4:58 wow, the Pixel 8 pro actually made the trees have leafs again. AI is taking us to another level, I guess.
Pics aren't taken at the same season lol , same thing happens at 5:42
they wrote in captions that the samples were taken at different times
Pixel wins
Both is good, still better than iPhone
😂
Thank you very much for that, it has helped in quite a few ways. I was trying to research the phones and the usual reviewers were not helping.
What portrait mode game was that at 3:30? If I had one of these phones I’d circle and search lol.
Guys thanks for including human samples in the web review
It really helps to see which one renders human subjects naturally
Both phones are very good , I have both phones , for my daily driver I use the pixel, it's lighter, not as big and easier to hold in the hand , the form factor is better, and I like software better, it's very simple. If you're a gamer , and taking zoom photos the ultra is better , but for the price the pixel is a bargain.
And which phone's 1x and ultra wide cameras better?
It never makes sense to me for people to even have two *latest flagship* phones unless they have too much free time or a reviewer.
@@rrsharizam The other one is probably work phone. Not many countries offers dual sim capabilities.
@@rrsharizamor they use one phone for personal purposes and other phone for business / work purposes/ only in office.
@@LTS25623 I know people who carry one midrange and one flagship. Or one old and one new flagship. But I don't understand people who uses two phones which are both newest and flagship.
Please review Knox security platform of Samsung
S24 Ultra vs OnePlus 12 please!
watching from my redmi 3s prime from 2016
I had that phone. That is beast that time, snapdragon processor and incredible camera.
Waiting for Honor pad 9 review.
I have both these phones and I switched back to the pixel. The Pixel is lighter and more comfortable to hold and the camera is really good. I just wish it charged faster and had more processing power.
Same here, and for software experience on pixel is just better
@@Lion72320 The software definitely better!
Same here! Can't stand Samsung UI and cameras
Why do you have both?
@@rrsharizam Because at times the Samsung is more versatile. It's just too cumbersome to carry everywhere.
This comparison is very weird. You make them at different times and when we see that 4K comparison the sky is totally different, dude! Even selfie videos were made very different times and that is not very trusting for us.
#facts even though you clearly mentioned it. Still a comparison is supposed to be compared during the same darn time, day, and let alone YEAR!!! 😂
@@EllEmm149 🤣 It's supposed to be! Yeah!
@@bobmartin2513 😂
I wonder how bad is the grainy display for everyday use? And does the issue also exist on the S24+?
I have it on my S24+ as well. You can't notice it unless you use your phone in a very dark room at minimum brightness.
You may notice it at lowest brightness, which makes any content barely visible, so you aren't likely to use it that dim anyway. I use auto brightness so I don't notice the grains.
For the price, the grainy display isn't worth it. Considering the previous phone had no such issue
Try to set the settings of asphalt 9 to high fps kinda looks like low fps on video
video is in 30 fps... that's why
A bit of a lazy comparison. Most pictures or videos are not taken at the same time, 5:38 look at the leaves missing from the trees on de S24. At least use the phones at the same time, and take videos and pictures
I really like the anti glare on the S24 Ultra and the screen remains fully visible in full sun. I like larger screens because I take lots of pics and use photos for a garden club magazine so I need the best image representation. I use a case, so holding the device is minimally different.
5:02
The car disappeared for S24?
Stock is better to me so iPhone or pixel. Every Samsung I have owned was sluggish due to their UI on top of android and ran warmer.
Thank you for this video. After seeing all the BS I would have to go through to do a simple transfer of a sim card I know now to NEVER sign up with Metro. With my current carrier it's as simple as taking it out of one phone and putting it in the other.
Nobody talks about the terrible choppiness of the Pixel when asking it to zoom. The stabilization is terrible ! The phone also easily overheats and shuts down the camera a lot. They also say the processor isn't important, but try taking "portrait photos" in series. It stutters a lot. Also, try taking video in direct sunlight. The phone overheats. And using any lens besides the primary lens, suffers from video that stutters.
There's a HUGE difference the reviewers aren't telling you. I returned mine, and went back to my S23 Ultra with a cracked screen. That should tell you something.
