Orange County choppers was located in Newburgh NY 😂
West Coast Choppers is the one in Calif.
When are u guys gonna ride the ccm spitfire bobber
Yammie... How the hell could you forget the new Indian Chief!
Someone messed up...lol Orange county choppers wasn't based out of orange county California....it was orange county NY. The shop is now for sale. It's about 20 minutes from my house.
Yeah, that was a pretty big mistake. 🙂
Came to the comments to find this one! Lol.
Was hoping someone said it.
You're right. I just made a similar comment.
Newburgh, NY. Can see the shop from i87. Used to deliver to a couple places in town near them.
First bike was Indian Scout Bobber (big boy version). No regrets, hands down best decision of my life.
I’m about to go get my first motorcycle. 2021 Indian Scout Bobber Twenty. This video was well placed for me lol.
@@salty8752 it's gunna change your life, have fun!
@@matthewsinclair507 will do.
Such a good looking bike once you take those giant pipes off it
@@Meowface. yup! Did that in the first month! Now if doesn't sound like a sewing machine.
I've got a 2021 Indian Scout Bobber in that maroon matte paint. Literally purchased it because of the engine and that paint color. It's so damn good to look at. 2 years later I'm still in love.
Thank you Yam and team for all your videos, especially recently the ones with Derrick! I passed my MSF today!
Thank you so much for this Yam. Learned a lot and have even more of an appreciation for his style of bike than I already did coming which was quite high already. Love the look of those Indian bobbers. Jeez
Loving my 2022 Triumph Bonneville Bobber. Some are pointing out the ride is harsh, but it’s my 3rd bike that doesn’t see many miles. Love riding it around, whether it’s highway or city. Always get great compliments and start some cool conversations. It’s the one motorcycle in my stable right now I’d never sell.
Orange county CA 🤣🤣🤣
Lol
Glad I wasn’t the only one that caught that.
🥹how cute
I'm going to lie to myself and say he was making a joke
snowed a lot there
Just got done with my metric bobber, by far the best looking bikes IMO. Just hate the Californian lane filtering bars but most look amazing.
Best looking bikes? Lmao. Get lost scrub. Sport and naked bikes look better than that garbage. Go cry
Eleven years and 84,000 miles ago, I went with a used 2009 Nightster. Reliable as an AK-47, and just as refined. I rode it today, still crushing miles. One of the first things you change is the suspension front and rear. For reference, the first thing I changed on my 2018 DRZ was the suspension, front and rear.
Currently building a 77 Shovel bobber. Can’t wait to get back riding.
I bought an Indian Scout Bobber back in Feb and love it. I had a bad experience at the Harley dealer where I learned how to ride and remembered your Indian Scout video and pulled the trigger on one.
I've been driving my Indian Scout Bobber since January and I don't regret a second. I've already changed it a bit optically: new seat, Wunderkind custom parts from Germany, new exhaust system and a few cosmetics. I love this bike and am almost sure I will keep it after buying my second machine. Yes, sometimes it hurts when your spine comes out of your neck when you hit a pothole. But I love her.
I am wondering if the Scout Bobber 60 would be ok for a new rider? I really love the way those Indians look but I don’t have much experience.
Hey @@Allie_Rose! I definitely recommend that you do a little test drive. As for the experience, I can only tell you how it was for me. Here in Germany we have to pass a theoretical and a practical test for motorcycling - even if we already have a driver's license. This guarantees a safe start even for beginners. The bike itself is a little uncomfortable, but it is beautiful and unique on the market along with the Triumph Bonneville Bobber. The performance of the Sixty is definitely enough to have fun with it. You can also customize them with many after market parts. As for the price, you have to know that it is definitely not cheap. For a beginner, I think a Scout Bobber is a good choice, but of course you have to be aware that this is a fairly heavy bike with compromises in equipment. As a really good alternative, I can definitely recommend the Honda Rebel 1100 or the Vulcan S. Much cheaper, good equipment - just a little less soul. Drive safe!
@@lucidfox. Thank you for the recommendations!
Just want to say that I appreciate you reliable content.
Just bought a Indian scout bobber 3 days ago so this was a welcome vid. Started on a svartpilen earlier this year due to this channel. Keep it up!
How is the Black Arrow? What is its’s pros?
@@framestomind7548 The svart was really nice, looked amazing, rode well. Great for the money. I only upgraded because i had a good opportunity and the indian was my dream bike. Svart did surprisingly well off road, brakes were amazing. Suspension was really nice. Only drawbacks were its gas tank being really small, and it low weight made it really get blown around badly by any crosswind or turbulence from other vehicles at high way speeds.
