I started playing around with making videos at work about 8 years ago and it has just developed from there. I really should take a course or two at some point. For the music, I spend a lot of time on Souncloud.com searching for interesting artists. When I find one, I reach out and ask their permission to include their music in my videos. Awesome job Rick! There is nothing more satisfying than detailing a black car and watching all of those hideous blemishes disappear. The end result is always so rewarding. Enjoy your return class.
Thanks Bryan. The way those swirls just melted out of the clear coat brought me a great sense of satisfaction for sure. I have spoken with the man behind Turbo Wax and he is sending me a few more bottles of the Swirl Remover Pro X which is by far the best polishing compound I have ever worked with.

Well, if I truly did this as my profession I don’t think I’d survive for long with the amount of time it takes me to accomplish projects such as this! But, the compliment I’d greatly appreciated! 🤘
Rick, I had never heard of those tires you mentioned. Living in Florida, I have never really had a need for a winter tire. I googled them, and the tread pattern reminds me of tires I had back in the 1970's, Pirelli CN36's.
I am so excited to be equipping my SQ5 with the Hakka R5’s. Nokian is arguably the maker of the finest winter tires in the world! That’s interesting that you spotted a similarity between the R5’s and the old Pirelli CN36’s. I guess there is a limit to the variety of possibly tread patterns!

Another home run, Rick! I almost had a tear running down my cheek when I heard this was the last summer project. You spoiled all your fans this summer with an amazing new video every Saturday morning at 9 am with some wicked cars. I look forward to your next project this fall. Stay RAD, Rick and have a great school year!
Thanks Eric. The focus now shifts to the other passion in my life; teaching. I'll do my best to share what happens in the garage on the weekends, though.
It came out so nice. I kind of wish I had another 10 hours for this one, and I have suggested the owner bring it back next summer for a follow-up. Even with 4 days of solid work, there are spots I want to spend more time on, inside and out. Thanks for stopping by Clint.

