Gotta love how the guy just comes in and takes your table. Like, "Yeah, you've been taking our stuff from our houses for years! Not so funny when the shoe is on the other foot, huh!? Look at me. I'm the adventurer now."
Yeah but does it add to the fun of this game? It looks rather annoying.
@@foreignuser_ This only happens when you have low reputation with the Bandits. It's a punishment, so it kinda has to be annoying.
@@95kos My issue is that the game is so unpolished that when it happens, we don't have any clue why or how to stop it.
I am laughing so hard when the guy actually stole the table
@@foreignuser_if you are annoyed by challenges, perhaps you should pick a different hobby like stealing candy from babies or.. actually I'm struggling to think of anything that has zero challenges. Maybe Russian roulette? That's a pretty simple game, and I don't think you'll be annoyed by the challenges posed.
Not for long anyway..
I'm kinda blown away by how much detail there is in the faction system, and how it all affects events. That's pretty cool.
Personally, I found it pretty bothersome cause the tutorial doesn't prepare for you for it.
I've been following this game since you covered it in early acces. The only thing that makes me hesitate is the complaints of many bugs this game has on steam😢
same for me... I'll wait a week and see
Haven't ran into a bug yet myself. Enjoying it. Lots of choices to make as well. Do you help the church and make enemies w the witch's? Or help the witches and make enemies w the big man in the sky
I've had it for a while and most the bugs have been patched out I think
love this game but yir.... many bugs:(
I bought it after the previous review and the amount of bugs are insane. The concept of the game is great but dev is really weird. It has had massive game breaking bugs for over a year that never got fixed. You can lose your safe deep in a run for no reason, or they die because they simply refuse to eat etc. There's a crazy amount of bugs that make it quite unplayable in a fun way.
SPLATTERCAT!!! Thank you for making these videos. I've been watching all the latest and trying to catch up on your older stuff.
I love this channel and the light you bring to less known games. I am commenting on this video because it's the latest, but i love all the work you do.
My uncles father was a rum runner as well, he lived on the island of St. Pierre Miquelon which is between Canada and the US off the coast of Nfld, it is owned by France, so he used to run booze between Canada and the US.
I have been waiting for you to cover this again so thank you so much for it. Love the video.
THIS GAME IS AMAZING! Last time I played it wasn't done and I see it just dropped the full release so I will 1000% be going back
I like the smooth animations, design and lighting is awesome!❤
Folks don't mind grind if the primary game play loops are engaging, preferably fun as well. But I think that usually entails regular unlocks the improve your interactions with said loops, like new weapons and perks.
Fun fact the red and white barber shop signs represented the bloodied cloth that would usually hang outside there shop.
Why
I got this game since you originally covered it, really enjoyed it, and then haven't played it since then. It was charming and I enjoyed it, I just haven't felt the desire to play it again.
But it was pretty cozy and relaxing.
I like this game. I bought it a while ago. I'm Looking forward to full release!
Love the channel Splat!!!
Thanks for the impressions & commentary, Splatt!
Ironically, I've been drawn more and more by these types. Very little in the way of frustrating bugs, stutters, DMCA protection, and the new normal of resource grinding. I'll take it!
Why is that ironically?
Obviously because they don't have frustrating bugs, stutters, DMCA protection (whatever that is), and ther new normal if resource grinding.
Sorry, I'm trolling. Don't mind me. Im actually just hear to find out what DMCA protection is and whether I want it or not.
12:15 We are very understanding in that regard, to not be so would be duplicitous after all.
I forgot about this game, I enjoy watching you play it, I hope you do more. Ty Mr Cat!
This game seems pretty charming, ill probably get it!
