@@oddperson8427 I'm still waiting for Yammie to repent and make a video about why the Yamaha WR250R is the best bike of all time. I'm literally holding my breath. My death is on your hands Yammie!
The reason I prefer cruisers is, I'm old and fat. I don't need to pull dank nooners or drag my pegs on the ground.. all I desire anymore is the wind in all three of my hairs and the bugs in my four teeth. Sport bikes are great and all.. and on short trips they're fun and flickable. But, on a long weekend ride. You just can't beat a two wheeled lazyboy. Not to mention.. old fat man like me has no business striding a busa with his belly flopped atop the gas tank. And his hairy, un-manscapped plumbers crack winking at the car behind him. 🤣... I apologize for the picture you now have in your head.
All the points you’ve mentioned are valid. BUT, that’s why cruisers have a different clientele. People who want a cruiser they want a cruiser, they don’t want any of the sports bike functionality. You sound a sports bike lover, looking for the exact same qualities in a cruiser, never going to happen.
@@MrOscar5690 So... not beginner bikes are the best beginners bikes? I don't know, YT is proposing me this guy's video lately, for every good video there is a shit one like this.
He's probably being promoted by Yamaha or sum sports bike company so he talks shits... I unsubscribed to this clown I'd rather follow someone who appreciates variety
I'm not a cruiser guy but I definitely like a simple bike. Too much technological complexity makes for more systems that are prone to failure and a more difficult bike to repair and work on yourself. And unlike mechanical systems, electronic systems tend to fail instantaneously and without warning. Mechanical systems usually start to show signs and make strange noises long before they completely fail. This is the same reason I would never buy a Tesla.
While I agree with many of the points can we stop comparing Baggers/Cruisers to sports bikes? They are bought for different reasons by a complete different set of riders and/or for a different mindset and ride style. Both are great for their purpose but you are doing a disservice by the constant comparison to sports bikes. It's like comparing a Truck to a Sedan. Can you compare them? Of course, but you are essentially comparing the towing capability of an F-350 to that of a Civic.
It's why I compare a cruzer to a touring bike. ( Goldwing ,concours, venture every just about every brand made a good touring bike with that specific purpose at one point ( except Harley just slapped bigger bags and faring on an already heavy big bike ). The early 1800 goldwings are amazing. The 1500s are known to go hundreds of thousands of miles.
And just like in the car world the curiser (truck) out sells the car (sport bike) 3 to 1. You can't say a type of bike sucks if it has a real purpose. Again that is like saying a truck sucks because it can't handle or go as fast as a pony car. I can fill my saddle bags with all I need and do 1000 miles in 24hrs (iron butt). Sure you CAN do it on a sport, naked bike, or ADV but who will be more comfortable. ADV have come a long way but being so tall, and needing at least a semi off-road tire really hampers a true highway haul.
@@thisisthewolf9521 Cruisers definitely serve a purpose and have a clearly large market. Just because you can also cruise on a sport tour or an adventure bike doesn't mean that a cruiser bike no longer has a place. If we're still making the car comparisons it's like saying I can haul large items in an SUV as well, therefore trucks shouldn't exist. The bottom line is that it's a great thing that we have so many different options, because it keeps the companies producing the bikes innovative and competitive
Cruiser: For comfort and 'cruising' distances whilst relaxing to that mighty rumble of the engine Sport: For ripping dank whoolies and carving up a track trying to break the sound barrier Minibikes: For short distance rides that makes you feel like a kid Dirt: For offroad adventures and motocross tracks whilst everyone thinks a lawnmower just whoolied passed them All others: *insert here* I think all styles have their ups and downs, but we are all bikers at heart and shouldn't be divided by what you are riding. This is just my opinion for why I want a motorcycle of every style despite all the 'negatives' of each!
He's just making content. He's just parroting the same thing every other sport bike rider says that basically isn't applicable to anyone over the age of 29. But gotta get those views.
@@AdoreYouInAshXI I’m triggered by what exactly? I don’t ride a Cruiser and never will. He clearly didn’t watch the video cause dude clearly talked about the purpose of a cruiser.
@savannah7075 lmao look how right I was. I said this 2 months ago and I've been saying it for years and now look, no one can deny it. HD is getting flayed in the press for it. Why does this truth make you upset?
cruiser bro here, it’s a different lifestyle homie. Sport bikes are cool and fast and all but there is something different about the rumble of a cruiser and the comfort for long rides. Not to mention building and working on bobbers or choppers is a hobby for a lot of guys and the custom cruiser scene is real lol. there are affordable cruiser options out there and because they haven’t changed much and an older bike that was well kept can be an awesome option who wants to get a cheap starter bike. It is a different life but it’s more of my style and that’s okay. still got respect for anybody on 2 wheels tho and wave at everybody besides scooters lol.
I got my Harley Dyna for $3500. The fastest I wanna go is maybe 80 and I can get there no problem. I LOVE that bike and since I got it so cheap, I have money to make it Mine now. I can’t wait. I wouldn’t buy a 1970 Challenger to race the Indie 500.
I ride a Breakout 114 with a Wood Knight Prowler 22x cam, heavy breather air cleaner, paired with Vance and Hines short shots and a good tune. All of that is good for 110hp with over 120ft/lbs of torque. I've got the best of both worlds. I can easily ride over 100 miles for lunch without hurting.