I love my Bonnie Bobber. Super fun. It's definitely a form over function bike but frankly any motorcycle is form over function in the US
Sees a guy in town on his Bergman (and of course it was in Beige), nah, there are a few that are all function no form. Rare, but there are a few.
I recently got to test ride jawa perak. It fits a lot of the check points about bobbers, and its an absolute delight to ride. Just so light and quick for a bike that capacity
My new to me 02 Triumph Daytona is total Bauhaus - form follows function. Fast, comfortable & light compared to other bikes that can outrun any stock Harley & has a bit of aero for doing the ton up. Given what I want to practice, it’s pretty practical. I feel the need…and I don’t enough wind in a car. Does have a pillion seat, my one concession to fancy.
Any bike that keeps its rider happy is a practical bike.
- Matt’s dad, still doing what I want
I do love my 2018 Indian scout bobber but I did have to change the seat and bars. Took it on a nice ride this year, Pennsylvania to Tennessee, rode the dragon. Then to Murphy north Carolina and from there up to Connecticut to visit some friends and back to Pennsylvania.
Definitely not the most comfortable bike for such a trip but it was plenty of fun!
It’s like Yammie is reading my thoughts. Was about to pull the plug on an Indian Bobber!
I bought one in 2018. I love it however I had to change the seat and I put some 12" apes on mine. The factory seat was atrocious.
Do it.
If I hadn't changed my preferences to retro nakeds, I would be all over that bad boy... that Scout screams "ride me" louder than my ex....
Plug or trigger? 🤔
@@positivelynegative9149 hilarious!
I was having the same thought
This was actually an enjoyable video! Thank you for this!
Yammie had a bobber of a time keep up the good work
Big pros for awesome classical music in the background - love it! And also the content!
Umm, American chopper was in orange county NY.... 😳
My first bike was a Basket Case 57 Pan, which I built into a Bobber. That aside, the ACT of creating a Bobber is a Bob-Job, the Bike itself is a Bobber.
Plug for the Royal Enfield Classic as a great new Bobber you can get. Removing the pinion gives it a def Bobber look. Despite the low HP numbers, it's been one of the best bikes I've ever owned. Handles way better than it has any right to.
Facts Yammie great vid bro so I brought all these thumbs ups for ya algorithms fam great job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💫💯🚀
An advertisement for the Indian Scout Bobber was the bike that made me decide to learn to ride a motorcycle at all... absolutely love the look of that bike. Still don't own one, and probably never will... but I will always have a soft spot for that bike... maybe if they sell enough of them that they become super cheap as they age, I'll get one.
Very Informative video on Bobber's.
Great video ! Thanks
Have an XL1200 Nightster w/ about 100 custom features. Looks and runs great. Not overly comfortable.
Just got my bobber style motorcycle. Indian Scout Rogue. Love it. It is amazing
I think the best “bobber” style motorcycle from factory is definitely the Harley 48 sportster the fat tires the peanut tank low handlebars nothing fancy really on it I just think it looks the most bobber of any new bike from factory just my opinion
Lol I really liked the 48 too until I found the Triumph bobber. It's literally what pops in my head when I think bobber style.
agree 100%
@@calebsmith5550same here..I just wish the tank wasn’t so small because I like to ride a lot. I also learned to slow the hell down and got better mileage. No brainer I suppose..
I just bought the Bonneville bobber a few months back and I absolutely love it.
Man, you own my dream bike. I currently own a VFR for my first bike but saving up for a bonnie bobber. How's it been so far of owning it?
@@V4demon_ I love it, did a few mods and I absolutely love riding it.
@emcsquared8681 When I went for my test, I had my mind set on a harley 48. My step dad, who's a big hooligan motard and sportbike rider, would take the piss saying they are junk, etc. Found me this VFR, I do love it, sounds great, and it is quick, but I just love that bobber look. The sound and look of Vtwins and parallel bobbers just hit it for me, and for right out the factory, the bonneville bobber just ticks all the boxes. Have you done exhaust and fender delete?
@@V4demon_ yeah, changed up the exhaust I also put shorty fenders on front and back. Downturned mirrors. I got the chrome addition which I just love that paint job.
Man. I guess I’m old. Give me suspension and distance comfort. Bobbers look cool and that’s the absolute end of the allure for me.
