I simmer dates on stove until mushy and blend with a pinch of Cinnamon. Best Sweetener! Like apple butter. So good to sweeten yogurt. Thanks for the healthy snack and desserts!
Recently made these. They’re a perfect on-the-go healthy treat. I made 4 different ones: one with chia seeds, one with cacao nibs. One with dried cranberries, and a really decadent one with chocolate and butterscotch chips. I had enough left over to then combine all 4 doughs to make ‘everything’ balls. Yummy!
My review no one asked for: Made these, didn't have any flax seeds, so I used vanilla protein powder instead. Added a tsp of cocoa powder and some dark chocolate nibs too. Used almond butter instead of the peanut one and didn't add any other oil: the mixture was oily and sticky enough. For some reason, when freshly rolled, the texture of the balls is kinda odd - too sticky and like they are about to melt or fall apart. I was leaving for a picnic and in a rush, so I put half of into the freezer for later and baked half of them for 10 minutes in 185 C oven. It was a good idea - they were harder on the outside which kept them in shape, but still super soft on the inside, and the taste was amazing. Not sure why, but the ones I put into freezer taste even better. I can bite into them even right after I take them out and I love the texture - like cookie dough ice cream. Gonna make more one day, but it's so hard to have just one! Have a lovely day everyone!
a big hug to you !! your energy balls are just wonderful...i have done them 3 times and each time, i added something new in order to please my son's tastes...dark chocolate mixed with dried cranberries or blueberries...he never took the time to eat breakfast before and now he is going for it every morning and he leaves with a couple of energy balls everytime he rides his bike or go for a hike.. thank you again
I made these energy balls yesterday and they are a hit. I made them quite large so one is enough with coffee in the morning. I love your recipes. They are simple and full of flavor so it don't feel like "diet" food.
I put mine in the oven for about 10 minutes to give them a harder outer shell. Much better this way otherwise they're too sticky. I also put much less oil and added wildflower honey. Taste delicious.
Thanks for the idea. I was also think about how to reduce the stickiness. I was thinking, maybe rolling them in some oats or sunflower-seeds at the end, for a "non-sticky"-shell.

Wow..these look great! I was wondering....is the flaxseed necessary? What can I use as a substitute for the flaxseed? Can't wait to make them :) Hugs from Norway :)
I'm not sure what you mean by "necessary." Flaxseed is a good source of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a plant-based omega-3 fatty acid. This is important because your body does not produce this essential fatty acid and you must get it from a food source. In the video, he said that he was including the flaxseed for this reason. Hugs right back at you!
Put these ingredients into a recipe calorie calculator and it gave totals of greater than 3,000 calories. Just something to bear in mind when you portion these up!
He said he made about 20 of them in the batch, which bring them to 150 calories each. A filling snack with significant protein and fiber for 150 calories? Excellent.
Hi, very nice recipe. One thing that I want to share is you can roast the dry ingredients with oil or ghee(clarified butter) the taste and aroma will become awesome
Thank you soooooo much! I made date balls yesterday before I came across your recipe and thanks to you I now learn that I have to convert the dry dates into a date paste first I also added coconut to my version.👌👏👏👏

@@loislanefrancisco I made some savoury ones too with tuna and herbs. They were a bit dry though but I will persevere.
I have not been feeling well lately. These certainly were easy and tasty :) i used cashew butter and added some vanilla extract. Didnt have to use my hands to mix, just fold and push repeatedly with a spatula and it comes together easily within a few minutes. I just put them in the fridge! Cant eat to eat them cold and cut :)
Add orange skin shredded. It tastes so delicious. l made half of peanut butter and half of almond butter. I ate all in less than hour😱😱😱😱.
That's 3431 kcals, that's more than a average person needs in a day 🙊 enjoying food is important but some things are only healthy in the right amount 😅
Why not they would be beautiful!
Interesting!
They're called Ladoo, and have been a staple treat in indian cuisine for many centuries. This variant simply adds instant oats to the mix, and replaces ground cashews with peanut butter.

HA! Same here. Making them very soon.

Your voice is so soothing and your recipes simple and easy to make. Your videos are short and to the point.
Thank you.
Hi Anita, not necessary at all. Flaxseed is not the best for those who are hormone sensitive.
I want to make these today. I don't have dates; I need to start buying them----but I have local honey. So all is not lost! You're amazing!
I'm going to roll mine desiccated coconut. Thanks!
Hi Linda! That would be great idea! Thanks for checking it out!
Great video! Easy to follow, and your Knowledge of the English language is exceptional, well done!!!
These look like the energy balls Charlie made on its always sunny
That episode actually reminded me to make these lol
Best recipe ever. Thank you
Put these ingredients into a recipe calorie calculator and it gave totals of greater than 3,000 calories. Just something to bear in mind when you portion these up!
Yes and sugar load of dates
He said he made about 20 of them in the batch, which bring them to 150 calories each. A filling snack with significant protein and fiber for 150 calories? Excellent.
Need to check out the whole 'calories in calories out' thing. It's not accurate. Whole foods Trump's all
we made these today Sasha and they were absolutely delicious. Thank you !
Liked it before watching it completely!!! Lol

These are called laddoos in India. They are a traditional sweet snack.
No these have nothing in common laddos, laddos are super sweet and not healthy as all.
Ladoo contains Ghee, sugar, beans, jaggery, gram flour and more like Cardamom ... just because it's round does not make it Ladoo 🤣
Thanks for sharing! What laddoos are traditionally made of?
These are called dry fruit laddos in India where it creatively add dates and other dry fruits and other innovative snack ideas
That must be what the scammers over there eat all day when they call my house 4 to 6 times a day.
Hi, very nice recipe. One thing that I want to share is you can roast the dry ingredients with oil or ghee(clarified butter) the taste and aroma will become awesome
hey nice recipe....do we know what the calories are for 1 ball?
thanks :)
Sprinkle or roll in coconut flakes when done... yum!!
About how many calories per ball?
Thank you soooooo much! I made date balls yesterday before I came across your recipe and thanks to you I now learn that I have to convert the dry dates into a date paste first I also added coconut to my version.👌👏👏👏
Hi! Thanks for checking it out! These dates in the form of paste are great sweetener for many no bake and bake goods. This sweet paste could be made with other dried fruits as well.
Damn it wasn’t Charlie Kelly doing a Tutorial