I don’t think that was his point here. He points out u get much more for the money choosing naked/sport vs cruisers. He’s pointing out hp yes but it used as an example. I still want a cruiser but I get his point. If u are on a budget u will get more bike not choosing a cruiser
Number 1 is so very true. I bought my Sportster seven years ago from a dealership, put 45,000 miles on it, and had a low speed tip over thinking I put my kickstand down but didn’t. I needed to replace my handlebar, so I went into the same dealer. I’ve been looking at the Low Rider S for a couple years now, with no intention to buy it because of number 4 at $28,000 and some change walk out price. Long story short they encourage me to just ride it after telling them I have no intention of buying one. They told me I should just ride it in case I come up on $28k I want to burn in the next couple of years. After my ride, they wanted to negotiate even though I told them I had no intention of buying. The general sales manager of the dealer then told me “hop back on your 2009 Iron and ride it hard and long and remember that your bike is not the Low Rider S and remember what you’re missing out on”. In one statement, that guy took me from a fan of Harley Davidson, to never going to buy another one in my life.
Sounds like a shitty dealership. I understand your animosity toward the brand due to the sales techniques the dealership employed. I was in car sales for a long time and it seems like a lot of Harley dealerships are being forced to adopt the annoying techniques used in the auto industry ever since they went away from the mom and pop style dealerships. I still love Harleys but I doubt I’ll ever buy another one from a dealership unless they stop requiring their stores to use high pressure sales techniques. That’s why I got out of the car business, I don’t like to pressure a potential buyer into making such a big financial decision before they’re ready. If the features and benefits of the product when properly presented don’t convince them to pull the trigger then browbeating them and hounding them will just drive them away. Just as it did in your case.
Couldn't agree more. If you truly love motorcycles you can appreciate all of them. My dream garage would have a homologation race bike, heritage springer, old school chopper, and a naked bike.
This guys only argument is that Cruisers aren't sportbikes basically... Guess what, not everyone wants to put on a tight leather onesie and lay on a crotch rocket...
As a cruiser owner, there were no lies detected, however, you're coming it from a perspective of a stunt-loving squid, not a general one. No cruiser rider wants to lean hard, jump curves or do wheelies, they want to take it slow and enjoy the road, and i think they're the perfect comfy bikes for that
I never understood why everyone complains about cruisers being heavy. When your riding you dont feel the weight of it, n even when its between your legs n your at a light.
@@Niagara716exactly, you arent dropping the bike you arent feeling the weight! now if you do drop the bike youd better be prepared to handle that weight. i never once allowed my bike to drop when i took my certificate course with harley davidson. i made it a point to respect the bike and planted my foot and kept the sucker up right at all costs. wasnt more than 460lbs with fuel and all
I love my Indian scout. I was riding yesterday I had 3 sport bike riders not wave and one cruiser not wave with a sour look lol. I also had a sport bike guy pull up to me and admire my bike. Ride what you love treat people with respect and forget about the assholes. Time to go for a ride no wind an the sun is out :D
you love your POLARIS. Its a great motorcycle . But its not an Indian. They went out of business in 1953. What your riding has zero connection to Indian. Nobody from Hendee Manufacturing is even alive. The wig wam is long gong. Like I said that POLARIS is a GREAT motorcycle . But its a Indian in name only. BSA had the rights way back when and they made a verticle twin with the Indian name. [not an Indian] Then in the 1970s another company had the name and made mini bikes of all things with the Indian name WTF right? Then Rey Sottelo in Gilroy California had the name. He built bikes with S&S evo motors. Still not an Indian and even an insult to the Indian purist. He sold it to a group of investors from Canada. They got sued by HD for using a HD style engine.A federal judge said they needed a proprietary motor and transmission. They did the trans first and rushed a so called power plus engine into production. That motor was GARBAGE. Finally Polaris gets the rights to the name and makes hi quality bike that is so good they cancel the entire Victory motorcycle Company. But its still not an Indian. My uncle has a 1949 chief. THATS AN INDIAN
@@kennethryberg dude its an amazing bike. Sonny Barger rides one these days . I have thrown a leg over my friends as well. But park it by an old timers actual Indian . LOL my uncle is all HELL NO.
@@chris135x 99% of the time I am just cruising, but I have a spot in a rural area with no houses that I will do a 20-120-55 if there is nothing else in sight. The feeling of being launched into hyperspace is a helluva drug. I keep it within 6-7 of the limit the rest of the time. Been a truck driver for 37 years and can't get too stupid.
Going 100+ MPH when all other traffic around you is going 45, just because you have 180 HP is NOT enjoying motorcycle riding. Your middle finger gets a lot of work-out when the problem is you. These riders always find a reason to stop and rest after about 50 or less miles. Your brain (or what's left of it) is always in the red zone. Survival zone. That is mentally exhausting and you can't stay that way for long before you either stop to rest or get stopped by a guardrail or tree. I've been riding for 67 years. 29 motorcycles, both dirt and road, and I still have all my bones in tact. If you enjoy two wheels ride like you want to do it for years.

