I'm a x70 CBU user for 1year and my car did 20k of mileage, these are the problems arises 1. The steering always steer to the left from , what proton did was an alignment everytime I raise this issue, the problem still there. 2. My car gear change when I flaw the throttle very harsh and scary, this happens the 4th month when I brought the car for a long drive to Cameron. 3. 2nd hard gear change is from way down from genting it just drop very harshly from 6th to 4th suddenly then it ran smoothly. 4. 3rd hard gear change when it was on Adaptive Cruise Control from malacca when a car comes in front it suddenly dropped very harshly. 5. My car always wobbles/vibrate when the speed 50kmh -80kmh after that speed it rides smoothy. 6. My car always wobbles/vibrate when climb uphill 70kmh- 100kmh. This is even happens either I drive the car or its on Adaptive Cruise Control. 7. Already two time I address this issue to proton, proton said there is software update for CBU models which is latest software is 005 and my model was running on 000 software update. Proton didn't even notify us until my 3rd service, only when the problem arise they update the software. 8. Proton said they need to open my gearbox to check why it wobbles/vibrate. How sure this will be solved, my car is just 1 year old and I'm not confident with what they going to do. I just don't want another new problem arise from this issue. 9. I'm just not happy on how proton is handling this issue, is this how they solve issue, everytime I need to send the car for the whole day and they problem still there. 10.This is really not helpful, my time and my money to send the car and had to take grab to work. 11. Even my friends warn me to not buy x70 when it launch, I bought it on the confident that they might have improved and I would like to support proton. 12. To all x70 CBU owners kindly go to service center and update your TCU software. 13. Very seldom I use this car and it gives this kind of problems, my daily drive myvi is even better and I had no issues even though it has done 160k km. 14. I was even thinking of buying x50, after all this matter with x70 I have no confidence with next proton cars. 15. Hopefully UA-cam reviewers can help me on this matter to add in your reviews because before buying anything we always trust your reviews before buying new cars.
Proton is .. always a Proton. One of the reasons i cancalled my x50 booking few months back after hearing parts ordering need few months and some QC issues..
It is fun seeing all the hosts are having fun. Two elements need to be standardised: 1. Drivers skills. Best use the same driver for all the SUV as in Top Gear. 2. Fuels consumption reading in each SUV are differs, some update based on different range of KMs. To be fair, pump full at the starting point, pump full again at the end point. Check the liter used for that 80KM consumption. Rule of the thumb, no shaking of car during pumping, consider full once the pump auto-off by it self, the dept of pump nozzle must be the same during start and end points. In summary, good and fun review. Thumbs-up for everyone including the cameramen.
I use my XC90 as a family car, mostly to drive my daughter to school or to go outing during the weekends. To me, as a family car, safety features of SUVs are more important than speed.
This is an unfair showdown, and given their cost, it should be joined by X70's brother, Lynk & Co, and I think the outcome might be different. $20,000 vs $15,000 is not fair
agility test should be driven by same driver because every one has different driving styles which affects the results. tbh i would recommend bobby doing it for all the suvs. good drag race and fuel test but would be greater if you guys add rolling race with normal mode on and sport mode on. because we rarely start off from 0kph in highways. rolling race is more suitable to do
Hell no, Pug is space ship interior and exterior wise compare to even manny cars in mid premium segment let alone suv and don't forget that manny car brands now imitate Pugs double decker interior, I cockpit, flat bonnet with 45 angle nose and rear lights.

Should have a valid test. 1. Should test the cars individually by the same driver on the same track & driving pattern. 2. If you need to compare the car performance like this video, ensure to train the drive to perform a similar driving pattern, AND remember 3. Do not put cars close/near to each other (some car has a safety sensor to detect a safe distance to nearby / front vehicles, and if so, the car takes over to control the car no matter how far you press the acceleration pedal).
This was a very fun segment to watch. Loved the part where everyone had to do the stability and agility course where passengers looked pretty car sick at certain points haha! Yaye to CRV.
Cant't wait for this video. really depends on which spec autobuzz team choose for each car. If all are top of the range for each model my bet would be on Mazda CX-5 since it is 2.5 petrol turbo and that crazy 420nm torque dayumn. But regardless of performance figures my pick would still be Mazda CX-5 its so pretty inside and outside.

True but this is not a scientific experiment. Just take the results with a pinch of salt. Most importantly just enjoy the video. You can never go wrong with CX5, CRV, Xtrail. For bang of the buck, go for the X70. 3008 is an old model.

In theory yes but it's not possible to drive long distance for 5 cars. I'll take the results with a pinch of salt but, given there is some other factors deviating the results, you cant go wrong with Mazda or the CRV or Nissan. Go for X70 for the bang for your buck. 3008 was a wildcard given it's an older car.

