DEAD SPRAY PAINT CANS- Empty them the EASY way!
Вставка

- Dead spray paint (rattle) cans is a common problem for people. They sit around awhile and lose their propellant and in most areas you can't toss or recycle them unless they are fully empty (which seems tough to do). Well, there is a way to easily, and passively, empty these dead and useless cans- while also saving what is left of the paint inside. This leftover paint (if collected in a GLASS (not plastic) jar) can then possibly be used for new art and graffiti projects. Derek "Deek" Diedricksen shows you a simple method to empty these suckers with minimal effort and mess.

Any paint tips- other methods? We'd love to hear from ya!
It’s funny that your video consists of the words dead and spray together, because back in 2018, the FBI dropped the creation of one of their most insane weapons, it was called dead spray… it was a titanium made from container with a hole in it with the button to release its spray, they did that to avoid using a cap for it as it could’ve leaked out tiny dribbles of it and 1 single drop if smelled is enough to get someone sick, even if it’s a drop of it.
They sprayed one of the nazis with it back in the adolf Hitler times and they instantly fainted, they were checked on in the hospital, but confirmed to be dead, without blood coming out of them.
Great information!!! Never realized this could be done!!! Stay safe Deek and family!!!
Hope it helps, and thanks!
Genius! Great tip, thanks brother 👍
"Sgt. Slaughter"- Yes!!!! Love it
Love that you took the time to share this tip! A lot of people may not care and just put them in the garbage. I am one of those who have been collecting them because, like you, I feel like their is still good paint in them and environmentally wth do we do with them!? I also I'm a little intimidated by the pressure and wasn't sure how to safely do this. So thanks a bunch! You know what I'll be doing next weekend! I'm a mature student in an art school here in Ontario Canada, so I'll be sure to share your video with the class!
Yeah, they can be a pain- you're not supposed to throw them out for a few reasons. One being that when they are set in the compacter on the truck, they almost "explode" when crushed.
"Sun's right in my eyes." Yeah, the brim's flipped up...
lol- winter sun is always REAL low- wouldn't matter either way at all unless I'm staring down at the ground- which doesn't work so well for hosting videos. Thanks for checking it out
1:50 Thanks man ive got try this out..👍Great video
This is cool info Deek, good to know ... 💯☺️
Good to see you again. This is a much safer way to do it than what I do as I essentially drive a nail through the top and leave the nail in the hole to control the depressurization.
That way works, but it can be really messy
Dang, a lot of those cans are worth collecting
Question: Once the gas is gone, and the can is still upside down with pressure still on the nozzle, wouldn't the paint start to leak out of the nozzle tip?
It really doesn't for some reason- but I'd still do this outside and somewhere where IF it happened, you wouldn't get paint on things you didn't plan to.
it does not because theres a tube in it and thats why paint cans do not spray upside down
I’m curious about the scrap yard
You can use a valve to refill them via air compressor. I do it with wd40. Just dont go crazy with the psi and use a moisture filter/trap to avoid water going in the can and ruining the contents.
I'll have to seek out a fitting valve and look into it sometime- thanks
@@relaxshacksDOTcom i saw it here on chrisfix: ua-cam.com/video/InXaSfYqUeI/v-deo.html
I wish everyone wore their hat like this.
One fun way I haven't been able to do in a while stick two cans nozzle down into snow and shoot them with a BB gun. You can also tie them up with string in front of and over canvas and shoot them with a BB gun
I have an old video I have yet to edit, showing how I also use a BB gun on them (I have a makeshift range), and set painting canvas' next to them to catch the paint explosions. I then use "whatever happens" as backgrounds in the art I create and sell. "Gun Art".
@@relaxshacksDOTcom I just though about setting a can in a roller skate wheel or making a small lazy susan from a couple tin foil containers and marbles... I feel an experiment coming on! I totally dig your loose and free graffiti style, mine always feels constrained and planned
Good way to lose an eye or damage a window from ricochet. Also, liability if you injure a passerby. Of course, if you're doing this in the woods or a large backyard, it's probably OK.
3:02 Another use for the Diresta Icepick!!!!
Jimmy Diresta?
Don’t forget to save the marble inside the can !
I've never taken one out to be honest- I will next time!
It's made of quartz. Very hard marble to break. Interesting colors too.
The spray paints are all but gone on the store shelves.
Oh I got plenty! Yeah, they have been harder to find- esp the good/cool colors..... I have a bunch of crap cans/colors I don't need and I might list them on FB marketplace- clean em out AND make some beer/pizza loot while I'm at it