That's the reason I bought my 48 special. It's a good ride and pretty fun, but it's mostly so my family can have something to either sell to help pay for shit or have as a reminder of me after I pass on. I love riding my honda too but it it wouldn't be able to pay the bills for a year if my family had to sell it when I die.
I think modernizing the cruiser could help save the motorcycling industry. A lot of people are scared away from riding because of that hooligan image and nature, which cruisers don't have. As usual Honda is leading the way making truly beginner friendly and modern cruisers that work well even if you don't want to find out what a dank nooner is. I hope other manufacturers jump in.
atschuälli, kawas vulcan S sucked me into motocycling, you get cruiser, but you also get a glimpse of sporty bikey funofun. hence, I switched to the H2 after the vulcan s, natural choice imho.
Idk what your definition of hooligan is, but Harley's are typically associated with biker gangs. Different type of hooligan, but certainly still a dangerous breed if it's a full patched 1%er.
Triumph Speed Twin 1200. Just under 100bhp, 216kg from memory, half decent suspension, good in town, reliable, no oil leaks, ride modes, sticky rubber and good lines. I guess it's not a cruiser, it is a roadster. In fact it's just a great bike if you are old and fat like me with too many injuries from my speed triple and ZXR days. The GPz1100A1 boys, like me are just getting old now :)
Yep, those wallets and most like them are terrible. I have a solid slim wallet but I've been through plenty of bad ones. I really like my trayvax wallets tied to a tiny clevis shackle on my belt loop. Bonus is about ten feet of paracord in the daisy chain and no paint scratching
Do not fucking buy any metal for your pocket okay? fullstop, unless its part of armor its going to get you killed. Those wallets are made out of metal and WILL go into your leg in a bad accident, If coins are shrapnel, then those are kitchen knives. Its actually kind of disappointing to see them advocate to a crow of people where the product could end up killing or maiming the user. Almost on par with saying DOT rating is good, which they havent done lol
Starter bike was a cruiser I inherited. Did multiple wet-night rides in my first week, then a long haul 12 hour cruise across the state with 2 slow spills. Literally any other bike would be uncomfortable, uninteresting, ran out of fuel, destroyed by hipbone and probably wouldn't motivate me to build muscle. The real skill comes from staying calm when it's all in your hands. The insurance tho; fk me I do need a 650

