I get tired of this because it sounds like the Trump base. Redemption, and opportunity to be humble and honest like this man is doing should be accepted. I am a Republican, but am so embarrassed by so many Republican politicians and supporters who were ok with going along with this entire scam. How have we sunk so low that we will choose ideology over right and wrong? I wonder if America will ever right the ship.
I'm not a fan of most Republican policies at all (tho Democrats are also disappointing me strongly on war), but *at least,* when this all came up in the last election transfer of power, I'd give Pence that he: stood his ground when it mattered, said no, and followed legal constitutional protocol.

Republican Senators literally feared for their lives and the lives of their families during the second impeachment (probably the first one as well). Mitt Romney discusses it in the new biography about him. We cannot have a president that leads by fear and intimidation.
