You did it again Rick! My afternoon at the clinic will be better simply because of my mood after watching that R8 get pampered. I know you have a ton of followers but I had told you in the past that my S4 is wrapped and topped off with Skin. Watching you apply Skin on that supermodel made me think that was my R8, at least in my mind. LOL. I've moved to a much larger microfiber block that fits in my hand when applying coatings. I could feel my hand cramping watching you use that tiny block that comes in the package. I'm getting old! As always, strong and wonderful work. Blessings on you and yours from the car doctor here in Texas 👊
Haha. Yes, I am sure I suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome because of those little applicators. I have some microfibre and ultra suede applicators I should be using more often. I’m glad you connected with this project. It deserves way more attention than I was able to generate for it.
And this is how a car should be washed it’s the first time I’ve seen a American / Canadian detailer wash a car like this they usually rinse the car with water which hardly removes that much then spray shampoo over the car and wash and swirl at the same time but this is the way it should be done the more chemicals and rinsing before contact equals less dirt on the car top job as always rick
Not sure if you read new comments on older vids @RAD GARAGE but damn the quality of these videos are next level. The intro, chill music and detail shots! incredible man! love the place you have to do what we all love to do keeping our babies clean & protected!
Great words from your buddy, the passion shines through indeed! I had a full sanding and correction of the biggest truck I think I’ve ever seen today (2 foot lift, tires in the 40-50 range, mega wide fenders, and A LOT of ground to cover) and I got so discouraged seeing just how much work I had in front of me so I took a quick break and booted up UA-cam and sure enough, this channel was my first recommendation. I watched a video and thought about how much you love detailing and it helped me get right back on track. 14-15 hours later and the truck was looking great, I’ve got a lot more work to do, but it just reminded me that I love doing what I do every day and seeing someone else put so much hard work and love into a project reminds me of how much I love it too. Great content as always my man, keep turning these videos out!
RAD GARAGE You got it man, from one professional to another, you’re probably the most passionate I’ve ever seen of all the content creators and independent detailers I’ve watched and worked with over the years. The pursuit of perfection is a chase that not many of us have the passion to undertake and you put out finished products that scream “I love my job,” and that’s something that’s exceedingly rare to find anywhere in the entire world. I’m gonna crush that truck tomorrow and hopefully get it outta there by Thursday night or Friday morning and I’ve got you to thank for it!
WTH blown away by the results. That PPF looked pretty rough and I can literally see it smooth everything out and bring it that wonderful luster. Great job!
Yeah, the PPF is three years old and has done a great job of protecting the paint. It is a pretty decent quality film, but I think it needed some love.
Hey Rick. Update on your Audi, my friend. Oh, and nice to see you again. And I came back to add, you are after having some real choice vehicles to detail. That R8 is just beautiful. I think I would be smiling all the time I was working on it. Enjoy every minute.

Amazing! Very soothing video, I was totally waiting for you to upload. Good to see you're trying CarPro's lineup, from what I've heard, they are leading the market of Ceramic Coatings. I also loooove the AUDI R8 series, especially the older V8 version, because of its relative affordability. I hope that one day I will be able to afford one of those, or a Jaguar F-Type. Bang for buck baby! Edit: Wow when I posted this I noticed that you have 19.4k subscribers already! I know how hard it was to get to 10k for you. I hope your channel's growth turns out to be exponentional!
If you ever do buy, go with the Audi. I've had an F-Type, F-Pace, XF and SQ5. The Jags are nice, but the company has been bought and sold a few times as you are aware of. Audi is rock solid German engineering and manufacturing. I tried last month trading for another Audi, but just couldn't agree on $$ with the dealer. So, I went with the new CT5 Cadillac. The above is just my opinion though. Cheers!
So, I spent three days touring around the Southern States last summer in the 4.2L V8 version and that thing is a beast! It was holding its own against the big brother V10 versions just fine! With an aftermarket exhaust system, it sounded more ferocious that the V10's.
I have such a soft spot for Cadillacs. Those CT5's are so nice. I just don't like the names they are coming up with for their line up. Small thing, but other than that, I like the direction they are going.