I also love the bonus story about the rumrunning family and the scary uncle xD
Thanks for showcasing! ^^
12:30 this was why the guy in the beginning stole your table. he lost his land, so you lose your table. lol
A barber was often a surgeon, occasionally a dentist, and not necessarily considered a "healer". Monks and priests of Europe were told by the pope that they could no longer do ANY harm as they were the surgeons of that time. Doctors around that time didn't do the messy stuff because they were more focused on the academic side and considered surgery barbaric and not medicine. Barbers were then the de facto surgeons because the monks/priests that were cloistered in their monasteries doing these surgeries often needed tonsure haircuts cuts and other religion-required hair trimming. Since the barbers were there, they would often assist with the surgeries. Once the monks stopped performing surgery, barbers began doing them for everyone. The barbers weren't exactly good nor were they safe, but at times they were necessary. Eventually, academic doctors came around to surgery and barbers stopped being allowed to perform it because of how bad they were and how deadly it often was to fall under the barbers knife. Sorry, just some weird trivia that came into my mind when you made that sign for that guy.
Thanks for awesome reviews!!
The demo a long time ago was interesting, thanks for the update !
This looked fun last time, and it looks even better now. I'll certainly be playing it once I'm done with my current game(s).
So happy to see the game didnt die. I bought it last time you showcased it but it was really lacking. I will have to update and play again
I got it because of you the first time you reviewed it!
played it for few hour yesterday - quiet empty, grindy
art style and music are good, a lot of funny references
Sounds amazing. Reminds me of what Storybricks wanted to do with EQNext.
I've been playing this since you showed it to us. It's a good game. 👍
This game looks awesome, I just bought it
Gives some chillax Stardew Valley vibes. Thanks Splatty!
i also recommend "While the Iron's Hot" i played the demo and will definitely buy the full game
Splat did cover the demo so I imagine we'll see an update when the game is closer to complete or on its 1.0.
@@ts25679 it should come out Dez. 5 but they already delayed it once
That was hilarious... about the table 🤣🤣
Another holiday, another game to get
Oooh, a game I own that I didn't know was finally hitting 1.0! The reputation system felt really wrong the last time I played. Hopefully that's fixed
that opening intro had me rolling great job splat
Splat, you did well on supplying both sides, France would lose the war. It's not only written, it's tradition.
Been waiting on this
Did anybody else notice the resemblance of the "suspicious brewer" (at around 24:30) with a certain Heisenberg/Walter White character? :D
forget aout it...Splattercat mentioned it in the video :P
The monastery was acadamia, and its economics came from medieval agriculture under the Serf System.
Our table….
Blacksmith rpg count me in woot woot 🎉
eh, he just stole my table... rofl, god that cracked me up
Hey Splat! Quick question, what is your all-time favorite game? Thanks man!
I love it, the video starts out with a npc steals his table. Ha Ha.
I got this in alpha and it's pretty fun in my opinion.
Did that guy just stole my table?
Lmao
Charming af
Such beautiful pixel art but the mismatch in pixel size of some sprites is KILLING ME
Do you play longer than a couple of seasons? Last time I tried it the game ended after a few seasons.
lmao. what a weird intro when someone just walk by into your house and steal your table, not even running ;)
Yup KCD did not have enough blacksmithing.
I refunded this one due to lack of QoL. UI is a little cumbersome, and minor issues tend to add up overtime.
Early game special orders come in really fast, so you need some gold stocked up to buy special items needed. A chest is always behind your merchant stall by default, which is always furthest from your mines/warehouses. Commands to cook food don't get followed up with eating, meaning you need at least 2 clicks every time your dudes want to eat a meal. Meals can be left on tables for no benefit, they'll rot if you leave them there too long. Faction maladies can be pretty bad, and the tutorial doesn't prepare you for them. Most first runs are doomed due to a lack of micromanagement of that system, eg letting France win would have made Stone leave, which screws over your playthrough extremely hard.
See man, the Brits reward a man who fights for himself...as long as it assists the crown of course. The French, ahh I dunno man they betrayed the Templar order way back when so I think I know where my stance is. I kinda like games like this when they have good missions that affect the future and dialogue that's both simple but complex.
by almost never you mean never never
Dammit splat, I read text in games in your voice now.
What's with the video before that? This with the flying islands?
If you don't put locks on your doors you're kind of asking for your tables to be stolen imo
when blacksmith master comes out its going to absolutely eclipse this game.