Thanks so much for spreading the word about my channel. I do appreciate the support and I am hopeful that my channel will continue to grow and attract more detailing fans. Take care and stay RAD! 🤘
Another fantastic video Rick loved every minute of it. Gyeon Q2m Foam is my go to every time I wash my cars now you got me hooked and lithium products are always a pleasure to use. 5 stars be proud of that black car so satisfying. 👌🏻👍🏻🇨🇦
I am flattered you feel confident enough in my work that you would try out the same products I often use. I agree, the Q2M Foam is just a solid all-around pre-wash shampoo that probably rids cars of 95% of surface dirt. Lithium is very unique in their formulations and their products always offer something a bit different and effective. I have really enjoyed using their Wheely Great Tire Conditioner and Dressing on the last few projects. It applies so well and leaves a perfect natural finish.
I agree. I am going to enjoy a bit more free time on the weekends to watch my son play hockey and just get the garage into tip top condition as we enter the Fall/Winter. Thanks for being a part of the summer series of videos!
I rarely ever comment on videos but wanted to give you a shout out for the amazing cinematography of your videos. Been watching for awhile and your edit skills somehow keeps getting better! I’m sure i’m not the only one but would love to see a behind the scenes video, how shots are created, camera gear etc
Getting a viewer to comment for the first time is an honour. I have considered doing a behind the scenes but I don’t want to give too much away. It’s a very “dog eat dog” world out here! 🤘
Yes, thank you. I’ll take that and any 11 yr old car you’ve worked on Rick! Doing it with and for the passion & it shows! I hope the transition back to work is smooth.
Thanks man. I think the fact that I really care and enjoy the projects I tackle helps me achieve the results I do. I was honestly surprised with how well this one turned out. I was intimidated at first, but it just keep getting better and better as I went.
You are a very professional person Rick, and this was beyond a RAD video, the editing and music was absolutely perfect. I'm my opinion, top 3 one of your best videos ever..... great job
I appreciate that, Mike. A lot of time and energy went into this project so I wanted to make sure the video reflected that. Thanks for all the support on each and every project I tackle.
Even though you place yourself in the weekend Warrior/enthusiast category, the quality of your achievement with the details are far superior to that of most professionals. A RAD treatment is always appreciated, I’m sure of that.
Thanks Al. In all honesty, if a true pro had the time I am able to invest to a single project, they could probably detail circles around me, but I do truly appreciate the compliment.
Really impressed with the results the wool pads produce. I have just received mine and will be doing some work on my daughters Edge. Notice I am not experimenting on my own Honda. 😂😂😂 I will let you know how it comes out. If I don’t post on your channel for a while, send help.😂😂Till the next one.
Wow really nice video Rick I’m from holland in Utrecht and I myself been really busy on my own car a Ford Mondeo MK3 in about the same color as your SQ5. Your videos have been a lot of help thank you. I experiment also with the products you Use in your videos. Keep up the good work Greetings from Holland
So nice to hear from you. I wish you nothing but the best as you continue to pamper and maintain your own car. We don't have the Mondeo here, but I am familiar with them. Glad to hear it is a cool colour like mine!
And you used the big block to apply the ceramic coating! The doctor in me is over the moon. How dare you not give me the credit for that carpal tunnel saving advise, LOL. All the best Rick.
Where did the summer go? I hope you had a great summer, and hope that there are still more Rad Garage videos in the queue, even if the frequency is lower (how come work always gets in the way of all the fun stuff??!!?). You certainly get to work on some amazing cars, and this AMG was no exception. There is indeed something very satisfying about polishing a black vehicle, perhaps it is the stark contrast between the before and after, since black shows absolutely every flaw. Thanks for spending your summer providing such great content to your viewers and subscribers! How difficult was the AMG to work with, was the paint fairly hard or was it on the softer side? Thanks again for sharing, Rick, another fantastic work of art both in front of and behind the camera!
Eventhough I only produced six or seven videos this summer, I am sure most viewers can understand the number of hours that goes into the detailing and production of each video. I love doing it, but.a little bit of a break is definitely in order. Thanks for being such a keen viewer of this summer's RAD projects, Clint. It means a lot to have such supportive and dedicated viewers such as yourself.
Amazing work Rick!! Black is such a difficult colour to correct. You can see every imperfection. The boys at Tunerworks will definitely be impressed. Also your summer series was amazing. Looking forward to more Rad videos!
The weather here is definitely still summer-like, but my free time has now come to an end. Weekends will be spent at the hockey rink watching my son pursue his passion for hockey. I can't complain...
Great work Rick! You did a great job with the paint correction. I know you’re just going to keep improving. I love the bonnet on that car, seeing you apply protection over the ridges and curves was very satisfying. Enjoy the rest of the summer Rick!
YES! That bonnet has such amazing curves and bulges and made for amazing video content! I could have coated it over and over and over again. It certainly suggests something special lives under the hood!
You said you are not profissional, but you are better bcause you do it for fun and pleasure not for money . By the way i love black cars and that amg turn out outstanding.
Thanks Alexandre. I do like what I do and I have massive respect for the pros in the detailing industry. My situation allows me to take my time and pick and choose what projects I take on, and that keeps it fun and rewarding for me. Like I said though, I have nothing but respect for the professionals that have built up this industry.
Thanks Fred. A black sedan such as this was a bit intimidating, but I'm at a point now where I actually think I have all the necessary equipment, products and ability to tackle anything. That's due in large part to the variety of products I have been introduced to through the Glove Box program. Keep doing what you do to help us weekend warriors learn what products are out there.
Another visual feast! And it’s not an Audi (just kidding) . Black cars give me anxiety, but man if I don’t love a freshly corrected and coated AMG. Rick, one thing I noticed , and this may be a stark generalization, is that Canadians tend to hold on to their cars longer than Americans, despite the harsh weather. Who knows, I may be off base though. Hope you had a great summer.
It doesn't matter how many projects I have under my belt, a black car still makes me nervous! I think the bulk of the cars you see on my channel, were pre-owned purchases. My personal theory is, guys my age are starting to realize the "best" cars have already been produced so they are starting to acquire them. Not to say new cars aren't awesome, but the age of the people I associated with suggests they are melancholy about the cars they admired and now they are in a position to finally buy them. Just a theory.
Hi my friend ! How proud you must feel after this C63 AMG resurrection ! This is your hobby as you mentioned before but everyone will agree with me on the fact that you have now reached such a high-level ! On detailing side obviously but also on your editing skills Rick 😉! Moreover, you have build such a nice network during these last 3 years I'd say and your community is now counting more than 30.000 subs ! I am very proud to be part of your channel too ! Wish you all the best for work next week 🤞! I will be back to work the week after you, which will give me enough time to play a little more with my brand new Bissell Spotclean Pro, which is a real killer ! Did my fabric floor mats and the trunk carpet, man I could barely believe the fithy and grimy juice I got in the water tank 🤮! Next step will be the carpets cause it was still 33°C here and I was already sweating like crazy and finally a quick interior refresh. Take care mate ! Stay RAD and see you on the next one 😉 Gregg
Thanks Gregg. You make a valid point about the tone and vibe of the RAD viewership. They are without a doubt, some of the most supportive and kindest viewers I have ever seen on any channel of any type. I think that is what makes sharing so fun and rewarding for me. I know I will get sooo much positive feedback and that's what a creator needs to keep creating! Take care and I will speak to you soon.
Rick, can you please explain to me your thought process on rinsing the pre-soak foam from bottom up? would love to hear your explaination for this. That video was a banger !!! Keep them comming.
Bottom up is the way to go. If you begin rinsing your foam from the top, the run off rinses away the foam on the lower portion of the car, so by the time you get there, the foam is all gone and what are you really doing? You are spraying the car with water. By working your way up, you ensure you are thrusting foam (not just water). into the tight body gaps which is the primary reason I follow a pre-wash foam process. It does seem counter intuitive, but I stand by it 100%! Thanks fo the question and I hope to keep viewers entertained as we enter in the Fall/Winter season here.
Rick another stunning project completed you are truly an inspiration and a true potential I have a black GMC and I can’t do a paint correction like that I may be using harbor Frieght crap because rupez makes it look so easy
Thanks so much Ramon. Once you have the right tools and equipment for the job, it is just a matter of taking your time and doing your best. I have never tackled a black GMC but I imagine that would be a very fun and satisfying project to complete. Go for it!

