zero bite. You spam all your abilities, auto a bit and spam some more. This is lowest tier mobile combat and everyone knows it. The pratically everything form Miyoho has better combat and I don't even like genshin. I think you need to stop looking for something new and just go back to what works. WoW, FF14, GW2. The tried and true that keep going. All this halfassed shit has lowered people's standards to thinking eating mud is the way it has to be.
As a GW, GW2 and BDO vet that focused mainly into the pvp side of those games and eventually getting the hang of TL after the first few days I played it as a lvl 50 in both pvp and pve I strongly disagree with you and yes as Peon said it just works and it's fine while being a bit clunky. Stop bashing too much and get too playing and please learn to move on in your life. You don't like it? Move on the other 300k on steam and who knows how many on console ( yes it will drop - but not die as easy as you think )
Welldone my friend! You hit every point and said everything that we want to say positive and negative. I really hope the devs see this video I'll just add these things: 1 Increase melee range at least every tab target game has better range of melee weapons. 2 add cleave (aoe hit) of Greatsword and maybe Sword and shield 3 Show melee classes some love! We are in disadvantage point especially on Group pvp while ranged climbed higher ground and even your dash can't reach 4 add another melee weapon to the game 5 Show the fury purple circle in pvp for cc skills at least (so if you see incoming cc, you dodge roll it)
I just don't understand why almost every modern MMO release is using either tap target or some semi-action combat. It's like they're devolving. We had Wildstar and Tera back in the day which had proper, full action combat, why can't they replicate something similar with new releases? Even New World butchered their combat system since Aeternum with the auto aim.
@@DevlVergil Because MMO players dont have hands en masse unfortunately. It's all stat-checking and cosmetics. I just wish for a true BDO successor tbh, chrono oddysey is the best hope I've got.
True action combat isn't necessarily better. There's a lit of personal taste involved, but it also depends on the type of content. In mass PvP content, true action combat can be really frustrating and tab targeted hotbar style combat can be better. Maybe in the future, this will change, but for now I'd rather have tab target for mass pvp.
I agree, game would have been better if they designed it as action / PC focused from the start, the pivot from crossplay mobile massively limited its potential, I wonder to what extent they’ll be able to fix it
Honest question: Does the role class work in action combat? Especially the healer? I love playing as healer and clicking the single targets when I see their life is going low. If an MMORPG doesn't allow me to do that then I'm not touching it.
Guuyss! I've a question! Can i do triple weapon in T&L? What i mean is, i want to be a tank main, Shield + Greatsword just like his. But in PvE i want to fully tank support(Paladin) with Shield + Wand for healing. Is that possible or not viable? What could happen to my skills and stats if i do that?

Same thing happened to Lost Ark, look at where it is at rn. I simply just don't want to play the game during honeymoon phase, I like the game but I don't trust NCSOFT, I can guarantee they'll keep adding p2w shit in this game like what they did to Aion and BnS.

There is a setting in target that allows you to use spells without a target, just will target whatever is closest I believe you can change priority on this. It's a huge misstep in my opinion that the game doesn't have a proper action combat system. It's the main thing holding the game back and I think if an action combat system was added, the game would thrive for a long time. I'm currently struggling to find the motivation to play the game because I got to level 50 and the combat has improved but not really by that much. That and the party board is an hour long waiting room sometimes.
@@tresicario984 Yeah we had games like Wildstar 10 years ago. The action combat in this game was great and only had a few issues that could have been easily polished. Everyone thought full action combat is gonna be the future. How did we go from this back to the 2000s.
TL is GW2.1 but worst, they should have made just Guild Wars 3 instead. I have played Guild wars 2 for 10 years now and throne and liberty is just a copy paste of Guild wars 2 with new skills and WORST COMBAT. How the hell did they managed to screw the combat and go a step backwards?

Then there is the "rooting" combat system similar to what Guild wars 2 had, which roots you in place to cast skills. Like meteor shower from elementalist that roots you for 3 seconds or so... They managed to bring that back to Throne and Liberty. ANET improved most skills that rooted players in GW2 and that made combat feel fluid. Once example was the skill "flurry" which rooted the warrior in place and ANET changed it to smooth movement. But lets keep an open eye for future updates, maybe the creators of TL will also listen to user feedback and change the combat in future updates.
@@Scientist_Albert_Einstein I just tried throne and liberty and it is indeed clunkier but not a gamebreaker yet. @@dragonsieu76 Also the jumping from cliffs or near walls is very clunky. It looks like it was made by beginner developers. Less than 1 min in...Clunky movement, p2w. Visuals aren't enough to carry an MMo if core elements are so awful. Unique, but clunky and takes time to get used to combat? Make sure to use your trait unlock and trait conversion stones on the right pieces and traits and snipe cheap items on the auction house to use for stacking blessings or resell 👌

