Get rid of the filibuster and pass the voting rights act!
Problem is, if the GOP retakes the senate, they’ll jam their own bills through their majority and it can’t be stopped or blocked.
I agree with message below, getting rid of filibuster would be greatly misused by GOp

I thought gerrymandering was illegal up until last year when the presidential election was in full swing. I find it utterly disgusting! And then I found out about voter suppression in Texas and Georgia, and became sick to my stomach!
How can these practices be legal?!

@@vieamie Depends on the judge type. District judge vs. Circuit judge vs. Supreme Court judge. In my state at least, District and/or Circuit judges are elected whereas Supreme Court judges are appointed after Congressional hearings.

2. Voting rights act
3. End the electoral college
4. Get dirty money out of politics
5. Supreme Court justices are up to 16 seats, and are elected by 8 different district
6. Term limits
2 of those are addressed by the For the People Act. PLEASE call your senators and tell them to support this. As you can guess support is along party lines 😩

@@victorbergman9169 The EC was made by Founding Fathers who didn't think the average citizen would know enough to vote. We have technology these days. We know what's going on. There is 0 excuse to keep the EC, it reduces voter turnout.
It doesn't matter that the Founding Fathers in the 1700s didn't want us to do things in a certain way. This is no longer the 1700s. This is the 21st century.

• Republic is defined as a state in which power is held by the people and their elected representatives. Is the US a republic? ✅
• Democracy is defined as a system of government by the people, typically through elected representatives. Is the US a democracy?
Well, looking through the criteria put forward by Google searches:
Do we have a system where we can choose and replace our government through elections? ✅
Do people actively participate in politics and civic life? ✅
Are our human rights protected? ✅
Is the law applied fairly to everyone? ✅
The answer to all of those is yes. Even though we see acts such as voter suppression and bribery taking place, that does not deter from the fact that our Constitution says that yes, we fulfill all of those criteria, and therefore, the U.S. IS a democracy AND a republic.
So, please, before reposting this stupid argument over and over, look at the argument you are presenting and ask yourself if you have affirmed this yourself, or if you heard it from somewhere else and just blindly took their word for granted.

The United States has decided to segregate the country. Part will remain as it is. The other part is for those Americans who demand they be able to live among no other races but their own.

I think it’s time to split the Democratic states or more liberal(like mine, PA) and conservative states up.
Eliminate ALL the strange and unnecessary in-direct voting arrangements and let every American directly choose his or her candidate. It will also eliminate the 6th of January and the electoral collage thing. And why do all these states need to create their own Law to cast a vote? And why register as a voter? I receive my ballot in the mail, and during my vote, my ID and vote-ballot are crossed out from a physical pre-printed list at my polling station. watertight.
They can't hurt one set of people without hurting the ones they want to vote for them. They will find that out . The people will prevail this injustice and will win
