Catching Big Crabs - Oregon Dungeness Crabbing

- I went out with my friend Jay for some crabbing and rock fishing. It was a good trip, and I want to thank Jay for inviting me. There were some big crabs that we caught. We dropped our crab pots in about 20-25 ft of water. Most crabs were male and hard shell.

I'm watching your video from catching big Crabs two months ago oh my God I'm in seventh heaven watching this I love it when you're on a boat
It’s funny how hard those things are to count. I crab out of Nor Cal. We end up counting and recounting.
Calm water and a nice morning complemented your trip big time.Big crabs that came in quick with a few nice fish made it worth while to return to shore early and enjoy.😊
WOW! What a fine day for crab and weather too! PK you handle crab like the don't pinch!!
Good video those were some hogs that was the bearing sea with that those size crabs right keep up the great videos hopefully someday I will get to run into you out there tight lines
You mentioned that you like the meat on the red crab better, but it sticks to the shell more and is harder to eat. Have you ever used plain vinegar or apple cidar vinegar when boiling or steaming your crabs? It makes them sweeter, but it also helps the meat peel from the shell easier. If you haven't tried it, give it a try. Vinegar can be used to boil or steam any crab.
That was such an amazing haul and trip! Thanks for sharing PK!
fresh air and fresh fishing, cures all, thanks PK
Awesome video PK!
I never really knew how much of a whimp I am until I see you guys just reaching in a full crab pod with no gloves on.
Amazing day!
I want to move back to OR so badly. My grandparents used to own a home on Ten Mile Lake years ago. It was my favorite place in the world. The bass fishing was second to none! My dream is to move there and live the life. Have you fished there? Would you consider vlogging a trip there and fishing? They lived in Coleman Arm-far end of the South lakes (off of Potato Bottom Rd). I found your channel awhile back when I was searching fishing at Ten Mile. I've never fished the ocean. Maybe one day. (I live in SE New Mexico-ugh).
Looks like I need to head down with my crab snares. WOW! O.o
We’ve been slaying the Salmon right there at Adam’s pt. You should bring your yak and hook up with us for some Silvers.
Was nice to meet you at my work I thought u looked familiar when u came in lol small world
Thanks. You too! Small world indeed. We should hit the water sometime.
@@oregonlife sounds good man would love that gonna be salmon fishing till the steelhead come in
👋🏼😃👌🏼. 🦀 Muy bueno!
Do you ever see Lynn? Those were my favorite videos.
We are still hanging out. He's a life long friend for many more years to come. I hope to have him back again soon.
Yesss!
Fabulous haul. That one Dungie was a SLAB.
We've been eating crab since Thursday after my big haul up North from you.
Three pots and TWO limits!!!
And those rockfish - very tasty!
What are you making with the Rockfish?
I hope to go back out soon.
Dang ut that was a good morning!! We had plans to do the same thing during Crab season. Drop some pots then go fishing but the closed all the costal fishing in Calif. so there goes that plan! I'm not sure is we will be crabbing this season or not? It's a long way to the coast.
😄👍❤
I was out a couple of weeks back and we got big crab but they were all still empty, did those have good meat?
Yup. Most of them were packed. Hard shells.
What rod/reel you use or is good for salt water? I have my heavy rod for casting crab net but I think it’s too big and heavy just for rock fishing. Please recommend
He posted a video a couple days ago and he went over three rod/reel combos he uses.
Was that near the cribs?
yup
When was this ??
Early September.
What is the name of that boat you were using. Looks great.
