- Episode 6 of figure battles, SH Figuarts vs Storm Collectibles once again!
This time it’s a Street Fighter’s Chun-Li.

The big turn off point for me was the trasition from waist to hips on the storm. If you look at the part where all the figures standing together you will see what I mean. It looks like her waist is being badly strangle by the belt. Also the face on figuarts was more nicer and not manly like the storm collectibles.
Nah Storm is way better, the other looks like a cheap china doll.

Storm Collectibles is better they did amazing job with Street fighter 5 line
They both stick out to me, but I prefer S.H. Figuarts scale for the most part. Sometimes, the larger figures don't satisfy me, unless they're sized to proper scale. McFarlane is a perfect example of what I'm saying. I have a McFarlane Naruto Figure, and a S.H. Figuarts Super Saiyan Blue Goku. The Naruto figure is about 7 inches tall, versus the S.H. FIguarts standard 6 inch scale, so the Naruto figure towers my Goku figure. 6 inch scale is my taste, but that aside, both look really good. Although, I do really like the generic, anime look that S.H. Figuarts opted to go with.
I would like to see a face closer to the Storm one on the figuarts Chun Li. If they the just toned down the anime look it would fit better with more 6" inch figure lines, IMO.
The figuarts Ryu is perfect! It's still anime like the game. But, to me, it doesn't look like it would clash with anything. (Other than hyper real figures and statues, maybe.)
I've always wanted to see the comparison between the two Chun-Li figures. If my budget was bigger and if I had more space where I live, I'd pick the Storm Collectibles Chun-Li simply because she's taller. As of now, though, I'm not making room for either figure.
Nothing against the Storm Chun Li but i personally feel the Figuarts Chun Li's generic anime look and overall poseability is much more appealing to me
The anime look is leagues more accurate than SFV's garbage man face square jawed look.

Le "weeb" argument is beyond pathetic considering it's a character from a Japanese video game with an anime artstyle. I find it hilarious whenever someone says "weeb" and then proceeds to play with their Japanese toy (Bandai) representing a Chinese character (Chun Li) in a Japanese video game(Street Fighter) produced by a Japanese company (Capcom), completely ignoring all forms of autistic irony. Fucking laughable. Only hardcore SJWs enjoy transvestite man-face Storm Chun.

My main problem with storm collectibles are the scale, they are too big compared to most of the 1/12 figures
Nice review/comparision... for me , storm all the way. Finally a Chun-Li figure has a nose!!! Maybe she could use some face makeover, a little makeup retouch. Lovely hands tho . Haha 👌
It's a close call. But I have to go with S.H. Figuarts when it comes to Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, and Sakura. They're not tall characters and scale perfectly with Marvel Legends. Characters like Zangief, Sagat, M.Bison (Vega in Japan), and Balrog (M.Bison in Japan) soon to be released, I'll go with Storm Collectibles because they're big characters.
Going with SHF. The SC scale is waaaay off, the face doesn't really do it for me and her proportions make her look slightly manly.

I subbed & Storm hands down. Figurarts are cool, but I like the style as well as the articulation, scale & accessories of Storm's figures better.
I don't regret my sh figuarts Chun Li, but I do wish I'd gotten the Storm version too.
If only Storm Collectibles would release Cammy and Laura, I would be incredibly happy.

Yeah, the face on the storm collectibles one looks bored, at least for me, and I think her thighs are not as detailed as the figuarts one

The biggest problem with the SH Figuarts version of Chun-Li is that it's supposed to be SFV but looks more like SFIV.

I like both but Storm Collectibles is my favorite. I'll most likely get both but I can't wait to get Storms Goro. I just got my Shau Khan and it's a work of art. I also love the fact that Storm is doing characters from almost all of the greatest fighting games. Tekken, King of Fighters, etc. Keep them coming guys.
How much did you pay for the shau khan? Its crazy expensive now.
I like figuarts anime face, storm has a dude's face, I like the figuarts body, storm's has kardashian's ugly ass, storm has great paint app and joints, also love the acessoriee
Agreed that storm looks better. I have no faith in BANDAI as they have a record of starting new line of figures and then cancel them.
Don't like the rubber used on storm collectibles figures. Over time rubber deteriorates and cracks. They could've used softer plastics like sh figuarts. Don't like the anime look for the sh figuarts.
Love sculpt and articulation for the storm collectibles, not the rubber. This would've made it a 100% total knock out blast of awesomeness 😲😲😲💙💚❤💛💖💞💝. On the other side, sh figuarts would've knocked it out if they'd gone with video game accuracy like storm collectibles did. Great review. Keep it up.
Thanks for the comments mate! Rubber deteriorating over time is a bit worrying, I know the paint on the neck of my ryu is already flaking a little.

