Cloud's going about this the wrong way. If he REALLY wants to prevent Sephiroth from turning out like he is or just get back at him, he should introduce Young Sephiroth to Sora. Imagine the massive changes and effects he'd have on Young Sephy's life.
That Young Sephiroth eventually became Riku himself.
But it also led to the origins of Ansem the Dark,Xemnas,and Xehanort themselves.
I don't know if Sora could contain himself with two Riku

It really says a lot that young Sephiroth has symbolic white feathers falling to represent him, indicating that Sephiroth really used to be a good guy but then Shinra and Hojo screwed him over.
@@SwobyJ That...was never a retcon. Sephiroth was designed to be a "fallen hero" as he was a hero and a good person, but the discovery of his origin drove him to madness.
Just as Crisis Core expanded on Zack's role from just being that friend of Cloud and boyfriend of Aerith, it also gave some expansion on Sephiroth being a good person again.

(Especially the latter since, without going into specifics for those who want to remain spoiler-free, it is *disgustingly hypocritical* for the leaders to accuse Barret of being "too extreme" in disabling a mako reactor or two, given some of the things they do in BC.)

Aka regardless of how fucked up a person is later in life, they likely were either a chill person when young, had misguided beliefs or the standard anime trope that Clive from ff16 perfectly represents: a massive revenge vendetta against something specific.
Which just leads into the flavor I hate being used again, multiverse scenarios, namely if Sephy never learned the truth about his mother, aka shinra wasn’t a bunch of dumbasses to send him to nibelheim, he would of likely still been shinra’s ultimate soldier. But also the events that lead to alot of the other major plot beats would of not kicked off either, namely tifa and cloud and zack would of probably either end up as a terrorist or still in soldier questioning shinra’s bad decisions.
Plus side that could lead to some fun alternative story takes, but that’s just gacha game bait via costume telling more then likely.
Can I just say that young!Sephiroth going “Gosh, really?” when he learns he has *two friends* in the future is simultaneously adorable and heartbreaking. 🥺

@@KaosDeathLord not really, aside of the differences in the shapes of characters' features, the shading and line work is completely different; here it looks more comic book-ish with fat, dark lines and shadows.

@@SwobyJ Dunno, I mean.. its not enough to deter me from playing the game or anything but Sephiroth even compared to the other gray/silver haired anime boys was pretty standout. Bangs, Pauldrons, ludricously long sword. But having a short sword and silver hair? pretty normal. Shorter bangs? Pretty normal. If squeenix came out with a new game with a character that looked like this and called him Larry.. i'd never make any real mental connection that its supposed to be Sephiroth. That said-- they also dumb down some of his features. He doesn't really have cat eyes either.

I would like to see a real full accurate remake of FFVII with these models. Hope they consider this
Just have to hope it does well enough for them to release all the chapters, but badly enough that they then shut it down and release an offline version for Switch. Hopefully a full priced Switch release would be worth going back and adding all the missing content.

The original is VERY mod-able now. People have updated the game to hell and back to look amazing. The original is definitely the way to start....
I guess the 'remake' is ok too. Although it's more of a sequal expansion of the entire FF7 compulation that covers only half of disc one (opening arc) right now, of the original. The next part is coming out early next year, and we don't even know when the final part will be released. So if you want to see the complete story, play the original.

Ever Crisis works well as a franchise recap for someone that played the original game. It might work for someone that wants to know the most important stuff of the compilation in a faster way.

But Square Enix isn't the problem. The problem are the dumb masses. Square Enix just makes what the demand asks.
They literally made FF16 less expansive due to FF7 Rebirth development which will be a much more massive game than 16.
How does it make sense that a mainline FF game has less content than a spinoff title?
I hate the FF fanbase...They're all boomers or teen JRPG fans who want the same game over and over, and throw a tantrum when anything is changed.
No they didn't. SQEX is so desperate to suck YoshiP's dck they would have given him anything he asks. This is purely CBU3 trying to sell underbaked mediocrity as GoOD AKTUALLY. And because CBU3 spent 10yrs building up a cult of personality to worship them, they succeeded with XVI where XV failed - marketing a bad unfinished product as a good and finished. Don't blame CBU1 for CBU3's failure.
Stranger of DLC in a Nutshell would be very appreciated if you have some free time.
