I stayed there with my kids. My sister's own 2 units. There's a shopping mall and movie theater at the lower area of the tower. We enjoyed the fresh breads and cakes at the bakery.
Thank you for choosing the country Philippines, you are very generous to share to people where you live. Most Filipinos love to go abroad, but you, you are proud of the place where you are staying. Thank you... You might boost the tourism in this country anyway.

So SM Light Residence (LR) is a mass market condo development as are most of SM properties such as Jazz and others. The units usually run 18-23sqm to 41sqm for a 2BR. Not considered luxury condo such as some Ayala developments in BGC/Rockwell/Makati. But nevertheless good for her and wonderful she is adapting to Manila.
@inqlusion9283 You bring up some good comparisons, but I still think SM Light Residence has its own charm and offers a level of luxury that many appreciate. The amenities, such as the pools, fitness center, and concierge service, enhance the living experience. It may not be as high-end as some Ayala developments, but it provides a comfortable and stylish environment that feels luxurious for many people. Everyone has different definitions of luxury, and this place certainly has its perks!
ah yeah my first 2 yrs here in Manila, I actually lived there...I liked it, it's very convenient specially with the mall and grocery next door. good location, close to BGC and Makati, though at times, they can be very strict about visitors, guess its for your own good. You should try the MRT, it can be very convient way to get around Manila.
@Omartboy68 Mabuhay! 😊 Thank you so much! I'm really enjoying my time here in the Philippines. Sending warm greetings all the way to Burlington, Ontario, Canada!
When I lived in the South East region of the U.S., I learned that cockroaches can come from the drainage system and enter your home through the sink. If I had a choice, I would prefer to have a dryer instead of a washing machine. I wouldn't mind hand washing my clothes. Hanging wet clothes in an enclosed tiny living space adds to the humidity. Thank you for sharing your experience.
@BB_usmc Roaches can definitely find their way in through unexpected places. I totally understand your preference for a dryer; it can make a big difference in a small living space, especially when it comes to humidity. But I would prefer both, not ready to handwash my clothing 😅 Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Awesome 😂 we decided against a condo, instead built a 3-story home on land that was given to us when we married, split in half, one side for my wife’s Mom & Dad & the other side for us. 2bd on each sides, 3 baths on each sides, kitchen on both sides etc. Loft above & Terrace on 2nd floor can hold about 30 people maximize. Terrace on front, maybe 10 maximum. Cost $65k in 2015. Todays value is X3 or more. Great investment. We keep making improvements & love our time here. 🎉
@alaskacpu That sounds like an incredible setup! Building your own home, especially with family nearby, is such a smart move. Plus, the way you’ve designed it with plenty of space and terraces sounds amazing for gatherings. What a fantastic investment, especially considering how much its value has grown! 🎉
Look at The Magnolia Residences condo which is also attached to Robinsons Magnolia Mall. It does not have the Cons that you have especially with clothes dryer after laundry, there are cages where you can hang your clothes in the top floor of the condo.
Hello! New subscriber here in California. I just stumbled on your Philippine vlog today. I watch a lot of Philippine vlogs around the country. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Philippines.👍🏼❤️
Yeah, the management should conduct a regular pest control check at least once a month to ensure a clean and comfortable experience for guests and tenants alike. I really think the city health government should take a look at this and try to address the issues and make it a requirement for owners renewing their business permit.🙂😋🇵🇭
@renatoarias9625 There have been regular checks and spraying in the building. Honestly, it’s not just this condo; I’ve noticed more cockroaches in the Philippines than anywhere else I’ve been: shopping malls, restaurants, museums, even metro! It's definitely something that needs to be addressed for everyone's comfort!
@@LoveLiveDiscover I agree, sadly but true. The government should definitely try to address this issue more particularly with the city's sanitation problem. I'm personally sorry for the inconvenience and hopefully you will still have a pleasant stay.

