CORRECTION: Xbox one S has a ever so slightly better gpu compared to original xbox one. Nothing really noticeable in terms of performance but it has that little bit of extra gpu performance because the one S can do 4K blue ray playback. That little extra performance doesn’t really do anything for fps in games though.
I'm pretty sure what the One S did (I have one too) is the GPU clock speed was raised slightly which at most is a few extra frames per second in games that dip below the cap if it is a GPU bottleneck, the CPU the consoles have however have always been bad (PCs had far better CPU options from Intel) and could be the issue in games too. It also has a Ultra Blu Ray drive along with newer HDMI which allows 4K output which does make it a 4K streaming and blu ray box but it's barely better than a fat in games. PC hardware from 2013 is pretty much incapable of running anything new these days unless it is some lightweight competitive game, the consoles are old and outdated and HDDs for games are just slow and not good compared to SSDs.
Its better than the original one for hdr and better visual quality => So its not slower than the PA4 so the console is faster (google the TF of these consoles) The One S is holding very good => Cod is not even worth playing😅 Nearly every nes game on the console is pretty good playable (palworld nahh) u should repaste and clean it 🙂
Yeah, in real world gaming usage the difference between the VCR Xbone and One S is almost none. Like we're seeing here, a fat lotta good that extra power is doing. You're better off going for either the base VCR model or One X and installing your games to some external storage USB like a sshd or ssd, and leaving the internal drive empty or otherwise using it very sparingly since the UI is super slow and laggy. I'd recommend a cheaper USB sshd unit on the VCR model, unless you know how to take apart your Xbox and clone your internal drive, which is probably the only way you'll get the Xbox os working properly since the USB offline installer has been busted for a few years now.
redo its thermal paste, they barely put any when they made the launc ps4's did it with mine and now its pretty friggen quiet, tested it out with elden ring :)
One thing to note on the slow loading part for Fall Guys: Microsoft has been neglecting the Xbox One version of the OS since the Series X|S came out. It’s the same OS on both consoles (minus some Series specific features on One), but it really feels like Microsoft has been putting out updates and only testing them on Series consoles rather than Xbox One consoles. It’s the reason I switched to a PS4 in late 2022. I can’t afford a new console currently, but unlike my Xbox One, the PS4 skips all the “This game took to long and I got bored waiting” errors and just opens the game.
Series S is the answer if you want to go Xbox. I went with both Xbox and PS4 last gen, but this gen I only went for Playstation, stuff's expensive here in Brazil so I had to choose. But I'll get a Series S when I can as well, it's a great system.
well duh, you are playing live service games which in 2024 doesn't make sense since this console is so old. most people play single player games on older hardware. not sure what you were expecting...besides most people mod their older xbox consoles which greatly extends the life and enjoyment of the console.
I’d try changing the hard drive to an SSD and even try to redo its thermal paste, it can breathe new life into these older console sometime, did it with my one S and it runs pretty alright I’d say
I see no reason to get a 9th gen console. I still have the old VCR model, and the only games I really liked in the 8th generation was Fallout 4, AC Unity, The Witcher, Battlefield 1, Ghost Recon Wildlands, and RDR2. Every game after RDR2 seemed like battlepass, lazy, soulless, corporate slop. 9th gen has zero games I’m hyped for; I’m even worried about GTA 6 since some major OG Rockstar devs have left. Meanwhile, I have a whole shelf of XB360 games that are absolute bangers.
My One S is still doing well in 2024 and will do for the foreseeable future. Getting the One X just for the upgraded performance and 4K after watching a few comparison videos. I tend to play Xbox One and not cross gen games so it’s not a big deal for me.
Some people just don’t have the money for xboxone x the box one but if u mod it the s like clean it swap the ssd and to a one tb and a caddy 1tb it works I have the download time is fast
I think one of the main issues with the Xbox one is with the mechanical hard drive and the Xbox operating system has no way of defragmenting it so overtime it just gets slower and slower, an SSD definitely solves that problem.
