Great video, damn good work, love my 6.0
Oh dude thanks for uploading this video. Will be doing the same thing eventually I think. I've been looking for a 7.3 for awhile but they are getting so expensive that it is now getting cheaper to just buy a 6.0, that has more power anyway, and get the whole bulletproof package.
We are we are the youth of the nation!!! Lol nice truck bro great work
Good job man! I love your truck.
Hope it all stays 100% for you! :)
Well done man. Not easy. I was sore as shit from my 04 beat the hell outta me
I’ve never used a cherry picker to remove the heads. I just use my arms.
That far in your better off replacing with new o ringed heads. The fuel jackets inside the factory heads have a weak point and can crack internally and symptoms are same as bad head gaskets.
Crazy question, but is that steering wheel from a different year Ford? Looks way better than my 2007.
Nope original wheel, previous owner took meticulous care of this truck!
What offset are those wheels? Looks great

How can you tell if it’s been bullet proof’d?
Look at your head studs between your exhaust manifolds and valve covers and see if they're studs or stock bolts. Look under turbo if your EGR cooler is still there or blocked off. Plus check your EGR valve behind the intake neck and see if it's unplugged
I just bougjt a 6.0 thats been bulletproofed no rust with 179000 miles and then i hear all this about them someone please tell me if i screwed up
Just take good care of it and keep up with the maintenance. Everyone bad mouths 6.0’s but if you look into each diesel engine you’ll find horror stories with any manufacturer. You see 6.0’s for sale all the time with 300,000 plus miles on them so that should tell you something. I’ve owned 2 of them and one had a lot of issues (I’m sure the previous owner abused it) and the other was bone stock and had 250,000 miles on it. Never blew head gaskets or anything. I regret selling it.
Don't cheap out on parts or maintenance and they're not that bad. It's been proven what's needed to have a solid 6.0 even while beating on it here and there. They just have a reputation due to younger/cheap people getting them for cheap after being beat their whole life and then wonder why it needs so much work 24/7
Thanks
How long did it take u to do everything
This one about a week working on it in my free time. Last one I did I knocked out in a weekend
Sorry. There’s no such thing as bulletproof. My neighbor did it and it blew up anyway
That’s on your neighbor.
@@dankmemesgivemewetdreams5933 actually a well known shop did the work. Good luck with your Furd
He is correct, it will fail.
Do it right and dont push your limits
Yeah, I don't understand why people sink so much time and money into these engines.
I'd just sell it, man. Get your money out of it and dump it. I've had so many of these things come to me with HPOP leaks from the HPOP itself, to leaky ball valves, to leaky injector o rings, to the LPOP leaking/failing, etc. that I would end up just doing it all in one go and it's a bitch of a job, very time consuming, lining up the piping on the turbo to get the clamps on is a nightmare with the cab on. Like any diesel, they're super easy to work on with the cab off, lmao. But cab on they are one of the most annoying diesels to work on and you'll be tracking down oil pressure leaks 24/7, not to mention FMIC issues and glow plug problems. Which reminds me, if you do keep it, you should have replaced all of the glow plugs and the harness while the heads were out, much easier job to do with them out than in the truck and I skimmed parts of the video but I didn't hear you mention rebuilding the injectors, super common failure point because each injector has like 5 o-rings and the one inside the top is a nightmare to replace, get some spares in case they split while installing. I would take a 7.3 over these any day, though the 6.4 was STILL a worse engine, 6.7's are pretty reliable but also very tight to work on with cab on.
Shut up
