Toothpick fixes Ninja Blender

- If you see a red Blinking light instead of Solid red, it is possible, like me, you put the handle on wrong and broke the safety mechanism.
This video could help. It is sort of a bypass to that. I'm still using the blender with the toothpick in it almost a year later by the way. Best of luck to you and happy blending (if this works that is...)! 😁
DISCLAIMER!! :
Not realizing this when I created the video, I need to mention:
When we put something in the way of the button we are BYPASSING the SECURITY feature in this blender and DANGEROUSly enough that means THE BLENDER CAN NOW BE TURNED ON WITHOUT THE LID ON, which could lead to the blades coming out of the blender which really scares me to think about. So pleeeaaase be safe with this fix! and remember to put the lid on all the way before using! And turn the blender Off before sticking any spoons or fingers in to stir or taste 😱 please!
The same exact thing happen to my blender and no one else had a video like this to explain what was going on! Thank you!
Same here.
I bought a Ninja blender from Facebook marketplace and put the blender in the exact same direction that you broke the blender jar, but luckily the blender jar didn’t break. But something worse happened - I had accused the person who sold the blender of cheating me, only to realize it was my mistake after seeing this video and I apologized like ten times to the person and asked for forgiveness. This video made the blender fine, but also made me realize my social prejudice and made me feel really shameful. Thanks so much for the video and walking us through the steps in a practical fashion.
😂😂😂😂
Racist
Good job for self-examining and self correction, its what the world needs more of
THANK YOU! ❤️
Our blender was a wedding gift and I used it less than 5 times before my husband got a hold of it and it stopped working. I tried everything to fix it, it sat in our closet for 3 years before I tried again... And the heavens opened up and sent me this video 😂 I fixed it, and finally have a working blender again!!
It’s nice to know that you started to blame everything on your husband immediately after the wedding. Hahaha
You are a genius!
You saved our Ninja from being confined to trash.Thank you !
Same thing happened to me and you just saved me the cost of a replacement!!! I wedged a piece of toothpick into the base as a "permanent" fix. THANK YOU for the idea!
Haha, happy to hear! =)
Also, you may already know this, but I have been worried that this fix could lead to someone accidently turning on the blender while the lid is off (kids/teens/us accidently) and just wanted to warn that without the lid on the blades may come loose which sounds really scary in my head and could injure someone so I needed to warn everyone. I'll write the company and see what they say. Be safe and Happy blending! 😁
Just used this video to fix my wife's blender. She just bought it, so she was really pissed about it, but now I'm her hero.
Probably gonna get some butt stuff tonight, so thanks for that mate.
You're a genius! My wife thought I broke her blender and that wasn't going to end well for me 😅...
Ah, glad you were able to get it fixed! ;D
This was awesome. I had the same issue and search all over for a solution. I figured it had to do with the trigger with the lid or the unite connection. This was quick and to the point. Thank you good sir!!!!
Omg why did I have to search so long for this vid. I thought I broke something but couldn’t figure it out
You sir saved me the purchase of a new Ninja. Mine was just partially broken so I put a tine from a plastic fork.
Smoothies for everyone!
Feb 2022: This still works! Had to customize my solution to rolled paper towel on the divot itself. Thank you so much!!!
You sir are a genius, this just fixed my ninja issue
Ah thank you, this saved me so much trouble going thru the warranty thing when my blender isn't even broken!
Thank you so much! I couldn't make the toothpick work but I shoved some foil into the bottom button and it stayed and now it works!! Every other site just says "tighten the lid". Duh I know how to work my blender lol
Thanks again!!
Thank you so much, was cooking this weekend and turned it on for the first time and had the flashing light. Definitely broke it the day before while struggling to lock it in place. You’re the man! 🙌🏻
You just saved me from having to purchase a new one. I can’t thank you enough xx.
You're a life saver, had the same issue with my blender and after watching your video it worked. Thank you so much.
Thanks, couldn't find this mentioned anywhere else. I couldn't get the toothpick to work and didn't want to buy another blender jar so we just ended up superglueing one of the lock notches down so it doesn't have that safety function anymore but we're a household of adults so I don't think it will be a problem.
Thank you so much for helping me with my blender issue. No one could ever bother to try it to figure out in my house but me . Of course without your help I couldn't do it myself.
🌟👏😉
Glad you were able to get it working! :D
Love this video, got to fix my neighbor ninja, thanks in a million.