@Carrington1961 Yeah. Definitely would help loading times and what not but it’s honestly just not worth my money when i already have a series s. maybe when the hard drive dies i’ll put a ssd in it because i like playing my disc games sometimes
If anyone here has a one s you can fix this and double the performance if you get like a hairdryer or something with cold air and put it on the fan holes which gets rid of all the years of dust. Also you can update the Xbox in the settings and make sure you have at least 50 - 100 gb free storage which makes the performance so much better
I’ll put the games onto an external ssd instead of the internal HDD. That will probably make a difference in loading times and stuttering on cod. It more than likely won’t do anything for fps or graphics in general
I play on both Xbox One and PS4 . Not being biased but from my experience, playstation runs the game better than Xbox. And both of my consoles uses a SSD. But I still like using Xbox but from experience games like warzone, fortnite or mostly multiplayer games run much better on playstation
I was in a tight spot so sold my series s an ended up downgrading to the one s omg it’s unplayable I’ve tried everything even pumping my resolution down to 720 P it’s useless
haha your complaining about nothing. Its like a low end PC vs a high end. Whole point of the xbox platform was that they will always be able to run the games at lower framerates, lower resolutions. You get what u can afford. You want a better experience you get the better hardware.
I already a series s, The series S is my recommendation to anyone who wants to get into gaming or console gaming. Cheap compared to a pc or series x/ps5, and its smallest xbox ever made.
So I don't really game anymore, I had a series x and also a PS5 at one point but I got rid of them both because to be honest with you I don't really game all that much other than occasionally. I ended up keeping my 1s because the performance I get from it is adequate for what I do. Which is I don't know how many playthroughs I'm on on Skyrim and how many playthroughs of fallout 4 I've done, between that and skate 3 That's the only games I play. Truthfully I'm not getting the hiccup issue at all that you're experiencing, perhaps because it's an online game is the reason why, although because all my gaming happens through game pass I assume it's also going through Xbox live, but I just don't have the problem. I will say in terms of last generation consoles, a friend of mine's PS4 slim does run ever so slightly faster and more seamlessly than my Xbox One s, not really in terms of games, but more like in terms of menus and if you click on something on the home screen it just works a little quicker on the PS4 versus what I noticed with my Xbox, but nothing that's dramatic, I mean we're not talking about an Atari 2600 here, the Xbox One s does not have a crank coming out of the front of it that you have to turn to get it going, isn't as good as a brand new series x no, does that mean it's leagues and leagues behind what the series x is, no it isn't. I mean I love these reviews where people criticize the last generation in comparison to the modern one and talk about how bad the graphics were, well excuse me But what the hell are you calling her about? Are we even playing the same consoles, when I had my series x I literally did a side-by-side comparison with a modern 4K 120 HZ LG television, other than it being a little better, it wasn't night and day and it's certainly wasn't like going from a PS3 to a super Nintendo, at least not like you make out. I would suggest for your next review like this to temper your words and criticism, so you don't end up damning something to Oblivion when it doesn't need to be, or making something out to be something it isn't.
Well if you have no other options, it offers tons of fun and can be bought for next to nothing. Maybe a cheap ssd and the stutter is much better. Some games should be avoided though. But the One X is the real deal I’d say, saw some for around 80 bucks in good condition. Better than a Series S in some games and has a disc drive. Games can be found from 2-10 bucks. That beast with an ssd and there’s no real reason to upgrade for casuals. Well, except some games only offer 30fps…but so what. At least in 4K 🧐😃
This is why I don’t understand why people are ok with sticking to last gen consoles. Everything is so slow and choppy. There’s no way it doesn’t hinder your experience.
Oh 100%. And like you mentioned, this is going on with ps4 as well. I use it as a dvd player these days and I cringe every time I have to go through menus and the like. The performance is abysmal
@@Mookie12911The answer is money. With the economy in the state that it is today, I know way too many people who would love to jump to a PS5/Series X, but can’t afford the $500 price tag. A lot of those same people take advantage of physical media (you can often get it way cheaper than digital), so they’re not interested in a Series S or a PS5 digital. The ones who are are still struggling to afford it, even at the lower prices.