Cruisers have a different use. If you like speed and certain other thrills go for a sportsbike. Cruisers are badass, choppy beautiful sound. And comfortable for a nice long ride!
Yes but adv bikes like r1250gs or Ducati Multistrada 1260 are even more comfortable than a cruiser much faster if you need it and offers you top tech. besides styling, there is no reason to get a cruiser for utility purpose.
Koop its tons of fun but it’s a fun I enjoy. I love cruising down windy country/mtn roads with nothing to worry about. I’ve never found enjoyment from trying to hit a corner top speed but I’m not saying those who do are wrong. I don’t think one type of bike is better than the other. Each type of bike is made for each type of rider that rides those bikes. It would suck if there was only one type of bike and we all had to ride that kinda bike right? So I just try to praise all bikers no matter what they are riding!
Ultimately it comes down to a difference in motorycling philosophy. The bond between a man and the simplest machine that gets you places feels special . We dont want to be the fastest, or carve the hardest. We just want to ride on two wheels and a rumbly engine thats as simple as possible, even at the cost of "performance". Also your argument should go both ways, yes most cruiser riders can't turn like the motocop. But frankly, most sportbike riders cant ride like Rossi.
ginger GIANT I didn’t remember specifying about about street glide? OP never even mentioned it. Not sure why you’re bringing it up. Yes it is simple. It’s a v twin with fairings and chrome. There’s no real engineering or anything that went into. Harley just slaps some crap on a basic chassis with shiny bits and prices the hell out of it. The CBR1000RR SP2 has ohlins dampers, adjustable shocks at the push of a button, adjustable throttle response, adjustable engine braking, adjustable traction control, adjustable wheelie control, ABS, titanium pieces, over 190hp from a hand built factory race engine that’s way smoother than a base CBR, actually engineering on swing arm geometry to allow side to side flex to keep the tire in contact when leaned over, big ass brakes, a GP quick shifter with auto blipped downshifts first clutchless shifting. It has all those features and probably some other ones and all that engineering and somehow costs less than your street glide ultra. Street glide has what? A wide seat, fairing and bags, a radio, and some abs with less than 100hp on a 500+ pound bike for $30,000. OG and don’t forget chrome, lots of chrome. Cause that’s totally an exotic material like titanium 😂
I didnt say an ultraglide or whatever other monstrosity harley is putting out these days is what I meant, in fact I can't really think of any modern examples of what I meant. But the notion still stands that simplicity is a quality to be valued in motorcycles and is found more-so in cruisers than sports bikes. Not that the engineering in sportsbikes isnt amazing, it's just not needed by most of us on the road, and having stuff you dont need while riding detracts from a certain experience.
@@wholelottamiata6976 there's no way I can justify the price of a Harley. Especially the simple models like the fat bob, or any other dyna models. I've never owned nor will I ever own a harley. Just due to the fact that I can't justify the price for one. Even a used one. I currently own a Yamaha Raider, and absolutely love it. I paid 8k for it and I definitely got what I paid for. And to answer your original question. The simple bikes are expensive because Harley can charge that much, and people are willing to pay out the ass for the Harley image. And in all honesty, comparing a high performance sport bike to a cruiser is a ridiculous thing to do. They serve different purposes in every aspect. It's like comparing muscle car to a McLaren. And I misspoke when I automatically inserted an ultra glide as an example for a "simple bike". My mistake
You see I don't prefer cruisers because they are cooler, or work better, it's just because being 6'2" it's pretty difficult to ride while hunched over like a frog 😂
Saying cruisers suck is like saying “pontoon boats suck - they are slow and heavy and underpowered and can’t turn for shit - you should really buy a jet ski with 250HP”. And then you ride around the lake and EVERY cabin has a pontoon out front. So you see a jet ski racing up and down the lake, and the guy gets bored AF and then it’s parked, and the gang spends the next 5 hours out on the pontoon. Sport bike vs cruiser. Same thing.
More like a sports car vs I wouldnt say luxury car or Cadillac because of touring. Maybe sports car vs truck? Idk. I take my Yamaha 550 out on trails and dirt roads. Probs wouldnt with an r1
My best bike, financially speaking, was an '85 500 Shadow, sold it for four times as much as I paid for it. I was stoney broke or would have kept it, rode with Harley guys at the time (mid 90s) and I thought it was funny that my clapped out 500 could leave them for dead, especially around town.
I love my VTX,, I've bought her New in 05 and Recently added a Batwing and couldn't imagine riding anything else,, its easy to maintain, basiclly bulletproof, and living here in Jersey,I've been rear ended and didn't even know I was hit.. And back in 05 I lived in York,PA and the guys that worked at the Harley Plant told me to buy a Honda.. Best advise I ever got
My favorite when I was riding a Sportster was a co-worker asking when I was going to get "a real bike", meanwhile in the several years that I knew him and worked with him he never got his working...
I just love the look. I wanted something that was good for learning, yet could get on the highway when the time came. I don’t ever think I’ll be ready or willing to do anything more then that.
I have a 1991 goldwing 1500 that i absolutely love! While i am a new rider I got the bike for a 100 bucks spent blood sweat and tears into it to get it running again and she is amazing for me. I don't expect the bike to rock like a sports bike, but as a contractor for construction I can ride this thing to work and depending on the job can hold the tools i need. Also i am not a big boy (175 5'11) have had the bike fall over and been able to pick it up, just got to lift properly.