@@RADGarage well, when I said ASMR, I was actually referring to the shampooing of the whole car, not just the wheels. So I definitely agree with u on that one. 🤟
Nice vid! I just had my car's front end covered with XPEL PPF, and was wondering if you need to take any precautions when using a power washer on it? Stay away from seams I guess, but lower pressure than usual?
Exactly. Stay away from the edges and don’t use a powerful pressure level. I like between 1000 and 1500 for car washing. Don’t get too up close and personal with the edges or seams.
So beautifully done, Rick - the detail and the video. You are indeed a master of both! Quick question: how did you learn the detailing craft to the level you've achieved? UA-cam? In person training? Like you, I'm not a professional - just an enthusiast who is passionate about detailing. Always curious how people like you, who are basically in the same situation as I am, were able to do what they've done. Thanks!
I really appreciate the kind words. I have been cleaning cars since I was a kid and just approach it with a simple and straightforward mindset. I have introduced new approaches over the years such as paint correction/polishing and coatings. The thing about it is, it’s not all that difficult if you’re willing to commit time, energy and money. I’m by no means a master, but I’m happy with where I have been able to take my skills. The magic of video makes what I do lot a lot more dramatic than it is in reality!
Great video..music put me in a zone..lol Id like to send you a couple pics of one of my cars ..i don't use often and it gets a haze on the bottom panels..id like your opinion on it..where can I send pics?
Not a spokesperson for Rick haha, but when you go to Rick's website, ricksaudidouble.com, there is a contact page, you can send a message there and also attach a picture. Again, I do not know whether it is his preferred method, but it is an option!
radgarageyyc@gmail.com (I did receive a msg a little while ago from someone with a similar issue through the "Contact" page of my website, but haven't yet responded. Was that you?)
@@RADGarage LoL, I did notice those glove shots. Very well done. I'm glad you like the gloves. I was positive you wouldn't be disappointed. For some reason, they just feel so good on the hands, not so rubbery I guess.
Relatively new to your channel, and I have been impressed. I never tire of watching and listening to your vids. The music and quality of the filming is some what unique, well done!!!!
Thanks. I have enjoyed having you as a viewer. You left me some great feedback on prior videos and I really appreciate it. Every time I see your name in the comment section I think of the two British kids who moved to Calgary in the 80's. Brad Crockford, I wonder where he is now!?!
Hi my brother! Great work. Not only editing this video but taking care of this beast R8. Let me ask you, why didn’t you polished before ceramic? The customer didn’t request or the paint was perfect?
I am using a different IK sprayer. It's not an actual foamer. I have the one you have and have had zero success getting it to work. I use my Adam's Wheel & Tire Cleaner at full strength for best results. Sometimes, I cut it 50/50 with water but it sucks diluted.
That car is the beauty and the beast at the same time. Great video, as always. Do you move the car a little bit to apply the tire shine everywhere around the sidewalls of the tire or do you manage to do it in one shot ?
I don't move the car to get the lower portions of the tire. The way I see it, you only need to dress the sidewalls that don't make contact with the ground, so I'm able to get right in there. Do you see many R8's in France?
Can I have the link to that skinny black barrel brush!!!? It would be so handy to have for my Jetta since it has smaller wheels that are close to the calipers. Thanks!
You and me both! We are heading to the mountains this weekend, so it's going to get filthy, but I want to hold off on doing a full detail until I get the front end damage fixed. Will I be able to hold out that long? We shall see. We shall see.
Thanks for dropping in. You've already detected a strong bias towards Audi's. I have owned three myself and seem to meet many other people with strong love of the brand. If you want, visit my website at www.radgarage.ca to learn a bit about the back story to my garage and detailing fascination. Thanks for the sub!
Thanks for the kind voiceover, Warrick. Your voice fit in so nicely with the music and overall mood I was going for! You may have another career in voiceovers!
Thanks Mike. Got the new Pirelli's on the SQ5 today. A world of difference. My old ones only lasted two summers! I need to not launch it at every light!
I used PPF Q2M Wash by Gyeon to suck out the little iron deposits that embed themselves in the PPF. This car is completely wrapped with PPF so its the fastest and most efficient way to get that PPF super clean. I do not like using polishes on PPF, but I will do it time to time when I feel the PPF is quality enough to handle it. I have had some bad experiences with cheap and worn PPF not reacting well to polishes. Those vinyl stripes on some cars are a real pain to work with. I remember Matt from Obsessed Garage struggling with his hood stripes on a GT500/350 (can't quite remember which). He had so much trouble, he just pulled them off. If you do decide to polish PPF, my advice is get a very very mild polish to start with and see if it nets you the results you are after. That Gyeon PPF Renew seems like a smart choice. Good luck!
Hello as always, a fantastic video. I live barely 25 km away from the Quattro plant, I can hear the R8 every day when they go on the autobahn with us and do the acceptance test
I dabble with a 50/50 mixture of Adam's and water, but I will use this all-in-one cleaner straight up on my own wheels when they are really dirty. The heavier the concentration, the more bubbly it comes out of the IK spray bottle. That is not actually a foaming sprayer. It's the 1.5 Alkaline Continuous sprayer. I believe I provided a link to it in the video description. Thanks for the question.
