Glad I found this video! 🙏
Its a high cost sure, but its relatively lower than cost of living in most western cities for the particular lifestyle you live. I think in current times that is mostly due to house prices/rent in the west, some of the other items could be more or less adjustable in many places.
Great information. Honestly, I figured the eateries would be more expensive. I'm sure you can spend as much as you want, but it is good to see that you can eat there for about the cost of fast food in the states.
I don't know why foreigners keep on saying that BGC is a city like Makati City. The truth is BGC, Mckinley Hill and Arca South are just tiny parts of Taguig City within the Metro Manila. 😂

Good morning man you're a great storyteller! support
Thank you 👍👍👍👍
Man i suggest upload your videos between 6pm to 8pm. Im a bit suprised you upload this vlog at 7am. Filipino vloggers upload their vlogs at dinner time so you will have many viewers at that time.
@Basta11
Oh dear Heaven's that is Glorious! I just watched a video where a subscriber suggested this for a single fellow like myself ....
Minimum to live comfortably in 2024.
BGC/Makati - $4000
Rest of Manila - $3500
Cebu - $3000
Davao, Iloilo - $2500
Other Highly Urbanized Cities (Tier 2 cities) - $2000
Municipalities (Tier 3) - $1750
Provincial Town (Rural area) - $1500
I will have $3500 US from ages 55-60 YOA. After age 60, it will increase to $3900.00 US for the rest of my life with cost of living increases annually. It sound's like this budget would be very doable as a single man with no children in BGC. Glad I found this video! 🙏
You have to see aseana city in parañaque
I lived there for a year, can't wait to go back
Ooh my British fiance would love that there's a good fish & chips there. 😱 thanks for the info!!
5:25 how about centralized aircon?
Mergim's monthly expense is equivalent to a brand new iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB version. Wow! 😮
Definitely not for average Filipinos, apartments which usually ranges around 6-15k PHP
I don't know why foreigners keep on saying that BGC is a city like Makati City. The truth is BGC, Mckinley Hill and Arca South are just tiny parts of Taguig City within the Metro Manila. 😂
nice vids keep em coming
The Shangra La at the Fort, has built in air-conditioning, the same type of built in system as here in Miami Beach. I wonder what a three bedroom unit would cost monthly for electricity in those units?
Thank you for sharing
If your unit is renovated, why did they not install an inverter split type aircon? They have been available since at least 2017.
Thanks for the food restaurants tour 😂 Mergim you spend most on food n coffee than rent 😂 Wow Big Bird has Fish n Chips 💚 When I go2 Mitsukoshi Mall, I’m definitely gonna get that! I miss Ivar’s Fish n chips in Seattle. They have salmon, halibut n cod 💙 I also miss the world famous Ivar’s Clam chowder served in a Sourdough Bread Bowl 💜
12 peso per kwh - move to Clark... much nice area, international airport.... last year has been variable 2-5peso per kwh
Mergin why you are not mentioning the Avida Montane?
A River Cobbler is a fish from Vietnam which is also called Basa.
It's a type of catfish.
I prefer my fish with chips to be Cod.
Mergim you just need to change region in your phone settings so that you can install angkas and other apps in the PH
BGC rent is a lot more expensive than some of the US cities, that is crazy.
You’ll see why once you visit.
Where the hell in the US do you live? I've never seen a decent place under $800. Unless of course you have roommates or something
Show me what kind of city and what kind of place you can rent with $700 in the US.
Very imformative nice c😊ntent
if your phone is not dafaulted to the PH you will not be able to download some PH specific apps, even if you have a PH sim card. but be aware, if you change the default location in your device some of your apps and user accounts may be affected and be unusable. best way is to get/buy a new phone defaulted to PH with a PH sim.
This gives me more confidence that I can live comfortably with my retirement income. Thanks, Mergim.
What makes you sets apart from others is your excellent creativity and extra effort of making content. Like this one, you can just stay in one place and tell all but no, instead you make a story out of it. 👏
I'm looking to do remote IT work from the US and live in BGC soon
EXPENSIVE !! 350 php like in my city in Europe 😢
Makati is a nice place to live too❤
Please explain to me why one should choose BGC over cities like KL and Bangkok as both of the latter cities offer all the same amenities but for half of the prices you will find in BGC.
You will at either resto or fastfood there which runs at 500-1k per meal
It seems the biggest cost is renting, and a world ofdifference if you are renting month to month versus long term ( 6 month or 1 year) lease. Correct?
I'd like to find more info on the penthouses. Some of these studios and 1 bedroom are too small. Not looking to buy a place, just rent. Looked on airbnb but those prices are overpriced.
Also I'd love to know more about the surrounding area. I want to go hiking, enjoy the beach, snorkeling etc. It's the main reason I'm looking to move there. BGC looks like a great place to live, but lacks in the nature
Also. More info on cell phone plans would be nice. I keep hearing about sim cards and load.. Can't I just buy a phone and plan and pay monthly like in the US?
Hi, Mergim, what real estate agency or agent would be good to contact? Thank you.
I’m moving to BGC this summer for 2 years