My 2003 Honda VTX1800C was definitely a fun bike. Sure, it was big and heavy and wouldn't outperform a sport bike, but it was fast enough, comfortable, and reliable ... liquid cooling and shaft drive for the win!
I have found in my experience with riding and waving to other riders that sport bike riders are less likely to wave back than cruiser riders. Maybe that's because I ride a Harley. Maybe it's because the sport bike people need to hold on tighter because their bikes are to light. Not really sure. Just my observation.
Around here, they all seem to wave, I ride vtwin cruisers, and an R1, don't see much difference. I don't remember all the waving , riding in the 70s, but then again, well, the weed and acid may have clouded it a bit. 😆
Exactly, I don't understand the myth that Harley riders don't wave back... Maybe it's because I'm not in America, but the ratio is about 30% for sport, 90% Harley (of course there is always the case when it's not safe for the biker to wave back). Maybe it's because he's riding a sport bike, and maybe it's because he's in USA, or probably is Dunning-Krueger effect combined with confirmation bias.
The closest thing to a cruiser that I would ever get is a Goldwing or a K1600GT, and those bikes definitely offer much more punch and sport than any cruiser ever could.
I ride a cruiser (Indian Scout Rogue), and I wave at everyone on two (or even three) wheels. I don't care what kind of bike you ride. I think it's awesome you're out there having fun and (hopefully) being safe.
He's trying to compare apples with oranges. Cruisers are cruisers, choppers are choppers, sports are sports, and dirts are dirts, buy all four and don't compare. It's like comparing a jetski with a troller motor fishing boat, apples don't compare with oranges. Buy stuff you like and like stuff that you buy. As far as sucks, if you want something that sucks, purchase a wife.
I agree with most of the comments about cruisers. My last two were cruisers. A 2018 HD Soft Tail Slim in denim white. Fit and finish were mediocre and mine came without much of anything on it. It was underpowered and handled like a row boat. Got rid of it. Next was a different beast . A 2022 Triumph Rocket 3 GT (triple black limited edition). Now that bike is something. Whatever you’ve heard about it is probably true but for all of its positive attributes that beautiful machine is still a physically large and heavy bike. You just can’t get over it. So, I recently sold it for what I paid for it new with over 15,000 miles on it. I’m currently looking for something else and right now. I’m looking hard at a Yamaha MT 09 SP and it’s close competitors. I want something smaller, lighter, flickable, reliable, and fun. Fat old aunt Helen and her walker need not apply.
Honestly. Bla bla bla... who really cares? Dorks thats who. Technology is for the geeks. Real bikers only care about: does it start, stop and get me to my destination. The wind, looking badass and feeling good. My old Honda VTX is cheap, bulletproof and has never let me down 70 thousand Klicks.
I can tell you are a youngster. The style of riding you do is what you base your bike preference on. I have been riding for 50 years and would not ride a crotch rocket if you paid me. What "sucks" is a matter of personal preference and personal opinion. Enjoy your channel.
Every time this channel makes a video like this about cruisers I just laugh because nothing mentioned has anything to do with what make a cruiser appealing to begin with. No cruiser rider gets a cruiser for the performance. They are built for style and comfort, not speed. Your inability to understand that does not mean they suck. It simply means you don't understand what make a cruiser appealing to their target audience. It's like a harley guy saying Sport bikes suck because their spine torture ergonomics. No one by a sport bike because they are comfortable. Next up: Dirt Bikes Suck because they can't keep up on a paved race track with the Yamaha R1's. 😂
I would say it's just the style. Unless you think goldwings are cruisers I'd say there are more comfortable bikes out there. And if maneuverability is in any way part of comfort then adv is better. Did you actually watch the video BTW?? It's all in there
Best quote I heard is it’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast than ride a fast bike slow. If you have a liter bike that goes 200+MPH you can’t ride legally on the road, so unless your riding on the track all the time, it’s no good for the roads.
@@stlchucko how do you like it on the highway? i'm a large guy and ride a 300 standard/naked and it's not great at 70MPH. engine screaming, feel all the wind, very little room to speed up to overtake.