Awesome job Rick. Need more R8 vids! Wish you were in Toronto. 17:24 of the video, mind sharing what is the product you are using on the rims after they’ve been washed and dried?
Would that product be ok on powder coated wheels? I’ve had my wheels powder coated a gloss black and the more I wash, the more swirls I see. How do you compare the ethos products to Adams products?
I don't see why Defy wouldn't be fine for any type of wheel finish. It's not at all aggressive. I don't feel like Adam's has a product that directly competes with Defy so no way to compare. Are you just looking for a gentle waterless wash solution to keep your gloss black wheels clean without scratching? Defy and a quality MF would be my best suggestion.
Yeah just looking for something to give it some extra gloss. I forgot to mention the wheels were also ceramic coated as well. I would think the product would still be ok to use? Just checked out the ethos products....looks like good stuff
My poor car isn't scheduled for repairs until October 19th. The damage isn't as extensive as originally thought. The estimator was actually able to pop a bunch of the mangled panels back into place so it's just a new grille and some PPF at this point. It is quite filthy though!
Yes, Mike. I have driven this car a number of times. The owner is the coolest guy you can imagine. He just had an aftermarket exhaust installed and had it tuned up a bit so he wanted to hear my impressions. The thing is just pure bliss.
@@RADGarage I think you've always had this thing. I've been watching you since you had only a couple thousand subscribers. It's inspiring, just wish I knew how to do the video editing like you do. That's one of your trademarks ;). If you like to test out new products, take a look at Aenso One and Aenso Polaris (Snow foam) amazing stuff. It rinses away completely free and has some decontamination qualities.
Pleasure to watch, great job as expected .I would definitely come to you if I was in Calgary area:)... Rick I wanted to ask you what cleaner or solution do you use to clean rubber trim around windows and door seals and such?
That would be awesome if you could. My favorite spray for rubber trim around windows and seals is probably this one: carzilla.ca/products/1z-einszett-vinyl-rubber-care-protectant-169oz?_pos=15&_sid=2562e8603&_ss=r&ref=RADGARAGE
@@masoodanwar3306 I had a great UA-cam month which allows me to create more content and equip my garage with more supplies and equipment. As much as the ads harsh the vibe, they are necessary to sustain my continued growth. The UA-cam Premium has been something I have really enjoyed.
Another Job well done Rick glad you always find the time to make these videos for us👏🏻 I have a soft spot for R8's have to be top 3 of my favorite cars, I'd like to see you detail a newer modell M5 as well if you could get your hands on one.
I agree Kai. The R8 is just automotive perfection. It has a bit too much honeycomb trim on it, but I'm just being picky! It's not the most satisfying surface to clean. I would love to perform some pampering on an M5 at some point. I just kind of go with the flow and see what kind of cars and people I can connect with.
SQ5 repair process on hold until October 19th. Looks like it will just be the grille and some new PPF in a few spots. There's even a little twist coming, so stay tuned for my next full update! Life is good!
Hi Rick!! That is a very nice car!! Very good video content as always!! Why people press dislike.. I don’t know... This is beautiful!! Great one!! 👍💪👍💪
Absolutely beautiful and stunned by the quality and the detail. I had one question though. Over the years I've seen people gone mad that when rinsing off a car you go top to bottom but you went the other way. Any reason or it just don't matter?
Thanks so much Hassan. I am a big proponent of going bottom to top when pressure washing after the foam. I think of that stage as more than just a rinse. What I am aiming to do is force the soapy foam into the deeper grooves, crack and crevices of the car thus flushing out hidden dirt and debris. If I was to start at the top and work my way down, the water would rinse away the foam coating the lower regions before I got there. By working bottom to top, I am assured that soap is being forced into the spaces. It seems counter intuitive, but it's a more efficient use of the foam.
All the footage is straight outta the camera. I wish I had more editing abilities. Thanks. I have been following your posts on IG with glee. Those lights on your ceiling create the most spectacular patterns on the corrected paint.
@@RADGarage that's really good mate!! The look is on point and straight out of camera what a bonus! Hey thanks mate! They are extraordinarily bright but not in a bad way and I do love the patterns too!
RAD GARAGE Thanks for turning me onto The Ambientalist. Your videography combined with their music is true art. I now enjoy in my cave(garage) too while detailing. Watching foam dwell in 4k on my LG OLED tv after with a beer is equally satisfying! 😂
I'm not 100% sure but my money is on SunTek. That's the preferred brand used by the guy that I know this owner has used in the past. It's 3 years old and has held up great. Just knowing that the paint is completely protected is so great to know. It really has me contemplating completely wrapping my next new vehicle.
Wait…was something out of sequence Rick? Did you put Defy on before you added a ceramic coating? Is that possible to do it in that order? And Damn, what a sweet car!
Outstanding 👌 as per usual Rick Could watch one every day 🤷♂️...did this have some paint correction work done beforehand.... Also how's your car coming along hope its all fixed now 👍
Thanks Kev. No paint correction necessary or possible due to the fact it is completely wrapped in Suntek PPF. My car is slated to go in for repair on October 19th. In the meantime, it's not as bad as originally thought. I will be doing an update vid in a bit.