Saving the best for last, love it!
Great video. I chuckle when I see Indian bobbers with batwing fairing, stereos, and saddlebags.
Man, all that content on the Fat Bob was incredible. (Sarcasm indicator is on) Yam’s big swing toward Harleys all started with an off road Pan Am test ride. Hahaha.
I do like bobbers. Good vid.
I thought I'd see the Obese Robert as well...
Had a Triumph Bonneville Bobber Black for about 3 months before selling it. Thing was plenty fast and badass looking (definitely needed straight pipes and a windscreen), but I found myself constantly riding the FZ-07 instead due to better handling. Dragging pegs, rough suspension, and tank slappers are not as fun as I thought they'd be.
same, had a bobber. still one of the best looking bikes but sold it after a few months. too rough, especially suspension wise. now have a bmw r1250r for twisty/sporty stuff (considering to swap that for a Triumph Speed Twin) and a Harley FatBoy for when my midlife crisis acts up again.
Glad to read your comment. Bonneville Bobber is high on my wish list, but I'm concerned how much riding I'd actually do on it. I think Yammie forgot to mention the most important part of a Bobber - Practically no rear suspension. Beautiful on a Freeway, backbreaking over a pothole.
@@tsubadaikhan6332 yeah well, I live in Belgium, in the so-called Flemish Ardennes. Roads with potholes aplenty. My FatBoy doesn't do so well either there. One reason I got the BMW, very good suspension. The BMW GS (I have a roadster) is the best sold bike for a reason here.
Funny, I’ve had mine for 6 months or so now and I love it! That’s what makes a horse race. Go to your dealership and ride one 👍🏻
Why don't you just change the suspension instead of bike?
I’m proud of my both bobbers. Triumph Bonneville Bobber & Indian Scout Bobber. 🤘🏼
HD Nightster '07 and later Iron 883 (& 1200) are the bikes who started this modern bober trend 15 years ago. And they both have been most succesful in terms of sales. Quite strange that they are not featured on this video despite not having "bober name attached". Even mentioned Honda Rebel (and strangely absent Yamaha Bolt) style-wise are basically HD Iron rip-off.
Love the scout bobber
I can’t help but stop and stare when I see one
One day I will own one for myself
I’d say the shadow phantom is more of a bobber than the rebel
I drive a customized Suzuki vs700... ppl often call it a chopper, but in reality it is a stripped down bopper with apehangers... I like the low compact look with the bars raised up like horns on a goat! lol
Nerd point: Guzzi's V9 Bobber has been putting out 64 bhp since 2021, still not a rocket ship but a useful bump in power over the earlier bikes
Great overview!
As an aspiring rider, nakeds and bobbers are catching my love for exposed innards 😂. I think the 32 yr old in me is looking at the bobber instead of a regular cruiser because I still need to maintain my sense of bad ass-ness mentally. Top3: Indian scout bobber 60, Honda rebel 500/1100, maybe triumph bonneville.
What?! No mention of the TRIUMPH Bonneville Bobber in the introduction??? 🤣🤣🤣
In all seriousness that would be the bobber I'd choose, don't know why they just look oh so good...I'd sacrilegiously want a 2-up seat option though!!!
Orange county NY not Cali. I live like 20 mins from where the OC Choppers shop was and had had lunch there a bunch.
You had me a Dewey decibels😂😂😂
Anyone else remember the old series "Great biker build-off"? Or "World Biker Build-off"? Billy Lane vs Indian Larry was awesome.
OCC is in Newburgh NY. Thought you might want to know
Ahhhh arabesque no.2, very classy tune selection yams😂
Thank you for this video because Ive been waiting for this one from you but dude do more Touareg/dirt shit
Ha ha! Makes the same H.P. as a modern sportster! I added 20 hp to my nightster w/ pipes, power commander computer, dyna tuned...now I still putt around in 4th gear! 😆
@6:00 did Yam say “Boblers”? Or is that just me?
He did.... I'll let him have it though.
Triumph! Without a shadow of doubt! 👌👏👏
nice presentation my guy
Those bob job jokes really got me
My partner had an Indian Bobber (2019). While it was a fun bike, it was not conducive to long rides that we gravitate towards. Is telling that Indian sells a "comfort" seat as well as rear shocks upgrade.
The Triumph and Indian were the 2 nicest. Tough choice if you had to pick one.
I’m glad I passed on the Triumph bobber and went with the Bonneville T120. At 6’3” 200 that monoshock was was a no-go for me.