@rosalinafarol7036 I think it's all about perspective! Just having a concierge to open the door for you feels like a luxury. While it may not be the most luxurious place in Manila, it still offers a level of comfort and convenience that feels luxurious to me.
For 2 months, I guess I can handle as I would be out most of the time but I would rather stay near the beach or mountains because the city can be suffocating. It is convenient for sure.
@colleensantos718 I totally get that! There are definitely benefits to both. For me, the ideal setup would be spending half the year in a quiet beach town and the other half in a big city. That way, you don't get tired of either, and you can enjoy the best of both worlds!
Animal fat is good saturated fat. It's the poly unsaturated and mono unsaturated fats to a lesser degree that are worse. If it's not the processed oils, it's the abundance of salt and sugar. So much noise! I could never live with that. I live in a province that is a couple of hours, max, from Manila. It is peaceful, the odd rooster or dog, bu no continuous traffic noise. We own properties - 3 4-bed residential plus commercial property. We have a decent income and a quiet life. I enjoy my life in the 'sticks''. The reason we left HK was for peace and quiet, which we have, not to be assailed by the hassles of urban existence.
@jacksonj3082 agree, apartment is too tiny! Actually, for me, life in the Philippines is great, and there are definitely more pluses than minuses! In the video, the cons might take more time because I feel the need to explain them in detail, whereas the pros are more straightforward and clear. I focus on the good parts of life here-there's so much to enjoy, from the culture to the convenience, so the positives definitely outweigh the small inconveniences! :)
Nope. Not living a big city traffic life in New York Manila City. Built an oceanfront 3 bedroom 15 min from Cebu with malls and hospitals. Better for a 10yr old girl who has school daily. More friends and safer.

The location may be convenient, but the condo itself is depressing, the sofa and other furnishings look very uncomfortable, unstable and made of cheap materials.
How did u know it's cheap material, did u stay there? Show us your house also let's see and the world if ur house or accommodation is perfectly not depressing.
@@pinoyislander4400 If you can't determine simply by looking at them whether furnishings are well-made with good materials, it tells me you have not been exposed to much. One thing l learned about living in the Philippines and returning, the people can be lazy and they don't like to follow rules. Why the cockroach problem regarding trash, it's really annoying 🤦
@gmemo4449 It can be challenging to deal with trash management and pests. While many people are hardworking, there can be inconsistencies in how rules are followed. Hopefully, with time, things will improve!
@Akira29H I appreciate your suggestion, but everyone has different preferences when it comes to living arrangements! While Trump Tower might offer a different experience, I enjoy the community and amenities here at SM condo. It's all about finding what suits you best!
@strawberryshortcakemitchell BGC is definitely a great place, though it can get pricey! It has that modern vibe and a lot of nice amenities. And it is just 5 mines drive away so we can go there when we want :)
@marianeil6630 You’re right; it can be noisy! Pets aren't allowed in our building, so that helps a bit. It was loud in the common areas on the 8th floor with traffic and kids playing, but our apartment on the 26th floor was pretty quiet. We got lucky with our neighbors too-I never heard them! 😊
The hallmark of a low class building is when tenants hang their clothes outside. You should be happy they are at least trying to be middle class. The bugs and roaches says it all. One question I have: what "work" does your husband do that you earn so little to have to live like that? I think it is hilarious people need a work area but never seem to earn anything. Thank you for sharing. I now know where NOT to live.
@user-rd2em4zw1s there's really no need to be offensive. Luxury can mean different things to different people, and for some, the amenities and comfort here might feel luxurious. It's all about perspective!

Lol@ luxury. I just paid $500k for a 5th floor 2 bedroom unit at Mandani Bay, Mandaue, cebu city. The building is not even completed yet. Your place looks like a shoebox with poor aircon. Good luck
First of all, every tenant should be notified about the monthly alarm test and 2nd.....I would rather be annoyed once a month by the alarm because at least I know that it works and it'll save my life if there's an actual emergency. Once every 6 months or once a year is just unacceptable.....Pure negligence.
@xCoupDeGracex I actually disagree! I find the monthly tests quite annoying, and I think testing it every six months is sufficient. It’s important to balance safety with comfort, and less frequent testing can still ensure that the alarms are functional without being disruptive.