Thanks dude. I didn’t know about the *no-handle-at-the-back* situation. That was the issue. You a real one
Oh my god! Thank you! This really helped!😄
This is amazing! I have been trying to fix mine for so long! Thank you!!!
Hey thanks! Put the handle in the back and the lid wouldn't lock in. Finally found your video. Thankfully the plastic piece wasn't broken and I just had to turn it around to get it to work. Thanks again!
Video was mad helpful. I ended up jimmying a piece into the blender part itself because I couldn’t figure out how to make it work by sticking something in the top piece. A piece came loose inside the handle so I cut it in half and used that lol. You can also try to cut an ink cartridge in half if you don’t have picks.
Was about to pull out the screws. But saw your video and put the toothpick as instructed and it worked. Thanks
Thanks you so much for your video. Hadn't used my Ninja in years. Tried to use it today and apparently I had broken that little hinge. Tired the toothpick trick and it works like a charm. It was on it's way out the door tomorrow. Loved the video. Thanks again
Omg I got my blender to work using this method thank you so much I almost bought a new blender
Great video. While not exactly the same issue I was able to follow the safety mechanism to determine my wife had the lid on wrong!!!
Thank you sir, you saved breakfast. Have a blessed day!
This video helped me determined what had happened to my blender. Thank you so much!!!
This amazingly worked for me! I haven’t used mine in a while, not sure why it stopped working? But thank you. Very helpful. 5 stars!
THANK YOU I WAS AT MY WITTSS END AND ABOUT TO THROW OUTT MY BLENDER. YOU SAVED ME
Thank you! I tried the toothpick hack and it worked. I would have never thought of that.
Appreciate this video!!!!!!! I couldn't get the toothpick to work. I subbed the tooth pick for the end of a plastic paint brush. Thanks for the information and inspiration!!
Ingenious! 😁
This helped me solve the problem. TYSM. I just pushed the handle on the lid down extra hard and it worked.
Thank you so much. I broke someone else's blender, I hope they don't notice the plastic piece
u saved my life rn. thanks so much
DUDE, YOU ROCK!!! You just saved me some money, thank you!!!
Thanks for the help! I ended up using a sewing needle and bent it in to permanently hold down the little button.
Thank you this solved my problem! Great video.
Thank you. This helped me fix my ninja food processor (has a similar safety function) and keep it out of the landfill. 😊
Dude this has helped a lot
Thank you so much for this video! We had the exact same problem and you saved our smoothie.
Unfortunately my problem is one of the 3 pins in the bipolar transistor has burned out (for some reason) ST 8550c. Wondering if I can bypass it or how to fix it : /
added tip...if you put the toothpick at the bottom of the pitcher you will have to change it every time. Jam it in the base and it won’t fall out
This is great advise!! Also, I may be worrying too much but please do not turn the blender on without the lid attached (this goes for anyone reading this later too!!). I am sure someone is going to do it, but please don't!!! It would be extremely dangerous, because the blade system in this blender is detachable and could come out if not secured down by the lid.
That's just what I did 😊😊😊
Omg thank u I just got 1 because I wanted to make blended snow ice and I kept wondering why it won’t work.. This video was helpful because Walmart was going to be giving me another 1.. THANK U AGAIN
worked beautifully!!!!! Will try a more permanent way to keep that little button permanently pushed down in place, maybe initially hold it down with tooth pick and carefully fill with either epoxy, etc.
Making Banana Ice smoothies with a dash of Oveltine right now, I yelled out to the kids...."Now THIS is why I watch the videos, that I watch on UA-cam, as I love learning how to build or fix things!!"
Thank you for this!!
Awesome trick and Thank you for making this video. 💜👍🏾👍🏾💯
Thank you so much for letting us know how a simple thing can help. Mine is working again.
Woohoo! 🙌
Bought a blender yesterday and it got stuck. Was about breaking it. Thanks for this video
Thanks for posting this video! I was able to help my son fix his!! We are so grateful!!
This just saved my life. Thanks
Same exact thing just happened to me! Thank you so much for this video. I got the blender as a gift and it didn't have the instruction manual so I just put it on the first way that felt natural. It's so stupid that it breaks when you do that. It took me like 10 minutes of struggling to be able to pry the thing off again and put it on the right way
lol, I remember that!I'm sorry, yeah it is a little counter-intuitive and frustrating for sure.
