Well done video. Another factor to consider when choosing a shelter is the type of terrain you expect to encounter and how much space may or may not be available to set up your tent.
I have the DCF Cimarron with stove jack. The DCF is so light I use it for crazy space. I can almost stand up in it and I run the LBO nest. Smaller nest but I can run the stove with it. SO is an awesome Colorado company and the build quality is second to none.
I need an INNER TENT with a floor so I have purchased over several years 5 (he's, five) Tarptent models and still have three of them. They are also useable in a fly-only mode.
Comes down to being honest with yourself lol, I think most people are gonna camp with a cooler full of beer and entirely too much gear. Most hunters I know are still “truck camping” to some extent. Definite disclaimer that these however many man ratings are based on full on back country “roughin it”. I wish my redcliff was bigger, and the homies aren’t sleeping in my tent 😂 I just wanted wall tent comfort in something I could stow away in a Home Depot tote in my garage. Food for thought!
Does the Silex guard against wind pretty well even without the nest? I've never used a tarp style tent and I'm worried with just the tent and no nest wind would come in underneath is that not an issue?

It definitely comes down to what your doing with it, ive found the Cimarron to be my go to for just about everything

How about 4 person Tipi ? I feel that would have fit better in to this comparison then the Redcliff regarding size and weight or am I wrong ?
The 4 person tipi weighs a similar amount to the red cliff yet only yields room for 4 people, which is why we chose the red cliff in this comparison.

Can you run the nest and the stove in the guardian
you would probably burn a whole in it. The only nest I would run with a stove is a half nest like in the Cimarron