@@LoveLiveDiscover correct
What is the cost for renting
@andrewn6653 500€ + water & electricity, more detailed here:

@joshuarizalforeman816 thanks for sharing! Province life is beautiful, quiet and has its own charm ☺
Rockwell in Makati is the best
@marianeil6630 Thanks for recommendation
delivery of foods and guest should be registered for safety purposes!
Yeah, it`s very safe condo!
is your place smdc light residences at edsa, i"m looking for place to stay in mandaluyong
@assanchez7683 Yes, that`s correct
SMDC cut is small ....1 bedroom at least 40 sqmtr 2 bedroom 60 to 70 sqmtr.
@angelocalima6338 Yeah, apartments are tiny
Now i remember you Jay2 is your pinoy husband?
No, he is from Cyprus, it’s European island in Mediterranean sea
@@LoveLiveDiscover sorry, you look like the other vloggers whos husband is Filipino
No worries :)
What does SMDC stand for?
SM Development Corporation
500 peso or euro?
I misspoke, 500 euros, of course
The condo where you’re at is a high density condo and there’s nothing luxurious about it. It’s for the masses. Just saying ✌️
@@Rob-Cruz, can you recommend one that is not high density and luxurious?
I live there too
Cool!
All SMDC condo do not allow laundry to be hang outside for beauty sake.
A big con IMHO - tiny size of the unit. Pros about 3 minutes, Cons about 7 minutes - do Cons really out-weigh the Pros?
@jacksonj3082 agree, apartment is too tiny! Actually, for me, life in the Philippines is great, and there are definitely more pluses than minuses! In the video, the cons might take more time because I feel the need to explain them in detail, whereas the pros are more straightforward and clear. I focus on the good parts of life here-there's so much to enjoy, from the culture to the convenience, so the positives definitely outweigh the small inconveniences! :)
@@LoveLiveDiscover Fair point - glad you enjoy the positives
How much are the units to rent ?
@carltiacjer7827 I was renting on Airbnb just for 2 months so it was pretty expensive - around 500€ + water & electricity
Most of these older buildings have roach 🪳 problems so you need to be okay with them
Are they luxury roaches?
Nope. Not living a big city traffic life in New York Manila City. Built an oceanfront 3 bedroom 15 min from Cebu with malls and hospitals. Better for a 10yr old girl who has school daily. More friends and safer.
Where are you from?
I’m originally from Russia, but I haven’t lived there for the past eight years.
@@LoveLiveDiscover
Welcome. We love our Christian brothers and sisters from Russia. In Philippines you are safe just be friendly with locals.
@@LoveLiveDiscover
How you find Manila?
@@LoveLiveDiscover .... hey !!! have you heard of samal island ?? it's a small island really close to davao city ..... there's a small russian community there .... there's some russian expats who were also vlogging there & 1 of them is "valentina loving philippines" ..... have fun !!!!!
@Miguel_angel6791 I really like living here! So safe, people super friendly and everyone speaks English! That`s rear in South East Asia. So loving the Philippines 😊🇵🇭
You said there are two pools for kids and one for adults who want to swim. But can adults sit in the kids pool and relax, that you didn't mention. Not every adult wants to swim laps? I love the Philippines but sometimes their way of thinking is decades behind LOL
@gmemo4449 Many parents enjoy sitting in the kids' pool and playing with their children. Plus, there are two adult pools-one for swimming laps and another for relaxing. So, there's definitely plenty of space for everyone to soak and unwind! 😊
Concrete bunker…😊
@davidkern8954 It`s all about your perspective 🙂
Hello did u knw Remembering our humanitarian legacy with ‘Safe Haven: Jewish Refugees in the Philippines’
To pay tribute to the legacy of Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon, whose Open Door policy saved close to 1,300 Jewish refugees fleeing the Holocaust, twin events were organized by the Philippine Mission to the UN in New York and the Philippine Embassy in Israel.
10 Feb 2020
The Philippines upholds a strong humanitarian tradition of providing succor for forcibly displaced individuals in need of protection. Long before the Philippines had formal immigration policies and became a State party to the 1951 Refugee Convention, Filipinos have embodied the spirit of compassion, solidarity, and humanity. This nation was among the first to spontaneously offer asylum to successive waves of refugees fleeing persecution since the end of World War I.
Paying Tribute
I live close there from Los Angeles . Maybe we can have meet up. Looking for a friend. Don’t have much now. Let me know ty.
@rodeloperez5138 Sorry, we already left Philippines, otherwise we would love too :)
The location may be convenient, but the condo itself is depressing, the sofa and other furnishings look very uncomfortable, unstable and made of cheap materials.