I took great care this time to document my time and I spent 10 hours engaged in actual detailing. I spent almost 20 hours in the garage and another 5 in the office rendering the video. It's just not sustainable!
I have a little Dyson handheld too. It's okay. I think it could have a bit more suction, but mine is a pretty old model. I think I've had it eight or nine years now.

Again, your detailing skills are the best. How long did the R8 detail take?
Thanks! 10 hours of work not including filming and editing.
Great video..music put me in a zone..lol
Id like to send you a couple pics of one of my cars ..i don't use often and it gets a haze on the bottom panels..id like your opinion on it..where can I send pics?
Not a spokesperson for Rick haha, but when you go to Rick's website, ricksaudidouble.com, there is a contact page, you can send a message there and also attach a picture.
Again, I do not know whether it is his preferred method, but it is an option!
radgarageyyc@gmail.com (I did receive a msg a little while ago from someone with a similar issue through the "Contact" page of my website, but haven't yet responded. Was that you?)
@@RADGarage yes that was me..
It certainly is an odd occurrence. Do you belong to any Facebook detailing groups? That might be a good question to pose to the global brain trust.
Another great video my friend. That R8 looked stunning.
Thank you very much! I put that little glove shot in just for you! They are awesome by the way. Best gloves I have used -- wait for it -- Hands Down!
Hi. This car is completely wrapped in paint protection film. It was in tip top shape so I just decided to coat.
Amazing work and vibe.
Appreciate that Marius. Unfortunately, this R8 was involved in a traffic incident and is currently having body repairs made. 😢
@@RADGarage sorry to hear that, I hope the owner it's ok and safe.
He's perfectly fine. Just an unfortunate altercation with a gravel truck! Ouch.
Awesome job Rick! Car looks perfect. Awesome video, perfect choice in music. Just the perfect video to unwind to! Keep it up!!
Thanks. This was a pretty easy and straightforward project so I was able to pour some extra time into capturing the footage so it turned out great.
Watching this again needed to find my inner zen. It has been located.
Always happy to oblige!