I'd rather drive a diesel truck with big tires and lifted up over a Ferrari. I'd take a Ferrari, sell it and then use a fraction of the $ to buy a diesel truck and then a mustang GT 500 and still have enough $ to buy a house and a new motorcycle. All of that by just selling the Ferrari.
I have to say, YES, I can do that on a road king because I took motorcycle training courses. But those skills were learned in the basic riding course. And it feels amazing to say I can do that.
Everyone should sell their SUV’s, Station wagons and sedans and go and buy a formula 1 racing car so they can feel really uncomfortable as they exceed the speed limit by insane proportions as the world whizzes by them in a blur. Have fun!

this all comes down to what people want, all bikes suck at things, and all bikes are great at things. there dosent always have to be a cost to performance rating, its what the person wants.
Im 57, been riding for 40 years, in good shape, not fat and have an 2021 s1000rr and a 2018 Harley road glide. Love them both. When not riding with the wife on her street glide, I’m hitting the mountain roads on my s1000 with my buddies. Best of both worlds. Yup, I have two money pits.
You do you. I had two metric cruisers that gave me nothing but problems I found a used Harley at a good price and have had zero no issues with it. This kids loves his Road King.
I have always agreed with everything in this video... until recently. My 40 year old back could no longer handle riding a sport bike, but I still couldn't see myself on a heavy ass slow cruiser. Sooooo, I bought a Ducati Xdiavel. Cruiser comfort, superbike power. Most amazing motorcycle I have ever ridden. Period.
Great bike! Nothing like it. Much lighter than the VMax (mentioned above) so feels better, handles much better with a 40 degree lean angle. Way way better. Best of both worlds. I got the XDiavel Dark.
I recently decided I wanna get a bike and have started immersing myself in them and now, through comments like yours, I get to see several new bikes I couldn't even have dreamed off. That thing looks insane. :D No matter what this video says tho, I'll definitely get a cruiser for my first bike, something laid back that won't beg me to kill myself on it. If I have a couple years of riding under my belt I might get something faster and more nimble, but until then.. chill ride it is. Especially since it would become my main way of getting around.
This video is kinda pointless. You don’t get a cruiser to go fast. The same way you don’t get a saloon car or a pickup truck to go fast. This is like comparing a 70s muscle car to a mclaren p1. I agree price is inflated but that’s because of the novelty that goes with buying one. I’m not saying it’s worth it (I don’t own a cruiser) but I don’t think this is a very useful comparison. Whoever buys a cruiser just wants a cruiser and obviously doesn’t care about anything else.
As someone who bought a cruiser for the main goal of cruising and being comfy (bike fits me perfectly) I agree. Granted I do often like to push it passed it's "cruising". But after doing u-turns on a cruiser (especially one with such a shitty friction zone) when I take my advanced course test here in Australia, doing it on a tiny 250 is going to be a breeze
you can tour on sportsbikes...I have a lot..and you'd meet lots of brits riding round europe doing just that But like any bike mod it to suit yourself... and anything on two wheels is Still better than four.
I always thought that cruisers, like hardlys, were full DISCO-BIKES. You know, like they rode back in the 1960s. Oh yeah, the other day a gal in a cage pulled out in front of me, I had to lay-her down. Yeah. Not enough time to brake, had to lay her down man! Stopped much faster!
My father recently got a rebel 500 and I've been borrowing it, surprising amount of torque, it flicks into corners easily, it's nice and light and it's great on fuel. Coming off of my vtx1300, it's a completely different beast and I've been having alot of fun on it. The rebel for me is the best of both worlds, cruiser seating and sport bike-like handling
I've got a cb500x & I can ride it on dirt, on highway, it's THE PERFECT Swiss Army knife of bikes, in my opinion! :P I've been trying to get my buddy I've known since gradeschool to pick up the 500 Rebel as well, we've already looked twice at them, I honestly think Honda's done a very smart thing building 4+ bikes out of the same engine but jussssst slightly altering things to change rider needs. I've ridden an 1100, 650, two 500's, two 250's, a 125 & a 50cc & I LOVE the CB500X over all bikes, power isn't everything!!!!