Hi Rick love you videos and attention to detail and the editing is amazing it helps my mental health I am a veteran and I detail cars but struggle how to find customers I even tried offering free detail and no one bits any tips on editing software or generating customers. I have posted about 5 videos so just starting really
I’m honoured you enjoy my videos. For editing software I use the very basic iMovie program. As far as generating interest in your services, I don’t have much expertise to offer, unfortunately. I have been fortunate to find a group of people that enjoy my videos and enjoy seeing their cars featured in them.
Awesome work, always enjoy your videos. I have one question - what is your secret to minimize the rust bloom that happens on steel brake discs when washing cars with steel big brake kits?
Thanks for the compliment. The only sure-fire way of eliminating that rotor rust is to take the car for a quick spin around the black and apply the brakes a few times. There is nothing else I have found that works. Sometimes, taking a car around the block is just not possible due to sloppy road conditions and you don't want to undo all the wash work you just did, so that is a problem that I am still looking for a solution to.
Thanks Tim. At RAD Garage, we use pretty much every product at full strength these days. I find diluting anything dilutes its effectiveness. Plus, I don't really have to concern my self with cost savings due to the low volume of projects I tackle as compared to most others.
There are many education options where I live. My school chooses to have a short summer with a few more breaks sprinkled during the year. The majority of students return to school in early-September. Thanks for taking time to view this AMG project. It was a a highly satisfying way to end off my summer detailing season.
awesome content! any advice on a good pop up tent to keep car in shade while drying and detailing? Live in townhouse and one car garage too narrow to do any work in.
I have often considered a pop up tent for different projects on the driveway. I don't have any first hand experience with one, but my neighbour across the street recently picked one up for his track days. I shall shoot him a message and see if he has a recommendation and I'll post the response here.

A few questions if you think about doing a FAQ anytime soon : - What's the car you've enjoyed detailing the most (apart from yours) - What's the dream car you would like to detail - What do you think about the thousands of "disaster car detailing" videos you can see on youtube ? Do you think they stage those videos by adding dirt, moss, and trash in cars before cleaning ? - Would you see yourself making detailing your mainjob ?
Great questions François! - The car I enjoyed detailing the most would have to be the BMW 2002 I did last summer. - A dream car that I would like to detail is a Porsche 928S4 - I can't stand "disaster details". I am sure many of them are staged since it seems to be the most viewed type of video in the detailing genre.
Yup, I will be at work in less than 12 hours with my new students and that will definitely occupy a lot of my time, energy and passion for the interim. But, once the dust settles, I hope to tackle some weekend projects in the garage and I will do my utmost to share them with viewers!

