  • Just like the title says.
    However, you do this at your own risk. This is NOT recommended, will void your warranty, may cause injury or death, may cause a rift in the space-time continuum, open an intergalactic black hole, cause destruction the likes of which no one has seen before and likely bring about the end of the universe. Overall, this is a bad idea.
    Therefore, this is for educational purposes only.

    Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I’ve been trying to get a tutorial showing how to bypass the safety switch for a while, and all I get is how to assemble the major pieces. As a guy in his 50’s who has been working with many power instruments of death(depending on who you ask!) for many years, I think I know not to put my hand in the blender when it’s running. However, breaking a 30 cent plastic piece renders the equipment as an expensive piece of trash. Thank you again! Cheers

      Thanks for watching and taking time to leave a great comment!
      I had to do this out of necessity since the "tabs" on my individual size cup blenders would no longer activate the safety switch (like you said, piece of plastic breaks and renders the container/blender useless). I hate useless safety devices and our Nanny-State Overseers making everything "oh so safe" and damned near impossible to use sometimes. Just a little tech know-how and we can be back up-and-running like responsible adults. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now. Note: I'm glad you are in your 50s, because you actually know what a soapbox is :)
      Thanks again for watching! Peace!

    Thank you! My Ninja is a different model but it had the 3 safety switches nonetheless. They were buried a bit more so ended up connecting the wires leading to the switches. Would not have even attempted without this video. Took me about 2 hours start to finish.

    This was very helpfull! I do have the Ninja BL642 and managed to bypass the safety switch. I managed to secure the safety mechanism with just two tyraps. I think this is a bit more firm then using tape. Had to improvise since I didn't had any stuff for soldering. Now I can enjoy my smoothies again and saved a good amount of money.

    I had the same blinking power light using the single small blender. I was not able to turn the blender clockwise to hear the click. Called Ninja and was told that my blade was bad and was not making contact. Purchased that part. Screw it onto the cup and still have the same problem. Was going to jumper the switches as per video but started to play with contact switch on the left side of the circle where the blender will screw in. It is the same problem he had on his video that he could not get to work so he jumped the limit switches. I was able to use contact cleaner spray and WD 40 to loosen that contact switch. Now am able to turn the small blender and hear it click. It works fine and didn’t have to open up the blender to jump the limit switches.

      do you reckon that food/liquid is getting into the safety switch slots, and either gucking up the actuator arms? I presume after a ton of use, those cheap plastic switches could go bad internally.

    Thanks so much for this, exactly what I needed! I use my ninja daily for smoothies and hate that i have to stand there like a jackass with my thumb on the button the whole time, having my arm blasted by radiation. Now i can walk away and wash a few dishes. Just want to suggest another low effort approach using marettes to join the wires together because personally im skeptical of how long the tape will hold.
    Update: my pro 1500 is slightly different. I only had to bypass one switch (only saw one) and all buttons work now! Thanks for making another dangerous ninja!
    Correction: found switch #2, and on my model switch 1 has red wires, switch 2 has black. I terminated /disconnected the black wires completely, and joined the red wires. Now all the buttons are working except for that useless single serve button. Just thought I'd share in case it helps anyone else with my model (ninja professional 1500 BL771C)

    The plastic piece on the lid that releases the safety mechanism allowing it to power on broke off. We superglued it back on which worked for a while, but then it broke off again and disappeared. So glad I can disable the safety mechanism - hoping it will run even though the lid piece is gone. I want to keep the other 2 safeties intact if possible. I hope I can figure out which of the 3 is the one I need to disable. Thank you!

    Hi I purchased one of these at the thrift store and I am wondering how the single serve button works. I press it and nothing happens do I have to have the single serve cup or should it work with the big pitcher?

    • @HNXMedia
      @HNXMedia  2 роки тому +1

      The single serve only works if you have the "single serve cup." It has tabs around the rim that depress the safety switches that I bypass in this video. The large pitcher presses its own safety switches. If the entire blender is not working, it could be because the safety switches are not being pressed by the large pitcher. I updated this video and made this process a lot easier. That video is here: ua-cam.com/video/frInC-ICRLk/v-deo.html The number one reason these blenders stop working is because these "safety switches" fail. Understand that you do this hack at your own risk. Hope this helps. Stay safe. Peace.

    Can you help a single lady out? I have the Ninja professional 1500 watts blender. It will not work. So I took it apart and found that a plastic piece inside connected to the (left side) a locking base handle safety switch. So I removed it and thought it was good to go. Turned on. Now several weeks later, it's the same thing. How can I bypass the locking base switch?

