Funny story I got my friend into smash by just saying that Rob's down tilt makes a funny boop sound and at first he just spammed that but then he actually learned how to play him and then he started trying other characters and now he's quite decent at the game so yeah that little comment got him into the game
Ah R.O.B., one of 11 characters I'm trying to decide between for a main. Less emotionally motivated compared to other characters I'm deciding between, but he has been next to me watching me play games throughout my life. I'm probably one of the few people that actually played one of his games using R.O.B., and Gyromite was really fun (even if when I was a kid, I soon realized instead of waiting 30 seconds for him to put the gyros down to press a button, I could just pick up the controller and press it myself and it be significantly faster) Funnily enough Bedman's theme in Guilty Gear made me fall in love with R.O.B. again since while bedman is a completely different character, it's similar enough that it reminded me of all the stuff I love about R.O.B.. I'm sure if I rewatched Wall-E and Short Circuit again I'd love R.O.B. even more to the point where I can't ignore him. One of these days I'll fix my NES and see what it was like to play with R.O.B. after all these years. Playing with R.O.B. is basically a challenge because he's so slow. Funny how fast his movements are in Smash. When Ultimate was new before all the DLC came out, R.O.B. and Wolf were like the 2 easy win buttons. Extremely easy to pick up and wreck people with. R.O.B. because he just let's you do absolutely everything. I didn't try him in previous games because Brawl I was too busy 100%ing, and I got it too late. Smash 4 I stopped playing him because people thought he was cheap, and this was before I learned that people will literally hate any character any you play if you do well enough. Also, I had a few too many matches where I really felt like combo food, and at the time. Playing Ridley in Ultimate gave me the mindset of being okay with being combo food, because I will get the revenge later, so that helped me a lot with R.O.B. in Ultimate, even though people usually don't get too close when I play R.O.B. in Ultimate. Playing characters 1 month at a time currently. Planning on R.O.B. in April, so I look forward to trying him again. That said, I don't see how he could do well against the best player I play against, who is a Pikachu main that moves like ESAM. I know he'll just exploit R.O.B.'s bad disadvantage constantly and just not let me play neutral at all.
While I do think ROB is broken there's a few things I don't like about him. His movement is kind of stiff and it sucks getting combo'd so hard. He's obviously very strong which is why I did well with him but he's not my soul character.
I bring my switch to the tournament and put it in the dock. It's then my responsibility to remember to save the games which I'm not always the best at haha.
I am still having a character crisis 5+ years later. I would say ROB and Banjo are my mains but in a session I usually only play 2-3 games with both of them and tend to play random mostly. Granted I dont play ultimate anymore and just melee but its the same thing with melee except with Peach and Marth in melee. But anyways with ROB I was playing in a tournament and went 1-2 and played ROB for most of the games. At the end of it I thought "ROB is bad, he is way too slow" Of course I knew I was wrong but I was trying to convince myself the character was bad so when my friends claimed I played a top tier I could wholeheartedly say they were wrong. Of course now we know ROB is a high tier but back in 2018 it was debatable. However Banjo is not a top tier but I get more crap for playing Banjo than ROB which sucks since the day they announced Banjo was coming I said "I am gonna be a banjo main" but because my friend moan and cry everytime I play Banjo I have just stuck with my old Random habit.
That sucks I'm sorry your friends complain about you playing Banjo. The truth is there's always going to be haters for any character so you just need to play who you want and ignore them if possible.
@@TuesdayTastic Its not a big deal. If it keeps everyone happy then I am fine limiting how often I play Banjo. Plus it just means my banjo is too good for them lol. I think that is the main issue. Getting 3 stocked multiple games in a row is not fun.
Pikachu is a little harder to pick up than ROB imo. Pikachu has a more advanced combo game and getting K.O.s is significantly more difficult. You're not going to struggle in disadvantage but I think the ease of use is in ROBs favor
if someone says ROB isn't a top tier, they play ROB.
Or they play mr gnw
I actually had a line very close to this in the original script lol
The rob agenda

Getting your ass scrambled by Scend in pools is the LAN King special. It's a when, not an if.
ROB is really fun once you learn their tools, nearly every move in their kit works well with eachother
Except fair
@@henkiestudios5117fair is the dedicated fast aerial. Its just there to cover things that every other move cant lmao.

Babe wake up new Tuesday video just dropped
THAT's what ROB means?! more like Robotic Operating Terror
R.O.T.
I'd love for you to try Lucina, Shulk, Ness, or Terry!
Cool idea for a series, I don't play Smash anymore but when I did I sure could never ever decide on a main
It's too much fun playing the game in so many different ways
Started with chroy video and really love the format very bingeable content
That is one of the best things a youtuber can hear, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
After you do mii brawler, you should do mii brawler again, but with a different moveset.
seconded. mii brawler is fun as shit with bottom tier specials.
Can't wait for jigglypuff... when she comes
I think you found your main dog

I plahyed against buffalo on elite smash and it was not fun with the lag lmao. I won but got a very clutch jump read on him at 80% with pyra upsmash.
captain falcon?
Rob is fun
ROB is an interesting fellow, because he’s not easy, but he’s also really not hard to play
The hard part of playing ROB is playing Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the family of Nintendo Switch systems.
Robotic operating buddy is easy bro
6:38 WTF

Scend is cracked at this children's party game.
If you don’t mind answering how do you get the games from the tournament

If R.O.B is one of the most infamous and easy to pick up top tiers, so is Pikachu. Pichu is a whole other story.

You should try playing isabelle
I'll add her to the list. She won't show up on the next poll but she will be on the one after that.