Thanks for watching Larry. My videos don’t always explain the reasons behind my process, but I hope they bring the process to life and showcase just how soothing and relaxing the detailing process can be when you aren’t under time pressures.
Stunning work all round as always Rick. I wouldn’t want to drive it after that for fear of getting it dirty!
Thanks Nadine. I do wish I could seal them up in a Ziploc bag and keep them this pristine always!
Can’t beat a rad video 👌 this guy got me into detailing &(chilled music oscuro the lot) no one washes our cars apart from me. Keep up the good work RAD
So glad to have you as a viewer Norman. I am glad to hear I have inspired your love of the detailing process. 🤘
What a sound!!!! That’s a beast! Loving the “film noir” …. Nice touch! 👍👍👍 Shedding a little tear as the last project of the summer though. What a summer it’s been though!
Not having all that time will make taking on projects very challenging, but I'm sure I will share about 35 videos of me washing my SQ5 this winter! LOL
@@RADGarage Ha!!! Know that feeling very well… I’ll see your winters and raise you a 5 & 7 year old that like eating crisps and croissants 🥐 and sticky drinks on long road trips…
Passengers are the worst.
You should be proud you did a very nice job 👍 I hope the owner takes care of it ✌️☮️
The owner has already sent me a video clip of how well the Gyeon coating performs at the local spray wand wash. He has some interesting and exciting plans for the car. Maybe I will have it back for another session next summer....
Rick, for a hobby, your work sure is professional-grade. Definitely part of my Saturday routine!
I like the sound of that. While it isn't my primary source of income, I do treat it seriously and I take it very seriously when someone entrusts their precious cars to me.
Great car, great job!👌
Glad you like it!
Top quality detailing Rick as usual really enjoyed watching this video.
Thanks so much. That was a big project that turned out better than expected.
Hi Ricky, you are the best as ever and your work is flawless, sorry for not writing a comment right away, I just got back from vacation, I told a few guys about your work, they really liked it, I gave them your UA-cam page details, they said that they would definitely subscribe to you,, good luck to you, I hope you will have 100,000 subscribers by the new year, hello to your family ..
Thanks so much for spreading the word about my channel. I do appreciate the support and I am hopeful that my channel will continue to grow and attract more detailing fans. Take care and stay RAD! 🤘
Nicely done once again, Rick!
Thanks. It was a lot of work for me, but the results were worth it.
Great end to an awesome summer!

Thank you so much. That’s exactly how I feel about it. 🙏
Wow! Just Wow!
Thanks dude. I'm very proud of this one.
Another belting detail rick 👌
Glad you think so!
Hello Rick, i am a hardcore BMW fan, but this car has a special place in my heart, excellent job!!
As a hardcore Audi fan, it’s feel the same. You can’t not live this car. It drives tremendously too.