If you guys want a bobber just go to Blue collar bobbers and pick one of the bikes that they have kits for. I suggest the V Star or the Vulcan 900
@2:22 “bettew handling”
I love the triumph bobber... I'm a bikeless bro but if i had the cash the triumph would be my go to second bike (fitst bike would be something old and abuseable)...
Cut the tail of my Vulcan 500, put better rear tire, a shorter rear fender, single seater.
The best thing I've ever done with my own hands.
the dance at the end got me.
Dammit Yammie... I'm gonna watch this coz I watch all of your vids. But please don't crap all over my dream of getting a bobber as my first bike :( ....to be continued...
A few minutes later...
Phew. Thanks Yammie. That was nice. :)
Get the bobber. Take what this kid says about them with a grain of salt, after all he thought Orange County Choppers was literally based in Orange County California 🙄
YEAH. I want a Bobber - with the footpegs in the RIGHT PLACE, not way out the front, so I feel like I'm trying to stand up, when I brake hard. Just put them by the swing-arm pivot, like every other normal bike!
The Bonneville and Guzzi look pretty nice.
A cruiser with small or no fenders, low height, loud dual exhaust, and either drag bars or ape hangers is a bobber.
There are so many styles of strange vehicles out there, but no "cruiser" dirt bikes designed to ride through wildernis while feeling like hanging out on a sofa, even though this is one of the most relaxing things you can do on a lazy summer day.
I AM GETTING A BOBBER TOMORROW AND MY NICK NAME HAS BEEN BOB JOB FOR OVER 10 YEARS AND NOBODY KNEW! INSANE!
At last, a Guzzi gets a mention on YN🥳..even if it is the one I’ll never own. 🤷♂️( I’m holding out for the Mandello)🤞
Revolution performance makes a big bore kit for the Scout AND scout sixty as they share the same bottom end. They punch it out to 79" and over 100Hp at the rear wheel. This actually makes the scout sixty the best value on the market.
I have the Honda Rebel 500 SE. Best beginner bike!
Orange County California? Not seen the show I'm guessing? 🤘😵
Paul and Paul Jr. weren't in Orange Co. California when they had their original reality show together....It was somewhere on the East Coast.
Orange County, CA...lol.
Guess Papa never actually watched the show.
OCC is from Orange County NY, not CA. Not that I can hold it against "Yous guys" as I found the show pretty unwatchable myself.
Orange county California??? 🤔. Come on man
Keep getting told Triumph Scrambler 900 isn't a great beginner bike, my heart is set on this bike and after watching your video on the 2020 scrambler I feel confident that I can ride it safely, any chance you'll do a 2022 or 2023 Scrambler review?
Yammie best motorcycles 🏍 channel .
Yammie I just got done with the msf course and for a first bike I want a turbo busa 🥰💪🏿
🚀
Surprised no mention of the Yamaha Bolt.
They're from Orange County, NY, not CA.
65hp now for the Guzzi. Love the vid's
Orange county NY, Yammie...
FWIW (nothing) American Chopper/Orange County Choppers was on Orange County, NY.
The whole practice of shaving weight, upgrading performance parts, eliminate anything unnecessary is alive and well in true street fighter builds. Not factory shit or fat rresr tire stretched bikes but true fighters. It's been going on in Europe for decades, had a big breakout here in the states in early 2000 with shows magazines and buildoff comps.
Built a couple fighters and regular bobbers, worse thing is with or without a fender you will have gravel butt !! Lol
I stopped watching when you got Orange County NY mixed up for “Orange Co. CA.
3:18 Leather jacket for safety, loafers for cool.
The Bonneville Bobber is hands down the best looking, best handling factory Bob, unfortunately can't be your only bike. It's a head turner nonetheless
Curious as to say why can’t be your only bike? I’m about to trade in my 09 CBR 1000 for an 18 custom triumph bobber the CBR 1000 as well as it is it’s a race bike so it’s not that practical for cruising and around town usage in long distance riding
Real bobbers had a bob job. Loved my WLA Bobber from 1947, but now I want to Bob an XV1600 next!
My brother just got an Indian scout. He loooooves it.
Orange county choppers is in Newburgh, NY
Orange County California 😄 u said it on purpose yammie!
Thank you for the pube ad and saying the should be banned word "bob job" while I had my grandma over next to me lol 💀
I think the Bolt is among the better looking bikes done bobber style.
I received an incredible bobber last night.
