      Not tricked. It's been done in the past in American history. It's called an alternate set of electors. If there are questions about the integrity of the election that happened in the 1960s happened in the1870s. The only thing different is a political response by the Democrat party

      I get tired of this because it sounds like the Trump base. Redemption, and opportunity to be humble and honest like this man is doing should be accepted.       I'm prepared to grant him grace on this. I was once a whistle-blower. It's not easy to do. I paid for my whistle-blow by losing my job. As a divorced parent, with no income from my ex and raising a child, it was not an easy decision. I made it anyway, which means I get to look in the mirror in the morning and feel good about myself. Had I chosen differently my path in life would have been easier, but my conscience would not be clean.

      I'm not a fan of most Republican policies at all (tho Democrats are also disappointing me strongly on war), but *at least,* when this all came up in the last election transfer of power, I'd give Pence that he: stood his ground when it mattered, said no, and followed legal constitutional protocol.
      Because goodness, if that administrative scheme had worked, it wouldn't have been a matter of who was prez or which party was in control for a few years, but whether the institutions of the country had any legitimacy in the most fundamental way....... and whether it could all be taken away by an administrative coup, at the whim of angry mobs or scheming leaders... and when gone once, it's over.
      I was truly scared at that time, that we were about to have an administrative coup, which could rapidly disintegrate our political systems, rippling into local governance, policing, etc... as people tried to repeat the process...
      Phew.

    This guy from Wisconsin saying he feared for him and his family, should be a sign to AG Merrick Garland . This went too far for too long. AG Merrick Garland's INACTION is inexcusable for 2 years to appoint Jack Smith. BS

      I agree 100%. Garland's cowardice has let Trump and Trumpism regain momentum, they are raising money and calling in favors from their appointees. Garland needs to be officially reprimanded, fired in disgrace and replaced with a real AG.

      Garland must be replaced when Biden starts his second term. He is too concerned with political appearances. An AG must have no fear. Someone like Letitia James or Fani Willis would be perfect for the job.

      Precisely. He speaks of having doubts about the legality of what he was seeing and being asked to do.
      Yet what did he do about those doubts?
      Did he seek counsel from someone independent?
      Did he think to inform the authorities whose job it was to monitor elections?
      No.
      When he should have acted he chose not to.
      And now that the walls are closing in around him he is looking for ways to absolve himself of the responsibility he had.

      He's not the only one. Just about every Republican member of Congress is afraid of Trump. That's the reason that he was impeached twice and was acquitted both times. Republican Senators literally feared for their lives and the lives of their families during the second impeachment (probably the first one as well). Mitt Romney discusses it in the new biography about him. We cannot have a president that leads by fear and intimidation.