You say "What's up guys and gals" and the beginning of every video, you should just surprise everyone by saying SUP FUCKERS one day. That would make my day.
I really, really want a good blacksmithing game. But unfortunately, everyone who attempts it tries to combine it with something else. Either you have to dungeon delve for your own supplies, or like this you have to manage a colony or something. I just want a game where you smith, and the game does it well.
there was a 3ds game, i think, that was *japan only* sadly, i can't remember what its called, but it was along those lines. you'd tap the mold to hammer and then you could refine it and all that. just blacksmithing, nothing superfluous
I come from that culture of Appalachian moonshiners myself. NC and VA. Used to drink White lightning and sweet Southern ice tea, Cheerwine, Pepsi or Mountain Dew. Flavored is okay but none of those cream based flavors.. Those sippin creams are weak. Those are for women. I want something that puts hair on your chest, and your face in the dirt.. You have to know your limit. But now I have to order it if I want some because I live in Eastern Europe now.. So I have to buy that commercial junk that's made for the masses. It's not bad, it's just not the same as moonshine made in the woods on a remote mountain by people that have had the knowledge passed down in their family for generations.. That's the good stuff.
I bought this game after your last review and have a lot of hours in this game but I personally find it really weird you make another video on it.
It has a lottttttt of bugs, which have never been fixed, the quest lines snd debt is very shallow and not as deep as promised by the dev. Feels very surface level still.
Drinking game: take a shot every time splat says charming
🖤
ma men!
I am HOWLING that the French, bandits, and witches are all enemies of the protagonist in this game. I'm not sure why hahaha
it looks nice but very expensive in Brazil, not worth it.
Mixed reviews, guess Ill wait a year or two to see if it changes..
I thought this was abadonned
It's *BY* accident!!! Sorry but it's every video 😅😝❤️
Hmm I tried this demo and it was okayyyyy but very "gamey" ... kinda got over it very quickly.
Just replayed this and did not have a good time. Too many bugs, not enough balance. Shame, I really wanted to like it.
Wait a few months for patches ;-)

I don't understand the lower side portion of Arthur's face. It looks to me like he has only half a mouth plus a sack-like tumor, that is connected to his nose. All other faces look normal to me. Oo
Great game made terribly by bugs. It's overwhelming and game-breaking.
Just wait a month ;-)
I bought it immediately on release. Unfortunately.... It's unacceptably unoptimized for a 2d game. It should not be lagging my $1000 system, as a 2d game. Oh, and its bug-ridden.
Had relative fun through to the end of the game, with those complaints just being annoyances.... and then the game just got stuck on the final smithing tournament. It wouldn't progress. Had nothing to do in the tournament after 10 minutes at 4x speed.
Giant blue balls right there. Obnoxious.
Sup sup
would not reccommend this game currently for 20$. this is more of a 10$ game
It looks repetitive?
It's way better than it looks.
Terraria vibes with hitting steel.
Don't take other people's tables.
Nice game but it's a bug fest. Not at all a 1.0
Haven't had a single bug after 4+ hours here
nah, supporting the british over the french is one of the few times supporting the british is the right choice.
First!
Dude I love your content, but, the 100 Years War was fought between England and France. English and British are 2 very, very, very different things.Everytime you said British I wanted to scream.
The guy walking in and stealing something from you with no indicator or alert and no way to do anything about it just makes this game feel unfinished. No thanks.
Is the internet improving spelling? Are people spelling better?
Yeah developers are russians
And?
@@GameTimeWhy Some people think that it's a bad idea to buy anything made by Russians because they pay taxes to their government ;-)
@@GameTimeWhy ...and that explains why the game has such a development cycle I guess💁♂
Full of bugs, weird dev
Not British, but English. Please don’t lump the Scots in with this terrible war.
Order prices are lower? When material costs are higher? Like hell. I'll eat temporary cost increases in the interests of being a good neighbor, but I'll be damned if I'm going to lose my shirt by lowering my prices to boot. I'd rather shutter the smithy for the duration and focus on my own interests instead.
