That's because that's what happens in the game. Parts of the story are locked behind dlc and if u don't buy them then u never find out what happens in parts of the story
@@Flufferpup 1.It's cheap, but the fact that you need to buy IMPORTANT PARTS OF THE STORY in a 60$ game is really scummy.
2.By that logic, people can watch the entire game on youtube and save 60+$ in this mess and not just the DLC.
3.That's factually incorrect. Royal Edition has all the DLC released AT THE MOMENT, since they announced more episodes to come.
The game is decent, but these practices can't be ignored and shouldn't be treated as "player choice".

@Snatcher Claus not for me. I think the story, writing, cutscenes, pacing etc. are a complete mess, but damn those dungeons are mighty fine for some jrpg. I would say they are a lot better than the ass crawling stinkfest puzzles for 6 years old's we got in botw 120times.
And dat bro sad ending is still pretty sad, altho tabata is doing it for the 3rd or 4th time by now.
I haven't touched my copy and i got it day one.
I love Final Fantasy too much to even think about getting this game. :(
@@ryudjn6590 FFXV had a good ass story they kept it short and simple. It was about the bros tbh but the open world, the combat, the excellent writing etc was classic. I play alot of KH1 and 2 since it was made by the same people it's pretty much what you expected. I do agree there's flaws in the story like it being too short but i can't lie that this is the best ff in years.

@@AcroGrade you take away what FF was known for and swap it out for a badly rushed story, a broken combat system (tell me being able to revive in the game over screen and holding RB+X to win every fight isnt poorly thought out....please do) and deliver a half decent game that took 13 years to develop, sell the rest as DLC when it shouldve been in-game on day one, make ridiculous spin-offs instead of focusing on fixing the MAIN game, sell multiple editions that then include said DLC and then, onto of that, add more DLC that is desperately needed to explain the characters in the game for more money, then...and finally then, you run out of budget and interest in the game, so you sell the rest of the story as a novel.
isnt that hard to see why this flaming dump was hated severely by those not blinded by fanboyism or white knighting just because its Final Fantasy....
I didn't play the game and didn't know the story. So for me this video is canon.

@@lahilsany491 There's a crossover event with FF 14 that came out semi-recently where noctis wanders around with the character Y'jhimei.
the ffxiv collab is also hilarious bc on the ffxiv side of things noct has more chemistry with the warrior of light than lunafreya, *and* he barely mentions his best friends who were abandoned in a very dangerous situation when he teleported over
and it's still better written than ffxv itself
@@lahilsany491 Terra Battle 2, which did release but did so poorly they unreleased it less than a year later. The quest is still in the game, for some reason. It's actually a pretty fun quest though.

It's why everyone takes the good Iggy ending as the canon ending. Sometimes only a happy ending makes sense.
@@shadovvwolfie790 Having Noctis to die was foreshadowed very well in the game though. Even King Regis knew that he wouldn't see his son again back in Chapter 1 and he made it clear in his monologue at the end of the game. Noctis' death is actually pretty moving and well put. The happy ending makes a lot less sense. They did what exactly to make him live? FFXV has one of the best endings in the series already, we don't need more.
@@ori.g4mi I'm aware of how obvious it was going to happen. The base ending just feels less thought out to me. He has a fallout with his friends, sits in stasis for 10years and then he comes back and they are just ok with everything. Something about them not doing a solid patchup felt disturbing and off to me.
His death was by design, well played. Everything in the final segment felt empty. They don't say much about the past 10years and they haven't changed a bit. They act predictably but nothing they do is amazing. I agree his death makes more sense. It sucks you are supposed to play the online game to understand the whole 10yrs of darkness thing. Sorry I'm sloppy its like 2am. We should have gotten more out of the city. Afew chats of memories as kids was cool. The mission with your online character was horribly bland. I don't even remember anything other than taking pictures for some reason.
I feel Iggy's alternative ending had much more though and effort put into it. More happened, more character development and better placed tension than that empty run around town to a eventual final boss. the fight itself was filled with interesting things. What the ring does to those who arent kings, the deal, the fact that Arydn(sc) is strong but actually not as strong as we thought. I'd probably have to play it again to see your point. I'm just going on at this point sorry. imo the only notable things in the original ending is the very long campfire scene, moment before Noctis goes up the steps and when the guy in the truck tells you about the 10years of darkness.

Can I just take a moment to say I love that all of Noctis' naps in the car are the reasons for his crossover appearances. That got a chuckle out of me every time.
And it even manages to make sense from a narrative standpoint thanks to this latest FFXIV DLC update psyudo-confirming that there's a canonical bit of bleedover between Eos and other worlds/dimensions that Noct is especially susceptible to as the chosen king.