And they talk about "stock android." There's almost no difference now. The extra layers that Samsung adds, I missed. Samsung is a very different phone than it was 2 years ago. They don't have nearly the bloat ware they were notorious for.
And these people talking about the Pixel being lighter sounds like paid comments. It's literally a light phone. It's not like these phones weigh pounds. Let's be serious here.
Don't you find it funny he didn't mention any of the Samsungs strengths?
1) the S Pen
2) the pro camera options
3) the higher resolution photos
4) the better zoom and camera
5) how much cooler the Samsung runs
A lot of people need to do their own comparisons and test drives. The "UA-camrs" don't want to bite the hands that feed them -so they have a tendency to gloss over important features to level the playing field.
Samsung all the way!
I'm going to reply back in 12 hours.. I've had GPP8 since day one. Camera does stutter when zooming in but gosh is it ever great. It could be the best experience but honestly, it's just right. I hate all the type-o that happen, would love to have my blackberry again. Never touched an apple phone everr!
I have never had a problem with my Pixel Pro and I know people who have a S24 Ultra and I still choose the Pixel... It's an amazing phone
@@SteelMase I have. And I like the Pixel phone. It just kept overheating.
And it even heats when charging. It's definitely an issue, and has been observed regularly. I'm not the only one by far.
My man I like your evaluation better 👍👍
Where's your evidence that Google monetarily compensated that man for his review? People need to stop with the unfounded accusations of saying that someone got paid for a positive review of a particular item, just because they don't like the item. Some of them do get paid, but unless you know with certainty who did, it's reckless to be so cavalier about something like that.
Very good stuff. Well done.
most other reviewers give the camera edge to the pixel. based off this video 75% of the pictures looked better on the pixel. still dont know which im going to buy, leaning towards the galaxy but idk
I think the fact that you're not talking about the pixel ability to freeze the moment and the S24U shutter lag makes the camera comparison misleading. For fast moving subjects lile kids and pets, pixel is just the best. Do you use these camera in real life? It often feels like you're just taking pictures of the same building across the street. Do you think this is how people use their phone's cameras in real life? How good is the advice and comparison if you're omitting important stuff like that?
Samsung is way either way
@rangerkayla8824 samsung is best
Pixel overpriced not good
Camera not good compares to samsung
Screen

Pixel is just not good when you compare it o samsung
The Pixel is a terrible phone! I returned mine. It overheats. It is also slow to process.images. The battery life isn't great either. All these paid comments. The Pixel needs a modern chip. There's no getting around it.
Asking anything beyond the main camera to record video results in stutters. That's something that is glossed over a lot.
@@backnu Of course Tensor isn't the best, but I was talking about the camera and a specific but important use case and your comment doesn't address that.. Because you don't like what you read doesn't mean it's paid!
@@mscottpilgrim I gave it a shot. It simply kept overheating when taking pictures and videos. I was actually shocked. I love the phone and the design, but the hardware (processor) keeps it from being mid range. I can't tell you how disappointed I am.
Pixel 8 Pro Gang here !!!
😍 Galaxy S24 Ultra ❤
Hi bro
One curious thing in these samples is that the S24 seems to have a lot more distortion, resulting in buildings and subjects sometimes having a warped look. The Pixel is still the clear winner when it comes to the cameras.
I noticed this, too.
Does the Samsung have magic eraser or do you have to pay extra for it.
LOL!
Hello, good afternoon. They called me and I was selected and I won an iPhone. I want to know if it’s real because I didn’t find any celebration on his part.
scam
not all updates from samsung are good. while i like the AI features included with the one ui 6.1 update it removved or broke too many good aspects, functions. example the idiots in charge thought completely revamping how to swipe was an awful move. we've been trained how to swipe one way for years and now? change for the sake of change?! then there's the AOD function they either accidentally broke or again change for changes rational? you can no longer adjust brightness?! an issue that even using "goodlock" can't resolve. so now unless in a near totally dark room it's just not readable, making it almost useless.