Good,Bad & Ugly 1.Pricing wise, Proton take its spot by being the cheapest/affordable amongst the 5 cars. Most Malaysian would not think twice otherwise. 2.Power/Torque goes to Mazda CX-5 but that’s because it is using a 2.5L Turbo engine. Crazy!!! It sure is gonna take up a lot of fuel. That’s not wat Malaysian would want. It’s an SUV not a sports car. 3.Best Fuel economy goes to Nissan X-trail but that’s because it’s a Hybrid. Gain on fuel economy but loses on power. 4.Practicality goes to Honda CRV, very roomy, plenty amount of compartment,spacious in the cabin, comfortable for long distance driving. 5. Infotainment goes to Proton X70 for its `Hi Proton’ features. But it’s not gonna be for long as other car brands will offer it as standard features in the near future. 6.Peugeot 3008 beautiful aircraft like cockpit interior, Comfortable ride cruising along highways but bad in resale value, expensive in parts. Only true enthusiast would go for this SUV.
yes bro, i think if pricing was considered as one of the aspect among the SUVs, X70 will be ranked at top. Imagine top spec X70 allocated with the extra tenth of thousands for petrol consumption/roadtax/insurance :)
5 SUV, 3of them I tested ( x70,cx5,crv ) drag with 425 NM cx5 is really fun but bumpy and rear seat not comfortable compare to crv. X70 got more higher tech and safety features compared to the rest. But x70 banyak makan petrol 1L 6+km ( salesman told me).
X70 safety features are even lower than CRV or CX-5 2.5t… we had both 2019 CRV 1.5TC-P with Honda Sensing and 2021 CX-5 2.5t… X70 Lane Keep Assist only Warning… while Lane Keep Assist in the CRV and CX-5 2.5t comes with steering correction… CRV adaptive cruise ctrl even come with low speed follow… and both CRV and CX5 have apple carplay and android auto
I have CX-5 but In Indonesia the CX-5 is only 2.5 without turbo and FWD, why not put the turbo engine in Indonesian market? I really upset when I know that Malaysian market get the turbo variant.

Now look at the Facebook group, so many overheating and gearbox problems. Both not cheap to fix when there's no warranty left.

My friend's X70 gear box jerks all the time. Give us motion sickness. And it's so underpowered
its too heavy, the heaviest of them all, thats why handling will be an issues

True but this is not a scientific experiment. Just take the results with a pinch of salt. Most importantly just enjoy the video. You can never go wrong with CX5, CRV, Xtrail. For bang of the buck, go for the X70. 3008 is an old model.
may i ask why choose good year? is it good for msian climate? grip on sunny or rainy day? and noise if it compare to michelin ps4? which one is good for 2.0 cc sedan car. im currently looking a new tire but im in dilemma
should't agility be driven by just 1 driver to get a constant result? seems like agility part results will also be dependent on the driver...

In theory yes but it's not possible to drive long distance for 5 cars. I'll take the results with a pinch of salt but, given there is some other factors deviating the results, you cant go wrong with Mazda or the CRV or Nissan.
Go for X70 for the bang for your buck. 3008 was a wildcard given it's an older car.

Good,Bad & Ugly
1.Pricing wise, Proton take its spot by being the cheapest/affordable amongst the 5 cars. Most Malaysian would not think twice otherwise.
2.Power/Torque goes to Mazda CX-5 but that’s because it is using a 2.5L Turbo engine. Crazy!!! It sure is gonna take up a lot of fuel. That’s not wat Malaysian would want. It’s an SUV not a sports car.
3.Best Fuel economy goes to Nissan X-trail but that’s because it’s a Hybrid. Gain on fuel economy but loses on power.
4.Practicality goes to Honda CRV, very roomy, plenty amount of compartment,spacious in the cabin, comfortable for long distance driving.
5. Infotainment goes to Proton X70 for its `Hi Proton’ features. But it’s not gonna be for long as other car brands will offer it as standard features in the near future.
6.Peugeot 3008 beautiful aircraft like cockpit interior, Comfortable ride cruising along highways but bad in resale value, expensive in parts. Only true enthusiast would go for this SUV.
Evaluate SUV in these ways? SUV not for cornering and harsh drive. As long as power enough for overtaking. Comfort to drive. Look nice. That is!
I think consider all this test and compare to the price. Proton X70 is really a good bargain

Imagine top spec X70 allocated with the extra tenth of thousands for petrol consumption/roadtax/insurance :)

5 SUV, 3of them I tested ( x70,cx5,crv ) drag with 425 NM cx5 is really fun but bumpy and rear seat not comfortable compare to crv. X70 got more higher tech and safety features compared to the rest. But x70 banyak makan petrol 1L 6+km ( salesman told me).
X70 safety features are even lower than CRV or CX-5 2.5t… we had both 2019 CRV 1.5TC-P with Honda Sensing and 2021 CX-5 2.5t… X70 Lane Keep Assist only Warning… while Lane Keep Assist in the CRV and CX-5 2.5t comes with steering correction… CRV adaptive cruise ctrl even come with low speed follow… and both CRV and CX5 have apple carplay and android auto

I have CX-5 but In Indonesia the CX-5 is only 2.5 without turbo and FWD, why not put the turbo engine in Indonesian market? I really upset when I know that Malaysian market get the turbo variant.