    Are you sure it was the tabs that wore down? That doesn't make sense to me as there are four tabs, and even if one 'wore down' the others would still work. I have a similar issue at the moment. I can take a screwdriver and force an outer switch closed and it will blend, but it doesn't recognize the inner switch closure.
    So, I think that your problem is that the inner switch isn't closing at all. Then, if you tape it closed, it's still not going to make contact. But, you forced the outer switches closed, so it continually thinks it has the larger mixer on top. That's why the buttons for the larger mixer work. To get the inner one to work, I think you would need to cut the wires and solder them together.
    Additional note: I have a newer model, BL642, and if you were to close all of the switches as in the video, it also won't blend. I guess it knows that you are not supposed to be able to have inside and outside switches both closed as that's not possible with any attachments. If one of you switches is always open, that would still work. In my case, jimmying with the switches got them back to working OK.

    • @HNXMedia
      @HNXMedia  3 роки тому

      I think you are probably correct. At the time I just got tired of messing with this thing and taped them all closed. Wasn't hip to soldering, but (having it to do over) I would definitely use your idea. Yes, all I did here was force it to continually think it has the larger mixer on top. I cannot stand "over-engineered" items when it comes to alleged "safety," but I was raised in a different era. I still use this blender almost daily. Level 3 has failed at this point, so I am likely to open it up again and see what's wrong (then I might solder the wires). Thanks for the suggestions and adding to the discussion/knowledge base. Peace.

      I worked on a BL770 that wouldnt run the large jar. Pushing down the tab with screwdriver did nothing. When I got it open and checked the switches for continuity, I believe the small jar safety switch was stuck. --the one with black wires. so I cut the black wires. Then when I depressed the tabs for the large jar, the panel lit up correctly. So, maybe it thought there was a small jar, and this prevented operation of large jar.
      I didnt have to mess with the red wired switch for the large jar.

    • @beeftrash
      @beeftrash 2 роки тому

      I too have a BL642. What did you end up doing? I have mine currently open and I can see the wires running to each switch. Do I need to solder the wires? Strip and wire nut etc? I am running out of patience as both the base and the pitcher are fine it is just that little piece on the pitcher that is broken so it wont push in the safety tab..

    Question: The jar can be placed on the base in only 2 positions. Either position activates only one of the safety switches. What is activating the third safety switch???? Can you see what does it?
    The two safety switches that interact with the jar is to accomodate a right or left handed person. So that implies that bypassing just one of them should work. Two for the show.
    Suggestion: maybe cable ties can be used instead of electric tape.

    • @rodneykahn6927
      @rodneykahn6927 2 роки тому +1

      is the third switch for the single serve cup, maybe?
      As Mike Walden said below: actuating both inner+outer safety switch might not work on some models. as you should not have single serve+big jar at the same time.

    • @rodneykahn6927
      @rodneykahn6927 2 роки тому +1

      I see the actuator slide that might be depressing the third safety switch. Probably for the single serve cup.
      However, whether or not that is depressed, the single serve button works.
      But if you depress either of the large jar safety switches, that single serve button stops working.
      I haven't gotten the base apart yet. But it seems I should be able to get the single serve button working with the large jar and the small.

    • @rodneykahn6927
      @rodneykahn6927 2 роки тому +1

      I finally worked on a BL770. It seems the two safety tabs towards the front of the unit, both operate a single safety switch. smart.
      The other switch is operated by the small cup.
      My problem was that you couldnt use the large jar--just red blinking power light. Resistance meter checks of the switches seem to indicate a problem with the small cup switch, but not the large jar switch. I cut the wires for the small cup switch. This allowed operation of the large jar as desired: The 3 speed level buttons lit up. pulse button now works.
      I dont know if the small cup will work with the 3 speed+pulse buttons. but I think it might.
      Throw away the tamper-proof star screws. I think it will stay together with 2 fewer screws.

    3:59 - This is easy method, however if you ever want to use the safety switch again, it might not work effectively in the future due to being permanently bent after years staying in it's bent shape and for such dangerous high speed and high torque motor, I recommend to use the safety feature.

    And the point of doing this?

    • @HNXMedia
      @HNXMedia  5 років тому +6

      If the "tabs" on your single-serve blender cups wear down they will not "trigger" the safety mechanism and your blender will not work (or at least you will not be able to use your single-serve blender cup(s) anymore). Additionally, the "safety triggers" that the single-serve blender cups "click" into on the blender base itself can become worn over time and no longer work either. In any instance, this bypasses that "safety system" and allows your single-serve blender cups to work. Hopefully that answers the question. Peace.