Thanks. I live in Calgary, Canada. It's getting close to winter already! ⛄️
What a beautiful car... you did a great job!! Love the sound of that V10.
The camera captures 10% of the sound this thing makes. I don't know how else to explain it. Just ferocious.

Thanks so much!
Are you diluting your wheel abs tire cleaner? I just bought the IK 2.0 but can’t get it to foam like yours. Thanks!! Looking good as always
I am using a different IK sprayer. It's not an actual foamer. I have the one you have and have had zero success getting it to work. I use my Adam's Wheel & Tire Cleaner at full strength for best results. Sometimes, I cut it 50/50 with water but it sucks diluted.
@@RADGarage Thanks for the pointers. You always reply :) just about to place a order with Carzila, using your code thank you
I try my best, but it's getting trickier and trickier as the audience grows! 😅
Hi sir...great work there....i wish you nothing but the best
So nice of you. I'm glad you enjoy my work.
Can I have the link to that skinny black barrel brush!!!? It would be so handy to have for my Jetta since it has smaller wheels that are close to the calipers. Thanks!
I can't seem to find the link to that one. I did leave a link on your brush question on the VW Golf R video, though.
Awesome job Rick. Love your videos. Can’t wait for the SQ5 to return to the big screen.
You and me both! We are heading to the mountains this weekend, so it's going to get filthy, but I want to hold off on doing a full detail until I get the front end damage fixed. Will I be able to hold out that long? We shall see. We shall see.
I saw the vid co-produced by you and Pan...Awesome! I'm not getting the Audi fetish brah? Just subscribed and I'm looking forward to the content.
Thanks for dropping in. You've already detected a strong bias towards Audi's. I have owned three myself and seem to meet many other people with strong love of the brand. Awesome start to the week . This Monday got a whole lot better. That cold start was 👌🏻. Keep it up Rick.
Rick, thanks for sharing your passion; I look forward to your videos. The vehicle looks stunning.

Why PPF wash? Have you used PPF polish to correct carbon fiber wrap on camaro hoods and if you do what would be the purpose that you use it for?
Oliver, that must be music to the ears! Thanks for sharing that.
Hello Rick. May I know your dilution ratio for the Adams Wheel Cleaner using at the IK Foam Spray Bottle?
Thanks man. I gave the wheels a spritz of Ethos Defy just give them a bit more gloss. It's the nectar of the Gods!
Defy plays well with ceramic coatings. A little goes a long way too. Highly recommend.
Another perfect detail forthe perfect car! Thank you as always Rick!
It's totally my pleasure Wesley. Glad you enjoyed it.
Amazing video Rick, beautiful car and great work. Is your sq5 repaired now? This is perfect therapy for you!
Good luck and all the best with your car!
My poor car isn't scheduled for repairs until October 19th. The damage isn't as extensive as originally thought. The estimator was actually able to pop a bunch of the mangled panels back into place so it's just a new grille and some PPF at this point. It is quite filthy though!
Rick, great job! Your passion does come out. The car looks great! We’re you able to take it for a ride?
Yes, Mike. I have driven this car a number of times. The owner is the coolest guy you can imagine. He just had an aftermarket exhaust installed and had it tuned up a bit so he wanted to hear my impressions. The thing is just pure bliss.
Love the way you wash the cars! Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪👍🏼

Pleasure to watch, great job as expected .I would definitely come to you if I was in Calgary area:)... Rick I wanted to ask you what cleaner or solution do you use to clean rubber trim around windows and door seals and such?