That should be part of the gaming experience to die, if you arent good enough to handle a combat sitatuation
you get a 1k CC debuff resistance while in dog form you should morph that easily in pvp

Yup, you get 3 item and skills loadouts so just make sure you have a dps/healer/tank builds so you can just slot in with whatever is missing

I felt like in this video, the "old" Lazy Peon is back. Thanks for this video :)
I dont know why koreans add that trash to their mmos black desert also had "energy" like a damn facebook game wtf lol luckily i saw it on the first hour and didnt wasted anymore time playing it
I love the game so far
You can improve gameplay a lot by changing some settings(options -> Character), check/activate "auto target when using abilities" and "skillqueue". This is almost like playing without needing a target.
I think i've aldready tried these but if not and it does improve my gameplay it would be great, thanks !

On free games just try it yourself lol
He has the same mentality of a WoW player that rushes through the main quest to get to endgame and then can't get past keystones +6 and quits.

First of all: this video is a 10/10 as there are none showing the things TheLazyPeon is commenting here. I'm now playing the game and I'm loving it.
HOWEVER-> There are some important things not being said anywhere, big drawbacks that break the game atmosphere:
1) The fact that everyone can turn into a cartoonish wolf which color is different for each player, it makes the world full of colored wolves jumping and running around everywhere and it breaks the atmosphere a bit on those beautiful landscapes.
(You can turn off Amitois, but not Helpie)
6) For those who like to play support, healing others suck.
You can turn off the floaty thing for yourself and other players
These are some really good points, I had no idea you can't walk, I assumed you could, I'm gonna add a few of these points in a follow up addendum to this vid
Throne actually looks crazy good now wtf that's an insane change from before 😮
Am I wrong to think new MMO's, Throne and Liberty included, are just bad? I'm comparing all new MMO's to an MMO from 10 years ago? Yes Black Desert has the most robust character customized, and best combat system still to this day in an MMO. That was 10 years ago. BD was an evolution in MMO's and everything else since is just going backwards. Early EQ2 had some of the most in depth crafting I've ever seen and no mmo since has come close.
Ionno man. Go play BDO then. The rest of us will be playing Throne and Liberty.
BDO combat only works when your ping is low, it enters desync hell if your ping is above 250ms or so. BDO is not a bad game. But definitely not the one that outshines other MMO
BDO, GW2 and archeage (rip) are the 3 horses of innovative MMORPG.
Sadly they all had their issues that prevented them in reaching the top.
@@jh_box As it should, people with ping above 100 shouldn't even be able to join competetive games
This game is trash and here is why:
Rare lithograph is not in the game, meaning you cant craft rare(blue) gear.
And you cant mail or trade stuff with other players.
its mobile game more then anything else..........the way its set up with some many limits.
Dungeon limits are what's done it for me. I wouldn't mind getting some good materials instead of gear. I just need some Incentive to spam dungeons, which is what I like to do in MMOs. Open dungeons are weird to me since they can become contested.
The game is screaming mobile port for me + it's from NCSoft, it's enough for me to know how the game's going to end unfortunately
Show me a phone that can run it... How can be it mobile port, when there is no mobile version? Like they developed it for phone and instead of publishing it, they said! OH! Let's drop it on PC and consoles instead?
@@mafioSSi actually not a mobile game but this started as an "auto-play" mmo thats why its clunky

We get it. You got paid. The game sucks. And you have no credibility left. Feel free to delete my comment but it don't change the truth.

Welldone my friend! You hit every point and said everything that we want to say positive and negative.
I really hope the devs see this video
I'll just add these things:
1 Increase melee range at least every tab target game has better range of melee weapons.
2 add cleave (aoe hit) of Greatsword and maybe Sword and shield
3 Show melee classes some love! We are in disadvantage point especially on Group pvp while ranged climbed higher ground and even your dash can't reach
4 add another melee weapon to the game
5 Show the fury purple circle in pvp for cc skills at least (so if you see incoming cc, you dodge roll it)
Did they suddenly pay you to change your mind? 😂
💯
if only the combat was true action combat this game would have been brilliant.

It's a huge misstep in my opinion that the game doesn't have a proper action combat system. It's the main thing holding the game back and I think if an action combat system was added, the game would thrive for a long time.
