I am pursuing my teaching certificate through an alternative teaching program. I was given notice of my first teaching position interview with less than 24 hours to prepare. This video was incredibly helpful as a crash course in lesson planning. Thank you so much!
I agree, you have to always keep the essential question in mind the whole time. When I'm planning I always stick to what the end goal is and what they have to demonstrate on the summative assessment. Every activity that is done is geared towards the end goal/essential question. We call the "practice" activities formative assessments.
Amanda, this video is excellent! I work with student-teachers at a university in California, and I will be sharing this video with them as a powerful resource. I hope you continue making these types of videos, great work!
HI Amanda Rose. Thank you for creating this video! I found it very helpful. I just started my own tutoring business and I have no idea how to create lesson plans. I am going to try this method and see how it works for me as I have a lecture to give tomorrow. Thank you very much for sharing your formula with me. Be blessed and stay safe!
Love your channel and SO glad I found it :) thank you for doing this! I am a high school teacher too and there aren't much high school teacher channels that are positive and informative 😊
Just came back to say wow this was absolutely amazing in helping me plan. I have one question though, how did you manage reteaching yourself to teach a topic? Reading a chapter ahead isn’t working for me.

Great video! I appreciate your approach to creating cohesive and connected lesson plans. It's essential for effective teaching. I'm curious, what strategies do you find most helpful in ensuring that all elements of the lesson plan are interconnected? Looking forward to your next video!
Hi everyone, I'm currently continuing my education to get certified as an art teacher. I'm currently a teacher's aide for high school special needs students. I've came to the realization that I want to be a teacher. I love art so I decided, why not a art teacher? With covid and everything going on I constantly see so many negative articles about how much teachers hate teaching because of all of the disrespect from the students and their parents. I'm getting cold feet and wanted to see some real answers about why teachers love the profession they're in.

Do you share your essential question at the beginning of the lesson for the students to keep in mind during your lesson?
Yes, absolutely. When we were in person, I kept it at the top of the board and would refer to it often.
are you essential questions thematic or evaluative questions or analytical with a focus on skill?
Very helpful could I ask some questions to you?
