I genuinely believe all of the major toy companies (Hasbro, Mattel, etc.) have talented and passionate designers who are CAPABLE of making figures just as good as Jada's figures, but Jada is a PERFECT example of one of the benefits of a private company versus a publicly traded corporation. Private companies are able to draw a line and say "We're happy with this amount of profit if it means we can release products we're passionate about and proud of", whereas publicly traded corporations ONLY care about profits. Behind every mediocre Marvel Legend or WWE figure, you know there was a designer who REALLY wanted to make the best figure possible but wasn't allowed to due to budgets and limitations imposed by their corporate overlords. When it comes to fighting game figures I’ve always wished they came with a taking damage face. I don’t mean battle damaged but the face they make when they’re in the middle of being hit with an attack. These are fighting game characters, they beat each other up, it’s what they were designed to do, and yet we can’t really pose them doing that to each other. Either a surprised expression or one where the character is clearly wincing or something like that, I feel like those could go a long way and open up a lot of display and photography opportunities.
@@UnparalleledUniverse they just should do devil may cry and resident evil figures.they would look good next to marvel legends and having a marvel vs capcom shelf would be cool
Wish I could find these more easily. Been scouring a half dozen Targets for weeks looking for Chun-Li and I've at most seen maybe three Jada SF figures (Ryu and Fei Long only) at once while there are ten million Landfill Pops warming shelves.
The crispiest of crisp reviews. Chun-Li looks to be top ten for me with 4H Monkey King, Classified blank(insert nearly any of the releases), Cosmic Legions Kraggnar, more to come. NECA Space Usagi. Legends Animated Ock. So many good figures this year.
Jada Toys and Juhn are the absolute best in class, their releases are so good that it's fair to say they are putting other companies to shame at this point. Two lines in and their figures are legitimately going toe to toe with SH Figuarts, they deserve an award for raising the bar.
I cannot wait to get this figure! I know nothing about Chun-li, but I like good toys and she looks basically perfect. She has good sculpt and proportions, it's all new and unique, and she's got great articulation. For a character that is known for being a kicker, they nailed the lower body articulation. In the debate between aesthetics and articulation, she clearly appears to have both without having to sacrifice on either end. Also, I'm perfectly fine with them delaying the production. She looks so much better than the earlier test shots, and I'm totally ok with waiting a few months if this is the result. FOTY Top 10 contender for sure! If not top 3
I cannot wait for Blanka, player 1 and 2 colors! I'm with you although I did play SF2 a lot I still never like followed the franchise much after. But it was enough to instill a love for the property and as a result am so happy to have a line like this. Going to be deep and consistent and just great I am sure. Dope review bro
The figure from wave 1 I’m most excited for. I have the Sh Figuarts Chun Li and she’s a fantastic figure but she’s very animé styled for some reason. So she doesn’t really look like she fits in an X-Men vs Street Fighter or Marvel vs Capcom display. THIS is much closer to what I’ve wanted for so long. It’s a very exciting time to be a Street Fighter fan, with SF6 and this killer line, these characters get the justice they deserve.
Been hunting for this figure for months and finally found her the other day. I’m no expert but this is easily the best female figure I’ve ever owned. This line is one of my favorite things going on right now. Also got Ryu and Fei long. Planning on going all in on this line and really kicking myself for not getting evil Ryu when he was available. I’ve been focused on tmnt and neca tmnt in particular and it feels good to actually be excited about something else for once. Those lines can really dominate your collection.
I'm not a big SF fan either--but great figures are great figures and I can't believe how comparable these are to the Storm Collectibles and Figuarts versions at a MUCH lower price point.
@@UnparalleledUniverse in Nostalgia Unboxed review for Chun li it looks like that hinge joint is in front and back. It showed my neck articulation. Yours may be placed wrong in that area.
This chun li doesn’t need a butterfly joint because jung and team actually know how to design articulation. Butterfly joints are usually unnecessary for all action figures. Even when they are done well, you sacrifice a clean sculpt. You could get the same amount of range in the shoulders without a butterfly joint if the shoulders are simply designed well.
I've got a modest collection of Sota figures (Chun-Li, Guile, Vega, Sakura, Akuma, Ibuki, Cammy). They are what got me into collecting action figures as an adult. Don't know if I will go all in on the Jada versions, but Chun-Li is on the way, and here's a few others I definitely want. I was tempted by some Storm Collectibles figures, but they were too expensive for me. Hopefully Jada do some Marvel vs Capcom too.. I'd love a decent Rogue in this style. 😍

Chin Li looks leagues ahead of the Hasbro black widow. That black widow has nice accessories, headsculpts, and decent articulation, but otherwise it’s just looks like a basic black molded figure.
