enjoying these segments so far...also worth noting that the Primax 97 pro race fuel really does give a smooth transition when accelerating, esp when i need more power on the faster lane.
Interesting to see if you guys can bring on the X50 1.5 MPI version to see how the X70 fares against it.

This is amazing. Imo they should make a three stage test like Carwow. Sometimes standstill sprint and highway sprint have different result.

Would love to see the performance if the cars are brake boosted and shifted manually. Could see they shifted a bit early in automatic mode.

I owned a Proton X70 ckd and tested the X50 as well. The X50 turbo lag is quite serious because of its smaller displacement engine.

Great content! I see not much people talking about the primax 97 with pro race so I would like to add on some, other that responsive, it is also efficient, my full tank can last me almost a week..
Another thing I like about it is that other than more fuel efficiency, it is also lower carbon emissions, although not much people will consider or take note about it but I think it important as well to protect our earth

Proud owner of X70 CBU... Pretty expected results.. Been driving lighter TC Civic.. Felt the car more eager to move compared to this anak gajah.. But it is the most comfort cruiser on highway compared to other cars been driven priced below RM160k.. Even an Accord/ Camry cant beat this anak gajah comfortness..
Great. Dont think x70 is BMW. Many x70 drivers think their car par to bmw.
@@seminky5341 My family do own 3 series for few models and X1.. But in comparing to BMW 3 series e90 lci fl, f30 (2013) and even X1 f48 (2016), sadly this anak gajah performs better in terms of wind noise on hway and absorbs rough road surface/ potholes better than bee em vee.. But handling for sure the ultimate driving machines shine on this part..

I recalled seeing your video of malaysian SUVs drag race..X70 CKD (7-DCT) was one of the last and being left quite a distance by CX5 and CRV TC-P...but in this video here seems X50 dont gap so much with the X70...pretty interesting to know how X50 perform beside CX5/CRV 1.5TC... :D

Good video content, when people want to compare these 2 model I can now just share this video to them. Btw is both of the car fill with the same petrol as petrol will be one of the aspect that affect the performance of the car

X70 performs very good considering it’s size and weight however the X50 is a bit mehhh
I'm not sure if it's possible to try a 7.9 seconds 0-100. Best time i have tried test is almost 9 s

Would be interesting to see if they add in the X70 AWD variant in the race! The AWD probably can put down the torque and power better and mybe offset the weight disadvantage.
Awd would make the x70 heavier
I don't think AWD helps for X70, at least for straight line performance. AWD is only useful when your car has lots of power and have trouble putting down all of them to only two wheels. The X70 with front wheel drive only doesn't seem to have problems with traction, a sign that the two wheel drive works just fine.
In fact, an AWD system with added weight will most likely make the X70 slower.
itll be the opposite; itll further disbalance their weight classes, cuz having an awd variant would increase the weight of the x70

no it would not, for that puny 180hp AWD would only make the car slower, AWD will introduce more drivetrain losses and the car would be even heavier

As expected X70 will go 1st because more torque then X50 will start accelerate because X50 more power-to-weight ratio than X70.
Yes it should be ended like that. My X70 feels heavy and always tends to bog down. I couldn't afford to turn on the sport mode all the time!

X70 with 184hp and 300Nm torque guys. Compared to X50 with 150hp and 226Nm. Both 7 DCT. Both Turbocharged. Both FWD. Both Inline both DOHC. Maybe the kerb weight? Or just the tuning of how rpm reach max? Good drag as always dear good sirs.

I love how Proton claimed X50's century sprint in under 8 seconds yet tested was 10 seconds.

Official claimed 0-100 figures for bmw 330i and Merc C300 is 5.8s and 5.9s but autobuzz did it in 6.7s and 7.7s respectively.
So if you actually know something about cars, you wouldn’t question those numbers at the first place 😂 lol
Also, in another drag race video by autobuzz which involves A35,MINI and Type R. All 3 cars didn’t manage to hit their official 0-100km/h timing.

actual result = 7.2s

Civic TCP vs X50 TGDI please. We’ll see whether X50 7.9s 0-100 is really true against civic’s 8.2s 0-100.
I guess X50 will win because it more torque and the power-to-weight ratio (PWR) X50 also more than Civic. But, it will be the sengit one lah cuz the differentiate PWR between those car are slightly small.
I didn't realise the X70 changed gears at ard 5k rpm. Were the cars in Sport mode or just Comfort?