I agree Kai. The R8 is just automotive perfection. It has a bit too much honeycomb trim on it, but I'm just being picky! It's not the most satisfying surface to clean. I would love to perform some pampering on an M5 at some point. I just kind of go with the flow and see what kind of cars and people I can connect with.
What enjoyable video rick. Greetings
Thanks for the visit
we need to know how's the q5 repair going so far.. nice video and what an incredible car..
SQ5 repair process on hold until October 19th. Looks like it will just be the grille and some new PPF in a few spots. There's even a little twist coming, so stay tuned for my next full update! Life is good!

Why people press dislike.. I don’t know...
This is beautiful!!
Great one!!
👍💪👍💪
Thanks 👍 I guess some people are hard to impress! I am very pleased and satisfied with the way this project turned out.
Outstanding results as always keep it up Rick 🖤
Thank you kindly.
Do you spray the wheel & tire cleaner directly on? Or do you mix it with water?
I sometimes dilute it and sometimes I don't. The most I will dilute is 50/50. On relatively clean wheels, I go with a 50/50 mix.
better than new,masterclass.
Thanks Jeff. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Oh yea sweet video!! Is that straight out of camera or did you grade it for that look cause its pretty sweet! Like always, music is on point!

Great video, great effort!
Just curious which model/make is that PPF.
I'm not 100% sure but my money is on SunTek. That's the preferred brand used by the guy that I know this owner has used in the past. It's 3 years old and has held up great. Just knowing that the paint is completely protected is so great to know. It really has me contemplating completely wrapping my next new vehicle.
After coating, what did you spray on the wheels? @radgarage
A little spritz of Ethos Defy.
RAD GARAGE Thank you, keep it up we learning a lot
Wait…was something out of sequence Rick? Did you put Defy on before you added a ceramic coating? Is that possible to do it in that order? And Damn, what a sweet car!
No, Defy in the door jambs, not on the paint.
Outstanding 👌 as per usual Rick
Could watch one every day 🤷♂️...did this have some paint correction work done beforehand....

Gotta ask. What do you listen to when you detail? Your music listed here, or something completely different?
I mix it up. I just call out "Siri, play ________" and I go with it. This last detail featured a lot of Foo Fighters, Eagles, and various Rock hits from the 90's. I don't have a "go to" genre. I also do listen to the chill step artists I feature in my videos.

Nice job Rick
Thanks Octavio.
Also, why does your 40* tip seem a lot wider fan than mine? Is it just the flow making it look wider further away from the wand?
A few people have commented on that tip. Honestly, it came with my Lowe's "Kobalt" branded AR Clean pressure washer and it is just a great little tip. It is so super wide and looks great in videos!

Once again and awesome video! I know you said 10 hours time. How much additional time was taken for shooting and editing? Always a pleasure!
I took great care this time to document my time and I spent 10 hours engaged in actual detailing. I spent almost 20 hours in the garage and another 5 in the office rendering the video. It's just not sustainable!

Once a month is more realistic. Especially during my son's hockey season.

A. The Eagles
B. Foo Fighters
C. A mix of 90's Rock
D. All of the above

I did a maintenance wash on a while one for my friend a number of years ago. That's A LOT of work, especially to dry!
Hey Rick, I am considering to get the handheld dyson to vacuum my car whenever it is dirty. Any other suggestions for a handheld vacuum cleaner?