I'm not the only one unhappy with this roll out. all you need do is take a quick glance at reddit posts to see the scope of the anger and frustration samsung has created amongst long time loyal customers. all said I'd much rather have fewer updates over a longer time frame so they can both test functionality as well as being afforded more time to gather end user impressions and make any changes prior to a larger rollout i.e. asia updates first then after a period of time other markets.
current daily driver is the S23 ultra. due to the one ui 6.1 update I'm seriously considering jumping ship and going with the pixel when upgrading later this year. I've been a loyal samsung customer for a decade but samsung did thiis to themselves in a race to push out updates that cause more angst than positive impressions.
I have both but i find myself using my pixel 8 pro much more. Just offers me a better software experience.
you don't.
Why do you even have both?
Lol no
@@rrsharizam I just love Android phones so every year I buy the latest pixel and latest Samsung. Last year I spent more time with the s23 ultra because the pixel 7 pro was a horrible phone. Got hot a lot, frozen up on me a couple of times, network kept on dropping.
@@Lion72320the pixel 8 pro also heats up a lot and shuts down the camera too often.
Alert - the S24 Ultra claims 2600 nits brightness. Have you tested this? Details please.
Compare both the phones as same time. What the meaning of comparing phones in different times?
Bought s24 ultra titanium blie on 11 march❤
U guys r getting more n more lazy in your video… what is the meaning of comparison photo or video if u took it at different timing?! U need to take it both at same timing so we can know what is the colour n contrast especially the sky or clouds colours or saturation… Just look at your comparison video of both where the Pixel have nice cloud colour & saturation but Ultra r all just blue n grainy… it’s not even a fair comparison at all… Pls don’t b lazy as u r one of the reputable site for mobile phones or just totally give up n don’t disappoint us guys…
Please come with moto edge 50 pro review. I trust only GSMARENA
I'm surprised GSMArena didn't detect the flaws the S24U has, it shows that they are working from a timeline or deadline standard not actual day to day use, by having both phones I can confirm that the S24U has a worse main and wide camera, simply because of the over sharpening which was pointed out here as extra sharpness, it is not inherent sharpness or resolved detail, it's over sharpening and it looks bad when cropping in the image or pixel peeping as most say. Plus DNG or RAW images are much worse than the P8P, Samsung still processes RAW very badly which results in a loss of details and weird artifacts and noise in the image, plus 200MP high res mode is a joke, it can be a hit or miss again due to over processing of the image.
The other issue is HDR quality, I personally suffered in Instagram photos where it crushed the shadows and darkened the image, like someone cranked up the contrast and shadows which was a deal breaker for me and made me go back to Pixel 8P, there was no way to turn it off except to use power saving mode which isn't a solution by any standard. If you don't believe me watch Android Authority coverage on the matter, just type android authority s24 ultra HDR and it should show up on UA-cam.
I wish GSMArena reviews would cater to the pro community and bring photographers to assess image quality to find out the truth, I highly advise watching PetaPixel's comparison on UA-cam to look at real photographers comparing these flagships. There are other issues like the bloat ware apps, pre installed Meta system apps, lack of sync with Google photos (onedrive only), etc .. but these flaws weren't what made me go back.
Don't get me wrong S24U is a strong contender and better than the pixel in every aspect (call quality, battery, speed, practicality features, pen, etc ..) except Camera performance and HDR quality, for me those were deal breakers, for you they might not be, I just wanted to point it out so people would be aware about these issues, you might not even notice them if your casually using the phone, but I do notice over processed images and the fakeness they produce does bother me.
I don't have any of them but what did you say i agree with you i notice samsung's over sharpness.and I don't like it and i think pixel is better in every aspect except of gaming this is only one place that i think samsung is better.#Pixelisthebest
Watching on my pixel 8 pro
I'm a fan of Google Pixel than Samsung, Because of Stock Android.
5:50 "Samples shot at different times" Haha, I was like: WTF, S24U is the Fallout Phone.
Watching from my Galaxy S24 ultra ❤
I will try both of these phones, if I have enough money ofc.
I guess it depends in which ecosystem one wants. I try to not use Google services, so I have Samsungs, my Samsung account works with my hotmail and from Google I use mostly UA-cam and Maps. For somebody that uses Google I imagine it can be bothersome to have a redundancy of apps.
