Brilliant. I got my refrigerator kit yesterday and extracted my paint today from an any-way Rustoleum can. It wasn't quite as easy as you made it look. Lots more spitting than yours and lots of bubbles when I stirred the result but I will now brush on what was otherwise lost. Thank you.
You are a Genius! Epic video and a simple explanation with out any stress inducing foreign situations. Very feasible too and I find that priceless!! Tyfs. Be safe.
Thanks bud 👍🏼👍🏼 I really appreciate it. That contraption has already saved a lot of paint that would have ended up in the garbage. I try to keep all of videos legit. I don't add any drama or fake stuff.
Great hat! Go wings. I can’t wait to try this on some of the old cans, half full in the shop. Going to have to learn how to clean and maintain an air compressor spray gun.
Thanks bud!! Glad it was helpful. Paint guns are pretty easy to take care of. A lot of people are using the Harbor Freight guns for general purpose painting and having good luck with them 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you for this awesome video. Im painting my car with a color i like thats only sold in cans and i have just been piercing the can with a knife to get the paint out but takes to long thank you for this awesome tool
Great Vid. Now to figure out how to decant those small 100ml Tamiya cans used in model making. Looks like your clamp won't go down to that small of a size.
I can't say for sure if it'll work, but the needle valve and gasket will most likely work. You'd just have to modify the clamp for the smaller can. Give it a shot and see. Worst case scenario is you waste a few bucks, some time and an already broken spray can.
I'm not sure, honestly. I always used up what I took out. It might depend on the paint. Maybe test it out with something and try it in an air tight container, like a glass food jar. 👍🏼
@@HFG probably not, but I like the concept, and to see that it works as intended, is satisfying. Great video! Was looking for this exact solution the other day. I also ran across this: YouCan Refillable Spray Paint Can. Just do a search for it. I just bought one on Amazon. Interested to see how well it works. Would be a good compliment to your device...a place to put the paint. Thanks again!
Nice! I've seen those cans before. Pretty cool. I have one that uses a propellant cartridge for automotive paints but I don't use it very much. I hope this helps you out 👍🏼
Thanks... I'm fed up w/ crappy spray cans, now a days. It's only been the last 20-25 yrs the cans have been so bad. Used to have a can for several yrs & not have a problem w/ them.
I realize this is an older video. However, it is a real shame that we have to work around so many spray paint cans that you purchased and don't get what you paid for with clogged up cans. Should be a way to get your money back and not have to deal with such issues. However, you showed a good idea to recover some of what you bought. Years ago this never happened to any spray paint I bought. Now it is almost a given. I have more newly bought cans that simply won't spray than will spray correctly. Something has to change... Spray Paint isn't getting cheap. To the contrary...
I must be old school, I've got 3 of pressured glass paint sprayer. I've got old pinstripe paint glass with metal arm applicator that's old school. I had to walk out of pinstriping class, when instructor was teaching shop charge for entire can of paint but only use minimal amounts of paint. Charging over an over for same paint can! That didn't come across well with me?
The ones I have are all brass except for the rubber gasket on the outside. I can't say that they're all like that, but it's just a needle valve and super easy to take apart and look. They're also super cheap, so it's easy to test. One main component of carburetor cleaner is acetone, so it's safe for certain types of plastic.
@@HFG It was on automatic and I never had any problem through the years. Now I Switched to 1080 and was ok. Then, I put it back on Automatic and this time I could see clearly. Weird. Probably a glitch at the time I was watching it.