Thanks for a great summer Rick. Well done as usual!
I appreciate it! Hard to believe it is over so quick.
@@RADGarage Maybe surprise us with a special Holiday Detail time permitting. I bet that McLaren needs some dwelling foam again. 😉
I have a few options, just need the timing to work out. ⏱
Nothing but amazing, from the detail itself the correction to the coating to the editing, just top notch
Wow, thanks! I feel like all the pieces came together nicely on this one.
Rick this car amazing, good job!👍
Thanks. I absolutely love these AMG’s. So fierce and fun to drive.
Absolutely flawless work as always, Rick! 🔥🔥🔥
I appreciate that! 🤘
@@RADGarage Well earned and deserved!
Results were absolutely Rad Rick! Hate to see you go back to work but thank you for imparting your knowledge on our next generation of leaders.
Thanks for all the support and feedback this summer, Chris.
You really out did yourself on this one 👏! Sorry to the summer end but hopefully you'll be able to sneak in a detail or two.
I will do my best to sneak in some projects once the dust settles after the first few weeks of school. 🤞
Haha! Those wool pads are actually a real pleasure to work with. You will be JUST FINE! But, I will send help if you go MIA! 😹
Excellent👍
Thanks for the visit!
Wow really nice video Rick
I’m from holland in Utrecht and I myself been really busy on my own car a Ford Mondeo MK3 in about the same color as your SQ5.
Your videos have been a lot of help thank you.
I experiment also with the products you Use in your videos.
Keep up the good work
Greetings from Holland
So nice to hear from you. I wish you nothing but the best as you continue to pamper and maintain your own car. We don't have the Mondeo here, but I am familiar with them. Glad to hear it is a cool colour like mine!
And you used the big block to apply the ceramic coating! The doctor in me is over the moon. How dare you not give me the credit for that carpal tunnel saving advise, LOL. All the best Rick.
I thought of you on this one. People should take your advice on this!
Amazing.
Thanks. 🤘
Amazing work Rick!! Black is such a difficult colour to correct. You can see every imperfection. The boys at Tunerworks will definitely be impressed. Also your summer series was amazing. Looking forward to more Rad videos!
I look forward to tackling more project once I get my feet under me at work.
Would love to see muddy/extremely dirty SUV wash and interior cleaning on your channel.
Some of my own SQ5 videos feature it in a very dirty state. Other than that, I just go with what my friends bring me.
Great video, as always!!
Thanks. I appreciate that.
Another amazing result...loving your work.
Summer seems to have flown in this year...
Keeping it Rad here in Scotland.
Great editing, video work, and detailing! Awesome results Rick, it really came out nice dude.
This took me a while to view but another awesome RAD GARAGE production Rick.
No worries Joe. It’s good to spread the views out to keep the video trending! 🤘
You should be proud of how this one turned out, wow 🤩 . You’ve inspired me to in the near future give my black A4 a much needed paint correction
Doing a paint correction on a black Audi A4 sounds awesome man! Go for it! Audi paint is so awesome to work with.
Watched. Relaxed. Now nap..
✅, ✅ and ✅! Thanks for watching!

Stay RAD and see you on the next one 😉
Gregg
Go for it!
@@RADGarage I’ve been meguiars compound and wool pad but it’s just not getting cut I think it’s the polisher I’m going to try to get a rupes the previous owner took it through a lot of car washes I’ve had the truck for 2 yrs it’s a 2018 canyon
If you are in the US, I highly recommend you give Turbo Wax Swirl Remover Pro X a shot. With a wool pad on a HF polisher, it may surprise you. Might save you some money from buying a new polisher, too!

Astonishing results Rick! For the Carpro Perl, did you use it full strength or diluted some? Thanks again Rick! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Tim. At RAD Garage, we use pretty much every product at full strength these days. I find diluting anything dilutes its effectiveness. Plus, I don't really have to concern my self with cost savings due to the low volume of projects I tackle as compared to most others.
Hi Ric, when does the school year start for 13-17 year olds in Canada?
Congratulations on your work on this AMG. (sorry for my english 😊)
There are many education options where I live. My school chooses to have a short summer with a few more breaks sprinkled during the year. The majority of students return to school in early-September. Thanks for taking time to view this AMG project. It was a a highly satisfying way to end off my summer detailing season.
@@RADGarage In Portugal it is the same. A big hug 💪
awesome content! any advice on a good pop up tent to keep car in shade while drying and detailing? Live in townhouse and one car garage too narrow to do any work in.
I have often considered a pop up tent for different projects on the driveway. I don't have any first hand experience with one, but my neighbour across the street recently picked one up for his track days. I shall shoot him a message and see if he has a recommendation and I'll post the response here.

A few questions if you think about doing a FAQ anytime soon :
- What's the car you've enjoyed detailing the most (apart from yours)
- What's the dream car you would like to detail
- What do you think about the thousands of "disaster car detailing" videos you can see on youtube ? Do you think they stage those videos by adding dirt, moss, and trash in cars before cleaning ?
- Would you see yourself making detailing your mainjob ?
Great questions François!
- The car I enjoyed detailing the most would have to be the BMW 2002 I did last summer.
- A dream car that I would like to detail is a Porsche 928S4
- I can't stand "disaster details". I am sure many of them are staged since it seems to be the most viewed type of video in the detailing genre.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooo! it must be Saturday night. Nooooooooooooooooo final one for a while, the end is nigh😪😪
Yup, I will be at work in less than 12 hours with my new students and that will definitely occupy a lot of my time, energy and passion for the interim. But, once the dust settles, I hope to tackle some weekend projects in the garage and I will do my utmost to share them with viewers!
