    This particular engine was on the first batch of manufactured engines, that's why you may see on the video some cosmetic defects.
    Also if you order one, from now on, it comes with a pull start so you don't have to crank it from the flywheel by hand as you see me on the video.
    Finally, I got my carburators to make the conversion on the v4.
    Stay tuned!

      Yeah, a hit and miss engine works by only using gas and electricity when it needs to, so when it slows down enough, the weights stop being flung outwards and press a lever that allows the combustion cycle to commence until it speeds back up.

    I can't be the only person who'd love to sit down with the builder and watch the entire construction process and everything being explained and what each part is and why it's there and does what it does.
    My brain really enjoys watching these engines running but it does love the build process because you get to see the real intricacies within the entire engine.
    Great video, the audio was a little on the low side but turning the volume up fixed it.
    Thanks for making these great videos.

      Well I guess an engine such as this is much less complex than psychology!

    • @HealthThroughNutrition
      @HealthThroughNutrition 4 роки тому +1

      Not at all, human psychology is the easiest thing in the world to learn.
      I'm sure you've heard the saying "know thy self" that's a very apt saying for understanding psychology.
      A saying I've come up with since studying psychology is "you can tell the quality of a nations people by the music that they keep"

    • @HealthThroughNutrition
      @HealthThroughNutrition 4 роки тому +2

      The main issue I personally have with teaching people psychology is the way it comes across when explaining it because it can seem a bit patronising and this is predominantly because nobody who wants to know it really wants to know it because of their own issues it forces them to face.
      I had to study it because I didn't have a choice if I'd not done so the family member I've helped change the life of wouldn't be with us today.
      Little over 5 years I've been studying it and I'm still in study today, I don't think my study into the subject will end but it really isn't complicated and what I do now is more to do with observations and analysis of individuals.
      I'd be happy to give you a lesson free of charge if you'd like but it's quite a bit of reading because I'll have to type it here for you.
      I will be fully explaining it on UA-cam starting in the New Year but I'll be explaining what no university or psychologist ever explains.
      If you would like a lesson do say and I'll provide you with the fundamentals.
      I'm not going to kidd you though and say it's fun or exciting because it really isn't it's pretty distressing.

      @@quadracycle4000 Having no throttle as such, these engines don't actually idle in the normal sense. Idling is running an engine at the lowest practical rpm. These things are all over the place because they are a primitive, obsolete design, that have been greatly superseded. Yup. The latchout mechanism will hold it about 95% open when the engine gets going fast enough. It's only held 95% open because the latchout mechanism needs to be able to release and this happens when the cam lobe nudges the follower while engine speed is below governed speed. Cam lobe picks the valve up off the latchout, arm pops out of the way, valve then closes.
      Much easier to see on larger engines but works fine here.