How did u know it's cheap material, did u stay there? Show us your house also let's see and the world if ur house or accommodation is perfectly not depressing.
Your mindset is depressing
Cuz it's not a luxury but for her it is
@@pinoyislander4400 If you can't determine simply by looking at them whether furnishings are well-made with good materials, it tells me you have not been exposed to much. As far as me showing you my house, dream on! I have NOTHING TO PROVE TO YOU! I DON'T EVEN KNOW U! And if I say I find the condo depressing, that is my opinion and I am entitled to it. If this lady opted to show her accommodations and living conditions and put it out there publicly, then she should expect that people will have their opinion.
Covenient place but I know there's lots of rules there like in my subdivision
@Von199X Agree, so many strange rules!
if you're alone i can apply as your companion free of charge..
I don’t think pet animals are allowed in the building.
No privacy too many condo side by side. It’s like a mall on the pool when all the condo owner decided to go for swimming.
@lightningsparksky3277 I understand your concern, but pool and area around are empty all day other than few hours on the evening. Most of the days I have all 4 pools to myself as I am swimming in the mornings :)
People are busy with work not everyone just roam around all the time😊
Ur on pt abt cockroach. Thats always the problem. And theres no solution always temporary remedy. 😢sad. Its hard to teach dicipline also.
You never showed the inside of the condominium
@sma357 If you meant the apartment itself , it’s here: ua-cam.com/video/GmouJNbp9M0/v-deo.html&si=ixc1d91BIMfDuVNQ
Yeah that's luxury Filipino style. Jesus Christ 😂
SMDC is not luxurious
One thing l learned about living in the Philippines and returning, the people can be lazy and they don't like to follow rules. Why the cockroach problem regarding trash, it's really annoying 🤦
@gmemo4449 It can be challenging to deal with trash management and pests. While many people are hardworking, there can be inconsistencies in how rules are followed. Hopefully, with time, things will improve!
Your camera work makes me dizzy
Sorry, will try to be more smooth next time :)
Goto trump tower stay there much better SM condo is for mass people
@Akira29H I appreciate your suggestion, but everyone has different preferences when it comes to living arrangements! While Trump Tower might offer a different experience, I enjoy the community and amenities here at SM condo. It's all about finding what suits you best!
I still prefer BGC i know yeah apartments there are expensive
@strawberryshortcakemitchell BGC is definitely a great place, though it can get pricey! It has that modern vibe and a lot of nice amenities.
And it is just 5 mines drive away so we can go there when we want :)
Don’t waste your money for renting buy condo u can own it
@Akira29H It's easy to think you know what's best for everyone. I’m only staying here for two months so renting is my best choice
I’m sure it’s noisy there!! The bigger the projects, noisy, dogs and children
people won't go there for this !
What an ass!
That is not luxury lol
I hate cockroaches ! I wouldn’t stay in that place .
The cockroach issue is a big nope for me. Disgusting.
This is not luxury, just basic, but if u are from Russia, then to u it is luxury
@user-rd2em4zw1s there's really no need to be offensive. Luxury can mean different things to different people, and for some, the amenities and comfort here might feel luxurious. It's all about perspective!
Wow typical woman , an apartment tour turns into a mall review, a long winded story that has nothing of substance to see
@cindygordon5242 My goal is to provide a complete picture of life here, including the surrounding amenities like malls. Many viewers enjoy hearing about those aspects, as they contribute to the overall experience of living in the area.
Too many people for my liking!
@tullyaussie I totally understand! It can definitely feel crowded at times. However, I find that living in this residency offers a quieter environment, which really enhances the enjoyment of the city.
SM Light is FAR from luxury. Sorry to break it to you
@user-nc9sv8iy3r I understand where you're coming from, but for me, SM Light offers a level of comfort and amenities that feels luxurious. Everyone has their own definition of luxury, and I appreciate what this place has to offer!
Christian family, let us focus, on believing and proclaiming, the gospel, unto our eternal salvation. We must believe, how, Christ died for our sins, he was buried and he rose again the third day, amen. 1 Corinthians 15 3:4 Maranatha.😊

@user-zn3pv7eg3t I’m sharing MY experience as a foreigner living in the Philippines, and for me, this place is good enough to call it luxury. There are different levels of luxury, and it doesn’t have to be the absolute top tier to qualify.