The grainy display at low brightness is definitely a deal breaker.
Im gonna guess he sold the pixel 8 pro or it wasnt his whwn he took the phots and videos and then when he vot the s24 months later, he tried to take recreate the same pics the pixel took using rhe s24 ultra.
personally I'm not even trying to spend $500 on an android phone anymore. I just don't care enough about any of these things you guys nitpick I would rather save some cash. Ultra phones with ultra prices and weak battery isn't my thing.
One of the few channels mentioning the grain issue
Galaxy S24 ultra Gather here show some love 💕😘
when you do the photo comparisons, maybe stop showing us that same old ugly snail image and find something new? seriously how many years and same old same old, just 'rinse & repeat.' just a suggestion as your review format could do for a little freshening up after all these years. that said i do appreciate the work and effort you put into testing devices. sincerely thanks
I have sammy, it’s really bad don't believe these reviews. The pic is dull and artifical. Literally most objects edges are pasted to an illusion of a picture. Mostly noticeable in gras areas you can see suddenly the trees and other object rendering is just a bad copy paste photoshop from few years ago.
Then you are either lying or have a defective unit
@@JamesThomas-dn6ee nope just grab another pixel or even iphone, compare the pics, Galaxy just makes up the pixels as it pleases. I have had Samsung phones for years starting from s21 to now s23u. How is this even a question?
Galaxy S24 Ultra for sure

Stupid comparison. S24 ultra all day. Better in almost every department
Thanks for pointing out grains in low brightness in Samsung display.. Its also an old school 8 bit display with no Dolby Vision..
Also I dont think S24 Ultra is a direct competition for other Android flagships.. Reason is that massive 79mm width body that has to accommodate a big S Pen in it!.. Also most unique is its poky design thats hard to manage or pocket when compared to others..
Body width of competing flagships:-
Pixel 8 Pro - 76.5 mm
Xiaomi 14 Ultra - 75.3 mm
Oppo Find X7 Ultra - 76.2 mm
Vivo X100 Pro - 75.3 mm
Samsung S24 Plus - 75.9 mm
So S24 Ultra is a love it or hate it form factor..
Android experience is so much better in case of Pixel. Despite weaker cpu it is optimized by Google so no wonder. Hardwarewise - S24 is much better.
Samsung s24 ultra awesome.
The beast goes to s24 ultra.
Tried both. For camera you go to pixel. For everything else go to galaxy

You guys waste so much time on small stuff and then spend way too little time on important stuff.
Who cares about their sound score, benchmark, gaming performance, ip rate etc. You can just show them all very quickly in a single picture. These phones are all about the camera nowadays, and software too. Show many more photos, you always shoot the same effing places. Include some new scenes, challenging backlights, hdr scenes, indoor lowlight conditions etc. You only say "this phone has one ui" and thats it. Explain the gimmicks and the experience and ui specific special features. It has been extremely boring to watch your reviews. It's like the same review for the 10000000th time. When you review the cheapest or the most expensive phone, everything literally feels the same. Same sentences, same pics. Impossible to get a personal feeling of how that phone would feel. No help at all when trying to decide on one. You need to stop with this " lab like tests under the same conditions" because honestly it's just not valuable at all. Watching a 15 year old kid talking about his personal experience with the phone does so much more than watching your soulless comparison sheet video.
Lmao ouch!!!. To be honest, I have followed these guys for years and I like how real they keep it however, I do agree with your comment to some extent. Their content remains the same boring and unchanged and they really need to up their game
I literally read a similar criticism earlier today about people losing interest in phone reviews because they're usually little more than fancy spec overviews.
