Thank you, it was a steep learning curve but I feel like with one more week I would have become much more competent with the character. What's interesting is if I go back to any character that I've done for the series I find that it's not very hard to keep them around as a pocket.
Diddy Kong is a character I weirdly vibe with whenever I get him on random so I'd be interested in learning how to play him. Fortunately learned a lot about item usage thanks to other characters I've played such as Daisy and Link.
I really admire Olimar's learned adaptability. The Pikmim management is really hard to get down but it can be very rewarding. I remember seeing Brawl on the shelf of a video game store and being in disbelief that they put my favorite character in the sequel to my favorite game and immediately begging my parents to buy it. The closest I've ever felt to that excitement from a smash addition was when they added Shulk, and I am equally bad at both characters!
The few times I've tried to play Olimar, I feel like I'm spending more time controlling the pikmin than fighting the opponent. I actually love playing and fighting Olimar. There's a risk reward between whether to throw the pikmin or not as Olimar, and opponent has to decide to deal with pikmin or charge through and attack Olimar. That said, I feel like the only player in existence that likes to play/fight Olimar sometimes lol I'm not too surprised that Olimar is not that popular. Lack of popularity is one thing. Then when it comes to characters that run away and throw stuff at enemies, he's got some tough competition. Snake is much easier to get into, and it's easier to see where you need to improve at to use him. Olimar goes from very simple to incredibly complex really fast when you go from casual to competitive with him so that can be another barrier to getting better with Olimar. Then of course there is R.O.B. who is quite easy to get into and is very strong for those that don't want to think but have oppressive projectiles.
Red pikmin good for smash attacks Yellow pikmin are heavier Blue pikmin good for throws White pikmin good for side B Purple pikmin are just chonky lil bois
yellows are not heavier, only purple are but yes they do electric damage so they have more hitstun, they also have a higher curve when tossed with side B and have larger hitboxes and when used in smash attacks the hitbox lasts a bit longer
Coworker Alph? Oh if only Olimar was lucky to have him as a coworker instead of Louie. They should make louie a character in this game though, and he uses food.
@@TuesdayTastic wow you replied! also if it isn’t too late to add another character to your next poll could you do Kirby? Love playing as him and I would like to learn more about him as you seem far more experienced than I am.
The more resources there are to manage, the more mistakes you’ll make. Olimar is a character that takes a lot to learn
Good job in the Kirby match up. If he ever inhales you it becomes brutal as he can easily force you to approach and then destroy with the CQC
You did really well for a character with such a high skill ceiling imo one of the mosg unique and interesting move sets in the game

@@TuesdayTastic Olimar is a very methodical character, so you may have to be patient when playing him.
I love Pikmin but I wasn't quite sure exactly how Olimar worked in Smash, so very informative! I'll have to remember this video next time I play!
you should try diddy kong next, it would be fun to see how much someone can master this very hard character in only a weeks time

Olimar is either weak as hell or a fucking nightmare depending on how good you are at high execution characters.

The least popular character in smash, wonder why!
Alph is not Olimar's coworker, they are friends because Alph and his team rescued him once. Louie is the coworker
Thanks for the correction. Imagine if it was Louie instead of Alph in the game haha

I didn't know that yellow pikmin were heavier that's super cool!

Hell yeah, I love Olimar!
Ever gonna do Bowser Jr?
When the people vote for them! #IggyGang
Funny enough, you released this the same day as the trailer for Pikmin 4
I have an uncle who works at Nintendo apparently
Just saw this video. Honestly 10/10
Olimar is probably the only character where you actually need to change your controller setup.
Smash stick is too good on Olimar to pass up.
you know what time it is, week 5 of begging for mii brawler :')
If it gets to week 10 I'm not even leaving it up to the poll

your explanation of olimar was so good !!!! thank you !!!