I complettely agree with you. And its os not what you are riding that matters is where you are going. I just love bikes period.
The thing is, a truck serves for something. You want to cruise, get a sport tour, or an adv
Cruiser: For comfort and 'cruising' distances whilst relaxing to that mighty rumble of the engine
Sport: For ripping dank whoolies and carving up a track trying to break the sound barrier
Minibikes: For short distance rides that makes you feel like a kid
Dirt: For offroad adventures and motocross tracks whilst everyone thinks a lawnmower just whoolied passed them
All others: *insert here*
I think all styles have their ups and downs, but we are all bikers at heart and shouldn't be divided by what you are riding. This is just my opinion for why I want a motorcycle of every style despite all the 'negatives' of each!
Hypernaked: Jack of all trades
@ My Sportster can wheelie.
Power cruiser: for burning everyone as soon as the green light goes on and taking a break every 100 km for refueling

You've successfully convinced me to get a cruiser...

Why are the “simple” bikes so damn expensive 😂
@@wholelottamiata6976 theres no way you can call an ultra glide "simple"
ginger GIANT I didn’t remember specifying about about street glide?
My mistake

My '82 Suzuki GS650G Sport Tourer was excellent!
My favorite when I was riding a Sportster was a co-worker asking when I was going to get "a real bike", meanwhile in the several years that I knew him and worked with him he never got his working...
Those bikes that "really need a lot of work and money" to get them running, must be the ones he mentioned.
But you will end up with one eventually. Maybe a V Rod or a Honda VTX. Now we're talkin.
Nope. Not going to happen.
im thinking about picking up a 02 vtx 1800, got a 07 m50 now and need more power

I just love the look. I wanted something that was good for learning, yet could get on the highway when the time came. I don’t ever think I’ll be ready or willing to do anything more then that.
I love crusiers and won’t change .
But my 750cc Honda shadow is an underpowered bus.
Had 40hp and weights almost 300kgs 🙄
I have a 1991 goldwing 1500 that i absolutely love! While i am a new rider I got the bike for a 100 bucks spent blood sweat and tears into it to get it running again and she is amazing for me. I don't expect the bike to rock like a sports bike, but as a contractor for construction I can ride this thing to work and depending on the job can hold the tools i need. Also i am not a big boy (175 5'11) have had the bike fall over and been able to pick it up, just got to lift properly.
Still riding my HD Iron bobber. Would never sell it.
Yammie I've been watching your vids for as long as i can remember and i leave in 20 minutes to go pickup my first bike. Thanks for everything you've taught me before I even had one wish me luck!!!!
Congrats!!!
Congrats bro. I just got mine a couple months ago.
Update!!! I did it! Riding on the road is an amazing feeling for sure!
@@kcmoassasin246 you did it a lot quicker than me. Took me several days just to learn the clutch and be able start out in 1st gear without stalling. Congrats.

I'd consider a Gold Wing a cruiser, definitely.
My 2003 Honda VTX1800C was definitely a fun bike. Sure, it was big and heavy and wouldn't outperform a sport bike, but it was fast enough, comfortable, and reliable ... liquid cooling and shaft drive for the win!
The only reason I carry a leather wallet is it saved my butt from road rash when I crashed // it was my 2003 Vulcan vn 750
Great bike to 👍
Had the same thing on my vulcan..lol still got that wallet too!
You wanna play with a motorcycle? Go to a circus.
the whole video i thought he was saying that cruisers weren’t a good starting vehicle but the end cleared that up
I have found in my experience with riding and waving to other riders that sport bike riders are less likely to wave back than cruiser riders.
Same
@Jim Shepard you don’t have many friends do you?
@Jim Shepard being polite isn’t being in a fanboy club. And I still have a hard time believing people like you.
Pretty easy to say cruisers suck when you don't own one. Sport bikes suck. I don't own one. See? That was easy!😎
😂
The closest thing to a cruiser that I would ever get is a Goldwing or a K1600GT, and those bikes definitely offer much more punch and sport than any cruiser ever could.
But Harleys look better.
Goldwing is tourer imho
The Vulcan S, it's a sports bike in a cruiser frame
@@craigbannister7826 lmao I own one it sucks.
Well, my Royal Enfield is absolute magic, and it is a damn cruiser!

