I have been making this for years 😊 I use the ones in the bag and let them soak in water for a day .. The next day I put olive oil on a big frying pan and cook it on there until they get golden brown and I season with a little salt.. That's all .. Really great snacks.. I will add some seasonings next time I make it again.. Thank U for the video ❤
Thank you lady. A great snacking idea. We can even roast the chickpeas on stove top in a pan at a low heat. I will do it soon. Thank you again. God bless.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you for this recipe. I have been missing this low-key snack that is found quite easily in my husband’s country of Jordan now I can actually make it myself in the United States.
Oooh...harissa! The seasonings sound wonderful! I'll have to give this recipe a try. And thank you for that tip on drying the chick peas before roasting!
Thank You!! I’m going to make a version of this and put it in a spinach salad, to go with my lamb and middle eastern rice pilaf. So thank you. When the idea came to me I was like “I’m sure someone has a crispy chickpea recipe. Lol Hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.
I would love to try with those spices! A week or so ago, I was running low on food at the house and desperate. So I opened a can, poured out the liquid and then spread them on a cookie sheet. Nothing else. Popped them in at 450 for about 20 minutes. They came out darker, hard and crunchy. Delicious! They reminded my of Corn Nuts. I ate the whole can, have done it again and just got more.
If you don’t have a deep dish, use your cake pans. They are very versatile beyond making cakes. I have all sizes up to 14” and they store easily nested. 10” works great for 1 can of chick peas. No loose beans.
Made them & soooo delicious, thank you!!! (I didn’t have those spices on hand, tho, so I separated it into 3 bowls & did one extra salt, one paprika & cumin, & one garlic & lime. Yummy!!
Snack for day's?? Give me a good movie, beer and that tray of chickpeas and watch... Good video. I'll try this soon. Thank you.. p.s., I'm doing mine Cajun style.
I have been following you for a short time, maybe 1 month and I asked about Mediterranean food and she suggested you! She has been following you for some time. I enjoy your videos!!
very clear and useful. Please remember your international audience. 400F is 200C or Gas Mark '6', 1 quart ~= 1litre etc . I can't wait to try these :-) Thank You!
@@elizabethshort6347 Yes for sure! :) I love white beans the most for this, any size or kind really, also add a tiny bit of panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch (+ oil and spices like in this recipe), they are so yummy.
I love this video... Editing of this video was great also... ... The only thing was, the background music was a little too loud, making it hard to hear you at times. Thank you so much for sharing this video. "YUM"
Thanks Judi for the kind feedback! Yes we’re aware of the music volume in this video and it’s a bit too late to adjust that. But we’ve taken note and are keeping the music volume down for future videos. Have a great day!
Just trying it now . The oven temp is about 200 deg Celsius for us here in Australia 🇦🇺. I used Herbamare salt ..and morrocan seasoning with some coriander seed powder as well .(after it comes out )I’m sure it’ll come out very yummy 😋 thank you 😊 ps Mine didn’t turn out crunchy unfortunately I think I mayve put too much oil in it
Your seasoning sounded great! Yes... possible too much oil. Not sure if you did this, but starting with dried chickpeas rather than canned often helps get more crunch.
Thank you... for this wonderfull recepie... If moved into air tight container... At room temperature... For how many days it will be crispier and of good taste...
Keep in mind that depending on your serving size, this can have quite a bit of calories. I love olive oil and have nothing against fats. 3 tbsp of olive oil = 360 calories. Still, this is DEFINITELY a more wholesome and better for you snack than any processed snacks!
I've made them without oil. They crisp nicely but store in an open container otherwise they turn soggy. I don't use oil, prefer to get my fats from the whole food vs just the fat that comes from oil without the fiber and nutrients from the whole food olives, avocados, coconuts and nuts.
prior to putting them in the oven I put garlic, onion powder, salt, and a little cayenne pepper on them...to each his own..you can also make them sweet with honey or maple syrup...
There are many ways to change things up here. We like to roast them first to get the most crunch and to avoid burning the seasonings