Thanks for the fix! Clutch!
you are a saint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everything i saw was saying, oh make sure the base is attached properly, oh make sure the arrows on the lid are the right way and boom youre good... but i was not good until i saw this video! mine cracked and wasnt applying the pressure it needed to and then ended up coming off all the way and now i know what the problem was and how to fix it. thank you!
thank you thank you, works like a charm
Funny
My lid was just on 1/4 turn off, your video helped me figure it out
Thank you it actually works!!
Awesome, Thank you!
Lol you’re a lifesaver I was about to throw mine away
You’re my hero! Thank you
Thanks 👍. It worked!
Good info homie, thanks for creating and sharing
Thank you so much. Great video.
Thank you, it worked!
Legend! My wife thinks I’m the best…..but really it was you😉 great video pal. Top man
HA That's alright my friend, you are the best, anything I can do to make that more apparent is the least I could do! ;)
@@i1Schmidty Legend 👍🏻
Rite on had same problem saved the blender so helpful so kewl 👍
OMG !! Thank you for this video. It worked for me.
Love it! Thanks
A million thank yous to you sir!
Aow wawww how smart you are , I get tired 😫 with mine and almost going to throw it away but last try was watching your amazing video and it worked 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏 thank you very much 😊 😀
Thanks man! I was about to throw mine away.
Glad I could help! :)
Almost did too🤦♀️
@@i1Schmidty hey i have a question. So when you put the piece of toothpick in, what happens when the mechanism shifts up and down inside the arm while it’s inserted? Would it slowly push it out or get stuck? I’m assuming this would happen since the square piece that is missing the plastic peg has to move up and down while the lid is opened /closed. Do you just put the toothpick in every time once you close lid? Sorry for long questions and thanks again for this awesome video.
@@starsky8280 Yeah, with this method it needs replacing every so often. Some, myself included, have fixed it in the base stand and it stays much better there! Just be careful because now the machine's safety mechanism is being bypassed and it can start without the lid on (or without the container on if we stuck it in the little button on the base!) Let me know if that made sense or if we need to elavorate. (:
Thank you for this video. Thank goodness I didn't break mine. I was doing the exact same thing and wondering why it was so hard to lock into place.
Thank you for this. You saved me a lot of time and money
Just want to say thank you. I was about ready to throw it out.
Excelente solución gracias
Wow thank you so much!
Lifesaver🙌🏻
Ty ty so much for this video. I did the exact same thing and could not figure out why it wasn't working
I just got a thrifted Ninja blender and im already so mad at the brand. Every replacement is stupidly expensive, and so hard to find. Also the lid and pitcher are stupidly over engineered. Mine came without a lid, so i was trying to keep the little button on the top permanently pressed, but this is so much better. Thank you! i was just abot to drive the stupid blender with my car out of frustration.
Ah! The blades do not stay in place without the lid! Do they? I have nightmares of that blade wheel flying out while the lid isn't secure! ...but yes, they need an easier (legit) fix for this for sure.
Thank you save me a blender 😆😅 your video was perfect it saved me time and money 😄
THANK YOU. I was going to buy a new set!
same problem happened. even their manual doesnt have this. they really should pay you!!!! thx a lot~
I was wondering if they sell that plastic part.
Thank you Soo much this was my same problem!!!!
You are a genius!!! Thankyou so much
Excellent explanation
Wow !! Mines is literally in the garbage about to take to the dumpster and i came across this video before I actually threw it away … whelp if this works ill be super happy
Did it help?
@@i1Schmidty IT DEFINITELY did work the first try , but then for some reason after the toothpick broke i couldnt get it to the same position. BUT i found another trick. Jam the tooth picks into the sides of the button that makes the blender come on. This will force it to stay down no matter what. & then just break of the excess. I imagine anything sticky will work too. Just jam it on the sides of the button
Thank you so much
Just came in here to say that I had the same problem but I just didn’t have my lid all the way down so it didn’t push the button down but this video helped me figure it out anyways
Thank you very much mine is new and this video show me how to fix it thanks
Nicely done my friend. Fixed mine
if you can find the piece of the part that broke off super glueing it back on is also effective
Thank you sir
Thank you 🙏
Thanks, bro, this was my exact problem.
I had the same issue, what I did is I drilled a very small hole in the broken piece that was still attached, and screwed on a small screw. This way you don't have to worry about the toothpick breaking off.
Did you drill the hole on the bottom? It’s so tiny i cant imagine this :(
Thanks mane you just helped me lol my stopped in the middle of cooking I almost lost it all but thanks for your video it working great lol I took the time to text this I don care if my food burn lol I appreciate you mane