IDK Bro but storm gets my money 💰 Every Time !!! Every figure I get from them has me wishing they’d pick up other licenses DBZ MARVEL VIDEO GAME Licenses I love they’re use of mixed plastic and as much as I doo like the look of sh chun li she just looks like a wuss all prissy and clean storms version just looks like she’d beat the Buns of her petite lil head they’re entire SF line is just BEAST in terms of esthetics and the little if any range you give up just doesn’t compare to the sheer Awesomeness of they’re LOOK side by side with SH IMHO STORM IS JUST KILLING THEM plus the figures just have such presence on my shelf as where sh just strikes me as bland and simple looking !?!?! The one ☝️ gripe I have is her scaling I wish they made her shorter like 1/4 to 3/8 “ shorter than ken n Ryun other than that I like the look of storms battle ready Woman over sh’s cute lil china doll..... I can tell by your selection my good Sir you are a collector of good taste!!!

Team Figuarts, that SC face is so ugly, the scale is also a problem, SHF is cheaper and gold paint in SC looks off.

I have all of the SOTA figures so I try to get figures SOTA didn't make that are scale with them. I am interested in getting another Zangief. The SOTA Zangief has a very rough sculpt. Like they didn't take the time to smooth it out. That and it's face is just ugly. So when I get the chance I am getting a Storm collectible 'Gief . That Chun-li looks pretty big, but it does look beautiful.
Storm is better looking but that gold paint job on her chest is sloppy.
if only the Storm version had a better face.. the sh figuarts ver. has that classic look

only $15 price difference while in my country, the difference is 250, now that storm collectible is hard to come by, they jacked up the price make it 500 price difference 😪, i really want that storm collectible though, having a very difficult time just to find it

STORM COLLECTIBLES is more realistic in face, sh figuarts is very caricaturesque, but articulation sh f wins
Storms is more game accurate while Figurarts has a more of an anime and manga vibe going on. But I wont deny Storms version is juicy in the hips and cakes ;)! But thats also a kinda downside as it makes her waist look like she just had a baby XD! While Figuarts makes her look younger and fresher as in its her first tournament or something.
I say if u want game accuracy go for Storms version. But if u want an anime type looking one with a slimmer younger build then get that one!
The over all consistancy of the storm one is off, although very detailed.
Its far more accurate than the other..the other looks like anime, to each thier own.

Great video brother!!! I think overall Storm is the better figure but they are both great. When I can I buy one of each. I can't wait for storms Cammey because Figuarts definitely messed up her ass which is arguably the biggest asset that shes known for. Keep up the great work...

She does! Probably the second best in my opinion in the line. My favorite being Sakura, jut edges out Chun Li by a bit.

Edit: Ok, looking a bit more in detail it seem that the images are inverted on that part, but the storm is indeed the one that have double jointed knees.
Imo storm blows shf away when it comes to sf figures. Sculpt, paint, feel in hand, etc just seem so right. This is just my personal opinion though and I would never push it on anyone or tell anyone that feels the complete opposite that they're wrong because it's all about how the person/individual feels about what they buy/collect and should never let anyone try to dictate to them how they should feel.
Reviewing whats available now a couple years later. Storm is just better. There may be fewer but each one is good, whereas the Figuarts are extremely hit or miss.
As far as I love the sc street fighter; and how I wish sc would be shf; l would go for shf just solely for the scale😭.. I could create tons of cross over with shf i.e. Street fighter vs dbz vs kamen rider vs avengers team.

I really wish figurarts would make an m.bison/vega figure. I like the storm one, but owning the shf ryu means it wouldn't be to scale. Sigh....

I have both of it, Storm just looks much better on hand. Shfiguarts just too pale and face kinda bothering me.
I'm more into the SHF anime look. Plus I was able to get it for $27. It fits better into my 6" line.

I was happy to find out that sh figuarts was making a chun-li figure, but I was never able to get past the face. it's just a little too moe/cute. I'll have to go with storm on this one.

Storm definitely seems like the better figure, I just don't like her face and her height. Everything else was great!!!
I disagree with your taste, but I respect your opinion. IMO both companies are pretty good, with Storm obviously being newer and therefore trying its best to make an impact with affordable prices for bigger figures (which imo is the reason the material feels less sturdy, i.e. RYU prone to break). However, speaking about Chun Li, I think the headsculpt needed more time: while it's undoubtedly going for a faithful SFV look, it just fails and looks like some sort of drag-queen/bitchy resting face, which kills it for me. The screaming face IS better than SHF's, but that's it. Also the sculpt of the hips is too exaggerated (once again, more faithful to SFV) but in figure form it makes them look misaligned and she looks a bit more unnatural. SHF Chun also has a cleaner paintjob with the gold lines, but indeed Storm has better shading. They're both great articulation-wise.
In summary I think both lines are doing well and fit different standards (Storm being all about SFV and SHF kinda cheating with a look that can be attributed to the franchise as a whole), and the winner varies in each individual release: I think Storm did a fantastic job with Hobo Shirtless Ryu & Ken, while SHF did great with Ryu, Chun & Rashid. I liked Cammy but she's clearly flawed and will no doubt be better when Storm releases their version of her.

Storm's figures are digital sculpts. Not the "Stipple" print technique Bandai uses on faces.

I have been thinking about starting a street fighter collection and Storms paint apps seem super nice but I am just not into the size...and that new akuma is Woof.....lmao looks like simba from the lion king hahaha I hope SHF continues their street fighter line that is my only concern at this point if I start to invest