You can actually unsubscribe or watch other channels instead. You have a choice. Meanwhile I like this channel presentation style and delivery.
agreed... it ain't a review if it don't got opinions .. specs are already easy enough to glance at on any website... we need to know how everything translates for the real life user
Tensor chip is last all across the board in 2024 🤷
Not with a.i
Idk why ppl even think of this comparison. Pixel is trash period. It's a no Brainer, only an idiot would pick pixel 8 over S24 Ultra for the same price. Especially here in India, pixels are overpriced and under deliver. The G3 is so shit that it drains battery and overheats in the tropical weather. It gives way worse battery output than testing shown in videos as real life conditions are more hotter in tropical regions
our home has been filled with Samsung devices for years. my wife has the s24 ultra, I have the s23 ultra, tab s9 ultra, watch six classic, watch four, three Samsung televisions, etc. but we aren't moronic "fanboys" be it Apple or Samsung. anyone who denigrates, puts down others for what they use or want and then for 'icing on the cake' uses unnecessary nasty worded comments towards others?
it's very possible it's a translation glitch or it could be just a small person with an oversized ego that needs be fed. if the latter maybe consider taking it down a notch and be more respectful to both the creators of content and those reading comments. if however it comes down to a simple mistranslation my apologies, as to a native English speaker it genuinely comes off as pure unfiltered vitriol.
FYI in regards to battery performance and heat. there are many pixel end users in places such as Arizona or Nevada for example where days can get up 49C and perform just fine considering the genuine scorching heat. phone batteries don't care about humidity e.g. "real feel index" unlike us humans. yes batteries are affected by extreme heat but more so by cold as any Canadiancan attest to. taking into account temperatures alone, unless you live in nw India your "tropical areas" aren't as hot as many other areas of the world not classified as tropical.
granted while we whine about these first world problems here thankfully we're not a third world country with rivers treated as open sewers, air thick with pollutants, millionaires living in ritzy high rises adjacent to slums where children go hungry, etc. there's something not right when we complain about batteries when too many are concurrently struggling for the basic necessities of life. my bad got off on a little rant there.
@mikenichols3849 idk man you've taken it a little too seriously. But yea I agree the words I've used might not have been appropriate but I didn't think this much of it damn. Btw no, the usage of words were intentional as you must know India is world's second largest English speaking country and most of us here know it as good as our native language. And no the comment was not targeted on the creator but on Google as a company.
Speaking of third-world country, over 9 million iphones have been sold in India as of last year. So the thing is yea India is one of the largest market for smartphones and it will keep on growing as people's budget increases, county develops and people buy more expensive phones.
Yes, it's a huge problem if you're spending + $1000 on a smartphone and it gives you shitty results. My friends have pixel 7 and 8, i know a guy who has 8 pro, and they're just not happy with it. Plus, idk if you know it but Google has tendency to roll out an update and fuck up the phone lol. Mkbhd had made a video on it. Who wants to have such a rough experience after paying thousands of dollars.
Maybe low key this comment is giving the vibes of a toxic samsung fan boy lol but that doesn't change the fact that currently Google pixels are shit. Especially here, they provide 0 value. Even the service infrastructure is shit compared to other companies. And regarding network, it also depends on region. By that I mean, you must know India is a huge country so the 5G coverage isn't so good every where or sometimes it's weak in some places. So when you're constantly switching places or live in an area where 5G is little too weak, your chip tends to work a lot, which will drain your battery even more. Here, the thing about efficiency I said above comes into picture. Snapdragon is just miles ahead of Exynos/Tensor in terms of this. The tensor just sucks up more juice.
Speaking of slums huh, go watch Tyler oliviera lol (and many other creators covered the topic tho) America has more slums than India right now. Plus they're more worse as they're gun crime and drug ridden streets. The thing is western media won't show this to the world. But they'll bring their ass over here with a camera to show Dharavi slum in Mumbai. They won't show the modern India. The situation is far worse in LA and NY. People don't have basic needs like food and water. Biden isn't doing anything. I'm telling ya, until democrats run this country, it will never hope to recover. He's just pulling in more immigrants for votes by opening the borders. Trump or any other alternative can save your asses.
And finally to reiterate, the words that I've used are targeted towards Google and pixel fan boys who can't justify the shortcoming of pixels and not towards the creator or anyone else.
I have to give you props for not using swear words and constructively criticizing me because ppl on UA-cam are generally disrespectful in the comments with each other
Biden is democratic party, Trump is republic party @@06ek
