I’m Fil/Am living here in the 🇵🇭. There are choices to live here comfortably, eat healthy, clean surroundings with fresh air and without pollution. I live in a gated village about 30 minute drive to Metro Manila like Makati and BGC. It all depends in traffic and the time I travel.
I do my grocery shopping mainly at S&R, Landers, Shopwise, SM Hyoermarket etc. I don’t go to the public market. I don’t go2 carinderia and street foods. I prefer a healthier home cooked meals. I do IF which means intermittent fasting. Other than traffic and crazy drivers I don’t have any problems living here in the 🇵🇭. The one advantage living here is my money goes further.

So funny how Filipinos never miss an opportunity to brag every little things they can. Especially about their links with the US. " I'm not just a Filipino doing standard Filipino stuff. Heck no! I'm an FIL/Am which is a much better Filipino than common Filipinos". Philippines would never be Philippines without people like you. Keep it up.

@amaliahightower Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s great to hear how you’ve found a comfortable lifestyle in the Philippines, especially with access to fresh air and healthy food options. I agree that grocery shopping at places like S&R and SM Hypermarket can make a big difference, and it’s awesome that you can enjoy home-cooked meals while managing your health with intermittent fasting. It sounds like you’ve made the most of living here! 😊

Very nice video and I agree with almost everything you mention. I happen to really like many of the Filipino foods though like the Sinigang sour soup, Pansit, adobo and others. A few of the big turn offs for me are the pollution, noise and air and trash, the reliability of constant power, safe walking areas, drainage and ease of getting things done. I have been warned by many to be extremely patient. The country's beauty, its people and friendly culture are so nice though. I will certainly come for a nice visit but not so sure that is the place for me to stay long term.

It's a highly dysfunctional and corrupt country. Nothing works. I have stayed in a city called Antipolo. Extremely corrupt place. If I describe the experience that I had and what I saw to the average Norty American, he or she will never believe me. It was ridiculously bad. Most people there are in despair. They're so used to low standards and incompetence that they don't even realize that what they do is wrong. Trying to reason them only makes conflicts. Foreigners must keep their mouths shut. Locals don't accept criticism.

Everytime I hear of any vlogger, not just you, who criticises any country's bad infrastructure where you have been puts me off big time because of your entitled mentality. You may not admit that you are but you really are. Let me tell you why: because you're telling your audience that you deserve better and that you shouldn't be inconvenienced by any of these things to keep you going in life when in the first place it's your decision to live in that place. Think about it and I mean contemplate about it and tell me if I'm wrong. Love this blog btw. Peace!

Eto ang mga problema ng pinas kaya konti lang ang mga foreign tourists at hindi sila nagtatagal sa ating bansa:
      1. Rampant Corruption in government and public.
      2. Very very very few modern infrastructures.
      3. No modern transportation
      4. No modern airport
      4. Mahina or walang internet
      5. Nawawalan ng kuryente (brownout)
      5. Mahina or nawawalan or walang tubig
      6. Nakawan at kikilan sa NAIA airport
      7. EXPENSIVE accomodations
      8. Maraming patayan, kriminal, nakawan, mandurukot, snatchers, kidnappers , drug addicts at mga pushers
      13. Illegal squatters, street dwellers and beggars everywhere, particularly children asking money from foreigners.
Tapos sasabihin natin "Its more fun in the Phlippines" ??? Nakakahiya ! Tourism will boost our local economy kasi foreigners spend money in our country which helps our local business to earn more. The local and national government MUST do something to solve/fix these problems.

See this is a perspective of a foreign female which is totally different in many aspects from the perspective of a foreign man. We foreign men have a big advantage, and that is the Filipinas that are so attractive in almost every way compared to the western woman. Lets be honest foreign women are not attracted to Filipino men. In fact foreign women are not attracted to any Asian man.
But in her case, I guess being married, her perspective is different. Good video all in all.

    • @83nomad5
      @83nomad5 4 місяці тому

The other side of the coin is that most Filipino men do not see western women as the marrying type. In your case, what makes you assume that Pinays find you attractive simply because you're a "foreign man"? You don't think they would prefer to be with their own kind at every opportunity?

Thanks for your honesty...I'm filipino and lived in multiple countries. A lot of filipinos are sensitive and don't take well to the truth/criticism yet they criticize a lot and think it's absolutely ok. My father had an emergency last year and had to go to the hospital but they kept him there for more than a week because they said he had covid. According to the doctor when my father was released, he didn't have covid but had traces of it. I called B.S. on it and told my family they saw a California driver's license when my father was admitted which is why they tried to keep him longer. They knew we would have to pay it. Luckily, we have insurance. My point of telling you this story is that even my mother was upset with me and told me I was always criticizing the Philippines. I was just calling it how I saw it.