Who would have thought there’d be trade offs depending on your riding style and associated motorcycle🙄
I love my sportbike, but my cruiser was so much more practical. Comfy and still plenty of everyday performance.
Your Trailer Park Boys reference gets an instant like. 😄👍

Nope. Harleys suck arsch.
Gatekeeping isn't the way forward, my dude.
I can tell you are a youngster. The style of riding you do is what you base your bike preference on. I have been riding for 50 years and would not ride a crotch rocket if you paid me. What "sucks" is a matter of personal preference and personal opinion.
Enjoy your channel.
I've been on the fence to sell my adventure bike for a harley lol
My first bike was a Suzuki GN 400. For a beginner bike a cruiser is a good choice but for long distance trips I now prefer my Africa Twin.
I’m a short, fat, middle aged man with low T - cruisers are perfect for me.
From couch to couch my fren.
What does "low T" mean?
It's all in there
He had a disclaimer in the video saying exactly what you just did.
Just ask the R1 driver how much he enjoyed that 500 mile cruise.
Did you even watch the video bro?
I love Harleys. But riding them can be boring. Thats why I go with scramblers and nakeds
Best quote I heard is it’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast than ride a fast bike slow. If you have a liter bike that goes 200+MPH you can’t ride legally on the road, so unless your riding on the track all the time, it’s no good for the roads.
As a Honda Rebel rider I'm feeling rather smug after watching this video 😊
Vulcan s same

Yammie is the kind of guy who sits in a Ferrari and screams why it’s superior to a pickup truck.
No, because he's comparing bikes in the same price range. You failed to understand the video.
Have fun!
i love when i got my scout i was told by other riders, thats not a real bike. maybe it will grow up to be a real one and get laughed at. jokes on you, im grinning ear to ear every time i ride. idc if im just out chillin on a bike smaller than you. at least im having fun and not having to waddle up at every stop light with 1000lb bike XD
European bro here
I mean i get the hype behind cruisers
but (logically speaking) isn't an adv/touring bike just better in any way?
apparently not unless it has 180 hp
Objectively an adventure bike is the best all-round bike.... i guess...
this all comes down to what people want, all bikes suck at things, and all bikes are great at things. there dosent always have to be a cost to performance rating, its what the person wants.
Eh, I might disagree with that. Just thinking about the some of the bikes that Cushmann made. I guess they were great at being not great at anything?
What are cruisers good at? They suck for cruising. Any sports tourer is infinitely superior.
Period.
meh. reminds me of my old vmax
Great bike! Nothing like it. Much lighter than the VMax (mentioned above) so feels better, handles much better with a 40 degree lean angle. Way way better. Best of both worlds. I got the XDiavel Dark.
It's an interesting style of bike coming from Ducati but it has serious power and I assume the handling is quite good.
I recently decided I wanna get a bike and have started immersing myself in them and now, through comments like yours, I get to see several new bikes I couldn't even have dreamed off. That thing looks insane. :D
No matter what this video says tho, I'll definitely get a cruiser for my first bike, something laid back that won't beg me to kill myself on it. If I have a couple years of riding under my belt I might get something faster and more nimble, but until then.. chill ride it is. Especially since it would become my main way of getting around.
looks disgusting to me bro
This video is kinda pointless. You don’t get a cruiser to go fast. The same way you don’t get a saloon car or a pickup truck to go fast. This is like comparing a 70s muscle car to a mclaren p1. I agree price is inflated but that’s because of the novelty that goes with buying one. I’m not saying it’s worth it (I don’t own a cruiser) but I don’t think this is a very useful comparison. Whoever buys a cruiser just wants a cruiser and obviously doesn’t care about anything else.
I have a cruiser. I leave the crotch rockets to the youth.
Hey man hop on your R1 and I’ll take my ultra classic and let’s ride to sturgis from Austin. Bet you can’t walk by the time you get there.

I've been trying to get my buddy I've known since gradeschool to pick up the 500 Rebel as well, we've already looked twice at them, I honestly think Honda's done a very smart thing building 4+ bikes out of the same engine but jussssst slightly altering things to change rider needs.
I've ridden an 1100, 650, two 500's, two 250's, a 125 & a 50cc & I LOVE the CB500X over all bikes, power isn't everything!!!!

That said, i currently just own superbikes but i do like to take it slow sometimes.
Violet Victoria I used to ride a cb500x and that thing didn’t like turning at speed, I liked the seating position better than the cruiser I’ve got right now, but somehow the cruiser handles better( I ride a Kawasaki Vulcan 650 btw) anyway my next bike is probably gonna be a naked bike, or an adventure bike because cruisers are uncomfortable for any longer riding.
