Today on JD Cars we’re upgrading our Jeep Wrangler (JKU) overhead switch panel to the new Voswitch JK100 programmable switch panel & power control system! A few years ago, we installed the original Voswitch switch panel for the Jeep JK. That system worked phenomenally and never failed on me. Though, many aspects of the unit have been completely re-engineered for more strength, efficiency, and waterproof capability. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about the new JK100. I ordered the old version (it was on back-order) because I don't like the new, but cheap looking push-button switch panel. I like the old school hard button switch panel with the nice tactile 'click'. It just came in the other day. I was VERY surprised and happy that was shipped with the NEW water-proof control box for under the hood. Best of both worlds!!
No way!! I had no idea they were shipping the old version with the new waterproof box! Thank you for sharing. To be perfectly honest, I completely agree with you. The nice tactile click is very nice, and I found myself struggling a bit to turn this sucker on in the pitch black of the night. Might have to do the best of both worlds like you said
@@JDCarsChannel If you have your old switch panel, you could still make it work I think. The connectors don't match, but I think you could cut and splice.

@@JDCarsChannel Installed yesterday and working well. Easiest install ever. Now need more lights to fill up the empty buttons haha
They just sent me one to review, I love it so far! I ended up using to ball mount for the time being since I'm having some issues with my soft top and I didn't want to let it back in case I couldn't get it latched back.. after seeing this video and given the 2 options I had to choose from to review, this one seemed so much better, especially with the wire that goes in the cab!
I just purchased the new UV120 12 gang switch for my jk Love it I purchased a mictunning sent that Backwards crap back love this voswitch the strobe feature is nuts very well thought out very well built get one you won't be disappointed!!
Last year I got mine, it had the new waterproof control box and the 6 switches, I got my jeep upgraded and I was looking for the same setup no luck, it's unavailable. I had to order the newest one. I will be installing this weekend.

Do not ground your accessories through the ECU. It will likely be ok, but you run the risk of damaging the ECU or causing random glitches from the added heat and electrical current flowing through the ECU housing. It would so much better to ground them to the body. If you don't want them on the edge of the fender, then find another point nearby inside the engine compartment. I loved the video otherwise! Have you had any issues with the stickers on the switches yet? I'm curious how that works out long term.
Awesome Video. I was bummed because the original voswitch just sold out on Amazon. I saw this one come available and looked up your video which sold me. Thank you for taking the time. It also gave me the confidence to do it myself. I am ordering now and will get it tomorrow. Can't beat it.

I JUST bought the old version (the switch unit is better) a little more than a week ago and it shipped with the updated control box!! (see my comment above) Try Amazon again!
The power button in the middle is it a on/off for the back lighting and programming or do you have to press it every time before you can use all the other buttons

where do you connect the ground from the accessories?
good but UNANSWERED question - the switch box accepts the Hot lead but there is ?? to put the ground/neg lead from the item being added....this vid is as silent on this as the pitiful directions in the VOS UV100 PACKAGE

@@mjoet731 Truck/Car I'd agree but this is boat application. I finally put ring clips on each negative line, soldered them in place, and secured with shrink wrap before screwing them to a 3/8 post on the Neg post of the battery. Thanks for the suggestion - and a good one for vehicles. Just not for boat, esp an aluminum boat.
Any thoughts on how the mount might work elsewhere? I run the Teraflex AXIS Sun Visor system and have a bar that runs the entire width of my windshield, making an overhead mount pretty difficult to impossible. Just wondering if I could mount this elsewhere and still achieve the same custom look.
the switch panel can be taken out of the enclosure , then you can cut you lower dash and install the switch panel flush on the dash.
Great video, thanks! If I program a button to turn on automatically with the ignition (such as a camera), will it also turn off automatically when you turn off the Jeep? I’m afraid I might forget to turn it off, but I might also want to use it sometimes without the keyed accessory switch on.

Thank you! Happy to help. I like this new unit better in a couple ways: the slim control cable is easy to install, the unit is fully sealed & waterproof, and the programmable button functionality is pretty cool. However, the old fashioned toggle switches are easier to see in the daytime-- whereas the indicator light of the JK100 can be difficult to see in the sun if you have the top off.
Can a winch be wired using this panel?

Great details on your video. Very well explained. Question for you: Don't have a JEEP but have 2019 Tundra TRD Sport, I think this would work with the Tundra, not sure if the switches are made such that they are a custom fit for JEEP's - any suggestions. I was thinking of TRIGGER 6-Shooter system but saw your video and I like this better. Any help is appreciated. Thx.

@@JDCarsChannel I just ordered the jk100 as you have. The pics in the description show the digital plate is separate from the enclosure you used to mount it to the footmans loop. Was your digital plate part of your enclosure? If it is I’m screwed. But like I said the picture on Amazon shows them as being two different parts.
Forgot to mention it also comes with a couple of ram mounts to mount to a vector bar. Did yours come with that?

Do you recommend wiring your rgb halo drl to this or just run it directly to the fuse box as well?
Good question! We've always installed our RGB lights before installing the Voswitch (not on purpose, just the order in which they were installed). So we've yet to try hooking the RGB halos up to the Voswitch, but you certainly can-- that way you'll be able to toggle the halos on/off.

I bought a voswitch switch panel as well and I only have 3 strobe settings while every video I’ve seen have like 6 settings so I’m wondering if I installed something wrong

did you ever figure this out? i have the same thing. all i have is constant on, momentary, flash on/off slow, and constant strobe. no alternating strobe or anything else
